Question: My granduncle isn't back yet. Suggestions? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 01:11 PM PST So my granduncle was tasked to babysit me and my two brothers over the weekend while my dad is out of town. This morning at 11:00 PST, he needed to go get some extra clothes for the night. He said he would be back soon. His house is relatively close so I don't know what is going on. He has been gone for 3 hours. I ruled out one possibility. He didn't ditch me because my dad would give him hell. However, he forgot his phone at my house. He could have been looking for it this whole time, or something must have happened to him. His house is only 15 minutes away. I tried messaging and calling my other uncle who lives with him because they are brothers, but he didn't respond. My uncle is supposed to bring my brothers and I to my cousin's birthday party in 2 hours so I'm running of options here. My dad is out of town, my mom is at work, my uncle is nowhere to be found, and I'm a minor so I cannot drive. Suggestions? HELP! My granduncle isn't back yet! Suggestions? |
Question: I think my brother may be gay? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 01:02 PM PST He's 14 now. He seems pretty normal. He plays football and swims a lot. But he doesn't talk about girls much at all. Most of the singers he's into are young male singers. Also, he has this same boy over to do homework and play video games a lot, or goes to his house. And right before he comes over, my brother will tidy up his hair and put on deodorant, and mouthwash and stuff. And yesterday when his friend was over to study/game, I was upstairs, and all of a sudden I realized it was really quiet. I thought his friend had gone home. So I came down to make sure my brother had tidied everything up. His friend was still there. They weren't really doing anything. They didn't see me. But they were sitting really close and might have pulled away from each other. I don't know, but I think they might have been kissing. I don't know what to do. I think my brother might be gay. What do I do if he is?? Should I be okay with it? I've never been faced with something like this. How should I deal with him? Should I tell him he can't have his friend over anymore? Or let them keep hanging out? I'm pretty much in charge of him since I live at home, pay rent, and my parents work all the time and travel. |
Posted: 17 Jan 2016 01:01 PM PST I ordered something online (I'll be straight-up, it's a sex toy). I'm 18 y/o so I'm perfectly legal but my parent are still very nosy. I thought they were going to be out of town for a few days but they changed their mind, but I had already ordered the item! My mom is home almost all the time so I'm not sure what to do. I guess the main thing is I don't want to ruin my relationship with my mom. It would obviously be pretty awkward if she found it. I'm literally panicking right now. /: |
Posted: 17 Jan 2016 12:57 PM PST so im 13 yo guy and my little brother is 11. anyways whenever we get into fights which is like almost everyday bc my brother is annoying as hell, my crazy dad always hits me and never hits my brother even though my brother is the one who is always starting the fights with me bc my dad thinks I'm the older one while he is still a "baby". anyways i noticed that whenever my dad hits me, my brother always ends up crying and trying to protect me from my dad. |

Question: I can't seem to forgive my mom..? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 12:48 PM PST So on Friday my mom got mad at my sister and took away her laptop and her phone. But then 5 minutes later she tells me to give her my phone to. I asked her why and she said that because I didn't get a 3.8 gpa on my report card (We had a agreement that if I don't get a 3.8 GPA she would take my phone away) but the thing is... My report card came last week and she said she'll give me another chance and didn't take my phone . But just because she's mad at my sister she took my phone away to and came up with an excuse to take it. And yesterday, she just barged into my room and literally got mad at me for doing my homework on my iPad. Then she started talking about how this is her and my dads house and not mine and that she was just going easy on me. I got really annoyed at her and just said to stop and leave my room and to leave me alone but she suddenly started talking about how messy my room was and told me to clean the room. So I said ok now leave and as she was about to leave she took PICTURES of my room and just ... That seriously hurt me .. And after she left I just started crying and I haven't cried since 2 years. Before anyone says this is nothing and that I'm just overreacting.. She always made me feel bad about myself after I gained a little weight .. She would always tell me that I was so pretty when I was younger and now I turned ugly and she always compares me to my sister who's a straight A student and I'm just an average A and B student. |
Posted: 17 Jan 2016 12:48 PM PST I am not so much worried for me or my sister but for my mother. If my sister dies then my mother will no longer function and my mother says that. I would be sad my sister died but would move on, my mother won't. How do I get past this? |
