I'm always there for people and do as much as I can to make sure the people in my life are ok. My birthday is coming up and I have a weekend getaway trip set up. Turns out my step mom is having surgery on my birthday. She has two kids of her own and they won't be accompanying her for her procedure because they told her they have their own lives to live and they she'll be fine. Now I feel guilty like I should be there to help her through her ordeal since she'll essentially just be alone with my dad. But I would like to enjoy my birthday for once in my life. Since I can remember it's always been about what other people want to do, about making sure others are comfortable and happy. This will be my 25th birthday and i want to celebrate, but the good person that I always am keeps me nagging me that I should the right thing and be there. Would i be wrong if O chose myself for once?
