Question: Why is my mother sad thinking she may be going through menopause? Posted: 17 Jan 2019 11:17 AM PST I don't understand why my mother is sad that she thinks she may have already started menopause... if she doesn't want anymore kids? I ask her who and when I do is like she doesn't want to say she gets choked up then says she can't believe she's at the age already, she doesn't do anything live life. She said menopause causes horrible symptoms and it's not even because of that she can't belive she's at this point turning 44 next week and doesn't drive or go out live life. She had two sisters back to back and that cause her to be stuck home and have bad anxiety that she can't drive, my sisters are now almost 10 and 8 years old. It doesn't seem she wants anymore kids right? Only asking because we are always stuck home and have no life no family no friends no help |
Question: I overslept, what do I tell my jerk of a boss? Posted: 17 Jan 2019 09:35 AM PST I slept like an hour past the time I was suppose to be at work but every time I make a tiny mistake my manager yells at me even if I apologize he still yells. He texted me this morning in all caps saying this is a problem and where was I. I'm a waitress. Idk what I should tell him because I'm tired of being yelled at. |
Question: Is it right for my dad to defend/contact with his sister/family ? Posted: 17 Jan 2019 09:23 AM PST When I was 14 years old, I was abused by my uncle Thomas (Dad's sister's husband) He also molested my brother. Thomas and his family have helped my parents financially in the past like helping us move. We told our parents right away & we cut communications with them. However, they never called the police but I told a counselor and THEY called the police. Thomas was arrested and ADMITTED to what he did. What happened after this completing traumatized me. Thomas's wife,& other family members came to our house calling me a liar and saying that i was making stuff up. The way they said it to me was horrible. My mom asked them to leave multiple times but they refused to leave my home and kept getting in my face trying to manipulate me into telling the police i was lying. They verbally abused me and my 12 year old brother. They said i was breaking apart their family and it was all my fault. At the time this felt horrible because I was a child. Forward to 2019, I found out my dad got in contact with his family/sister. I'm now 19, I can't tell my dad who to talk to but shouldn't he have some respect for me at least? After all those things she said to me? I do admit I talk bad about her too and my dad gets all defensive when he hears me talk bad about her. He says, 'that's my sister you're talking about! Have some respect. He also says that no matter what, she will always be his sister. Am I wrong for wanting them not to talk? Am I not his child and shouldn't he respect my feelings? |
Question: Just woke up crying wanting to see my dad. Is that weird? Is it a bad or good sign? Posted: 17 Jan 2019 07:33 AM PST He lives an hour and some but I have no transportation to go see him nor does he since a relative that use to take me to him passed away. |
Question: If my brother hits me and my mom what can I do? Posted: 17 Jan 2019 07:26 AM PST I'm a 14 year old male, and I live in a household full of abuse because of my brother. Hes in his late 20's and abuses my mom almost weekly verbally, mentally and physically. he kicks her, punches her, smacks her, and he does the same thing to me but less abusive, he smacks me and yells at me but nothing else. What can I do if he ever touches my mom or me ever again? can I pull a knife on him while I call the police? Will it be self defense if he is stabbed? |
Question: Fiancé wants reasons as to why I can’t stay with his parents and why I want to move out? Posted: 17 Jan 2019 07:18 AM PST In our religion (Muslims) it's VERY common to live with in laws. But it's also become normal to move out. My husband who's very understanding, but he's very close with parents. He was asking me I wouldn't want to live with his parents... he says it's better and more fun to be around family and doesn't understand why I wouldn't want to live with them. He feels I'd get along with both his parents really well and there would be no issues so why...which is true... they are lovely people and I don't think I'd have issues. But I still want to move out? What Reason can I say Right now I just say because "I want my own privacy" to which he asks such as what? He says his house is huge (which it is) and we would have loads of privacy and no one would say anything to me.. Okay guys give me reason because I think I'm bad at coming up with facts and expressing my feelings to why.. |