Question: I lost my eye in an accident. What jobs will I not be able to do? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 12:46 PM PST I lost my eye in a golfing accident. Wrong place, wrong time and my eye was ruptured and they had to remove it. I'm better now, but I did research. I can't join the military and I can't be an astronaut (and, I can't tell you how much that killed me since I had my heart set on being an astronaut since I was six and found out about them in the first place. Like, I devoted my life to learning how to be one. It's really heartbreaking). But, what can I NOT do anymore, job wise. So I won't be let down or needlessly get my hopes up for later on in life? Not that anything might break my heart more than no longer being able to be an astronaut, but I just need to know. |
Posted: 17 Jan 2016 12:45 PM PST I am looking not so much for revenge but for her to get the point that she is hurting me. |
Posted: 17 Jan 2016 12:43 PM PST It is like all her and her friend do as her friend is divorced from my step-mother's brother which is almost too weird. They met through means outside of me or the family connection as my mother and step-mother only know each other through my siblings and I. |

Question: Should I refuse to get my Dad any more drinks when he is intoxicated? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 12:38 PM PST I am an adult but I see my father frequently and he is often drunk. He will say things like "get me another drink" and I comply. Am I wrong to do this? My sister tries saying no but it leads to a conflict with him and I don't feel like arguing with him. My stupid brother won't even see our Dad which I think is really wrong of him (my brother). So am I okay getting him a drink? |
Question: My dad always throws temper tantrums at everyone in my immediate family? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 12:28 PM PST I'm not really sure what's wrong with him but since I was 4 or 5 I remember vivid memories of him throwing temper tantrums that are always directed to one of my family members. Before, when I was younger he would hit and yell and bang and do all this really loud things that have traumatized me up to this point. Nowadays although he doesn't hit, he bangs the tables, yells, and loves degrading everyone in the family. For instance, today my mom peeled the eggs "wrong" and he yelled at her to go buy some eggs and kicked her out of the house. Then, my mom left to go pick me up and grab some eggs. When she came back, he got really mad, kicked all the eggs, and then threw it out. Another time, we all had our own dinners and he couldn't finish his piece of beef. He asked me if I wanted it and I told him no thanks, I'm really full. He then got extremely mad started yelling and stabbed the plate with a fork and it broke. Not only this but he likes to call my mother stupid etc. Is this mental abuse? I feel extremely bad for my mother and my brother. I've learned to stand up to it although I get majorly anxious around him and never feel comfortable around him. Is there anything I should do? |
Question: I hate being a twin? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 12:17 PM PST Being a twin used to be sort of fun. I mean I never really LOVED it, but it had its benefits. Now, I'm just so done with it. Constantly being compared, always competing against one another, fighting for the spotlight, having so the same interests.. Since we're both girly girls it's difficult because we both like makeup and fashion. It sucks because my sister always treats me like I'm a lesser version of herself and don't know anything about beauty. She always takes the spotlight and like ever one of our family members and friends thinks she's the "beauty/fashion" one. It makes me want to scream I like that stuff too! Stop neglecting me. Also whenever I take up a new hobby then my sister decides she wants to do it too. My parents are no help when it comes to this. I get that I'm stuck with being a twin but the thing is NOTHING is ever ever ever just about me. I never have my time to shine, EVER. Not even I my birthday, because I have to share that. So it always has to be the restaraunt we both want, the party we both want, etc. I know that sounds greedy, but just ONE day;( just one that could make me actually feel special. |

Question: Can someone help me, I'm stressing about my birthday and my mom's birthday? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 11:56 AM PST I'm turning 21 next month. My mom will be 57 5 days after me. I want to do something nice for her because she is very stressed out and has been unhappy for a long time and is currently fighting liver cancer. We didn't give her a big 50th because my dad is cheap and I was only 14 so I didn't have money. But I feel bad so I want her to have a nice party. 57 isn't a "milestone" birthday but I still want her to have a nice one. Now I don't mean to sound selfish but I also want to have a really fun birthday since 21 is a big one. But it falls on a Sunday so I probably couldn't do anything til the next weekend anyway. But that is going to be my mom's birthday. So it sucks I want both of us to have fun birthdays. I want to surprise her and rent a hall and invite her friends but I don't really have the money and neither does my dad. The hall is only 100$ but it's the dj and food and decorations that I'm worried about. My moms mom has the same birthday as my mom. She will be 77. I don't want to combine any birthdays though I don't know. Any suggestions?? I was also thinking that I would buy her tickets to see Teresa Caputo who is a medium that she likes. |
