I'm pretty sure something bad happened to her when she was younger and it's affected her pretty badly. At first I thought she was just a regular tough as nails career woman but as I've been with her over the years I've come to realize she's just been retreating into her work and ignoring almost everything else in her life. To start I m 23 years old, due to a strict family, I was unable to get a boyfriend until now. A high school friend just asked me out yesterday. I accepted, he had asked me out in high school but at that time I rejected. I don t know if I still consider him a good friend or more, I was pressured by my sis as well as other outside sources to accept. I feel I probably should have waited to see if I could see him as more. Should I simply ride this out and see if anything comes of it? I likely would be able to break up with him but remain friends later on. Basically any advice works. After 8 months of loving each other a lot we broke up. Long story short, because of her father's past sins, she has a tendency to discomfort around dating. This caused problems in our relationship. We became best friends and both really wanted to keep a good friendship. However, since we broke up she has a habit of acting uncomfortable, due to how she felt while we were together, but would confuse me by changing. Example: I would go up to her in the hallway to say hello to her and she would get nervous. Later, she would sit with me and my friends at lunch and get mad at me for not talking to her.She would also ask a friend of mine about how I'd change my appearance and things like that. It was clear that she wants a friendship.She later told me that she didn't appreciate me making her feel so uncomfortable around me. by December, with the reality having one semester left with her, I asked her to hang out in order to talk things over and to help her feel better.