Posted: 17 Jan 2019 03:20 AM PST I am 19 and I was raised in an toxic environment where I often was treated like I was a constant **** up. My mom would literally tell me when I was in middle school and still now after I graduated; "Don't think. You're too stupid to think for yourself so I have to do it for you." Being treated and talked down like a child eventually made me not...like...develop mentally as I should have and I always feel unready or like I'm gonna mess something up. I planned to move out soon with my boyfriend, who is aware of my mom's abuse and has witnessed her toxic personality, but I just feel unprepared now because my mom made me use up all my savings overtime because she thought I was paying for tickets I guess. I won't mind some help on cash if it's possible here. I only have $100 saved that my boyfriend gave me. I know basic skills like how to cook, clean, and do my laundry. I learned how to save and budget on my own. I have light knowledge of financial literacy. |
Question: My stepmom is being weird?? Posted: 17 Jan 2019 01:53 AM PST Okay so I've always liked my stepmom. She's been pretty cool until after her and my dad got married. I'm a 22 year old female, she's 46. Whenever I go over to my Dad's house, she'll do weird inappropriate things. For example, she'll sometimes come in my room while I'm changing and pretend it was an accident. Or, she'll always make comments about how adorable and sexy I am and ask if guys are always after me, and then ask me what guys like to do to me in bed. And to make it even worse, sometimes when I'm laying on the couch, she'll sit next to me and make comments about how sexy my a*s is and touch my hair and tell me how adorable I am. I can't tell if either she has a weird sense of humor, or if she's just some creep, but either way it's weird. I don't want to tell my Dad, because he seems happy and I don't want to mess up his marriage. I don't know what to do. |
Question: Does My stepmom have a right to read my diary? I can't sleep? Posted: 17 Jan 2019 12:54 AM PST Last week I caught my stepmom reading my diary. so I bought another diary and wrote bunch made up stories. Because upset me that she was reading my personal throughts. I hid my real diary and put the fake diary in my dresser drawer. I made up stories about doing drugs and having sex with multiple guys because I wanted to make my stepmom mad for being nosy and reading my personal thoughts. My Dad was really mad and my stepmom was crying. I did saw my dad and My real diary and I got grounded for two months. They took my diaries from me. I feel awful because I hurt my dad and stepmom. I feel awful about making my stepmom cry. I did apologize to them both. I am an awful daughter. |
Question: Was I wrong for being angry with my parents? Posted: 17 Jan 2019 12:11 AM PST I'm 22 and Yesterday I realized I didn't have my wallet on me when I had went to a store during lunch around 8pm. My mom was sleep and my dad answered the phone. So I asked him could he check to see if my wallet was in my room. He started acting dumb, saying he doesn't want to get out of bed. So I'm like whatever, . Then I guess he woke up my mom because she called my phone. Saying she doesn't see a wallet. Then around 12am when I got home I saw my wallet on my bed. So now I'm angry because she didn't even look. Like that was important to me I was driving without my license and had no card, I cancelled my debit card and everything. I'm just so upset that I'm not important enough for them to get out of bed and help their freaking son for one night 🙄 |
Question: What are some reasons the principal would call home? Posted: 16 Jan 2019 10:10 PM PST |
Posted: 16 Jan 2019 09:43 PM PST She gets a weird face when ever I bring it up and my dad does too. I have every right to be suspicious right? |
Question: Is it normal my 2 yo still has soft poops? Posted: 16 Jan 2019 07:35 PM PST Its not pure liquid like a babies but it isnt solid like an adults. Its mushy. Is this normal? He eats very well. I thought he would have adult like solid poops by now. |
Question: Is it okay to be 22 and living with your parents? Posted: 16 Jan 2019 07:35 PM PST I just turned 22 and have been working full-time as a cashier. I'm not earning enough money to live independently, but really enjoy the store I'm working for and can see myself staying there for awhile. I've also been contributing for household needs and building up a savings to possibly attend college later. (Along with this, I do try my best to help out with cooking and cleaning around the house.) However, my sister who is a few years younger than me keeps giving me the "find a career path or find a husband" lecture and it's becoming really pushy. She also has a tendency to instigate things between my parents and I about my living situation. Is she right? Is my situation classified as failure to launch? What I don't understand is why society is so judgemental about adults living with their parents but they never say anything about people who live with roommates. Shared living is pretty common in my area due to the cost of living. |