Question: My friend says she has the "money" to live by herself with her son in a apartment? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 11:50 AM PST She had 1300 last week and I think now, she has about 2,000 but her apartment monthly, will be 560 or 680 which ever apartment she choose to move in, then she has to pay her baby babysitter, home appliances like towels, cups, plates, mattress, and covers, and bed..which will be over 300 then she has NO CAR insurance, she has a poop car, and she needs to get her tires replaced because its sooo old that it can explode if she drives and she drives him in that car...her parents kicked her out so she is now living with me,,, for free...i told her she needs to find a place till next week because my parents are coming over and i dont want her in my home because it will be unfortable for my parents anyway she says she has the money,,,but I dont think she does because a month i spend 1000 on bills |

Posted: 17 Jan 2016 11:43 AM PST My parents divorced when I was 4 and my father came around a little at first and when he remarried when I was 6 he has only seen me four times and I am now 16. I feel shame for this and like I am different from my friends with Dads. When he does see me he says hi but acts like he just saw me a few weeks before. It has now been 4 years since he has seen me and he has kids with his new family as he called them. He didn't even have me to his wedding when he married when I was 6. How do I overcome this hurt? |
Question: Getting kicked out, what should I do? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 11:39 AM PST I'm a 17 year old girl and my moms kicking me out of the house. My cousin and I got in a fight several months ago and today my mom blew up and told me that I ruined her family because of the fight, even though I've apologized over and over. My mom doesn't want me around the house and I don't know where to go. I'd feel like a burden to anyone I'd ask. I have enough money and clothes to make it until school starts again on Tuesday but I don't know when it'll be safe for me to come back. Please help! |

Question: Why does my mom favor my older sister? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 11:28 AM PST My sister is 2 years older than me. She is tall, thin, does well in school, etc. and it's all my family ever talks about. Its like I don't exist. Everytime I tell my mom about a test or project I did well on, she says "Oh, nice job" and then talks to my sister about how great she did on the ACT's and how cool it is that she gets so much mail from universities. My sister gets everything she wants. She has an Iphone 6, she has a Mackbook while I have to use a computer from the school because my mom doesn't want to buy me one. I went shopping with my mom and sister once, and I had to buy everything I needed with my own money, while my sister didn't even pay for her own coffee. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. My mom thinks my anxiety started because of friends at school, but it's because of her. I'm always worried that she's gonna yell at me again for forgetting to do the dishes (which I do everday, while my sister does nothing) or having an "attitude". The attitude I have is when we do something as a family and they're talking about my sister going to college (again) and I'm playing on my phone with earbuds in. I hate coming home from school because I don't feel like its home anymore. The only thing that can calm me down is music, which is why I have earbuds in at all times. I'm not trying to sound spoiled if it's coming across that way, I just really don't understand what I did to make her act this way towards me. Please help. |

Question: Excuses to tell parents im going outside? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 11:21 AM PST I need to go to the store because they gave me a $20 coupon and it expires tomorrow. The store is 25 minutes away and right now it's raining and they probably won't let me go, and also because it's too far. It will just be out for a few hours |
Question: How can I convince my parents to let me move to this new school? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 11:20 AM PST Basically I go to a normal unisex school at the moment but it's absolutely horrible there because I get really badly bullied and it's gotten so bad that the teachers have given up on trying to help me because they think they can't make it any better. I want to move to this school in my town which studies in performing arts and it is completely free to go there I want to go and study dance there because I have done dance since I was 3 and it is the thing I want to do with my life. I have done lots and lots of research into the school and I have even spoken to people who go there to find out more about it. I have had a serious conversation with my parents about it and my mum dosnt want me to and she won't let me because she said that she just dosnt want me to how can I convince my mum to let me go there ?? Thankyou for any help |
