We stayed together for a day to enjoy the last days of permit before I would go back to work (I work in another country). My dad has been with his fiancee for ten years - I've known her for about nine and generally like her, although things are still awkward. She was planning a surprise party for his fiftieth which was actually going to be a surprise wedding, but some family members were uncomfortable with the idea of it being a surprise so now it is public info that my dad's birthday party will also be a wedding. My dad definitely expects me to get him a gift. But now I'm getting nervous because I feel like I need to get something bigger/more geared towards him and his soon-to-be-wife. But it's not like a normal wedding where I can get them house stuff - they've been together for a decade. I'm at a loss. Any tips would be appreciated.
