Question: Why do high school freshmen tend to behave differently than seniors in middle school? Posted: 24 Mar 2018 12:37 PM PDT High school starts in 8th grade here. There's something different about them compared to 7th graders from intermediate school. More swearing, revealing clothes, and media-obsessed. My friends in the US said similarly too... but it's the gap between 8th and 9th grade for them. Does it have anything to do with being mixed into an environment with much older people, often 17-18 year olds?? A freshmen would have more interactions with seniors compared to middle schoolers. |
Question: What do I do if my sister found out that I told our mom about her lesbian wedding? Posted: 24 Mar 2018 12:16 PM PDT A few weeks ago I was asked by my therapist to finally tell my mom about a secret wedding that I had been keeping silent about in fear of my Bipolar lesbian sister. I told her at a small restaurant while my grandmother was present. My sister had stolen money from my grandmother and my mother was upset about it, but my sister didn't know that my mom knew what she had done. So my sister thought that the reason my mom was upset with her was because she found out about her wedding with her girlfriend of 6 months. My sister called me and I lied about it, but then she asked my grandmother about it and she ratted me out. Now there is tension in my household. I'm mad at my grandma and my sister is mad at me and my mom is mad at my sister. Somehow I feel like this is all my fault if I had just kept quiet, but my therapist insisted that my mother know. Now I don't know what to do or where to start. I've just resorted to keeping away from my entire family, but I feel terrible. What do I do? Can I even fix this? My mother is highly against the gays and lesbians. |
Question: Is that hypnosis? If yes, how can I get my lovely sister out of it? Posted: 24 Mar 2018 10:10 AM PDT Okay, my sister is 28, a very religious Christian. She has a lot of drama in here home so she starting telling everyone that there was some 'demon' in here who was causing this. The idea was always there but she never explored it. Until recently she found a man who supposedly does 'exorcism.' She brought that man home and he started to do things to her like making her drink things, telling her things and as I was told she started to move and say very very weird things, she became very hysterical, and then after some time she comes back to herself, and once again, she goes back to that state... When that man left she was fine, after that, she started being very hysterical. I just don't get what this is, she screams, yells, does many things only a mentally ill person would do but she was perfectly fine before the meeting with this man, now her husband can't get that man on the phone and my sister is in a psychiatrical hospital, you just can't talk to her, she understands nothing. I can only think of hypnosis... What is that ? I'm only 16 and can do nothing. Please help us... I don't know of any professional. I don't like to mess with those things.... |
Question: Is it OK what my sister is doing? Posted: 24 Mar 2018 09:58 AM PDT I am not sure how I should feel about what my 16 year old sister Ann is doing. I am her 20 year old brother. I really like her and I am VERY protective of her. She has developed into a very beautiful woman. She is mature far beyond her age. She knows how guys think probably from being around me and my brothers. When my buddies come over to my house to hang out, they just love it when she talks and jokes around with them. I also know how guys think and I have told them repeatedly she is not flirting with them. She is just an outgoing and fun loving person that is totally at ease with guys. She wants to be their buddy, not their girlfriend. Can guys my age accept her as a friend and buddy and not as a potential girlfriend. Please tell me what you think. |
Posted: 24 Mar 2018 09:41 AM PDT Should we stop letting them come over. It's getting annoying every week having them them over because they have 3 teens and we have 3 small kids and they have nothing to do when they come here just sit around doing nothing but eat and make a mess and mess up my bathroom. Their son heads right to my bathroom to do number 2 every time they come. We have so sit home every weekend while they won't even let us come over. Thoughts!??! |

Question: Dog died last week me and siblings are having a hard time coping? Posted: 24 Mar 2018 08:20 AM PDT Hi guys, we had decided to put our lab down last week, I cried most of that week but after my parents took my dog to the vet (I wasn't emotionally ready for it, i'm only 15) I cried for about 10 minutes. This has been the longest week, I hate talking about it, I just miss him, i'm having a hard time coping, now at night I cry quietly myself to sleep, I can't fully concentrate in class either. Please help me here, my 10 year old brother is the same way, I spend most of my time with him, but my 5 year old brother is alone, doesn't want to be with anyone, and we have a 3 month old brother, who usually cheers me up, but this time, he isn't please help here :( |
