Background: Okay, so I have this friend, and he has several mental health issues. He cuts himself regularly, has attempted suicide seven times, and he gets high on marijuana, ecstasy, etc. He also smokes A LOT. He was in therapy for a long time, and his mom thinks he's better now, and honestly, he is (much better than he was before). Although, his mom isn't aware that he cuts himself and gets high everyday. He doesn't feel like he can go through and handle the day if he isn't high. The Problem: Now, if the above weren't worrisome enough, he's recently been having a lot of physical symptoms. He went to the doctor and had a bunch of tests conducted. The results came back and he became very depressed and refused to tell me what the results of his tests were. Now a month later, he asked to Skype with me and proceeded to smoke and get high right in front of me. He then told me to ask him what was wrong because he wanted to tell me but couldn't while he was sober. I did and he revealed to me that he has Stage II Lung Cancer and that I'm the only one who knows. He got the diagnosis on his 18th birthday, so the doctors weren't mandated to inform his mother. He refuses to tell her that he has lung cancer because, in his words, he "doesn't want to worry her for no reason". He doesn't want to get any treatment because then his mother will find out once she gets billed by the insurance company (he's listed as a dependent, given that he's still a senior in high school). Now, I really believe the best course of action is informing his mother, but I have no way of contacting her. He moved away from me a few years ago and we've only kept in contact through texting and Skype. I don't know his mother at all -- never met her. Also, even if I did have a way of contacting his mother, I'm afraid he'd attempt suicide once his mother found out because he tells me she'd react by taking away his drug stash when he feels that's the only way he can cope with life and he wouldn't want to live if he couldn't get high everyday. His mother actually knows he smokes marijuana, and she's accepting of it, but she doesn't know to what extent and that he does some other drugs and smokes regular cigarettes too. I'm so worried he's going to die, and I know he has a death wish, but I believe he deserves to be happy. I don't know what to do! Can anyone offer any insight?

I broke up with my ex-boyfriend because he was a cheater (at least 3 times!) and verbal abuser. Anyway, I saw him recently at a party and he cornered me in a hallway. Other people say I should hang up a guy's athletic cup as a symbol of female power over male weakness (guy's nuts are so vulnerable and they need the extra protection). Any other good nicknames? When I'm really stressed out about conflicts between friends and enemies (conflict in general) I find myself having this need to talk about it and replay the scenario with all my friends to get it off my chest and for advice. I don't say it to paint them in a bad light or create rifts/drama, I just need it for the catharsis and for advice how to handle it. Is that the same as talking sh*t?

So im 16 and I've never spent the night at a friends house. Some of my friends(ish) and I have a weekend trip planned and I'm not sure if going will be worthwhile. Hi, so I recently decided to go vegan because I don't feel comfortable eating meat. The problem is, my friends kind of being an @$$ about it, and it's kind of been going on for about a week. Like, I'll order a salad at lunch, and she'll be like, "Ew, rabbit food, how can you eat that." I had been friends with this girl called Jade for almost 8 years now and we had been inseparable up until about a year ago She just stopped talking to me less and less and started being quite mean to me. I'm a 46 year old mother with a 17 year old son. His best friend is also 17. I didn't know my son or his friend were gonna be home today. Well, she is prettier than me and she has tons of friends and also our family members favor her more on Facebook. They never like or comment on my pictures but they always like and comment on hers. She has like 5000+ friends and i only have 41 but for some reason i just do not feel right when i add people on Facebook. Maybe it's because i'm afraid of rejection or because i just don't care to be friends with a bunch of people who don't like me. Everyone seems to like her and i feel so inferior to her on Facebook. Okay well I'm a 21 year old guy. I currently attend community college. I will be graduating this June and then transferring to a 4 year University that's about 100 miles from my house. I believe the drive is actually 99 exactly from my driveway to that school. But like I said, I live at home. I don't have a job, no girlfriend, not very many friends; and not even a social life. I talk to like 2 or 3 people and that's it. With the exception of the people in my classes, but I really don't count them as friends. But I constantly see these friends of mine who are getting married, getting well paying full-time jobs and getting their own places and actually moving out of there parents house. I just feel really pathetic right now. Sorry, I'm just self conscious. I'm not trying to fish for compliments or have a pity party. I just feel like crap.