Question: Is it common for sisters to have stronger legs than their brothers? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 10:57 AM PST |
Question: What would you have done in this situation? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 10:55 AM PST Now that we are in college, it seems that my step cousin "Chris" likes to talk to me; but patronize, be sarcastic, and make fun of me in a passive aggressive way. I have always been the quiet type, introverted, low confidence, but I present my self in a decent way I think so people cant really tell all that except that I'm quiet. They probably do and he sees that so he exploits it, so he tries to provoke and entice me into conversation with him so he can **** with me some more because it makes him feel good. I don't know though, I think I understand him, but I'm not sure. He's really sarcastic, confident about himself, a smart ***, thinks he's above people. He's tall, but thin so I think if we fought I could beat him but I don't want that. Alright, now for the question. This all happened over two occasions and each time he was drinking alcohol. We'll be talking while we're eating and when it's my turn to speak he will just burp in my face and blow it in my face and look me in the eye and smile. I can't do anything because he's family and technically around my family. I tried to be the bigger person and just ignored it but he still did it. I never told him to stop though he would just keep doing it. I did look him in the eye like I wanted to elbow him, but he still did it and disrespects me. I respect him. How should I have handled it? What would you have done. I'm tan and el mexicana about 5'8. He is White, about 6'1. I am a male. |

Question: Is "coon ***" a racial slur? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 10:33 AM PST i went to my sons step daughters baby shower two weeks ago and she thanked me for the gift i got her and my girlfriend got her alot of baby clothes and to describe the quantity she said "buku" and my step granddaughter had no idea what it meant and i had asked why my son didn't teach her "coon ***" (my words) and told her it meant alot well my son recently told me yesterday on the phone that if i didn't watch what i say she wouldn't invite me to functions anymore because she doesn't want her 5 year old and new baby to learn it i don't see whats wrong with it i'm 61 its just how i learned to speak but is it a racial slur and what should i do? |
Question: How to deal with mother? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 10:25 AM PST My mom is very short tempered and whenever I say something she tells me to shutup and ignores me. If she tells me to look for something and I tell her it s not there, she ll look at someone and say "Why is this child too lazy to look for it?" She pisses me off and I know she s my mom but that isn t an excuse to treat me like that. I never treat her badly, and I m not spoiled. *Side story* my mom likes to take me shopping for shoes and clothes I don t need, but I never want it so she says "you re no fun to shop with, you don t want anything." But if I tell her I want something and show her she ll say "You re just a spoiled child, I always get you things you want and never even thank me" So that s annoying as well. How do I deal with her? It sounds rude but it s not fun. She ll never believe a word that comes out of my mouth. |
Posted: 17 Jan 2016 10:23 AM PST General Anesthesia? My dad's 60 and is getting a kidney stone removed which leads into him having general anesthesia. I don't have a mom and my dads my only family besides my brother so I am worried of him not waking up. Anything I can be told to be put at ease? |
Question: Is This Considered "Abuse"? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 10:21 AM PST I'm a 15 year old guy my parents split when I was five my dad met a girl my mom met another guy so I would switch each week off with my mom and dad. My mom died in July in a tragic motor cycle crash, so I now live wth my dad full time the problem I face is I feel he is abusive twards me when he looses his temper. I am not perfect and innocent I've smoked marijuana in the past and it was wrong of me. He is a great dad but a bit of what people call a "hard ***" he thinks I'll turn to weed again which is understandable we don't get along very well we have gotten in arguments and they have escalated into what I feel as verbal/physical abuse. In the past he has said I'm a a*shole, a peice of sh*t, a prick, etc. Things have escalated he has punched my stomach, pulled my hair, pushed me into the wall, slapped my face and tackled me onto the ground I know he means well and he's worried but every time we fight he starts saying hurtful things to me and if it gets bad we start getting physical I'm thinking of reaching out o a school counselor for help but idk if it's the right choice, someone HELP! |
