Posted: 03 Apr 2015 05:11 PM PDT So I was at school today and in science class we did this really cool project and saw how DNA looked like from a strawberry and well after we were done the bell rang and a lot of people left including my partner and the tube of strawberry DNA was still there and some people were still in class and I didn't know what they were doing so I left. I then was in the lunch line and one of the classmates called out my name and said. "YOUR GOING TO GET IN TROUBLE AFTER SPRING BREAK BECAUSE YOU AND YOUR PARTNER LEFT YOUR STRAWBERRY DNA ON THE TABLE. PLUS YOU DROPPED SOME OF IT!" First of all I didn't really know what to do and I panicked and some of it dropped because it was a messy assignment and the mess was probably from the time the strawberry was in the bag and we had to smash it. I know I probably shouldn't worry but I'm scared to get in trouble. Should I be worried? I mean the one who told me this is one of those girls who like to gossip and spread rumours...I don't know what to do! |

At the time I was focused on school and had my eye on a girl in one of my classes. I didn't really notice her and I approached her cautiously like how I would with any other girl I wasn't attracted to. Afterwhile I stopped seeing her around because of our schedules but this week I had my second class off so I started seeing her more often and I stayed and struck up a conversation and she's really cool and we like a lot of the same tv shows and she's sort of an artistic environmentalist which I find really cool. At this we've only scratched the service of what we could become(she has a boyfriend) but I hope we can become great friends and I was hoping we could be something more like great friends but its cool its not like I was really attracted to her. so far things are nice like we get along great I'm only slightly attracted to her which is more than everyone else. So what I want to know is why is she on my mind a lot? Like, oh I dunno a random group of birds or a picture in a shop. Also, they do routine activities (ie, brush teeth, shower) at odd times. They are very kind to some of our neighbours and actually quite cold (almost blatantly rude) to others. They seemingly get injuries, small ones like cuts or sprained joints or whatever, way more than the average person. When I ask if they are okay, they brush it off and give fake (I can tell) explanations. Finally, they have books on our bookshelves in other languages that I know they don't speak (so far I've seen Russian, French, and German for sure). They have been like this as long as I can remember. Plz if anyone has parents like this can you tell me what's up?! I'll start out by writing a little bit about myself. I'm a straight A college student (only 16 still, but in college), get the highest grades in my classes and overall am the type of kid that other parents tell their kids to be like. I'm not trying to blow up my own head here, but that's what it looks like. Actually, it's far from true. Unfortunately, only the outside looks like the strong, smart, and in-control looking person people think I am. Inside I am actually really broken, lost, confused, and ignorant. While I'm basically exceeding the type of life that parents usually want for their kids, it's killing me. I'm always depressed and moping. It needs to end. I'm tired of being the kid that is known only for acing his tests. I'm tiring of being the kid that people come to only to get help on homework. Every day in class I'm just this pathetic little teenager that is really boring. I'm so boring that one of my best friends doesn't even sit by me anymore. I need to change this! I always used to hang out with my friends every day before her and at the beginning of the relationship she allowed this to happen but around 1.5 years my friends said some mean things to her but not that bad she just doesn't take that stuff lightly. She doesn't understand because as guys we all do this, we make fun of each other and what not but she didn't understand and took it very offensively and started crying. I hate this happening, but it's already started again... However, I'm still at that stage where I get a euphoric feeling from being around him, and I miss him a lot right now, I'm pretty bored and it's going to be a boring weekend. What should I do? Have recently had to deal with putting up with a step dad who I can't stand, had fall outs with the same girl (a now ex friend) three times in the last 3 weeks and also fell out with another friend a while ago now, too. I'm feeling pressure from everywhere: school, other friends to sort out problems with the friend I no longer want to associate myself with and from home since my step dad wants to consistently criticize my every move and moan to my mum about everything I supposedly do 'wrong'. I'm also trying to work on my confidence as I can't even bring myself to talk to the guy I like and it's making me feel even worse. I just can't deal anymore and I wish I could just make it all go away even if it's just for the next two months. I feel like everything's just falling apart and am now emotionally drained to the point where I just want to give it all up. How can I help myself to get through these last two months successfully and move on from there? I've tried praying but it's honestly so hard to keep faith in Allah swt right now with all of this flooding my thoughts. Please help me. |

