Posted: 23 Jan 2019 01:10 PM PST My granpa passed away last month. He was married with my grandma until she died in the year 2000. During WWII he was in the pacific in the Marines, then he became a gp after the war and married my grandma. They had known each other since they were 16 (awww... I wish I would find that kind of love lol.). Anyway after the war he became a gp. My grandma died in 2000 of leukemia. My grandpa lived these last 18 years well, but all he really wanted was to be with her again. At his funeral I assumed not many people would show up.He was old after all. We live in a 30,000 people town. About 3,000 people showed up. He was buried with military honors. Lots of american flags,Marines in dress blues and stuff... He was a nice and kind man but he wasn't famous. How come 3,000 people showed up? Really,it's hard to describe the crowd. I really couldn't imagine that many people would show up |
Question: Should I go back home? Or stay and pursue my dream? Posted: 23 Jan 2019 10:31 AM PST Greetings, I m a boy that lived for 16 years in the Dominican Republic. Together with my mom, dad and younger brother. And now I live with my grandparents, more than 7000 kilometers away from home. I made the choice to move in with my grandparents to pursue my dream. A dream I ve had for as long as I can remember. To one day become a pilot. It was my choice to move out and pursue my dream. I used to go to a private school in the Dominican Republic because state school are just crap. But private schools in the Dominican Republic, regardless of their price, are not better than the schools of the country I m currently staying at. Right now it s hard at school (not socially though, I ve been able to make quite a lot of friends), due to the higher level of education. But that s not the biggest problem. The fact that my mom and dad are so far away makes it very hard in an emotional way. I do take a flight every vacation to go and spend some time with them. But it s still very hard for me and for my parents. I would love to be there right now, but I m trying to accomplish my dream. Now that I ve explained myself, a little bit at least. My question is: Should I go back to what I call home? Or should I stay where I m staying and pursue my dream? Thanks. |

Question: Does my stepmom have a right to annoy my mom? Posted: 23 Jan 2019 06:01 AM PST I am 15 years old .I live with my mom, My stepmom is always calling my mom about stupid things. She is annoying my mom. She called my mom demanding to know what my curfew is at my house which is 9pm on the weekdays and 10pm on weekends. She demanded that my mom change it to 7pm on week days and weekend 8pm. One time she call demanding to what my feeds me. One time she wanted to go to my doctor appointment with us. I love my dad and I want him to be happy so I never complain to him about my stepmom. I fellow my stepmom rules when I am her house. My stepmom thinks that I hate because I am always quite, but I don't hate her. I am very shy and it takes me a long time to get close to people. My mom told me if my doesn't stop bugging her with calls she isn't let me go to my dad's anymore. I begged my not to do that because i don't want hurt my dad My told me about my stepmom was calling her. One time my stepmom called my mom while she was driving and I heard the whole conversation because my mom had the phone Bluetooth. The only person in my family that I vent to is my grandma she has already told my mom to stop putting me in the middle. My grandma that told me when I was at my dad's that I needed to respect my stepmom rules just I respect my mom's rules. |
Posted: 23 Jan 2019 04:29 AM PST I already told her mother "would love to see them when they pass through" and her mother said "I will let you know". That was back at Christmas. From there I just figured I'd wait for them to call me so I am not imposing. The cousin is recently divorced and moving with her kids. I have a phobia of seeming disloyal to family but as a result I go overboard sometimes. So should I re-make my offer from 3 or 4 weeks ago or just leave it and wait to see if they call? Which is disloyal? My parents were disloyal to one branch of my Mom's family due to her parents' divorce. I want to rise above that and this that is the reason for the phobia. I am 30 and female. |
Question: How do I get my Dad and step-mother interested in having a relationship with me? Posted: 23 Jan 2019 04:19 AM PST Right now they only see me weddings and funerals and only the weddings I am asked to, some in my Dad's family don't ask me since they don't know me real well due to the estrangement caused by my parents' divorce. I am not the one at fault though. It hurts so much. I am 16 and male. |

Question: Do step moms cause problems for the kids? Posted: 23 Jan 2019 12:48 AM PST Like is it true when the dad witj kids remarries another time doesn't the step mom cause problems for the kids? Like in Cinderella and Snow white? |
Question: So fed up with being here? Posted: 22 Jan 2019 09:48 PM PST I live with an alcoholic dad and he is terrible. He makes me so depressed and stressed out. I dont have any money saved but i know i need to get out of here as soon as i can. I live in California, how much money should i have saved to where i can move out to an apartment and live comfortably? Thank you |