Question: Mom wants to kick my dad out? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 10:17 AM PST Growing up my father has never been the nicest man. My mom considers him to be verbally abusive towards her and my siblings and I. There were a few events that happened earlier this week that really caused problems between them. I only heard of them this morning, when my mom wanted my opinion. She wants to kick him out until he gets counseling in order to save them from getting a divorce. I just feel angry at my mo, for some reason, even though I know this would be for the best. I don't think my dad treats me that bad, but my mom says it's because this negative treatment is all I know. My sister is agreeing with her and I can't help but want to defend my dad. I love him and don't want him to go, but it would safe my family. Why do I feel this way? |
Question: Is it common to have older parents? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 10:16 AM PST My parents were 38 years old when I was born. I was my dad's first born, and my mum's third born (she had two other kids in her late teens, early 20s). My parents were 40 when my younger sister was born. So me and my sister were surrounded by middle-aged relatives most of our lives, because our uncles, aunts, cousins, etc, were older, and me and my sister were "late arrivals" in the family. Now I'm 27, nearly 28, and my parents are 66, nearly 67, this year. Is this a common thing nowadays? My parents can also be like my grandparents! |
Question: Is this considered "abuse"? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 10:11 AM PST I'm 15 my parents slip up when I was five my dad got a girlfriend my mom got a boy friend... I would stay with my dad for a week and my mom for a week. My mom tragically died in an accident months ago and I now have to live with my dad full time, the problem I face with him is I feel he's verbally and sometimes even physically abusive with me, he has called me an asshole a peice of sh*t and a prick but I am not innocent I have smoked marijuana in the past and that was wrong of me. He thinks I'll turn to drugs since my moms passing which is understandable but he's overly worried and protective we have gotten in many arguments where things have escalated into physical fights he's punched my stomach pulled my hair out me in headlocks and pushed me into the wall, we both yell at eachother and im really unhappy in my position, I'm thinking of reaching out to my school grievance counselor. |
Question: How to deal with a domestic tyrant? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 10:02 AM PST My wife has become insufferable. She is always right and arguing with her is pointless. Whatever she says 'is right.' In her words, "I only argue when I'm right." Which translates to I won't even listen to you. A little while ago I was in the kitchen with my four year old son. He wanted to close the dishwasher. I said ok now, push in the tray and then close the door. He proceeded to just lift the door and the tray was caught in the groove. Plates were falling and I didn't want a disaster. . I said, "stop, stop!" A bit loud but not yelling. My wife came storming in from another room and started screaming at me to stop yelling. Then our son started crying. And she said, "see what you've done?" Everything would have been fine if she didn't try to control everything. But in her mind she's infallible. There's no reasoning with her because, 'she's right,' |
Question: How do I get my sister to return the favor of keeping a secret? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 09:59 AM PST A few months ago, my sister lied that she was going to a school event, when she actually had a girls night out in the city with her friends. I knew about this, but I kept it secret because she begged me not to tell them. She's 15, I'm 17. I haven't told my parents to this day. They're extremely strict, and I knew I wouldn't want to put her through anything bad. I was recently grounded for three months for talking back to my parents, but they're away for several days this week. To take advantage of this, I was planning to have my boyfriend over tomorrow to watch a movie (without telling my parents of course) but I don't know if my sister will keep this secret. She has a tendency not to return any favors and is a little bit stubborn and she favors listening my parents over me. How do I get her to promise not to tell my parents? |
Question: What do you do about a too controlling step mom? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 09:45 AM PST My best friend has a step mom and she always yells about her. Oh and before you say start acting like an adult and she ll treat her like one. We tried that but her step mom wants thinks a certain way, and when it isn t it s my friends fault. |

