Question: Why Does My Mom Stress Me Out So Much?!? Posted: 31 Mar 2018 02:25 PM PDT PLEASE READ AND ANSWER! Why does my mom stress my siblings and I out so much? Yesterday was Good Friday (we're Christian), and she promoted peace and serenity, but today she gets home from work ready to rip someone's head off. Once she gets home, all the peace, serenity and relaxation goes out of the window. Just a few minutes ago, she was in the kitchen yelling about some pizza! PIZZA! Why does she constantly yell if there is nothing to yell about? I'm a 17 year old without a worry in the world. I'm an honor roll student with a $40,000 scholarship to my 1st choice university. If I go to my 2nd choice as a commuter, my tuition would be $6/year. No, not $6000, but a total of $6. I will admit that at times I can get disrespectful, but she always comes at somebody's neck and victimizes you after you call her out on it. She called me an idiot last week for holding the door for other people as we were entering a restaurant in fear that we wouldn't get a reservation, but I looked in prior and saw that it was empty. She then laughed it off literally seconds later and said sarcastically, "I hope your chivalry didn't strip us of a reservation" then I had replied, "You're so bipolar" she then proceeded to call me a schizophrenic, and started whimpering and crying, her face being covered by the menu. She makes me look and feel like an ****** and a burden. After all, there is no justifiable way to explain how you made your own mother cry. How do I block out her manipulative tendencies? |
Question: I am going to be seeing family tomorrow with my dad and I am nervous (need advice)? Posted: 31 Mar 2018 12:34 PM PDT Today, I came home and my dad told me that my grandmother was admitted to the hospital this afternoon. My dad was there for a really long time and he wants my brother and I to visit her. I had talked to her on the phone about two years ago but haven't seen her since about five years. I am definitely going to visit tomorrow but I haven't seen my family in a while because to make a long story short, I became sort of estranged from my dad and didn't really attend any family functions after that. Anyway, I know I have to see her because I want to. But at the same time, I feel awkward about possibly seeing people and they might wonder why I am all of the sudden in the picture. How can I maintain calmness tomorrow? I am very worried about my grandma |

Question: Parents found out i smoke. please help.? Posted: 31 Mar 2018 11:52 AM PDT My parents found out yesterday I smoked because they smelled the weed. I tried to deny it and say that I just vape, which i now realize was a terrible idea. They forced me to hand over my phone and read every single message to every one of my friends for the past 6 months. Now they found out I have drank before too (i don't drink regularly, maybe once in a month or two). They are taking away my car and forcing me to never hang out with my "bad" friends again. That i can deal with. However, they are cancelling my beach week trip and talking about not letting me go to college because they can't trust me on my own. I am a good kid in terms of academics. I am at the top of my class, have a 4.6 GPA, perfect SAT score, etc. I have gotten into ivy league schools and others of the same caliber. After starting smoking none of grades have changed. How do i convince my ASIAN parents that weed isn't as bad as they think and how do i lessen their punishments? Please help. Keep in mind that my relationship with them wasn't great to start. Edit: I am a senior couple months away from graduating |
Question: I really want to move but my family wants me to stay? Posted: 31 Mar 2018 11:47 AM PDT I've spent ten years pleasing my family but now it's becoming too much. I'm always the go to person for money, problems just everything. I hate the state I'm in. I just want to be free and happy. |
Question: Should i take more blame than i deserve? Posted: 31 Mar 2018 11:36 AM PDT My older sister and I went on a trip with a few friends and spent more than we should have and our mom saw that we spent an insane 500 dollars, i couldn't believe it so I went through what I bought and I spent 135. My sister spent the rest of the 365, but she wants us to split the blame evenly so that she won't get all the anger from our mother. Our mother usually gets more angry at her than she does me so I'm tempted to help take more blame to ease the load on my sister. But should I? |
Posted: 31 Mar 2018 11:34 AM PDT In fact I didn't even know who my father was until I was 5 because the list was so long..it turned out to be my moms brother in law....yeah her sisters husband....but now that she found god that all goes away??? Am I wrong or is she a hypocritical self righteous B*ch? By the way it was one guy my boyfriend and I am 17 and I know what a condom is..... |
Question: Are younger siblings less mature than expected for their ages? Posted: 31 Mar 2018 10:09 AM PDT I notice how a lot of the "bad kids" in my school are younger siblings. I live in a really small town so most families know each other, even if not friends. These people I'm talking about are the ones who get suspended, cheat on exams, bully, and do drugs. Or these girls who started to wear revealing clothes and tons of makeup in 5th grade. Strangely, most of those girls have an older brother (maybe two or three with sisters idk). Same thing with the ones who get in trouble all the time by doing illegal and wrong things. |
Question: How do I get my dog to like me? Posted: 31 Mar 2018 10:03 AM PDT We got a dog a couple of days ago and I feel like she doesn't like me as much as my mom or brother. I think it's because she started eating the cat food and I said Dont eat that cat food and she ran away and started shaking Then my mom and brother will always rub up to her and tell her commands and stuff like that Then my brother will push me off the couch to snuggle with her and then take her to his room Just today I wanted to have her in the living room and she was in my brothers room I tried to get her to the living room and it took awhile until my brother made her get up I kept telling him to let me get her up because she need to know that I'm also in charge but he wouldn't stop until she got up I hate how they push me out from letting me get Gus to know me more How do I get her to trust me more? |
Question: Elders disrespecting young Adults.? Posted: 31 Mar 2018 07:50 AM PDT I think it's time that this comes to an end. Younger generations need to stop disrespecting the older generation and the older generation needs to stop disrespecting the younger. It's sad to here elders say ALL young adults are lazy and foul mouthed and disrespectful. That's not the case for ALL young adults. Some are very hard working and have respect. For the young ones who are disrespectful to there elders they need to stop being that way. They need to help them with anything they need help with and respect them. It would be so nice to see respect in this would and end the ignorance between both generations. 💜 |
Question: Why is my mom so negative? Or she just Hates me? Posted: 31 Mar 2018 05:49 AM PDT She keeps saying you can't do this, you can't do that, No matter how smart you are you'll NEVER get success etc etc. She never said any single good word for Me even when I rank top in class. None of my parents ever talk nicely. |
Question: Ex girlfriend/childs mom invited me over for dinner tonight? Posted: 31 Mar 2018 05:22 AM PDT Me and her had an extremely nasty break up. Recently we've been getting along great. She says she doesn't want to be together and I don't either, but she invited me over for dinner tonight as friends. Why would she do that? |
Question: Am I being ungrateful? Or are my dad and step mom being unfair to me.? Posted: 31 Mar 2018 12:22 AM PDT I am a 24 year old college student, and I'm also holding down a full time job. I pay a small amount of rent that my dad has assigned me to pay, as well as my own phone bill, car note, insurance, and college tuition. Living here is becoming unbearable. Every time I mention moving out my dad gets upset, but I can't deal with his wife. My mother passed away when I was 12 (she had cancer), and my dad remarried two years later. He refers to my stepmom as our "mom" & it really bothers me. He feels like since she helped raise us as her own she's earned that title but she's not my mother. She literally does nothing. My dad pays all of the bills (& she has a job), and she's rarely cooks, nor does she ever clean. I am required to wash dishes that I haven't been home to mess up (I work 2:30-11:30pm five days a week ((while going to college)), mop the kitchen and foyer area floor, vaccuum and clean the living room, & take out the trash. She gets upset when I miss a chore, but a lot of times it's because I'm exhausted. It's a bit difficult going to school, working a full time job, and coming home to clean up after two grown, able bodied adults.I'm working on moving out because I literally cannot deal with his wife. I think it's a little unfair that I'm paying my own bills (as I should because I am an adult), and going to college, and doing household chores after working all day, while she pays no bills, rarely cooks (only on holidays) and does no household cleaning. Am I being ungrateful? |
Posted: 30 Mar 2018 11:31 PM PDT My dad and my mom got married, doesn't that connect both sides of my family making all of them on each side related to eachother through marriage? |