Posted: 16 Jan 2019 07:09 PM PST I'm 22 and I live with my dad. I've been unemployed now for about a year. I quit my job without securing another job first which I'm now realizing was a mistake. I'm looking for a new job now but they are always really concerned about why I've been unemployed for a year. It's simply that I live at home and I don't have any bills therefore I can get away with it. Anyway I feel like if I move out it will force me to get more serious about what I'm going to do with my life. My dad doesn't want me to move out though. He'd be very worried about me. I have a decent amount of money in savings from my first jobs. What should I do? I feel like I'm blowing my whole life. I feel so bad. |
Question: Is there any job that a handicap person can do? Posted: 16 Jan 2019 07:05 PM PST Hi I'm 15 and I am stuck in a wheelchair for the rest of my life because of a rare condition called transverse myelitis. I can still kinda stand for alittle bit but that's all. My mom keeps telling me I wont ever get a job or be able to move out because handicapped people dont ever get hired. She said I should just give up stay at home and try not to do physical therapy. She said the government will give her enough money to take care of Me until I die but if i try and get better and get a job they wont give us money and I'll be homeless. Is all this true? Is that why sometimes I see so many homeless people in wheelchairs? I already feel like I'll never get a wife and I'll never have kids. |
Posted: 16 Jan 2019 06:50 PM PST I went to visit a relative (brother) who lives in another state. While there they exploded on me one time and were quite verbally and emotionally abusive. I started to cry and shake. If you haven't experienced this, then you wouldn't know what I mean. And this is not the time to be suggesting "well, what did you say to cause it". Verbal and emotional abuse is never OK. Period .For the record I brought up a subject that had absolutely nothing to do with him. In short, I was not talking to my brother about himself! I confronted him in a calm way and he apologized. But barely. He was so mean that I am in shock they could say the things they did. I love this person and would like to go back to visit them (have been invited) but how do you be around someone who said mean and hurtful things to you? In the course of the angry outburst he also said cruel things about our mother who has died. I don't wish to cut ties with my brother..he is after all family. But I never saw this coming. I consider this a verbal assault. He didn't touch me, no. But it is as if he beat me up! This is tough to deal with since we are family and I don't want to cut ties. He has a serious explosive temper and is this way towards his girlfriend who lives with him. I walk on egg shells around him. But I love him too.We are siblings and I don't want to cut him out of my life. |
Question: Why does she show up 30 minutes early and walk by my class a lot? Posted: 16 Jan 2019 06:40 PM PST have known this girl for a few years and early on she tried to get my attention and acted flirty. Like she blushed around me and got red couldnt look me in the eyes. She couldnt even say hi first and when I did first blushd and smiled. She got giggly and laughed at all my jokes. Found any excuse to be around me, get close as possible and talk to me. Could only approach me with her friend besides her. Her friend couldn't talk to me. Well her bFF looked at her when I entered a room and said her name. Her BFF helped her approach me. She stared @ me in school. A teacher she talked to told me she talked about me. Well her friends stare at me when they see me around town. Then like family members noticed me like her cousins and they stare at me. I see her around town he places herself in spots she can c me and Ill see her.Well her and her mom have done mean stuff on my fb like they unliked a picture announcing my dads death when I blew her off. Then her mom removed my dad on facebook. Shes done dumb stuff like that. Well I go to the same college as her and she saw me in a class that is her next class. She walked in and saw me then sat down and stared at me for a few seconds. She showed up on time but after that. She shows up 30 minutes early before everyone else and then walk by the room looking in and then walks by the door when its open. She walks by at least 4x then stands in the doorway and then waits outside for when I walk out. She doesnt have her friends to help her. |
Posted: 16 Jan 2019 06:36 PM PST so me and my boyfriend both live with our parents because we are trying to save money for a house and just graduated college a few months ago. I'm also trying to pay off student loans. My house is a lot bigger than his so we mostly hang out at mines plus i love to cook. we are 26. he comes over about 3 days out the week after work and we cook together in the kitchen or we will watch movies after work in the family game room ( he's not allowed in my room). We prefer hanging out in the house as opposed to going out because going out costs money. since we are trying to save we never go out, we just hang out at my parents house. My dad gets off work early so he's always there when we are hanging out. I wonder if it makes him feel awkward or uncomfortable though? He was acting weird last night when we watched a movie upstairs in the game room. After me and my boyfriend finished watching the movie i had to pee so i went to the restroom closest to me the restroom by my room and then me and my boyfriend went downstairs on the opposite stairway and so my dad was like " why yall went down that stairway that was weird" I was like " it was close to the bathroom". I hope he seriously doesnt think we would be disrespectful enough to have sex in someone else's house. We are both extremely respectful. we don't even cuddle or hold hands around my parents. |

