Question: Is my sister-in-law a bad mother or am I overreacting? Posted: 23 Mar 2018 01:42 PM PDT My husband and I live with his family for now. My SIL lives there too and has two preteen daughters and a three-year-old boy. SIL has a bf who wants no kids and SIL doesn t want to "force hers on him". She is usually at work or at his house while her kids are left with all of us at her parents house. I rarely see her around more than 2 hours. SIL wants to move in with her bf and leave the kids here, but MIL says no. SIL seems to choose him over them and it bothers me. Nobody says a thing because SIL will cut one off completely if they disagree with her choices and "it s not worth the drama because they ll be leaving soon anyways". I feel like MIL and others don t get how terrible it is. I feel it s better to say something and pray SIL will change rather than stay quiet. MIL and I see that SIL s kids are growing up more rude and uncorrected. I worry that her kids will be messed up adults. The other day, the three-year-old had a huge meltdown in the early AM. He kept saying that he didn t want to go. It became a full-on screaming match between SIL and her son and she cussed him out. I grew up in a home without any language or abusive talk so it deeply disturbed me. Before I got up out of bed to say something, the other sister got up and told her they re being way too loud. My questions are these: 1. Should I say something to the sister? 2. If I should say something, what and how should I talk to her? 3. What would you do if this was going on in the place where you live? |
Question: Last time. Ok how do we handle things now? Posted: 23 Mar 2018 01:41 PM PDT The child thinks that my husband is her Dad because the ex has told her this her entire life. She continuously brought the child around my husband's family. And fed her a bunch of lies. This has tore my husband up. He seeked counseling 3 Times. Each professional counselor said it is the MOM that should tell the child. Well the "child" is 20. She is never going to telll Her. The ex-girlfriend lied. She is a nasty person. What should he do now? I don't know how a mother could do this to a child so mean and hateful. It's been 20 years. Ex knew he wasn't my husband's child from the beginning. She wrote another man's name on the birth certificate. The child is still seeking out my husband. I sure she wants answers. |
Question: How should I feel about what my dad did to my daughter? Posted: 23 Mar 2018 01:11 PM PDT My daughter is going to start college in soon. The college is 100 miles away. She will be sharing an apartment with 3 other girls. She ask me how I thought she should get around and go the grocery store and other places as there is no public transportation where she is staying. I ask her if any of the other girls at the apartment had a car and she checked and none did. They told her they will use a bike to get around. She wanted me to buy her a bike. I told her with the high cost of tuition, books, and her apartment, it might be a used bike. She visited my dad and mom last weekend and she talked to them about the problem she would have getting around at college and that I planned to buy her a bike. My dad told her that he used to be an ambulance driver and he had picked up MANY people that had be hit on their bike by a car. He said the bike driver was usually DEAD or severely injured in a car bike accident. He was going to get her something safer than a bike to use a college. He then took her to a car dealer and bought her a new Kia Soul so she would be safe. She thinks she has the greatest grandpa in the world now. I am not sure how I feel about this. Dad did not buy me a new car when I went to college. Is dad trying to make me look bad to my daughter because I could not afford to buy her any car let alone a new one or his he concerned about her safety on a bike. How should I feel about what my dad did? |
Question: Why is my sister like this? Posted: 23 Mar 2018 12:41 PM PDT I'm 22 and she's 24, we're both living on our own on separate sides of the city and every now and again she says or does something extremely shitty to me when I don't do anything to deserve it. I don't say anything rude or start drama with anyone because there's no reason for me to but she looks for reasons to start problems and it drives me insane. |
Question: I am starting to really hate my son. How do I handle this? Posted: 23 Mar 2018 11:53 AM PDT My son is 20yo. He still lives at home. He follows me everywhere I go--and I do mean EVERYWHERE. My son also suffers from mental illness, which makes life extremely difficult for everyone, and he refuses to take any medication. A few days ago, he flew into a violent rage and started tearing up my house. I immediately threw him out. Police were called and after talking with me, I was informed that I couldn't just throw him out and had to let him come back, as this is his residence. The mental health crisis center refused to take him because he wasn't a danger or a threat to anyone or himself. Now that he knows I can't just put him out, he is acting out even worse. And I can't just put him out and I can't afford to file eviction because it costs several hundred dollars that I don't have. My house is just destroyed and I'm stuck with him. I feel like a prisoner. If I could afford to move and leave him behind, I would do it. So far I've managed to convince him to get a job. Now I just have to get him to actually keep it so he can earn enough money to get him into his own place. If he gets the idea that I want him to move out, he just quits his job and then I'm right back at square one having to support him because I can't put him out. I can't get rid of him and he knows it...and now I'm starting to hate him because his violent outbursts may get me evicted and there's nothing I can do about it because I can't stop him. He knows not to do anything that could get him arrested. |
