Question: Please help, advice? being controlled by mother? Posted: 21 Feb 2018 12:18 PM PST i am in highschool & i'm constantly being babied. i have no one to turn to & i feel really drained, numb and sad. my mom controls me. she does not let me go anywhere but school & school sports, and I'm not over exaggerating either. im not allowed to have a curfew. all the kids my age have a curfew & stay up late. im not aloud to hang w/ friends. if i do, she'll threaten the cops on me and then get accuse me of having sex or doing something else bad, even though im a virgin & ive never smoked or drank. i am a honors student, & never really been in the "outside world", so i don't understand why she treats me like this. if i question her authority, i get slapped. one time last year I got slapped so hard in the face that my nose bled. i had to find out the hard way to keep my mouth shut because she's not a approachable person. they treat me like this, like I'm some sort of caged animal. & then they all wonder when i act out of anger. when I peel my bedroom walls. when i sleep all day. when i have a attitude towards them. theres nobody i can turn to and my childhood is being drained from me. advice? |

I'm 19 and she is 56, is that weird that we are as close as we are? |

Question: My dad doesn't think I'm ready to start driving. Is driving really that hard? Posted: 21 Feb 2018 05:59 AM PST I turned 16 a few months ago. I'm now old enough to get my driver's license. However, my father is giving me second thoughts about driving. He doesn't think I'm capable of driving. I told him I'm ready to start driving, and that I want him to teach me. He refuses to teach me. He told me, "You may think you're ready, but I don't think you're ready." This made me a little angry. Who are you to tell me what I'm not ready for? He told me, "If you proved to mom and I that you were ready I would." I asked him, "What do I have to do to prove that I'm ready to drive." He couldn't really answer my question. He then began to get an attitude and told me, "You're being very combative and argumentative." No, I wasn't. I genuinely wanted to know why he thinks I'm not ready to drive. He couldn't answer my question because I think he has no reason to think I'm not ready. I'm not an out of control teenager. I don't party. I don't do drugs. I don't sneak out. I help out around the house by; taking the trash out, washing the dishes, doing laundry, etc. I earn straight A's in school. I feel as though I'm responsible enough to start driving, so I don't understand why he thinks I'm not ready. He tells me driving isn't that easy. However, all of my friends in school that drive tell me it's very easy. My mother tells me it's not hard. So why is my dad telling me it's hard? How can I prove to him that I'm ready to start driving, and have him teach me? |
Question: Did i deserve to get kicked in the balls ? Posted: 21 Feb 2018 05:17 AM PST days ago I was at home with my sister and she was wearing this really low-cut, revealing shirt and I never realised she had such big boobs so naturally I took a harmless peek when she was bending down but I looked a little too obviously at her breasts. She saw me and kicked me in the balls, like HARD. It hurt ... She's normally not like that so i don' t know why she did it. Has anyone ever experienced something similar? I KNOW I shouldn't have looked but guys can't help their hormones lol Is my sister mean? Or do all sisters kick their brothers like that? |
Question: Is my dad right to do this? Posted: 20 Feb 2018 09:08 PM PST My dad says at night if anything is plugged in it will burn the house down, because he is working on a house that burned down because if faulty wiring. Well he unplugs everything before I go to bed and if I even plug one thing in he gets mad. "Do you want to die because of fire when you are sleeping?" "It will burn you alive to have anything plugged when you are sleeping!". He does not even let me have my own fan plugged in. He gets mad when my phone is dead in the morning, he tells me to not have it own mute just in case he needs to text me at night. I can't plug it in because we'll, he will get mad. I told him if I can't have ANYTHING plugged in, I can't charge my phone.and he yelled at me for pointing a flaw in his logic. The thing is he keeps his clock, fan, tv, computer plugged in all the time. I asked why can't I also have at least my fan if he keeps those on all the time and he said because he makes the rules. How do I tell him to stop? This is annyoing af and I can't move out because I am interested 18 years of age. He gets mad when my phone is dead in the morning and won't let me charge it overnight. He thinks it will start fires. The thing is his computer, fan, clock, heck even our router can start fires like that, but because there yours you they won't? Is he right for doing this? Like at least let me have my fannn. |