Question: My sister physically and verbally abuses me everyday, what do I do? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 09:36 AM PST I am 13 years old and she is 15, almost 16. For an example, today she got home from a sleepover and was mad at our dog for barking a lot. I said, "aww he's just happy to see you." She said "yea but I just let him outside to blow off the energy." So I said, "you don't have to yell at him." That's when she got mad and started calling me names like "retard, ******" etc. So then she asked why my phone charger was in her room (I don't even know how it got there), so I didn't know what she was talking about, so I asked what? That's when she lost her ****. She started jumping up and down screaming "Stay out of my room you ******* ******!", and whenever I said something like "I wasn't in your room?" she will run at me and hit me, grab my neck, or kick me in the back, rear end, or my private area (I am a guy). I try my absolute hardest to not hit her back because she's a girl, but if I do, it's only in self defense. This is only one example of a lot of times this has happened. *I told a fake story of why it was in her room so she would stop hitting me and calling me names since she was right.* I've told my parents before but they have a lot on their mind since they filed for bankruptcy and they're getting a divorce. Does anyone have a way to stop my sister from hurting me without calling a hotline or the police? I don't want to do that because it will cause more unneeded drama, because I can take the hits most of the time, just wondering for a way to avoid this. |
Question: Dealing with furious parents? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 09:12 AM PST I'm a 15 year old girl and I'm a good daughter. I work hard, I'm responsible, and I respect my parents. But sometimes my parents just fly off the handle and I don't know how to deal with it. I'm really on edge right now because I will be getting my 1st semester report card really soon, and I'm a really nervous person and I get panic attacks a lot. My parents just stormed into my room while I was doing homework, screaming so loud I was scared the neighbors would call the police. I don't even know what they were really mad about, some combination of the clothes lying on my bedroom floor that I haven't picked up (maybe because I was studying for 10 hours a day for midterms) and not attempting to fix my dad's laptop that got a virus or something yesterday. They're screaming and screaming at me so I just say, sobbing, "I'm really on edge right now! I promise I'll do those things today!" which just launches them into more screaming and slamming the door, leaving me sobbing like a wreck. How do I deal with them when they're like this? They left me feeling like an absolute piece of sh!t that doesn't even deserve to live. Thank you for your very kind answers, everyone. This is really helpful and encouraging. |

Question: Fighting with parents! Please help!? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 08:45 AM PST Im a teen in high school, ive never done anything wrong. I get good grades, ive never done drugs or anything bad. My parents over react about any problem THEY have. They scream and slam doors if they like spill a water or something. Last night, i accidentally clogged the toulet, and i tried unclogging it. My friend was over, and my mom came in the bathroom all pissed off and screaming and she was saying "im gonna beat you so hard". They never have, but my friend doesnt know that and it was humiliating. My dad then came in and started screaming, and told us we had to leave. Ive never talked back before bc they expect me to be their robot, but i was so heated i yelled "everything has to be so stressful around here! You are freaking out about a clogged toilet and im sick of it!" Then me and my friend walked out and went longboarding for ten minutes then came home. When my friend left, my dad came up to me and said "your behavior has really gotten out of control and its not fair how you treat us. I expect an apology to your mother for you being disgusting" i simply said i did nothing wrong and now im just sitting in my room. Help? |
Question: What's your take on summer clothes during winter? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 08:38 AM PST Growing up my brother would wear shorts in the winter, like most guys do. Even I would wear shorts occasionally. I mostly wore skirts with ugg boots or I wore flip flops regardless of weather. It's currently 37 and I've got on a beanie, a long sleeve layered with a tank under it, leggings and flip flops off. It snowing off and on too. I feel like, it doesn't even bother my feet. However if my mom, gma or great gma saw me they'd lose their minds and try and make me change but I'm 26 so I wouldn't change. I'd just smile, nod and stay comfy. |
Question: Might my mother be right that my father doesn't love me, read below? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 08:37 AM PST My mother says my father does not love me and I wish she wouldn't say it. However, he is now engaged to his girlfriend who is not social with me or my sister. She is cordial but doesn't go out of her way like my mother says she would do for a step-child. She does not come with our Dad to events of ours very much but did see us over the holidays. So my mother has said for years that our Dad doesn't love us but she does and that her father (our grandfather) is the one who loves us like a father. Might she be right? My Dad says he loves us and not to listen to our Mom when she says this but he is remarrying and my mother says thats the ultimate betrayal of us and proof that he does not have love for us. My parents divorced before I could remember (I was 2) and I am now 15 so it has been 13 years. We see our Dad but often our mother keeps us from going except when we have to by law. She says our Dad never wanted to fight for us anyway. So is she right? How can I figure this out? It confuses me and I feel sad he might not love us. |