Question: Would if be strange to call him dad? Posted: 30 Mar 2018 08:32 PM PDT I'm 13 and my brother is 20. Even though he's only 7 years older than me, he adopted me. He's been a brother, a dad, and a mom to me. He is all I have. Sometimes I joke about calling him dad, but I actually wish I could just call him dad and that it wouldn't be weird... I haven't told anyone about this and if I ask my brother he'll probably happy cry... am I weird for wanting to call him dad? He did adopt me... |
Posted: 30 Mar 2018 08:22 PM PDT It is one of those divorces where both sides are wrong. |

My uncle lives here too and he gives me alot of advice as a man and I personally like spending time with him. Hes been like a dad to me. But i really want to live down here. My mom and stepfather wont let me and because im not 18 yet I have to live with them and my grandma told me to wait till i turn 18. I really dont like my stepdad because he trys to act like my Biological when hes not and my mom just takes up for him 24/7 and i dont like that **** at all. My stepdad could be wrong and my mom still takes up for him. Only way for me to move with my grandma is if i fight my stepdad and he kicks me out. Honestly i hate that im rushing time because i wanna enjoy my days of being a kid but it seems like i cant because i wanna live with my grandma. Any advice ?? |
Posted: 30 Mar 2018 06:30 PM PDT I know I'll get hate for this but this is a genuine question I need help I don't know what to do. She was molested as a child by her real father and I'm afraid there's some kind of link to that. Maybe I am over exaggerating should I just forget about this or tell her. Ive only had one previous sexual relationship and was never called daddy anyway, as far as I know I'm my girlfriend's first, if that is at all relevant. Sorry if I provoke uncomfortable memories for anyone maybe in overreacting even just one answer would be appreciated it's causing me stress and anxiety I've turned her down for sex on three occasions now since the last time I don't want our relationship to be ruined. |
Posted: 30 Mar 2018 04:08 PM PDT when my parent not her and he cocky around me to show who boss? when my parent is not around |
Question: Is it illegal to purposely trigger an allergic reaction?? Posted: 30 Mar 2018 03:06 PM PDT My sister and I got into an argument because she didn't like some food I'd made for dinner and turned it into a 'boys can't cook debate' then today she had fixed breakfast and purposely mixed a little bit of almond into the egg (knowing that I was allergic and would get hives). Although my symptoms aren't servere I feel like what she did should be considered illegal but I couldn't find any proof that it was and my parents are just brush it off as me being dramatic but I don't feel like she should get away with it. It's not that I want her to go to jail for it or anything bc I'm fine but i at least want them to aknowledge that it's not ok, (especially since she did it out of spite) which at this point they're acting like it's not a big deal while I'm the one who have to deal with the hives and discomfort. What should I do? |
Posted: 30 Mar 2018 02:19 PM PDT My dad doesn't know anything about how everytime my aunt comes home she starts yelling at me when I didn't do anything wrong and she would tell lies about how I stole something or "you broke this object." But if I tell my dad, my dad will like call her and ask her what happened. But she will always lie and tell him oh it's "nothing." Idk what to do. |
Question: Mom asked me today to not bring my friend around the house anymore? Posted: 30 Mar 2018 11:26 AM PDT My Mom says my dad has a thing for my friend. I don't believe it, I think my Mom is jealous of me and my friend. what do you know? |