Posted: 20 Feb 2018 09:00 PM PST I have way financially and job wise to adopt two amazing little boys, or I could go back to school and get my degree and be done with school in December. I would do both but Working full time school full time and being a single mom full times is ALOT. |
Question: What did I do wrong? Posted: 20 Feb 2018 08:33 PM PST I really want my son to succeed, but every year he just finds a way to set a new low. He's 24 now. He is jealous that his sister is graduating before he is, so he told us that he had finished his Associates Degree from community college, but I found out that he lied, and he needs three more classes to get the AD. I'm so mad at him because I was originally so excited that he would amount to something. I invited all of our extended family (cousins, aunt/uncle) to see a graduation that won't happen. They are going to DC for his sister's graduation anyway, but he pulled this stunt because he wanted to feel important and feel successful. I got so mad at him, that I stopped giving him money, and put him on a credit card that he has to pay $39 off every month. If he buys anything, he is only allowed to use his credit card and he must pay that off too. He's at a four year university now, but he makes 70's and 80's in his classes every semester, which is laughable if he wants to go to University of Wyoming for graduate school. I don't ever see him take studying seriously by taking all of his books, sitting at a desk, and reading every chapter with a pencil to underline keywords so he can pass or even ace exams. He continues to amount to nothing. Is he college material? How do get him to stop being lazy? |
Posted: 20 Feb 2018 07:43 PM PST I lost a very expensive necklace my uncle got me for my birthday last year. I'm terrified to tell my aunt and uncle (my guardians) because I know they'll be beyond mad. I know I messed up, and I've spent a few nights crying over it. I just can't work up the nerve to tell them! I haven't seen the necklace in a few weeks and I might have lost it at school. I have no idea how to tell them, I know I'll be grounded for a long time, and I want to be honestly. But I don't know what to say. |
Question: How would you approach your toxic brother? Posted: 20 Feb 2018 06:15 PM PST My younger brother helped me during difficult times. He lent me some money, 500 to be exact. He then let me rent a room from him for 425.00 per month. I was not on the lease. Our apartment got flooded and we were evicted due to him changing the electricity bill into the landlords name. I paid up until the 15th of the month. The landlord put us in a hotel for 5 day, ending on the 11th. While living with him he was very unapproachable and displayed violent behavior towards me 3 times, to the point where I told him if he continued I was going to call the Police. It has been over a month since we were flooded out and he is looking for his money. I am looking for another job to source my income but the idea of even trying to reason with him makes me feel strong negative emotions in my gut, which sometimes can cause me to vomit. I want to work out a payment plan with him. How would you approach it? |
Question: What do you do when my moms side of the family is like this? Posted: 20 Feb 2018 06:02 PM PST My mom and my stepdad and my stepbrothers don't live with me. However them and their church and the stepdads side of the family is like this. These people will make statements to try to cause a fight or an argument. You cannot keep peace with these people. They will start provoking you when you get around them for no apparent reason, they might bully you to motivate you to anger.. in some cases they might go to people and try to get them antagonized and angry at you I think it's calles covert bullying? They will do this to try to get you into a position to fight them. I blocked most of them and ignore them. What should I do? |
Question: How can I tell if a child is abused or just out of control? Posted: 20 Feb 2018 04:10 PM PST This little girl has a habit of lying and shows bullying online. She's 10 or 11. There was a CPS investigation after she lied to someone that her mom beats children (she didn't realize the extent of the story). There was no sign of abuse, and this child admitted to a false story. Her language and knowledge in sexual things is not appropriate. Theres some desire to take her anger out on strangers from these websites. She said she likes to target specific users, who appear emotionally vulnerable or is a child smaller than her. That's all I know. Would these be signs of something going on? |
Posted: 20 Feb 2018 03:20 PM PST I tried to cut the button off, but he just bought me another shirt with a tighter collar. When ever my friends hag out at my house, they ask me why I have my shirt buttoned up and that I look way too formal and way too cooped up. I have tried talking to him, but he says that he won't let me take the button off. |
