Question: Should I be upset over this? Posted: 17 Mar 2015 08:14 PM PDT My future in-laws came to see the property where we will be getting married. We are having an outdoor wedding in the middle of May at a private home. The in-laws are only paying for the rehearsal dinner while me, my fiance, and my parents are paying for everything else. Suddenly they began demanding that we get a tent because they don't wan to be in the sun or else they won't come. They said they will pay for it, however my fiance and I don't want a tent unless it rains and only wish to have one on reserve for bad weather. We chose this location because there are plenty of trees for shade plus we picked to have the wedding in the evening so there won't be direct sunlight anyway. We want to have the outdoor scenery without a giant white tent blocking it. Although I appreciate them wanting to pay for it, I don't think the way they approached me with it was right and my family wasn't happy when I told them what they did. To keep the peace we are going to let them do it, however it just upsets me with how they didn't even ask if we were okay with it, but demanded to have it. I know this shouldn't be a big deal, it just frustrates me. Plus if we have the tent, it will mess up how I wanted to do my entrance to the ceremony site. |
Question: Why don't any of the good men like me. Am I doomed to a life full of jerks? Posted: 17 Mar 2015 07:21 PM PDT I'm not gonna lie.. In the past I was into bad boys and guys that treated me like crap. That was when I was like 16-19. I'm 23 now and I don't care about any of the superficial stuff anymore. I just want someone who's got a good head on their shoulders, someone that's respectful loyal and mature but still possesses a sense of humor. I can't even count the number of times I've been cheated on. I just don't understand gay bad boys LOVE me but good guys don't give me a second glance. I'm a college graduate, good job, I'm straightforward and honest, I'm fairly good looking. I DO wear a lot of makeup .. I don't know if that's why I'm attracting jerks but it's only cause makeup is my passion and applying makeup everyday is theraupic and relaxing. Also an aspiring makeup artist. The dudes that talk to me only want sex but nothing substantial. Is this karma for blowing off the good guys in my younger years? I used to sit back and let guys approach me instead of me approaching them cause I didn't wanna appear desperate but when I approach good guys they are not interested at all.. The good guys friend zone me. I'm at the point where I don't give a flying flip about looks. I get tired of good looking guys a month into the relationship. The guys I've dated in the past looked good but couldn't do any thing past " small talk". There was never any intellectual conversation going on. I want someone that can challenge me, someone I can learn from but also have fun and grow old with About 3 months ago I dated this guy he treated me so amazing and I was so happy then found out he had another girlfriend and it all went downhill from there |

Posted: 17 Mar 2015 05:05 PM PDT We had a Justice of the Peace wedding six months ago with the intention of having a large reception later. We told his mother not to tell anyone we were getting married. She told a dozen people. We told her we didn t want a reception. She invited HER friends, had a cake made, and told them all we had just been married. After I told her I was jealous of my husband's ex-love interest, she invited her to live with us (we were living on the same land as his mom at the time). When we were working on something, my husband turned to ask my opinion and she said, "I don't understand why are you asking her". She often came up to our home and came into our room. She would sit on the edge of our bed and sometimes talked about our sex life. He and I had a falling out and when we patched it up, she said something about sending him to jail. When we told her we were moving out, she said our marriage wasn't valid and asked him why he wanted to live with me. What I really want is to have the reception we wanted to have with all of our friends and family and not my mother-in-law. She's toxic and I don't want someone who has made my life hell to be at my sacred wedding. I also know if we don't invite her, we will be asking for her wrath. She will talk to at least a dozen people about it and paint us as horrible, abusive people (she has called me abusive for not talking to her). What's the least impactful way to do this? |

Question: Great couples vacation spots? Posted: 17 Mar 2015 02:35 PM PDT My fiancé and I are looking for the perfect honeymoon vacation! We have been on several cruises together with our families, so we have decided to do something different for the honeymoon. I'm thinking an all inclusive resort would be the best way to go, but I'm really not sure... At all! We have never vacationed with just the two of us, so this is all new ground! So any suggestions on locations or resorts would be greatly appreciated! |

Posted: 17 Mar 2015 10:50 AM PDT I know people usually give jewelry as a gift but i am paying for my bridesmaid shoes, one third of their dress, hair brooch , and their hairstyle. I wanted to put the least financial strain on them. Is this enough? Do i still give a gift? I plan on giving my MOh a personal gift only in private. Im running out of money lol |
Question: Change mind on being in someone's wedding? Posted: 17 Mar 2015 07:24 AM PDT I was asked to be an usher in a wedding, however they have made the decisions that no children will be allowed to attend. This groom to be is in a management position at my place of employment ( not "my" manager however I work with him everynight and see him 5000x more than my manager). He also has a short temper in the sense that you never know what will set him off, I question if he is semi bi-polar. Would it be out of line or possibly confrontational to ask to be taken out of the wedding? We are set to be fitted for tuxes this coming weekend. My wife and son are going to attend a different wedding that sounds a lot more fun and my son is allowed to attend. |

Question: Wedding dress made to order in china, help me to decide please.? Posted: 17 Mar 2015 02:10 AM PDT I am a reserved bride to be, who have never thought about purchased my wedding dress online. However, recently, something painful happened. My fiance has some trouble in his business. We have to restrict our spending for wedding. Guests are narrowing down. Our booked venue has been changed to a cheaper one... I am thinking what else I can do to lower the cost. Wedding dress is certainly a big part. Usually in our local town a wedding dress costs around USD1500. I am thinking how long I can go if we get a wedding dress online? There are many wedding dress made to order in China. Am I OK to use them? If yes, which company? Brides who have experiences, please help me out. I do want a cheaper wedding dress, but I still want a great one, you know. If I am lucky enough to find the best store, I will be doing right things, or things will lose control. Help. pleaseeeee... |
