Question: Do I HAVE to ask my fiancé's sister-in-law to be a bridesmaid? Posted: 03 May 2015 10:12 PM PDT Let me start by saying that my fiancé's brother and his fiancé will be getting married this summer and about a year ago when they got engaged, she asked me to be a bridesmaid (mostly because she has no friends - just being honest). We used to get along when we first met, but now we cannot even stand being in the same room as each other. She obviously does not like me and just being around her makes me uncomfortable. We definitely do not see eye to eye and she is quite often very rude to me. We are literally in the same house as each other 4 out of the 7 days a week, and the only contact we have is when I say hi and she sort of says hi back. Am I justified in not asking her to be a bm? |
Question: Ideas for ring bearer gifts? Posted: 03 May 2015 09:17 PM PDT I have a 6yr old and a 1yr old for ring bearers and can't figure out what to get them, any help appreciated. |
Question: Is is worth it to go on a honeymoon? Also, where to? Posted: 03 May 2015 09:14 PM PDT We should have the money, but we are also buying our first house soon and could use the money for furniture or savings. But I hear people regret it if they don't and we were thinking about Mexico. Any one have better suggestions? We are from Michigan. |
Question: Am I over reacting to fiance staying out? Posted: 03 May 2015 08:58 PM PDT Hi, my fiance and I have been together nearly 10 years and when we got together she was a bit of a party animal but did calm down a bit but the last few months she has gone back to her old ways and every few weeks she goes out and doesn't come back for days.Twice in the last month she has gone out on the Friday night and not come home till Sunday night, at the moment she went out on Saturday morning and is still not back and it's Monday morning.I am getting really sick of this now and don't know what to do as we just bought a house together last year. |

Question: How can I trim my wedding guest list? Posted: 03 May 2015 08:04 PM PDT My fiance' and I want to have a small and simple wedding. We are both very frugal and would rather spend the money on a nice honeymoon or put it towards a house. We are also both very introverted and prefer not to be the center of attention. I'm having a very hard time keeping the guest list small. Without hurting anyone's feelings, I have managed to get it down to 90 people. The problem is, I have a large family: -My immediate family (3 sisters, +their husbands and children) -My father's side of the family (I am very close with my aunts and uncles) -My late biological mother's side (Not close-I honestly don't even care if they're there or not) -My step-mother's side (Not close, but I'm afraid of hurting their feelings or my step-mom's feelings) My fiance's family is a small group of people so there's really no room to cut people. We aren't even considering inviting college friends or co-workers. A total of 8 of our best friends and that's all. Any suggestions on how to cut down our list to 50-60 people? |

Question: Where to look for specific fabric colors for bridesmaid dresses in Calgary? Posted: 03 May 2015 06:58 PM PDT I am looking for a very specific shade for my bridesmaid dresses and am wondering about particular shops that offer swatches or the ability to make different dresses in the same shade. I want my bridesmaids to be able to perhaps wear different dresses in the same shade. Does anyone know of places in Calgary that would do this, or has anyone had good experiences with particular websites? |

Question: How can I change my last name to my married name? Posted: 03 May 2015 03:40 PM PDT I got married last Saturday (April 25th), and now that I'm back from the honeymoon I'm trying to find the easiest way to change my name. If you changed your last name, or know someone who has, could you recommend the way you think works best? I know there are online places you can pay to have the process simplified for you, but I don't know which one I should use, or if it would be a waste. Thank you so much. Any input is appreciated. |
Question: Limiting alcohol at my wedding? Posted: 03 May 2015 03:40 PM PDT To be honest, I do not want alot of drinking going on at my wedding. My uncles sometimes go too far and I want to prevent that. I know they may complain, but I do not want to spend hundreds of dollars for each persons drinks.. So should I limit 3-5 drinks per person? |

Posted: 03 May 2015 12:23 PM PDT So my future husband and I agree that we want a small wedding, just close friends and family. (50-60 people) but we want it in the city (2 hours from most of my family, 45 minutes from most of his) is this a bad idea? Should we have it closer? Its on a Saturday |
Posted: 03 May 2015 10:28 AM PDT It was a HUGE fight over his drinking too much and hanging out with his drinking buddies too much. It ended with him hurting me and screaming in my ear (he was drunk) and I told him to get out, we are done (you say things you don't mean during a fight). I did suffer from some dizziness, but I am better now. He moved next door with his drinking buddies. We own a house together, all his stuff is still here. I let him be. Finally I broke down and texted him to let me know whenever he is ready to talk. All he texted back was "K'. Today, I needed a key to our shed so I asked if it was ok to stop by and it. He said "K" and "it's hanging outside on metal post". I walked over to get it. He came out of the garage and said "what do you want?" I said " i want to talk, So how are you?" He said " I am fine, i am busy working, leave me alone".I said fine. I'll leave you alone. When I got back home, I texted him " As you can see I am fine now. I saw a chiropractor who thinks the dizziness was from my neck, thanks for asking". (I was hurt. He didn't even apologize for hurting me, didn't even ask how I was?) I did notice he couldn't look at me the whole time. What do you think of his behavior? How should I proceed with him? What should I do? I did stop by a local convenience store today he frequents. The cashier who is friends with him asked me if the bag of ice I was buying was for him. I said no. We havn't talked in over two weeks. We had a huge fight. He asked if he is still living at the house. I said no, he moved next door. He asked why we fight all the time, I said because he drinks too much. He said he will be back. He misses you. I said "I don't know". He said he would talk to him and his dad. He goes there every day. I said ok. I went back a few hours later after I know my fiance went there. The cashier looked mad and didn't bother talking about it anymore. I guess it went badly? Oh, and he never responded to my text that I was fine. Why? Doesn't he care that he hurt me? |