Posted: 03 Apr 2015 03:21 PM PDT When I was in high school didn't fit in with jock's, the skaters, the emos, or the band kids, or the Christian's, or the kids that were left out because they were weird. It wasn't until my senior year that I made some friends with the new kids in school they were 3 brothers and 1 sister, there dad was a doctor, and they were what I would call now the pretty kids. The kids that looked like models so they had a lot more going on for them, perfect genetics everything. Fast forward 10 years, the jocks have moved away, and the Christian kids have moved away, the emo kids and the weird kids, and the skaters all started dawning hat's, sleeveless T-shirts, and have become red necks. Now here's my issue after high school I went to a college in a very large city, that was in a completely different state. Moved back shortly after, to help now late parents. Every where I go dress professionally. Don't own a sleeveless T-shirt nor would I dream of buying one, don't own a duke dynasty hat. Heck didn't know what duck dynasty was until a year ago. Still look the same as did in high school, a straight pretty boy guess you could say. Women that are left here walk around in an outfit similar to Daisy Duke's. I get plenty of looks from the women, this has taken a toll on my love life though. They always want big fat bubba, instead of me. I'm an average height, muscular man, no blemishes. Have tried approaching the women here. But they always want the redneck or a black guy. |

We didn't really hang out that much back then (even though we were part of the same friend group) until college when everyone else left for other colleges. We stayed in the same city, so she decided to make plans for us to hang out a lot and at first I was like yeah sure sounds good, but then I got to really know her. I feel bad about being annoyed at her because she tries to be really nice and stuff but after a while it feels really forceful. She loves to bake, so she asked me if I'd like to have whatever she has leftover and I said no thanks since she goes to a different college and lives really far away from me. Then she does it anyways and buses all the way to my school and brings me food and now I feel bad/annoyed bc she's done all of this and I haven't done anything for her and didn't even ask her to do this. She acts like it's nothing but then brags about it to other people and I just sit there like you're not lying but i don't appreciate you using me to make you look good (except I don't say anything...). Another thing that I don't appreciate is that when we hang out she tends to take up the bulk of the convo and relates everything back to her, or how her life sucks. And if I want to talk about something that interests me she goes off on a tangent about how it doesn't relate to her and how she has no idea what I'm talking about. What should I do? I felt very attached to her. Even busy with work, school, and my own friends, I still managed to talk to her all the time. I thought it was interesting to have a friend from another country instead of the same ol' people I hung around in this American culture. but her, I think she used me for reasons. She had very low self esteem, no friends, a loner, etc. She always was manipulative, analytical, critical, etc. As she began to meet people and socialize with colleagues, and began to self-actualize and try to convince herself she had outgrown me, she still wanted to break up with me because she felt trapped and had no protections from me because I got her to her core. I talked to her a few weeks ago and she's still the same person, just channeled her issues differently. She changed her look, all she cares about is makeup, she goes clubbing, she can't stand not being around people - and she does all this to feel like she's fitting in, and the constant praise. She never used to be this way. She used to stay inside 24/7 and read. Does it sound like she used me? |

When I entered the new country I did chat them frequently at first but we slowly started drifting apart because we were both busy. They gradually started moving on and made even more friends. Here in my new country I have a few friends but they can never replace my old friends. With my old friends Inused to laugh everyday and hang out everyday but with my new friends I don't do any of that. They are so boring to be around. And don't tel me to find new friends or join sports because I know everyone in my grade and they already have their group of friends because they have been with each other for a long time. Thy are boring as well. I don't know what to do and this is stressing me out. My old friends seem like they are having so much fun because they go to sleepovers at their new friends house and I'm here alone on my phone the whole time. Help :( |

My close friend though she's told me how some people take it too far she does also. So I started to do it back to her so she sees how messed up. My closest friend is 19 and we have been friends for five years now and our families are very close to each other that people would think we are related. Well anyway I have noticed that my friend is very protective of me. For example yesterday he gave me a huge lecture about me not doing my homework and not getting good grades in school as we both go to the same college. He also got annoyed at me when I put my head down while we where do math homework together. He always lectures me when ever I do something wrong like me not helping around the house and me not taking care of my car. He also protects me from anyone that tries to hurt and bully me and no one has and I think the reason is he is 6ft 4in and I am 5'4 1/2. I am not mad or annoyed at this so why is it that he is really over protective of me? |

Posted: 03 Apr 2015 12:11 PM PDT On my daughters birthday, first thing in the morning my mom posts a long, happy birthday Facebook status regarding the bday. I know it's just Facebook, but I was annoyed that she'd "steal my thunder" on announcing my girl's birthday. I haven't said anything to her but it annoys me. If I'm over reacting, do say. Then at 9am she calls... says she is coming over. I say we are busy. An hour later, she comes anyways. By that time, I was putting her down for nap so we don't answer the unexpected visitor. 15 mins later she calls me saying she is at my door waiting, I say sorry, I didn't hear and I'm putting her down for her nap and we hang up. A few minutes later, she texts and asks to come in while she naps to decorate my house. I don't respond, not sure what to say I'm PO'd at her. I would like to enjoy some of this day with my family before relatives come over. But I'm sometimes territorial so I don't know if I'm being irrational? |
