At first everything seemed to be normal, he liked someone else and it seemed like he didn't care about me at all. But after two months he stopped talking to her completely. After that he started to look at me all the time, mostly when he thought I wasn't looking. If I caught him looking, sometimes he looked away others he didn't. Anyway, earlier this school year I met this girl that I quickly became completely infatuated with. Though the span over which our interactions took place was short, at some point during that span, I became aware that she too shared a similar infatuation (at least to some degree) toward myself and we both share this and reveled in the fact that it was mutual. Sounds good right? She last minute cancels on a few tentative hangouts we planned. Then suddenly, she informs me that (for reasons still unknown to me) her life would no longer allow her to maintain our relationship. Naturally, I'm disappointed, confused, all that good stuff, so I send a few feeler texts to her in the two weeks directly proceeding her proclamation to which she replies with how she thinks I'm a great person and I didn't do anything wrong and then reiterating her point about not being able to maintain our relationship at the moment. I'm an understanding person, she doesn't owe me anything, I get it. So I wish her the best and haven't talked to her since. I'm not as torn up about it as I was initially, but I still think about her a lot. Because of the level of infatuation i felt for her and because i feel like I didn't get closure I guess. I actually feel like this dude legit hates me but the thing is I did nothing to him. He will speak to everyone but me even if we re in a group of people. I'd like to ask her for her number and see if she'd like to go out with me sometime (not hanging out, I mean going out, I'm in the market for a girlfriend, not a friend and I want to make sure my intentions are clear).
