Question: Should I keep it short? Posted: 31 Mar 2015 11:00 PM PDT So I've picked out the perfect ring and I'm still deciding where to "pop the question" and what exactly to say. There's so much I want to say about us, how I've been crazy about her since high school (when we first met), how I love watching her sleep in on weekends, how I even love the sound of her voice. I mean it's things I've said countless times before but I still feel strongly about, but should I just keep it short and just ask? The proposal itself has been a long time coming, we've been together three years and I moved across the country with her for her job so it's not going to be a huge suprise, but I want this to be perfect. So should I keep it short? |
Question: How a non-temple/civil mormon wedding works? Posted: 31 Mar 2015 10:25 PM PDT I am a semi active member of the Mormon church. I would like to get married at our local stakehouse, but I need information on how their weddings work. my cousin recently got married in November and I arrived late so only got to enjoy the reception. but I heard from my aunt(the mother) that they don't walk down the aisle but do a ring ceremony instead. my dad is a Christian and is overly excited about walking me down the aisle and cant stop talking about it and I don't wanna hurt his feelings if he cant. so my question is, is there an option of how the wedding ceremony goes? can we say our own vows and have a normal traditional wedding at this church? or do I have to go with a different venue? please I would really like as much detail from those who experienced it. I don't need to be given a lesson or need to hear your babble about your religious belief. thanks in advance :) just a reminder this is a "non-temple" wedding meaning its not happening in the temple. |
Come mi comporto? |

Question: Should I ask my fiancés sister to be a bridesmaid? Posted: 31 Mar 2015 06:29 PM PDT She's 1 year younger than me but we never became close. I have known her for about 8 years now. She never seemed to like me, whenever I would go over I would say Hi but only her parents said hi to me, she ignored me. Also, she lives an hour away from us now. So should I? Or no? I already have 4 girls in my wedding party |

Question: Wedding Ceremony Help? Posted: 31 Mar 2015 12:51 PM PDT My fiance and his family are Christian and my family is Catholic. We recently got engaged and we're trying to figure out what kind of ceremony we want to do. Both him and I want to keep both traditional ceremonies out of the picture while still embracing our belief in God. This way no feelings are hurt and everyone is happy. However, my mother has become a bit of a problem because she is adamant about us having a Catholic wedding like the rest of my siblings. Any advice to help her see my point in not following the tradition ceremony? Also, any ideas for a different ceremony? Thanks! |
Question: Budget Friendly Rockabilly Wedding Reception? Posted: 31 Mar 2015 12:44 PM PDT My fiancé and I are getting married in the end of June. We mutually decided on a rockabilly themed wedding with Candy Pink, Silver, & White as our colors. The venue we are having our ceremony & reception at is all outdoors (cross your fingers for us, we need a sunny day!!) The ceremony will be in a tree lined secluded area near a pond, & the reception will be in an open area. Almost all of the rockabilly & psychobilly weddings I've found on pinterest or just surfing the web were indoors & cost waaaaaay more money than we have to spend, but we don't want the cheesy cardboard cut out decorations from the major party stores either. We're all set with the clothes & music, but I am at an absolute loss with outdoor décor that won't break the bank. HELP!!!!!!!!! |

Thank you |
Question: Silly question? You bet. But I need to know!? Posted: 31 Mar 2015 10:14 AM PDT At your wedding, when it was time to "kiss the bride" what did you do? My fiancé is a full on French kisser. But I don't want to put on a show in front of our guests, you know? |

Question: If I used glitter duct tape to hold down my aisle runner would it ruin the floor? Posted: 31 Mar 2015 09:03 AM PDT I am getting married in a venue with wood floors. I made my own aisle runner that is all silver glitter. I just want to make sure the aisle runner doesn't move at all. |

Question: Is a Wedding Vows Certificate Required? Posted: 31 Mar 2015 07:53 AM PDT I just started some research on wedding vows and I came across something called a wedding vow certificate you can buy online, and some of them look very fancy & mite I add pricey. What is it, like just for the pastor to read from while he Marrys us, is it just a nice extra, or what? I mean I'm sure it doesn't absolutely have to be a beautiful certificate but traditionally is it required? |
Question: Will he propose soon? Posted: 31 Mar 2015 07:41 AM PDT My boyfriend and I will be together 3 years this June (2015). He tells me all the time that he wants to marry me and he even said something the other night after a few drinks about us getting married. We have lived together for 2 years this June and we are both very happy. He knows that I want to get married and he wants to too and he talks about some details that he thinks we should do or will do at the wedding (food, venue, etc.). I've asked him maybe 3 times (not nagging) in the past 7-8 months when we'll get married he just says "soon". The only reason I can't help thinking if he is actually going to propose to me is because back when we had only been dating for about 6 months, I remember him saying to me that a guy knows by 2 years if he wants to get married. So now I'm not sure if he doesn't want to get married or what he is waiting for. I know he has a decent amount of money (over $10k) in his savings, but we do also have to have some work done to the house (new Air Conditioner and gut the bathroom). Should I just keep waiting for him or should I say something to him? I don't want to nag him and I don't want to give him an ultimatum, but I do want to get married. We are both 30 years old, if that matters. I would like guys perspectives, but everyone should weigh in. Thanks!! Messykat: I agree with everything you're saying and I agree that I should have another sit down conversation about this with him. NOTE: I should have written this in my original post, but we did have a conversation about where this was going back when we decided to move in together, which was just about 2 years ago. We discussed that we would be getting married and that we were fully committed to each other. Thanks for your reply! |