When I started to like anime all of a sudden she watched an anime acted like she knew everything about it and told people that she likes anime. Now I have started to like more Asian things: their fashion, food etc but she suddenly likes Asian things. She got stuff with Asian style things even though she doesn't like Asia. She keeps saying stuff like "I tried to make this look Japanese or I tried to make it sound Korean or this programme I watched has Chinese things in". It feels like she's rubbing it in my face that she can get stuff she knows I would like. I started learning piano and she started playing her keyboard and showing off how many songs she can play. It feels like she always has to be better than me even though she cleverer than me anyway. If I do something she has to do it bigger or better. I know I don't own Asia or anything else and I can't control her life but it's starting to annoy me and I don't know what to do about it. I'm shy and I find it hard to make new friends. I don't think I would be able to confront her because whenever we have an argument she makes up stuff that I never did and spreads it around and gets really mean. Once she emailed me a list of reasons she hated me and got all her friends to gang up on me. I don't know what to do about it.

my parents DO NOT trust me at all. once i tried to go to a party and told them i was just hanging out and they wouldn't let me go, i was gonna go to my friends house to sleepover and go to the party but then it got cancelled. however, my friend is going away this spring break so i don't know how I'm gonna get to the parties because none of my friends have older siblings that can drive them. So my friend and I are really growing apart. When I first met her last year it seemed like she liked me more because we didn't really know each other but now it's different. I just can't take it anymore. I am sick of people calling me anorexic, a twig, a stick or whatever! And my so called best friend humiliating me in front of my whole class. I am also paler than white (because of eczema not letting me get tan) and I am basically the perfect "thing" to poke fun at. I also am weak at sports so running in PE class is just people laughing at me. I try to act like I don't care but I can't do it anymore. I also can't change school. Please help me. My friend came out of the bathroom and she's acting really strange.

I was at a business meeting (all dressed up) and this lady I know saw me and said "Wow, what a sight for sore eyes!". I didn't quite know how to respond so I just smiled. What does this mean?

I'm staying at my moms friends house for three days because she went out of the country and I don't have any other relatives here. My moms friend's son is my childhood friend but we don't talk much and he's a jerk sometimes, let's call him Jhon, anyways I'm in 11th grade and new at school, I'm introverted and have a really hard time when talking to people, it's just plain awkward and I want to leave, also I find it really hard to trust someone so I don't have friends, I just sit in my teachers room and read. But my problem is that I feel like I always have to explain myself to people, and everyone is always pushing me to socialize but I don't feel comfortable doing that. So today his friend (let's call him Donnie) comes over and calls me to go into the room and talk, I brought my iPad with me and he started to look through my songs on spotify,then he showed me a song that he likes and said it was embarrassing because it was a sentimental song and he has never told anyone that he likes to listen to that, it was a love song, so of course I don't know what to say to that and I just go "ah" since I don't know him that well, and he then starts complaining that I don't care about his song and don't care about the conversation, I told him that it was a cute song but Not quite my taste, then kept on insisting that I could trust him and I said "ok" ,I could notice that he was getting upset but don't know why, he also has a girlfriend. I don't know what to do in these situations As I've mentioned before, I don't know what to do in these situations and I'm horrible at small talk, if I hurt anyone it's not on purpose because I wouldn't know what I said that could hurt them, and "talking to people" as some suggested is also a horrendous idea, is it not clear that this is not the thing I'm best at?

Shes made up lies like how her mom had sex with a random guy when she was fourteen and got pregnant and my friend is depressed about it cuz her mom got an abortion but the problem is her parents have been together since they were both fourteen. She's also been saying stuff like that shes cutting. I told her I relapsed and the very next day she said she been doing it. She doesn't even bother about me, it's all about her. She also tried to tell me her ex got a girl pregnant and then he proposed to my friend? Like wtf her and i are both thirteen. Some stuff doesn't add up but when I confront her she gets mad and says it's true even when i've caught her in lies. Help! what do I do? when I try to stop being her friend all of her friends yell at me cuz they know half the story.

I hate my guy friend for dating another lady without ever asking me out but, I still have to act like it doesn't bother me. She always make sure that I know every detail of their " secret" life. How should I handle him when we are still " friends"?

