Generally I want to have these "deep" and meaningful connections with people. This person is very unique to me, because I do NOT often become interested in someone like this. And that's why I would consider it a huge loss if this friendship were to go lost. So, I've got a problem. They never initiate conversation with me, I'm always the one who does. Although whenever I do talk to them, they seem enthusiastic. They are good at keeping the conversation alive, too. But, after like an hour or so it just kind of dies off. I'm always the last person to say something. I genuinly enjoy chatting with them though. But since they never initiate, it makes me question if they care whatsoever. Well, my ego takes a hit every time I force myself to say something, because I have never been the one who "pursued". Not used to it. My interest for them does not fade with anything they say, and no matter how many days go by with me not interacting with them. However, I lose motivation to initiate conversations because they never reciprocate in that regard. This kind of just leaves me feeling troubled and thinking about how to solve this. Because, I feel like if I do talk to them, it'll just be the same thing repeating itself. Our friendship can't become a truly good one at this rate. Note: They have ADHD, which MAY explain the not-initiating thing. I did some research about the disorder. Summary: I'm afraid that this friendship will go nowhere and stay where it is, or die off, which I don't feel satisfied with. Please, tell me what you'd do in this situation. |

I have this "friend' that I have known for one and a half years, we live in different time zones and only ONCE in the time we have known each other has he messaged me asking what I was up to. I for the rest of the time have always had to be the one to start the conversation. I've asked him about it, and he's given a range of excuses from "being too lazy playing video games" and that "he even does this to his family and they think he is dead or something". Sometimes he is busy, and I have left messages due to wanting to talk with him and at times he has taken 25 days, 17 days, 15 days to reply!!! According to him, whenever he sees a message from me, it makes him smile and he "loves talking with me". But I'm just not seeing that. I've been waiting 2 weeks now to see if he will message me first but he has not. Previously a couple weeks ago I waited a week and I received a notification from him, I was completely surprised and opened the message to see it. He sent me a photo of what he was EATING with the word "delicious". Then he sent me a photo of some social event he was at. This really annoyed me, and I just feel like dropping this friendship. I really don't want to but at the same time I really do. I want to stay friends with him but at the same time I just want to drop him completely and continue on with my life as I have too much respect for myself to just suffer. |

Always,My last classes of the day are always at the bottom building, and the school buses are located at the top. I always talk to my friends on the way up, so I guess that kind of slows me down, but its a really tiring walk to go to my bus because I have to go up a hill, then go this way, and its kind of complicated (I know I sound lazy, but, I would really hate to run to the bus everyday and ditch my friends. Anyways, the bus was full today (the buses are usually overcrowded) and I saw 2 girls in my seat. I then asked the girl who was sitting in the seat next to them if I could sit with her (as a matter of fact we were on the same basketball team) She was like "This aint your seat,that one is." She said it rudely to. I then had to sit next to this guy who NEVER lets anyone sit next to him. He was literally putting his feet on me pushing me out. I don't know why people on the bus hate me considering I never even talk on the bus. Like at all. I guess they hate me cause I'm ugly. So I ended up sitting next to this guy on the bus who didn't want me sitting next to him either, but he didn't do anything and I felt like crying. Then the bus driver talked to me when I got off, and she was holding up 2 students and 1 one of them was like "Ugh" and she said it rudely too and it was embarrassing having the bus driver talk to me about my assigned seat. Posted: 05 May 2016 03:19 PM PDT I'm not really close with anyone during the offseason but that's my fault since I'm usually quiet and I just now stopped being shy, plus I was on the other team. Anyway, this girl is on the team and I don't know if the other girls like her or not. (I don't even know if they like me haha) and one day we were doing a drill and I made her fell (on accident) and I went to help her up as a teammate but she said don't help me up in a rude matter and I didn't know how to feel except mad. After that I noticed that at the end of practice at when we line up and say good game, she always misses my hand on purpose. Sometimes she gives me dirty looks and ignores me while trying to join the "popular girls" (They're nice to everyone, it's a pretty nice school) that are on the team's convo. They gravitate towards me for some reason and I think there's resentment. She always tries to get out of running and is always the "sub" during drills, so even the coaches don't care so she's an obvious bench player. I'm pretty out of shape so when I'm fatigued I'm at her running level, so I think we're pretty much at the same skill level but the other girls think otherwise. I know this situation is childish af since were at the high school level but what can I do about this? |

