Question: I think a 40 something Mum tried to bully me? Posted: 26 Mar 2018 04:12 PM PDT So I'm on holiday with my best friend and we are both in our early twenties. We were in the hotel pool earlier and it was packed full of children. One lady who looked about 45 had her son with her who looked about 8 and they were playing with a rugby ball in the water. She hit me on the back of the head twice whilst I was in there and never apologised and just kept laughing. When I aggressively threw the ball away from me the second time she kept then deliberately throwing it nearer to me and my friend. She was also telling her son to splash as hard as he could throughout the water. They kept smirking at us and laughing and she kept giving us evils from a distance but when she swam near us she wouldn't make eye contact. Her husband was reading a paper in a chair the whole time and ignored the whole thing! Me and my friend are shocked that she was encouraging her son to be a nuisance and we noticed when two other young girls got in the pool she told him to swim over to them and splash really hard. Literally everyone in the pool was annoyed with them! They also did it to a Mum and her baby. Why did the Mum do this?? She is encouraging her son to pick on people. He was a very overweight child too like her and they were just horrible! |
Question: My best friend did something awful, and I don't know what to do? Posted: 26 Mar 2018 04:01 PM PDT I confided in my best friend that I had feelings for my boss's husband. It was something that I had kept to myself. He didn't even know. Last week, my friend was with me when we met up with my boss, and her husband. My friend, in front of everyone, said, "Oh, he is good looking. It's no wonder you have feelings for him." I had never been so embarrassed in my life. After that, my boss told me that she couldn't trust me anymore, and I was fired. (I was her housekeeper) My friend said that she was just trying to be funny, and didn't mean no harm, but I am so furious with her that I never want to speak to her again. What should I do? |
Question: Why do I feel like any guy i like is out of my league? Posted: 26 Mar 2018 03:34 PM PDT The last guy i liked was a musician but also did liberal arts. He lived with his mother and was in his late 30s. I have a grown up child, am self employed at computers and own my own home. Have ran several marathons and keep fit. I feel like the reason he didnt ask me out was because he thinks im common, too old and boring. I would think his family dont think i come from a good enough home especially because i had a child out of wedlock at a young age. Am I right to think this? |
Question: Can someone give me wedding gift ideas in the $25-60 range? Posted: 26 Mar 2018 01:50 PM PDT Shipping this gift. Im out of state & not attending the wedding of a close familly friend's daughter. |

Question: Trying to stop stressing about a situation? Posted: 26 Mar 2018 11:23 AM PDT So I'm currently going through a situation with my friends. Pretty much i know my friends were always talk with each other. So something I was telling that happened with me and this girl I like. It ended up blowing up in my face. I don't want to believe that they said something. We still hangout and my friends say they didn't say anything. One thing happened the last time we hung out, one friend wanted to to talk to one other friend privately. I found that quite strange, because it was after I told him about the before and what happened after. I should also mention the night we hung out he was talking about what's going with other friends. Even though I knew he does this I still trusted him. I don't know what to think. I always tried to have my friends back, I was going through some stuff and was looking for advice and I got messed up. I just don't know what I did to my friends to go and do this, if it was them. I feel like I'm always the odd man out because they like to drink and all that stuff while I don't. I still hang with them and if they need me I have their back no matter what. Im just stressing about who would go back and do this, and of my friends are really trying to make me look bad. I can't think of anything that I did to them or why they would try to do anything to me. No matter how loyal I am, I'm always the odd one out because I'm different from the rest of my friends. I try to pray about if and let God take care of it. I need advice. |
Question: Is this normal & how should I bring it to her attention? Posted: 26 Mar 2018 10:48 AM PDT My friend will contact me all day about getting online to play video games with her as soon as I m out of work (while I m at work), while I m busy with other things and sometimes when I have a free moment I will get online to play with her for an hour or so. Every time she texts me it s only related to video games and when I can play with her again now, and any time I try to bring up any other thing that friends might talk about she will completely ignore that whole part of my text message. If I m talking to her while playing a video game online and I talk about anything outside of the game she will act like she doesn t hear it at all. I don t understand, she s become obsessed with games over the past few months and suddenly just ignores any conversation that doesn t include them. When I see her in person, if I try to spark a conversation about careers, food , anything normal people in their early twenties would talk about she will just make that I don t know (uhhuhuh) noise & go back to talking about games. It s driving me up the wall that I can t have a normal friendship with her anymore. She will text me random things like "I need to use the bathroom" at times throughout the day and expect a response, but when I tell her I m going to a doctor for potential organ failure, she ignores it completely. Friends are supposed to show concern, are they not? |