Question: What do you do about nosey neighbors ? Posted: 23 Mar 2018 10:54 AM PDT They look at my house twenty four seven to where its a habit like their in competition with us. Posted: 23 Mar 2018 10:14 AM PDT So I am 22 with a beautiful 2 year old boy, I am also in a relationship, he's not the baby's Dad, together 7 months. Basically, up until recently, I've been worshiping the ground this guy walks on. We are currently looking for a house (I already have one & he has been staying with me, no charge!) & we've put an application in, problem is, we can't agree on one thing! I thought we could, but we really can't, even down to where a kettle goes in our new house! He's good with my son, I'm not expecting mountains to be moved, he already has a Mum & Dad, doesn't need another parent, we agreed that he is to be my sons friend first and foremost. Everyone tells me what a great guy he is and how lucky I am to have him, on one hand they're right, but they don't know what he's really like.. lazy, selfish, argumentive, vile with words, sex obsessed! Also his family are FULL on! Nothing like mine, my family are there when we need each other but at the same time we don't need each other on speed dial or need to know what each other's temperatures are 🤦🏼♀️ I feel like I can't breathe! To put the cherry on top, he wants a baby, & he wants us to get pregnant in may! At first, months ago, I agreed, it was the honeymoon stage & I want another child, but we can't agree, his family are too full in, my son doesn't deal with change well (might be on the spectrum) I'm in debt & I want to do my NVQ 2 & 3 first before another child... Someone help? I don't know what to do? |
Question: Daughter won't speak to me? Posted: 23 Mar 2018 10:05 AM PDT My daughter gets angry with me over odd things, like the way I press her to let me see my granddaughter, 7. This time she is so mad she hasn't spoken to me for 2 months., or let me see or talk to my granddaughter. Meanwhile, I own the condo she lives in and charge her a discounted rent. Yesterday I emailed her that given she has cut me off, I will be listing the condo and she'll have to move. I hear from others she is livid and says I am low. Am I? |
Question: I'm 18 and my parents won't give me money anymore? Posted: 23 Mar 2018 09:53 AM PDT So I just turned 18 and I understand my parents are busy and have bills but they aren't giving me money anymore for anything. I wanted to go and take my permit exam, last week my dad said he'd take me but he never did. My mom says she's too busy to take me and my parents refuse to give me 30 dollars so I can take this test. I really wanted to take this test but I have no money. There's a plasma center nearby my house that'll pay me if I give them my blood but my parents told me not to donate blood anymore and how it's stupid, dangerous and only drug addicts and rapists donate plasma for money and I'm not even allowed to donate for free. My parents also refuse to give me money for anything. I'm considering going back to give plasma because my parents aren't giving me money and they aren't taking me to get my permit after I studied. |
Question: Should I cut my dad out of my life? Posted: 23 Mar 2018 08:36 AM PDT Ok real story here I'm gonna make it simple: Mom and Dad broke up 2 years ago. I live with my mom. Dad is depressed and sick and keeps bugging me about mom, that I should try and fix their relationship because somehow I am involved in this too and I have a big word in it. I don't give a **** and he pisses me off. He is a deadbeat. So should I kick him out of my life? |
Question: I have a strong distaste for my nephews. Is that wrong? Posted: 23 Mar 2018 06:05 AM PDT Like, I REALLY hate them. I wouldn't mind never seeing them again. They're 8 years old. |
Question: My Father threatened to kill us and our pets, what should i do? Posted: 23 Mar 2018 05:51 AM PDT I've told the cops about the threats he has had towards us, about murdering all of us and slaughtering our pets (my dog specifically) and they've done nothing but take evidence and have us write statements. This is causing me to be scared of every noise and little things, like loud trucks because his truck is loud. What should i do? |
Question: Why is Mjaarten's dad 1? Posted: 23 Mar 2018 02:25 AM PDT |
Question: My in laws are driving me nuts. What can I do? Posted: 23 Mar 2018 02:00 AM PDT I'm married to a wonderful man and have two awesome children. They are not mine biologically, but I have taken over as their mother since their father has won full custody (their real mother was neglectful to the point of endangering their lives). We are all happy together. His parents introduce unnecessary stress, however. They own a daycare and we pay for our daughter to go when she gets out of school until we get home (1hr) and our son stays all day. If his father isn't asking for money, his mother is being a control freak. What hurt the most was when she got mad because our daughter did not want what she made for breakfast and instead asked for cereal, so she made a big deal about it when we came in. She told my husband in front of the kids that if their weight did not come up by a certain time, their mother and father would go to jail. She knows the children were taken away because of malnourishment and I make 3 meals a day from scratch to help boost their weight gain. We make sure the fridge is full and they have made significant changes since we have had them. Still, she says little things that just change my baby girl's whole mood to a depressed one. She'll even take food we've sent away and replace it with what SHE wants them to have. We are currently searching for other daycares. Is there anything else we should be doing? |
Posted: 23 Mar 2018 01:17 AM PDT she currently stays with her sister & her husband & her older brother. Ive been told the law has changed or they wouldnt pursue us but i want to be on the safe side. |

Question: Hello everyone I have a family question? Posted: 22 Mar 2018 10:17 PM PDT My wife's cousin he's in her early 50s has an older son in his 30s what is a relation between my wife and her cousin son |
