Question: Court wedding Ideas? Posted: 18 Mar 2015 08:22 PM PDT Even though I'm not going to have a traditional wedding, I still want the court wedding to be nice until I do have a traditional one next year. I was thinking about doing something after the wedding but I don't know what to do. My friend wants to come to the wedding but I feel like there's no point because there's nothing to do. So, any ideas?? |
Posted: 18 Mar 2015 07:27 PM PDT My best friend is getting married in 2 months... We ve been friends since elementary & now she lives in Idaho , and I live in California...her wedding is in Idaho so for months I ve been planning to travel there ... My boyfriend & I have been together for almost a year. Ever since the beginning I have talked about this wedding and it wasn t until months in I told him I wanted him to be my date. Her wedding is now 2 months away and he's saying he won't go with me... I understand since we either have to fly there or drive this is asking him for a lot but it's my best friends wedding. I'm going to be the only bridesmaid dateless , have to travel alone, stay alone, and spend the whole wedding alone. It wouldn't be so bad if all my other friends boyfriends weren't going with them . He says it's because of money, but he recently had more than enough to make it happen and bought a car and motorcycle & now "is broke" . He didn't even attempt to make it happen , and I feel completely unimportant and don't feel like we are a team. I don't want to go alone... I am so upset I don't even want to talk to him ... Am I over reacting ?? |
Posted: 18 Mar 2015 06:48 PM PDT We will end up spending about $12,500 on our wedding, $2,500 on my ring, and probably $3,000 on the honeymoon. Is this normal? I HATE spending money but it seems like it's what we will have to do if that's what we want to have.. ugh. Luckily after my bachelors and the wedding we will still be DEBT FREE but still, is this normal? |
Question: Does sex alleviate stress in a healthy relationship? Posted: 18 Mar 2015 05:38 PM PDT My fiancée and I agreed to be abstinent for personal reasons until our wedding, which is not for another year and a half. We're waiting until after she finishes grad school. My fiancée is going through a lot. She works full time and goes to school part time. Plus, her parents have a really bad relationship in which one of them recently attempted suicide and the other was insensitive about it. Now my fiancée tries to mediate between them as professional counseling hasn't helped. I've told her I'm here for whatever she needs or wants from me. A few days ago my fiancée came over my apt. and she started making out with me on the bed. She started unbuttoning her clothes and when I asked her to stop, she reminded me how I said I'd do anything for her and said "I really want you." She has seemed so sad about everything going on the past few weeks, I wanted to stop her from doing something she'd regret. She left right away and I've felt so guilty. I told her I love her and am unbelievably attracted to her, but I was trying to keep us accountable to the promise we made. It has been a few days and she has barely told me what's been going on in her life. She is usually so rational and kind, and I'm not sure how to help her deal with this immense level of stress. |

Question: How early is too early for an aufruf (Jewish Wedding Blessing)? Posted: 18 Mar 2015 04:16 PM PDT We re getting married in June and my future in-laws have voiced interest in hosting a lunch after an aufruf for us. However, they live in NY and my fiance and I live in Virginia, making the traditional timing for an aufruf (less than a week before the wedding) difficult. At the moment, they re trying to plan an aufruf the first week in april since we might be in town but that seems obscenely early. I get that they want to host this special event but I really don t want to do it SO far out. Am I wrong that this is way to early? |
Question: Did/Do you include your FMIL in wedding planning? Posted: 18 Mar 2015 02:15 PM PDT We don't expect nor want them to help out financially in any way, but I was wondering should I include her in the wedding planning at all? I don't want to ignore her and make her feel like she is not involved if she wants to be, but I also don't want to involve her in something that she may not really care about?! Any suggestions? Ideas? Experiences? |

Question: Is this to much writing for guests for a bridal shower? Posted: 18 Mar 2015 11:38 AM PDT I am throwing a bridal shower. I have one game so far for the guests and a write advice on a jenga game piece to be read aloud later on. Is it to much to have the guest write a memory they shared with the bride and have the bride guess who it is? The guests are already writing advice, is writing a memory to much for them? |

I really want to marry on the day we first met, which could be on a Sunday of 2016 (or wait until 2022, no thanks!) Would a Sunday wedding work or should we go for the practical Saturday? Also, I already know that I want a morning wedding, like walking down the aisle at 10 or 11 am and it lasting until the afternoon. Sunday morning wedding? |

Question: Not sure what to do about our wedding guest list? Posted: 18 Mar 2015 03:21 AM PDT I'm getting married later this year. My fiance and I have been talking about our guest list a lot. Mostly because I come from a very strained family. The only person I actually want there is my brother. We've been close our whole lives and we've gone through a lot together. My father is our only living parent but we haven't had much to do with him in a few years. He's married and has stepkids and we also have two half-siblings from his other two marriages who we never see. I was kicked out of the house at 17 because my stepmother didn't like me, and my dad being the weak man that he is never backed me up. My brother lived there until he was 18 and he barely made it out the same person as he was before. My fiances family is still intact and there's no steps or halfs there. It makes it a lot easier. But with me, I'm not so sure. I honestly don't want any of them there. There's just too much drama and not enough love. I just don't know if it makes me seem mean spirited or childish. But my brother and fiance have told me I won't, since there's little to no contact anyway. Any advice? Thank you everyone! Yeah, things are still the same and the only reason my dad calls is to ask if I can clean their house or cook for them. |

Question: Taking Engagement Ring Off? Posted: 17 Mar 2015 09:20 PM PDT I took my engagement ring off today, because me and my fiance have been arguing a lot for some time now, and I'm feeling a little confused about where we stand. This has been almost a three year engagement. And we have been thru a lot. I have felt with him not knowing whether he wants to be with me even in the very beginning of the relationship. After two years of us dating, he asked me to marry him. But now he's telling me he asked me to marry because he didn't want to loose a good thing. 4 months after the engagement he told me he wasn't ready to get married because we were rushing. And he didn't want to get married right away. After a baby and 3 years later. We are living together, but we argue over silly things and still no marriage. I trust him, and love him. But I sometime having resentment with him asking them saying we were moving too fast. I really want us to go to counseling, and work on understanding each other. But I find it sometimes hard to talk to him. He seems to come off as a jack *** and nonchalant about my feelings. What should I do? |