Question: Wasn't invited to my boyfriend's sister's wedding? Posted: 03 May 2015 08:26 AM PDT Yesterday was my boyfriend's sister's wedding and I wasn't invited. My boyfriend and I have been together for 9 months, I've been over to his house, his parents knows me well and his parents, sister and her fiance talk about the wedding openly in front of me. I didn't give the whole thing much thought, but whenever I talk to someone outside of this and I off handedly say I wasn't invited they all have the same shock reaction. I finally asked someone why everyone responds like that. The person told me it's not etiquette to not invite a girlfriend of a bride's/groom's sibling to their wedding and if they can't then atleast talk to me about it why they can't. Or at the very least have my boyfriend talk to me about how I feel about the whole situation which he never did. Which leads me to my boyfriend. He hasn't talked to me since two days before the wedding and as of today still haven't got anything. But yesterday he did email me a Google Doc invitation to his wedding speech for me to proofread and edit. Again, I didn't give much thought to the whole situation. He has an attention deficit disorder so I try to be mindful and patient and seperate the symptoms from the person. Although, I do sometimes wonder when does it stop being the symptoms and start being the person? What do you think? Should this be something I should be concerned about? |
Question: Is it rude to have a reception after a small destination wedding? Posted: 03 May 2015 07:35 AM PDT Would you be offended if you were invited to a reception like celebration to celebrate a couples vows that were taken at a destination wedding? |
Question: Should I invite my friend to my wedding although she did not invite me to her's? Posted: 03 May 2015 07:35 AM PDT She & I were best friends in college. I even lived with her and her college boyfriend. She told me to definitely invite me to my wedding and that she would kill me if I was getting married and she would not know. However, when she got married to that college boyfriend, not only did she not invite me, but she did not even tell me! A part of me does not think it logical to invite her after she did not invite me. A part of me still wants to invite her. Also, when she said to definitely invite me to her wedding, it was also agreed then she would invite me to her's. I am not asking this question because any part of me thinks I should live up to my promise to invite her then. I am asking since a part of me wants her there. |

Question: Restaurant or under the gazebo? Posted: 03 May 2015 07:29 AM PDT So I'm having a destination wedding in Florida with just immediate family. About 20 people. Then having a big reception when I get home. Anyways, I am renting a gazebo on the beach and the beach will be secluded in the evening. What do you think guests would prefer, to leave the beach after the ceremony and go to a nice restaurant. Or should we just bring in some catered food into the gazebo and hang out on the beach until sunset? What do you think sounds nicer for my guests? Budget wise, the cost is about the same. Thoughts? |
Question: Should I invite my friend to my wedding? Posted: 03 May 2015 07:26 AM PDT I thought she was the best friend I ever had. Earlier, there was no doubt that I would have her as my MOH and even pay for her flight to my wedding in an international location. We had a falling-out 2 1/.2 years ago and patched up six months ago. She said that I am now her friend again and am always her friend. However, she has not really contacted me or called me since she took me back. I know it would not be logical to have her as my MOH now or pay for her flight. But should I invite her? |
Posted: 03 May 2015 06:22 AM PDT I'm not a real short guy, I'm 5'9" which is fine. My fiancee is the same height as me, the person with shoes on is the one who looks taller. Anyways, around me she never wears high heels but does on girl's nights out and she loves really tall ones. Before we met she used to model and participated in a beauty pageant. I have actually never been around her while she is wearing high heels other than the ones she bought for the wedding. She has been wearing them around the house to practice in. These are them. http://www.aliexpress.com/item/2014-Beautiful-Stiletto-Heel-Peep-Toe-Wedding-Shoes-Fashion-Woman-s-Bridal-Dress-Shoes-for-prom/1876721921.html?plac&gclid=CL7Wwo_UpcUCFQwLaQod23AA3w&aff_short_key=UneMJZVf%3Fptsid%3D1020000000015001&albch=Google&netw=g&device=c&src=Google&cv=1020000000015001¤cyType=USD&isdl=y&af=ppc&crea=51413220145 She says they make her 6'3" and I notice that when she is wearing them around the house, my eyes are actually level with the middle of her neck and I have to look up just to see her lips, much less her eyes. She has told me that this is her day and she is going to look absolutely stunning and I admit she does look good with these shoes on. But will people be laughing at me or thinking less of me because I'll look so much shorter than her? |
Question: Rustic beach themed reception far from the beach? Posted: 03 May 2015 05:32 AM PDT I'm eloping to Florida to get married on the beach and it will just be immediate family. When I come back home way up North I will be having a big reception. Would it be weird to have it be a bit of a rustic beach themed decor? Even though it's an a non fancy indoor hall and far from the beach? |