Question: Why won’t my big brother trust me on the PC or PS4? Posted: 24 Mar 2018 07:47 AM PDT I am 12 and my brother is a few years older than me. When i was younger, my mom bought us a Windows XP. My little brother got a virus on it. Today, my brother has a PS4, and a PC. He never lets me use it. He is afraid i will get a virus on the PC, and he's just plain picky if I go on the PS4. It sucks because i only have a Wii U and a PS3 but i find them boring since my friends never go on. If i tell my parents, he will threaten me by deleting my account on the PS3 and Wii U. Please help me. This has been on for way too long. :( |
Question: Should I visit my toxic family? Posted: 24 Mar 2018 07:34 AM PDT I have never got along with my mother my grandmother raised me. They are both in another state which I have not been in or seen them in 9 years. My boyfriend is wanting to meet someone from my family, I think to take the relationship to the next step. I don't trust my mother she has mental problems in which I do not what my boyfriend to take the wrong way or get scared and run off. My grandma can be civil but she never stands up for me, will always back my mother up. Also cousins are all horrible people. Either in a gang or used to be. I know they will try to get us alone and corner us in trying to scare us just to make themselves laugh like they did to me when I was younger. Should I visit in hopes of them changing and acting human while I have the love of my life by my side. Or should I just forget about it? I know they are all probably still the same way they were when I left them 9 years ago but they are all the family I have. |

Question: Should I abandon my new family? Posted: 23 Mar 2018 11:38 PM PDT My story starts at a house party on Friday night. I was there smoking and drinking as i did on the weekends occasionally. I met a woman there, lets name her katy. Well we fell in love and despite the fact she wasn't my usual type (heavy) i fell for her personality and her beautiful face. We got serious and had unprotected sex 1 month into the relationship. 9 months later we have a son, we live together, i work and she takes care of the baby. Its a lot on me because before this i lived with my grandparents and i was going to go to school but now i cant. Im 19 years old to make matters more difficult. My rent is cheap which is great because i only make 9 dollars an hour... But im concerned because i have feelings that i dont want the responsibilty of a child. My heart tells me to run wild and be free, move away, do what i want when i want. But im hopelessly attatched to katy and the baby. I feel so hopeless and dont know the right thing to do. How can i cope? Should i abandon my new family? Any advice would help. Sincerely, a conflicted father. |

Posted: 23 Mar 2018 08:57 PM PDT I've had this question in my mind for a bit. If two parents were to split, but get equal custody of their kid(s) but the kid(s) don't want to visit/stay with one of the parents, are they allowed to stay with the other parent? Both parents are fine parents, the kid just doesn't like one of them. What would you do if your kids expressed this towards your S/O? Towards you? |
Question: Should i tell him i slept with his friend? Posted: 23 Mar 2018 08:52 PM PDT i slept with my boyfriends best friend, they are really close and they have been friends forever like for 7+ years. this incident happened a year ago but i never told him nor did his friend tell him. I dont know to let it go or just tell him but im scared. |
Question: My parents dont trust me? Posted: 23 Mar 2018 08:51 PM PDT im 16 years old and my parents have no trust in me. i go to school and dont do anything bad but love to party and they dont let me, they rarely ever let me leave the house. my sister is much much worse and has everything from a brand new car to having her & her child completelt financed after being away from her child for almost a year and its unfair. i have mo history or anything bad other than using unprescribed drugs and dating guys in 20's but i do know the consequinces to both of those and hope to never fall that low again, but its hard when they treat me like this. ive tried talking to them multiple times but nothing works. what should i do? |
Question: When someone talks badly about your kids...? Posted: 23 Mar 2018 08:09 PM PDT I have 2 step children and 1 of my own. I will occasionally vent to my mother about the stresses of being a step mother. Things the kids do that make me mad or whatever. I feel like she constantly is bringing things up that have upset me, almost like throwing it back in my face and I'm tired of it. Tonight she made 2 rude comments to me about my step kids and I just said 'I gotta go' and hung up on her. Now she's texting me and asking if I'm mad. What should I say, I honestly just don't ever want to talk to her about the kids ever again. |
Question: Is she aloud to do that? Posted: 23 Mar 2018 07:13 PM PDT Im a 13 year old girl and my mom spanked me for getting into a fight with a ******* slut. She cant spank me can she? Im 13 not 3 |