I go to a very preppy private school in a nice suburban city. Yet my life just seems to be a series of rejections, most of which occur at my school. I just got rejected for the THIRD time from my schools a capella group. And this was my last shot bc i will be a senior. Singing has been my dream since forever and now i feel as though it has been crushed. Another dream that my school crushed was field hockey. I was the star athlete at my old school and here, i was the ONLY junior who DIDNT make varsity. And im quitting next season. I applied for numerous other programs in my school that i was interested in a nd got rejected by all. I feel as if i have been denied the right to find my passion! And now colleges will look at my applications and think that i didnt bother to get involved in anything when truthfully, i tried my hardest and was denied! Dont even get me started on the problems i have at home with my abusive mother. And then in terms of boys, NO ONE, i repeat, NO ONE i have ever been interested in has ever liked me back. Ive barely had my first kiss and im 17!! And ive been told by many people how pretty i am! Am i so awkward that i have begun to repel all males??And i have terrible backstabbing friends who i am starting to cut off so truthfully, i have NO friends. Anyways me and the guy I like are good friends and I really want to do something messy with him. I'm talking about mud fight, shoving a custard pie in his face, pushing his face into a pile of mud, pouring slime on his head and face, grabbing a bucket of mud and a big paint brush dip the brush in the mud and paint the mud all over his face and hair and all over him. His birthday is soon so I was thinking of singing happy birthday and then shoving his face into the birthday cake. Spraying whipped cream down his shirt and pants and the shove a handful of whipped cream and chocolate syrup in his face. And last but not least make him a human cake! Which means: crack an egg on his head pour four and sugar on him and vanilla, dip a paint brush (clean) into chocolate butter cream frosting his smother the frosting all over his face and beard. Oh! I also forgot I'm a cheerleader and he's a basketball player so I would do these things to him while I was in my cheer uniform and he was I his basketball uniform 😊 my suggestion is how do I suggest this to him? |

Posted: 05 May 2016 01:33 PM PDT I was on Instagram and on an account there was an argument about fuckboys and hoes and how my whole school was made up of them, including me but I started going at the girl saying this stuff and eventually so did half of my grade (8th) and she wouldn t stop sayin anything even though it was like 80 people to 1 then, she tried to be all lovable and sweet and innocent by saying sorry and stuff like that, once we all believed her she came right back and started talking trash agin, then we all started arguing about it, and once again she finally stopped, and she started saying stuffs like oh I m gonna kill myself oh my god this isn t even hurting me, your words could never hurt me you bullies. Then everyone started okay go ahead do whatever you want with yourself, then the next morning came and now she s talking all this stuff and people start hauling at her once again. Later that day rumors went around that her, her mom, and cops were in the schools office, but then nobody got into trouble. If I m correct, the school can t do anything right? It wasn t on school property? And yes I was talking trash to her in self defense because she was just bullying random people in the comment section. Now what happens? |

So she mentioned it to her friend about a week ago. And her friend came over on Monday and I asked so did you guys talk about hanging out? She said yeah she had to talk to her husband because he's so busy with work. We said okay we're wanting to go in May because our tickets expire at the end of the month. So far no response. I'm just wondering if it would seem too clingy or desperate to follow up with where things stand? Also when is it time to take a hint? I'd think after asking 3 times, if they don't give an answer they aren't interested. I don't have people over for sleepovers or anything because I don't like to. It drains me; I'm an introvert. However, I'm not disliked at school. People often hug me and talk to me about their problems and I do the same. I would think this is friendship, even though I'm not talking to them outside of my school life. I'm not interested in talking to people after school hours are done. But I always have people I can talk to and can rely on Also please describe how you would define a friend. And perhaps a counter claim towards my mother saying that I have none? |