Question: My Moms Boyfriend Is constantly at our House.? Posted: 22 Jan 2019 09:32 PM PST Ok so my mom just got a new boyfriend and he was actually our electrician. It's kinda ruining our relationship since she always defends him now. My mom and I are super close and my dad lives in another state but I visit him often. Back to the point, my mom started inviting him over to stay the night, over and over again even when she tells me he won't stay the night. I've talked to her about and she says that I'm out of line and she ignores the fact that she isn't keeping her word to me. I wish they never met, and I wish i had a sibling to at least have another teen like me (I'm 14 btw). What do I do? Is it normal what she's doing, or is she a bad parent? Why isn't he doing anything about it? (Sorry so many questions but seriously) |
Question: What are things to give/pay tribute to grandfather? Posted: 22 Jan 2019 09:16 PM PST I'm a girl and I usually bring flowers and other random things to my grandmother. He still seems happy when she gets something, as if they've both recieved it. But the other night he mentioned I shouldn't be spending "all my money" just bringing my grandmother flowers, and that's when I realized I haven't really brought him anything.. He's generally "left out", gifts for both of them are more towards what our grandmother would want.. I even found a cute little "sculpture" a while back that resembles grandmother and granddaughter by a brand WillowTree (they're pretty nice), but the only one they had including a grandfather was a little boy by his side but we don't have any grandsons... So I really don't have anything in my room dedicated to my grandfather like I do my grandmother.. And I prefer they see that I'm remembering both of them and paying "respects" to both of them before they're gone... What else can I do for my grandfather? And what's something I can bring him when I bring my grandmother flowers? I want them both smiling from recieving something, not just my grandmother... (He usually loves building/repairing; 75yrs old and is still building sheds in the backyard by himself...) |
Question: Am I overreacting over my brother telling people embarrassing story about me? Posted: 22 Jan 2019 08:46 PM PST So for some reason my brother has brought up a childhood story about me several times through the years about how when I was 8 my cousin had hit me in the face with a can opener and busted my lip open. I've just tried to disregard it in the past, but I'm tired of hearing about it. He tells this story to people, and I don't really appreciate it. I would prefer to never have to hear about it ever again. I NEVER bring up childhood stories about him, but he feels like he's entitled to tell anyone about any childhood experiences of mine. He feels like I'm overreacting, but it's easy for him to say when he's not the one who experienced it. I'm just tired of hearing about it whatsoever. What are your thoughts? |
Question: Should I voodoo him out my crib or wait until I can remove my ex effectively out my crib? Posted: 22 Jan 2019 08:37 PM PST My ex lives with me. We have a child and now he is paying all of the rent and cable bills because I'm on workers COMP from getting hurt at work. I can't afford to pay my own rent right now. I know you're probably saying what's the issue besides him being an ex. It's really deep. Things went south with us 2yrs ago when I was pregnant. He wasn't the best man and I spent a lot of time by myself crying and thinking. Finally had my daughter things got better but that was temporary. We ended things for good Oct 2017. I told him to move out. He said he would, still waiting a whole year later. But now I'm stuck dealing with him cause I can't pay my own rent. He has been very disrespectful to me. I told him I didn't care who or what he does just don't do it in my house. And when I go over to my moms for the weekend he invites whomever over to my house. How I know?? I've found female nails. As of recently Jan 14 and Jan 22 I found strands of black hair dyed blue. I found it all over my bathroom, in my child's tub. Then I found 6-7 strands all over my pillows in my room. I am highly disgusted...and beyond angry. My child and I sleep in that bed. I don't know what to do. |
Question: Why do “Golden Child” siblings secretly hate you? Posted: 22 Jan 2019 08:09 PM PST I have a sister who is older then me.. has 2 children and is a single mother. Everything I do she has to say something about it.. if I go shopping she asks me what did I get her or she tells my narcissist mom so later on I can get yelled at for spending my own money instead of buying things for the house which I also do.. my sister is always asking me where I'm at who I'm with and she always gives me the cold shoulder when my moms around.. but when she needs something from me she acts so nice and sweet so does my mom... can someone please help me understand this behavior. |