Oh the world is so ******... i cant take this **** anymore. My whole class, all just do whatever everyone else does. What happened to creativity and being yourself? My friend and i used to have fun together, playing and all, now all he talks about is Butts and boobs and all that. ITS WRONG! Ok so it's like I always crave attention everywhere I go.i get lonely and isolate myself Its not given to me. I'm always begging for attention on the inside and it's not given to me. It's like I don't exist everywhere I go because I crave attention and it's not given to me. I wouldn't say I'm pretty or interesting. I'm always the last choice for everything. People don't talk to me and I don't have friends. I want to be like those people who don't care about attention. How can I be like them? I'm 15 years old by the way???

(🚨WARNING: RANT🚨) there's this really annoying girl (let's call her Birtha) at my school who thinks we're "bffs". she goes on her phone and is always screaming about shane dawson or michael clifford and its not only annoying but it's also embarrassing. plus she hates nirvana (yet she wears a nirvana shirt) and she's really desperate for a boyfriend. one of my friends (let's call her rachel) used to date this boy (let's call him bob). birtha had a crush on bob (she crushes on every boy) and she made an account to break up bob and rachel. then birtha DMed bob on the account and the DM said "if you go out birtha she'll feel less suicidal". there are a million other reasons why i hate her. oh and then she always complains about people hating her when there's an OBVIOUS REASON WHY. helpppp HOW DO YOU GET RID OF AN ANNOYING "FRIEND". (shes also the reason why one of my best friends won't talk to me anymore :(. )

So my kindergarten gf picked me up today because I was walking home in the rain because I missed my bus because I was getting bullied.. im the victim of the school.. were in high school now and I get bullied so much and July the girl ,shes the talk of the school everything she says is awesome to everyone shes the celebrity and I'm nothing but a bullied smart nerd ..so I was walking and I heard this horn behind me and I turned around to a pink BMW with heavily tinted windows and it was July my kindergarten gf so I got in and she took me home while on our way she brought up our kindergarten days and says she still treasures those moments ..but this is the first time shes spoke to me since junior high and were seniors now..and I didn't say any thing because I'm awkward she says her parents ask about me all the time and the weirdest thing happen she gave me her number??? she says she use to draw photos of our wedding and she says I hold a special place in her heart and also said that if I'm single when I'm thirty shes gonna marry me... I didn't know what to say.. Does she still like me.. And she kissed me on the cheek.. I'm at a lost..

I am starting online schooling but I want to have contact with people nearby me or from my old school. I typically was the loner with only a few friends. So what would be the best way to stay in touch and meet people in my city? I am 16. Would it be weird if I randomly started sending people I remember from school facebook friend requests??

I had a close group of friends in high school who all moved away for college and only come home to visit periodically. In college, I made friends, but none were what I d consider a "close" or "best" friend. Now, as a college grad, I work full time. I have a boyfriend and go out with his friends, but it s not the same as having my own close friends. It s so hard to meet and make close friends at this point in my life, plus most people already have their own close friends. What to do? Btw I've considered joining groups or clubs, but those mostly consist of older women (I'm 24)

Well in the beginning of the year I was normal. Then apparently quote on quote "Am really awkward and it attracts attention" I asked this popular girl and that's what she said and that Im popular too. Also forgot to add I have regular friends but the popular people literally stalk me. I was in line for free throwing in recess and they stalk and follow me. Im hanging out with my regular friend. Then I kicked the basketball then I had to go on team basketball instead. I decide for my friend to be my partner that's not popular. The popular people stalked over and followed me in that line. They told me how they thought it was funny of what I did. Then there is this one girl who is like the 'leader' of all her popular friends. Shes the worst. I want to go to my friends house and she says ok. Shes popular but Ive been friends with her since kindergarten. Were now in MS. The 'leader' of the popular people say "Can I come too please" She ended up coming. What attracts all this attention?

So my friends are all noticing that, I have really sharpened up my dress code. since my new girlfriend I dress to well recognized formal clothing. She saw my wardrobe and told me that everything in there was going to make her look like she settled for a lesser man and so we went shopping. It doesn't bother me at all. It is however, embarrassing to have my friend's say that I'm whipped for her. and this is why she hates my friends...I also am pretty sure that 1 of my friends are jealous because she is so beautiful. I am slowly losing touch with all my favourite bros. She is also losing patience with being uncomfortable around them. Am i really leaving my friend's just because she make me dress differently? Is it that unmanly? especially because as a man I choose to let her, its my money! its my choice!