When we're on a date, I feel like he really likes me. He kisses me (he's respectful never tries to sleep with me or anything), holds my hands....he plans fun dates, asks me hundreds of questions.. But then after the date I may not hear from him sometimes for 5 or so days. Not one text or phone call until he wants to go out again. it feels weird to me. I would think if he was actually interested in me that he would contact me more often but he doesn't. Any thoughts? |

Posted: 05 May 2016 11:51 AM PDT So about 3 weeks ago, my friend asked me if I wanted to come with her and her mom on a trip to Florida on the week of May 15th. The only thing is I would be graduating on May 15th, so I said I can meet up with them on Monday, the 16th. I found a REALLY cheap price - only $42 going one way, but then repetitively I kept asking her what flight are they taking back so that we can all just leave together instead of just leaving at different times. She told me once she finds out, she'll let me know. Randomly here and there I would keep asking her, and she wouldn't respond back to my text. Finally, last Tuesday, she told me that they were taking Jet Blue in the morning (STILL don't know what time). I got a bit busy, and then decided to check the airline prices on Thursday - they tripled. So instead of paying $42 one way, I would have to pay $150. My mom said she would have given me the money, but since I also need a new phone AND we are going to Dubai the week after, she made a deal with me - either get a new phone or go on the trip to Florida. I decided on a new phone since my current phone is really broken. I told me friend this and that I will keep checking airline prices, and she didn't respond back. I even asked her if she's going to an event tonight, and all what she said was "Nah". Was I in the wrong? |

Posted: 05 May 2016 10:39 AM PDT My best friend was in a tight spot 3 months ago and she needed a place to live. I of course said she could stay with me as long as she chipped in for rent and cleaned up a little around the house. Things started fine. She paid me $200 and we came up with an agreement that she would be in charge of cleaning the kitchen and doing the dishes etc. in exchange for me paying the other $345 in rent and the $150 in utilities. (At the time she was only working part time) I felt like that was a more than fair arrangement. On top of this she uses my car whenever she needs it as she doesn t have one of her own. Well 3 months later and I haven t seen another dime from her (she got fired 2 weeks ago too) and the dishes/kitchen are almost always a mess. I m not a clean freak by any means and I admit that sometimes I leave a mess around the house too so I let it slide for a little bit. Now I m getting irritated by it though. I have a tendency to be a little mean when people are upsetting me and so I m afraid that if I say anything to her she ll be upset. I don t want her to feel like I don t want her there but I d really like if she started holding up her end of the bargain on a more regular basis. I m tired of having to deal with it on my own and it s stressing me out. Any tips on how I should deal with this or what I could say to her that will get my point across without being too harsh? |

I'm very short and people were surrounding them and supposly my best friend got beat very badly but I could see anything . I finally got through the crowd and the fight broke up , I grabbed my best friend and we ran off . So now hours go by and people are talking **** about me saying I'm fake and a bad friends for no helping , literally everybody is on my case , I stayed home from school because I'm sick and I didn't wanna deal with everybody talking **** about me. I got several calls and text from people saying EVERYBODY is saying you are fake . People at my school are very childish and will say hurtful things they like to bully . I have 3 weeks of school left and I really don't wanna go . I'm very sensitive! I always have sucidal thoughts, being bullied is just something I can't deal with . What should I do ?! | Question: My friend always follows me? Posted: 05 May 2016 09:57 AM PDT This isn't much of a question --- more of a rant and am open to hearing other's opinions. I have a friend within our group of friends, that always follows everyone else -- literally follows everything we do -- the way we talk, where we go, how we act. Whenever anyone wants to do something, we'll invite him and he immediately follows. Yet he'll never have any plans of his own or take any initiative and never invite us out to anything. He just follows. Everything he says and how he acts is just an exact copy of us. Pretty much all the friends he has is because of everyone else in the group, but he never introduces his other friends to us or invite us to things. I don't know what I'm trying to say but I just find this behavior to be so odd to me. He's in his late 20's, has his own place and a job he's complacent with, and I've just never met anyone that's as much of a follower as he is before. |