Posted: 22 Jan 2019 05:31 PM PST When I was 22-23 I travelled to Europe, I went to Ukraine, Russia, France, England and Ireland. I speak Russian fluently, and Ukrainian well as well as French fairly well so I would flirt with the local babes. Me and this one girl lets call her Dasha, dated while doing the study abroad and I got a Facebook message from her. She's living in Brighton Beach NY, and she has a son and she knows that Im the father. She sent me a picture and the kid at three looks just like me minus my eye color, he has his mother's green eyes. She said that she thought I should now about my son, she is a single mother who works as a waitress. She told me that she would've told me sooner but she couldn't find a way to contact me. Heres the catch, she said that the her son has amblyopia and needs surgery on the eyes and that she needs my help for paying for it. Im 25 she's 21. What do I do? Im so overwhelmed. |

Question: Anybody else obsessed with Queen after watching the movie ? Posted: 22 Jan 2019 04:52 PM PST Me and my wife are obsessed she already loved them but now she loves them more even our kids who are 3 and 1 love them. Our son is named Freddie named after Freddie Mercury of course. My daughter really loves them she has a crush on Roger and Freddie. I don't know how to tell her Freddie is dead. She's wanting to watch the movie really bad but I don't know if it's appropriate for her. We're taking her to see them this summer for their Bohemian Rhapsody tour she said she wants to meet Roger and give him a hug she wants to meet Freddie too I don't know what to tell her. She's gonna be upset when she finds out about him. She's watched all their videos on YouTube she hasn't seen any recent new videos or new pictures of them yet she thinks they still look that young. My wife has a crush on Brian. We went to the science center today my daughter had her headphones in the entire time listening to them. Her favorite songs are Radio Gaga and One Vision. My son loves them too they sing together all the time. Is anybody else obsessed with them ? How can I talk up my daughter about Freddie ? |
Posted: 22 Jan 2019 04:34 PM PST My grandpa remarried and I noticed she called my mom and her siblings her step daughters but she didn't call my cousins her grandkids. Is that normal or is that odd? |
Question: Why doesn't my mom like me? Posted: 22 Jan 2019 04:03 PM PST It feels like it has almost always been this way. I'm a teenager now, but since 3rd grade it really feels like my mom doesn't like me. She always calls me an entitled brat, that I'm a pig, etc. Whenever she says these things she yells at me until I leave and start crying. She never says them to my other sibling, EVER. Even when my sibling curses at her, she will never say mean things back. I never curse at my mom, or even at all in front of her. I try to give her gifts but she never seems to care too much for them. I don't know how to get my mom to like me. I have tried changing my personality for her but it doesn't work and I can't stop crying about it because nothing is working. My friends don't like my mom because of this and they tell me to try and move on, but I CAN'T! I just don't know why she resents me SO much. She has even said to my face she doesn't like spending time with me. I wish she did, I really, really wish she spent time with me. I don't know if I should move on, I don't even know if I should confront her because I know she will scream at me and call me a brat. What am I supposed to do? |
Posted: 22 Jan 2019 02:56 PM PST It is obviously not close family however I knew the woman. I am into genealogy so know lots of these distant relatives and I work for family but due to busy schedule I am only going to take off for the funeral if it is convenient. There haven't been any funerals in 2 years other then an employees but there could be at some point and a great-uncle is currently ill. So is it disloyal when it is someone I know but this distantly related? I skipped the last one since it was a grandparent's 2nd cousin I had only met once. I was disloyal as a kid cause my Mom had issues with her family. As an adult I try to show I am not like that. This is my Dad's side of the family which we have always been close to but my hyper loyalty is on both sides. |
Question: How do i get my mom to stop following me everywhere? Posted: 22 Jan 2019 09:06 AM PST this is so embarrassing. whenever i'm invited to a party, field trip, dance, etc., she also wants to come along, because she is asian and really embarrassing. she wears weird fat clothes and speaks chinese to me, i want to give her cuckoo signs and slap myself in the face. she also comes to school with me and sits next to me in class. she even sometimes gets on my bed to sleep with me, so i just sleep on a 1-man sleeping bag every night downstairs. she also says she wants to go with me to college, just to "make sure i'm behaving". i know how to behave: don't do drugs, don't have sex before marriage, don't flirt, don't cuss, don't gossip, and do well in school, and be helpful and respectful to teachers and bosses. but she still wants to follow me everywhere. all my friends laugh at me. please help. i'm a 16 year old girl, so please take that into account. i'll be off to college in 1.5 yrs. |
