The first time we all went out for dinner she started complaining that nobody cares about them and who's gonna take care of them after they pass. I was new at that time and didnt know what to think, i thought she was being treated poorly by other daughter in laws (2). Then every time she would come to our house, she would start freaking out about little things like if i was burning a candle or if we were eating certain things. Im one of those who is very health conscious. I brushed and laughed it off. Then she started telling us that we were gaining weight and we needed to do something. She started getting on my case about making my husband workout and being his motivation. She gives me terrible gifts like cloth table mats for my birthday. Now, ive been very nice to her and understand that she's feeling insecure but its starting to really hurt my feelings. She calls my husband only when he's at work. If i cant go to a family event, she will bypass me and expect my husband to be there without me. My husband cannot see this and often takes her side. I have now cut a lot of contact with her however, she will do little under handed things to drive me crazy. She lies to get attention of her sons. She talks to my husband about other women in the community who are still unmarried. Why? I deep down feel like shes trying to take over power. I feel like She wants to be the center of attention to her son. Its truly hurtful that shes older and behaving like a narcissist. May i add, when she see's me she tells me i look so tired. Im not one to take revenge but she is definitely trying to create a discord in me. My husband stand up for me only some times. We had them over and i was making small talk with her and she looked at me and said ya you do look like you put on a lot of weight. my husband was talking to his dad but over heard this and he kinda told her to knock it off. But usually she does stuff when he's not there so it becomes my word over hers.

My wife just had our first baby last night we got home early this morning it's been a long last two days for both of us. I told her she needs to rest but she doesn't want to.