Question: Can i be my little brother s guardian at 16? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 08:25 AM PST My dad and mum have decided to make a will just in case anything happens. They want to leave me as the guardian of my 4 year old brother, I am 16. They want to leave the house to me so I look after him there. I have an older brother who is 18 but they don t think he would look after him well. Is this allowed? |
Posted: 17 Jan 2016 08:04 AM PST So basically I lost my mom months ago in a tragic motorcycle accident and I have to live with my dad full time I use to only stay with him for a week and with my mom for a week and switch off but now I'm there every week. It sucks. I think that some of the things he's done/said have been "abusive". I am not innocent or perfect I have made bad mistakes in the past. I have smoked marijuana and he doesn't trust me so I can't do much without him being suspicious, with my mom dying it's understandable he feels I'll turn to drugs. The problem is when he's mad...there's no controlling his temper, he's a great guy when he's not angry and he's done so much I could never repay back. But when he's mad he uses my mistakes against me and calls me an a*shole or a peice of sh*t and a prick we have gotten in physical fights I've been pushed and tackled to the floor punched in the stomach and put in a headlock. It gets bad with me and him I need help NOW I'm thinking of reaching out to a school counselor but idk if it's the right choice HELP! |

Question: How do I bring this up to my mom? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 07:48 AM PST Since I'm really short, I want to get an x ray to see if I can grow anymore. For whatever reason, my mom really doesn't want me to get one. So I'm going to try to convince her one more time. I have info to back up my argument for it, I just don't know how to bring this up. Question: Is it bad that I get mad when other people use my stuff? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 07:31 AM PST I have this really great leave- in conditioner, that's actually not that expensive. I thought I was the only one using it, but it turns out my sister started using it everyday now. Of course I didn't buy it (my mom did) and it's not that expensive, but it still makes me mad. I got this wonderfully soft, beautiful blanket for Christmas this year, and I usually leave it on the couch since this is when I usually use it. My mom has since started using it a lot if I'm not using it. Of course she was the one to buy it for me, but it still makes me mad. My sister also used to use my razor, but I hid it in my room. She also uses my lotion that's in the bathroom that I bought with my own money! Am I being too defensive? Or do I have a right to be mad? What do I do? |
Question: My dad is ruining my life.? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 07:15 AM PST He treats me,, my mum and brother like property. Me and my mum we're going to go to a women's refuge and then come back for my brother very recently but women's aid wouldn't pick the phone up 5 times in a row. He treats us like **** and I swear he's the cause of my anxiety and my brother's depression. He's 16 and I'm 14. I have a half sister who's 10 years older and moved out at 16 because of him. He once smacked her around the face so hard when she was 5 that her nose bled. My mum wants to leave but doesn't earn enough to move out. Please help me we need help. |

Question: My step dad wont stop talking about my future? Posted: 17 Jan 2016 06:59 AM PST For about a month now its gotten worse, every time where in a place i cant quite escape from his voice like in the car or somewhere on vacation he will never start talking about how I'm need to get a job, a house or for some reason he thinks I'm going to pay for everyones dinner one day. He usually starts talking about this when he's drunk so last weekend we went to go visit my brother so we had to get a hotel room and so i was just sitting on the bed and he starts talking about how i NEED to get a more than good paying job so i can have a big ******* house and a nice car and how i need to graduate highschool and needs to go to college right away and i ended crying in the bathroom for awhile because of how much anger i had to hold back. For me i don't really care about going to college or even graduating highschool at this point because what I'm learning doesn't have anything to do with what career i want to go in but I'll graduate just for the experience. I also don't care about the good life and would be as happy living in a small apartment having to go by bus and working a job at the mall. He doesn't understand that i don't care about what he wants and i cant get him to stop talking and i just end up having more resentment toward him. I already plan on getting a job and saving for an apartment as soon as i can but i don't think i can keep up with him that longer. |