She said shes not mad but shocked because she wanted more notice so that way we could of went shopping together for apartment stuff and do fun things. Shes not mad just shocked but gave me a hug. Also i feel like i will regret this because i will miss living at home with family. Why do I feel like a jerk? She says i did nothing wrong but I feel like i did. |
Posted: 16 Jan 2019 06:23 PM PST To make a long story short and to spare the explicit details. I was in a threesome with one female and another male. Me and the guy DP'd the female repeatedly while taking turns. It was safe, fun, with consent, and under the assumption with good contractives. Turns out she's pregnant which is understandable since I knew the consequences. But now the female wants to know the father, is calling all kinds of people (parents included), and threatens to tell ALL which we did that night including the clown costume part. I just want to tell my parents to rid some of this anxiety and before she flips the lid, advice? |

Question: I want to hang out with my older sister but I’m not sure how to approach her? Posted: 16 Jan 2019 05:09 PM PST I'm 29 and my sister is 31. Her and I have become closer since she moved out, got married and had a baby boy. She's told me she loves me and our relationship is somewhat open. Yet she's not a big talker and she has a lot going on in her life between being a wife and mother. I want to spend more time with her and hang out with her. I've really come to admire her since she became a family person, she's matured. |

Question: Is listening to music while studying really that bad? Posted: 16 Jan 2019 03:16 PM PST My parents have decided, for my junior year of highschool to take away my headphones because they supposedly distract me. I don't believe that's true, in fact i think it's the only thing that's probably kept my sanity for the past two years. Since I need to study at school after-school, I have to stay for ~ 4 hours every day, in a media center that is constantly noisy. Or hallways with people running by and yelling. It's just never quiet. I HATE trying to study in a noisy room, and every time I've tried i just get gradually more and more angry, and i decide, i'm not studying at all until i get home, effectively wasting the next 4 hours. I used to be able to deal with it due to music, but my parents are arguing that i would do better listening to a room full of other students talk and laugh then drowning it out with music. It's not as if it's quiet at home either, the roaring noise of the vent, conversations, blaring of music, or singing. I can't exactly ask them to all be silent, and they won't let me study in the room, and i have to study in the dining room that's connected to the kitchen. This really just doesn't work for me, but they won't believe me when I say that it's really helpful for me. |
Question: My dad says I’m running from myself what could that mean? Posted: 16 Jan 2019 02:56 PM PST |
Posted: 16 Jan 2019 02:49 PM PST Professors think it's a very bad thing, but I don't see what's wrong with working an extra day per week to help parents/sister out |

Posted: 16 Jan 2019 02:19 PM PST And downright mean how do I deal with this how do I let the hurt go now I've just recently moved to her house and she's threatening to kick me out even though I have no other place to go what to do |
Posted: 16 Jan 2019 02:18 PM PST She said she wants to live with her grandparents (my parents) in San Antonio Texas. My parents said that it would be okay so she can finish high school the same place she started kindergarten in. My husband has said, No, not an option. That she belongs with her family. I am not really sure why this would be a bad thing. She can see us for every holiday and we will be bringing my two younger ones to visit my family sometimes. What is wrong with this idea? My parents are good people. They raised 5 kids of their own and they know what our wishes are for our children. Am I missing something that my husband understands? |
Posted: 16 Jan 2019 06:08 AM PST over 30 years! Why would he think I would want life insurance money or anything else from him? He hated me and I hated him! Life insurance is stupid anyway! It's just blood money! Making me your life insurance recipient won't ease your guilty conscience about the horrible way you treated me, Daddy Dearest! I'm so glad you're dead and in Hell where you belong!!! |