Question: What does it mean to "need" someone? Posted: 26 Mar 2018 09:43 AM PDT Relationship or friendship wise |
Question: Turning 24. How do I survive life without friends? Posted: 26 Mar 2018 09:40 AM PDT I have no friends. I am graduating university with bachelors in may. I had a girlfriend, but we broke up a dying relationship. All of my friends come and go, and I honestly never felt they were real friends. Whenever I'm in a group I feel like the odd one out, the outsider who is unwelcome. No matter where I go. It seems the only time I feel content is when I am truly alone, no access to outside communication. People don't respect me, sometimes I don't blame them. I don't have the lowest self esteem, and try not to show it, but deep down I hate myself sometimes. I know this is unhealthy way to live, its especially hard because I'm looking for a new job. I currently have a job, I am able to talk normally to coworkers, even though I am pretty awkward when speaking, and I can tell people notice it. I try not to make friends with anyone at work, because every time I make friends with people it seems I will ruin it. I try not to be self-conscious about it and analyze myself and regret it, but sometimes it can't be helped. I just want to be happy and positive. So here I am, about to be 24. No one to call friend. My family and I are very distant and I feel like I don't know any of them as much as they don't know me. I do love them, but I can't be social with anyone. How can I help myself to plan to be alone forever and still be happy and successful? Also, I know this is unhealthy and whatever, but I have tried being more social and outgoing but its just not my thing I guess. |
Question: Should I let her stay with me? Posted: 26 Mar 2018 06:21 AM PDT I was at a party and the host ask me to drive Jane home as she was too drunk to drive. I agreed as I did not want her in a car accident. The host said I will call her husband and tell him you are bringing her home. When I got to her house, her husband met me a the door and would not let his wife come in the house. He said "She is not coming in this house until she sobers up". OH CRAP. What am I going to do? I can't leave her there drunk on her door step. I called the party host and ask her what I should do. She said to take her to your home and take her to her house in the morning when she was sober. I was not comfortable having a married woman sleep at my house over night. I was afraid of what her husband might do. He also seemed to me to be drunk but I didn't know what else to do so I took her home. The next morning she wanted to know how she ended up at my house and I told her. She was outraged. She said "I am not going back and live with that S.O.B. of a husband". Can I stay with you until I can find a place to stay. I told her no but I would help her find a place to stay. I was afraid of what her husband might do and/or I would get involved in a divorce case. Please tell me if I did the right thing here. Should I have let her stay with me? |

Question: What is the appropriate way to hug a friend? Posted: 25 Mar 2018 07:33 PM PDT I am on the Autism Spectrum and don't hug much at all. It's just not comfortable to me. However, I have learned that sometimes hugging others is the right thing to do so I just deal with it. A close friend's father died and I want to be there for her. I know she is a big hugger and I really think she would appreciate it especially since she knows I'm not really into hugging. My problem is that I don't know what is appropriate. (We are both heterosexual females.) Do you use both arms or just one? How long should you hold it? Should you say anything or keep silent? Social norms don't come naturally to me so any help is appreciated. Thanks. |
Question: Why do my parents treat me like I'm 5 when I'm 18? Posted: 25 Mar 2018 07:03 PM PDT I'm 18, in a good college, good grades. Don't drink, virgin, ask before I go anywhere. Keep my room clean, help around the house and with my sister. Why do they treat me like I'm 5? I don't do much all I wanted to do was go to Waffle House (20mins till 10) with my friend. I've been working on papers and speeches for school all weekend and now I just want to hang out before having to go back to school tomorrow (Monday). Can someone tell me why my parents are so uptight?? (I suspect it's because I'm a girl; if they had a son it probably wouldn't be like this for him) |