Question: Why do girls cry at everything ? Posted: 22 Mar 2018 10:10 PM PDT My sister is upset she was watching The Beatles cartoon it said Ringo had a girlfriend he was even calling her. She got really upset over that. She cries about him a lot. He's not real he's a freaking cartoon. Everyone knows cartoons aren't real. I'm also a girl I don't cry at everything. She cries at stupid stuff like this. It's after 1 in the morning she can't sleep she doesn't want to sleep alone. I guess I'll be staying with her a while. Why do some girls cry at everything ? How can I help her feel better ? By the way she's 2 almost 3 |
Question: Do I have to let my Mom be in the delivery room with me? Posted: 22 Mar 2018 09:41 PM PDT I'm 39 weeks pregnant and I hardly ever see or here from here. She lives 40 minutes away, never visits and when she's in my city she visits my sister. When I saw her over the summer it wasn't even worth being around her because she would just say " I wanna go home and sleep" or when I would visit, I would be around her for about an hour then she went back to bed and when she found out I was pregnant she called me a moron because I'm not married. Anyway as for my birth plan I hired a Doula and someone I know to be my labor coach plus the baby's dad wants to be in there. My Mom asked if she could be in there and I said that I'm not sure and she got sad and said that " I better come first on that" I understand that she's the grandmother but I haven't had any support from her for the past 9 months of me growing this baby. |
Question: Should homeschooling be illegal? Posted: 22 Mar 2018 09:17 PM PDT Homeschooling can hide child abuse. Parents are not required to expose them to others but to provide the education for them. That results in slipping through the cracks, and nobody will suspect. As long as the kids LOOK fed, clothed, has shelter, etc. nobody would suspect. Generally, most families do not intentionally abuse their children out of hatred or anger so the public has no reason to suspect it in a healthy-looking family. That hides abuse. |
Posted: 22 Mar 2018 09:13 PM PDT My sister said she was having her birthday party but she never told me what time it started. Today passes I don't hear anything from anyone so I assume it got canceled because they usually remind me. Today my sister text me that she had her party and said "sorry you missed" it and I was supposed to arrange a ride. How was I supposed to when I had no clue when it started and no one said anything about it? I feel like I was deliberately left out. My baby is due in a week and now I don't want them to be there when I deliver. |
Question: Should we invite my fiance's step mother to our wedding? Posted: 22 Mar 2018 08:54 PM PDT She is a TERRIBLE person.. My fiance has been out of the house for 3 years now, but his stepmother is awful to his younger siblings. They would rotate and stay at their dad's for a week and then go back to their mom's, but she has abused them and treated them so badly that his mother won't let them go over there anymore. She also spread rumors to people that I was cheating on my fiance. The only reason why she is still on the guest list is because im afraid she wont let his dad come if she cant. Also, I honestly do believe that she would show up anyways and ruin my wedding by throwing a fit.. And even if she didn't come, she would bash me on Facebook and just try to make everyone hate me. At this point I don't know what to do :/ |
Question: Is okay if my little niece only likes to play with kitchen set toys? Posted: 22 Mar 2018 07:42 PM PDT I sort of got her into playing with kitchen sets and cooking/baking type of toys. I told her that this what girls should play with, not with trucks or any toys for boys. I sort of feel bad, because now she won't even play with anything that's slightly associated with boys. I just thought she should play with toys that for girls only, because it'll help her become a proper girl. Oh boy, I hope this is okay.. |
Question: Where can I go? What can I do? Posted: 22 Mar 2018 07:23 PM PDT I wanna move out but its really complicated. I am tired of feeling depressed but I am reminded of it every single day and my depressing past. My step parents argue on a daily basis and its depressing dealing with my step Dad who has dimensia. It brings me down ,I wanna leave it all but its going to be a while before I can move out. Is their something I can do or a place I can go when they're arguing? |
Question: Why does my grandpa call me his daughter? Posted: 22 Mar 2018 07:13 PM PDT My grandpa calls me his daughter, my grandpas sister which is my aunt Sharon calls me his daughter, my grandpas mother which would be my great grandmother calls me his daughter.. My mother says she did not sleep with my grandpa and she freaked out when I asked her why my grandpa calls me his daughter and refuses to accept my mother as his daughter, also, my mother always told me through out my life that this other guy was my father but she said she just lied about that so that I wouldn't grow up being heart broken about who my real dad is and now she says that her boyfriend whom she got with a year ago is my father.. I am so lost like.... what's going on with my life .. |
Posted: 22 Mar 2018 06:28 PM PDT I realize my mother is not a good person. Its hard to let her go because obviously she doesn't care for me as much as she should. How do I handle this? |
Question: What should I do, should I leave? Find a better place? Posted: 22 Mar 2018 02:16 PM PDT My wife's mom is using me demanding that I pay her 200 bucks all because I was trying to find a job and couldn't until I got one she decided to pay her money for supporting both me and my wife yet at the same time humiliating me and mistaken me for a terrorist when I have not done any of the things they do. All because i ain't that tall, etc. I feel like I'm being robbed, doing all the cleaning while she litters the place, what do you think I should do? |