Question: I earn almost $4,000 a month. Is paying my parents $500 monthly too little? Posted: 23 Mar 2018 06:05 PM PDT My mother never told me an exact amount to pay them, but I offered $500 and she said it's okay. So I paid them $500 monthly all last year. But I wonder if it's ever too little for them considering how much I earn. I pay for all of my spendings and if my psrents need money I'll give it to them. When we eat out I always pay for them and my brother who is still in college. My mother pays for all of the groceries because she says I pay more than enough for them monthly. My parents had a poor childhood, never had a chance to have college education, and immigrated to the US. They have been here for 20+ years. My mother is 56 years old and works seasonal jobs at two different places. They usually last a month or two. So sometimes she doesn't work a month or two at a time. My father is 68 years old and he used to work with a friend doing home removation, it depended if they found anyone who needed something done in their house. He hasn't worked for 3 months probably due to the winter. He also gets $800ish monthly in SS. He also has Medicare and Wellcare which helps pay for his doctor vists and prescriptions. I still wonder if what I pay them monthly is too little. |
Question: Stubborn Grandmother...? Posted: 23 Mar 2018 04:17 PM PDT All my grandma does all day is watch tv and the news and I want to see her live a little and not spend her life as a couch potato (we ve all been there, alas a new leaf must turn) and for us to spend time together that isn t just talking about the news and replace it with fun. I have board games, marble games, etc and whenever I ask her to do something with me she brushes me off. im willing to try knitting but whenever ive brought it up to her she tells me she doesnt wanna do it (even though she told me that she used to make potholders. are they similar? i feel like she ll like knitting.) she has a great sense of humor (which she now spends all of her time on facebook to look at videos) and i think that once she takes the first step to try something we can have a good time together. how can i get her away from the television and her phone? do you have any experience in a similar situation that im in? and are there any other fun activities that we can do together? |
Question: Boyfriends parents hate me? Posted: 23 Mar 2018 03:11 PM PDT I've been with my boyfriend for 2 years now, he has a 3 year old daughter and full custody. When I first started dating him he barely spent time with his kid (he worked a lot) he used to drop her off at daycare but his mom told him he wasn't waking up early enough for her to get a nap (not true) After almost a year with him I suggested we woke up earlier so he could take her to school, I offered to get her dressed so he could get ready. Finally we were the ones taking her to school. I offered picking her up some days so I could take her to the park instead of sitting at home watching tv. Grandma didn't like that idea, I would even let her know a day in advance I would be getting her and shed go into the daycare early to get her so I wouldn't be able to. His mom obviously didn't want either of us to spend time with this child which was odd to me. His mom started letting the 3 year old call her mom. That's when my boyfriend and I put down our feet. We moved out and are now living on our own. I've recently found out I'm pregnant and she hasn't even acknowledged my pregnancy or congratulated me. She talk bad about me to my boyfriend and I honestly don't understand why. I get since I've come into the picture she's not doing everything for this child but we felt its more important for the father rather than the grandmother to be doing everything. I'm just so lost and honestly don't know what to do. I've always liked his parents but it obvious they don't like me...any suggestions? |
Question: To not want stepkids around fiancé's weird relatives especially his cousin? Posted: 23 Mar 2018 02:36 PM PDT He is weird and I don't want them to be weird. I don't even like him in our drive way let alone our house. When I insult him or try to fight him, he just ignore me or laughs in my face. He is wayyy past middleage and lives with his elderly mother. I don't think he works , but he says he does. His mother asked me to stop making fun of him on twitter. He smells even though he says he just bathed. I kind of do. My fiancée is cool and says yes to whatever I say. |
Question: How do I persuade/tell my parents that I want to play a sport? Posted: 23 Mar 2018 02:17 PM PDT When I was a little kid I never wanted to play sports or showed any interest in them. Now that I am older I am interested in joining my school's ice hockey team. For a long while I got ideas in my head but never went through with them. I want to show that this is an idea I'll go through with; but I don't know how to start the conversation. I'm afraid that they'll shrug it off and "just wait until I'm over it" and I don't know what they're reaction will be. I've had this idea for a long time, but now that I'm starting high school I'm afraid I'll never get to accomplish something I've always wanted to do! I just don't know how to say it? |
