Posted: 04 Jun 2019 03:57 PM PDT I'm a very sociable person, I get along with everyone in general and I'm not someone people dislike, but I have no friends.I'm not close enough with anyone to invite them to go see a movie, to eat together sometime, when I'm invited to things it's usually group events, I'm the person that when I say I "can't come to the party" I only get a "oh, next time then!" instead of the the "oh, let's rescheduled, I really want you there!".I have the feeling I can't connect with anyone. If I feel lonely I have no one to call, as I'm not close enough with anyone to just ask them for a shoulder to cry on.I have a great girlfriend, I know she loves me but whenever she is not around I'm alone. I'm also worried because I feel jealous whenever her friends invite her out or just to go to their place to chill, and I hate it. I want to be happy for her, that she has great people in her life but I just get sad every time she is out as it just reminds me of how lonely I am.And I can't talk to her, not only she would feel guilty for going out with her friends which she definitely shouldn't, but I'm scared she would pity me and the last thing I want is someone's pity.This is getting worse lately and I can feel myself starting to try too hard to connect with people and I'm sure my desperation will start to become noticeable.How can I deal with this? Posted: 04 Jun 2019 01:53 PM PDT Okay so I have this friend that I have known since middle school (we'll call him Josh) Well the thing is (i'm gonna sound mean here) I have kind of outgrown him and moved on in my life with new friends, new experiences, etc. He hasn't. He has sort of been stuck in the same world since middle school and hasn't really grown out of all that. When we hang out it's kinda stale because i'm into new adventures and he wants to do the same stuff we did when we were 14. Anyhow just last week we were hanging out and I stupidly mentioned that I was bringing my best friend (We'll call her Taylor) with me to Galaxy's Edge (the new Star Wars expansion at Disneyland). I didn't think anything of it and I have been planning my trip with my best friend and her girlfriend for over a week now. Well I just got a text from Josh that he is coming with me to Disney even though I NEVER invited him. I can't afford to bring him and I don't have the room for him to come. What kinda pisses me off is I know he invited himself to this event because he felt jealous of Taylor and I but he does all manner of stuff with a friend of his (we'll call him Dylan) that he never invites me too because "It's Dylan and our thing man sorry". So I kinda don't really know what to say. I mean I can't tell him he isn't allowed in the entire state of California or at Disneyland so I don't really know what to do. I've just resorted to not telling him the date we're going and the hotel we're staying at. |

And this girl that I met this semester in the class, we talk and been friends since the beginning of the semester. She's a good friend but sometimes she can be a sensitive person. Anyways, both of us were running towards the swing set and she tripped and fell, about 5ft away from the swings, but I continued running. I thought she was just gonna get up and join me but instead she got up and ran towards the teacher. Btw she wasn't hurt or anything. Later I asked her why she didn't join me and she said it was because I didn't stop when she fell, and then walked away upset. I didn't think it'd be a big deal to stop and wait for her considering that it wasn't that far away from where we were going. Now she refuses to talk to me and avoids me. Was I in the wrong? This colleague is ordinarily excellent and doesn't make mistakes (that I know of), but I am very thorough when I check others work which is why I think I was asked to do it. This colleague is now obviously devastated at what's happened and I feel so guilty about it. What should/can I do? |

She's really 17, but states she is 18 in her dating profile, Coffee Meets Bagel, and she won't be graduating high school until next year! She's super attractive and can get any guy, but she tells me she is tired of immature guys around her age, and wants to date someone more mature and cultured. She tells me the older guys, usually in late 20s and sometimes in 30s or 40s, are well educated in good jobs and having college and advanced college degrees, and provide much more stimulating conversations and plan much better dates such as taking her to ballets and plays, proper sit down restaurants (that guys our age can't afford). She tells me she always meets in public setting, never goes over their places or gets in their cars, and carries pepper spray. She tells me I shouldn't worry. I think the older guys are trying to have sex with her and will use their experiences to take advantage of her. I asked if she was using the guys to pay for meals and entertainments because some of the dates are pricey by our standards, but she said no, and that some of the dates have been lowkey coffee dates. I also find it creepy the guys would pursue a girl so much younger and still in high school |

I joined a gym a month ago. I noticed that the instructors pay too much of attention to me. It's not that i have a problem with that but i do wonder and worry if the coaches over there are making fun of me and talking behind my back.While working out they are like come on Chris come on Chris pushing me. I have noticed after working out one of the coaches just asked me where i stay and what i do and stuff. The thing they generally never take so interest in any member. The thing ik that weird people stand out so they get noticed and get a lot of attention from others... Especially bullies... So i was just linking my school life to the gym. She was angry at me, snapping at me and treated me like a doormat. I ignored her messages and she showed up at my social group weeks later. She was glaring at me as if she wanted to kill me that night then she made an indirect comment about friends who stab other friends in the back. Then I felt guilty, so I let her back into my life. Since then, I feel like she has tried to turn me against my group of close friends and isolated me away from them. I was getting on very well with the group. I messaged the group asking if we could all put together a gift for someone's birthday. She never replied but everyone else on the group did and people said it was a great idea. Then, the next day she showed up with an even bigger gift. Then on the day of the birthday I got dressed up and she saw me and said 'you look like a princess, you always have lots of nice dresses' and she kept asking to take photos of me. She stuck to me the entire day and made sure I couldn't speak to anyone else. When I went over to speak to my friend, she was stood behind me glaring at me. The entire night, she was trying to take photos of me on my own. I had a photo with her and she said sarcastically 'you always look so nice in photos you make me look like garbage stood next to you.' Why does she keep trying to take photos of me, and why does she tell me I make her look rubbish? |

We lived in different towns by then and he said it's probably too late but I said it's never too late to start talking. So then we started talking (as friends) online. He told me that we should talk more. Then I got a boyfriend and we talked less often but he still liked my posts. One time he told me he thought he saw me at work and was going to come and talk to me before he realised it was a stranger. The last time we talked, he told me he had dropped out of uni. We hadn't spoken in over a year when I posted on Facebook praising my boyfriend of five years for getting into a prestigious university. After that I noticed that this guy had blocked me. We dated in fifth grade lol and then took a break until freshman year and the beginning of our sophomore year. We're okay-friends. Not best friends and we don't hang out, but we'll have progressive discussions, if that makes any sense lol. So he's really into books and he's always on Twitter, Instagram, and FB literally just reviewing books every day. That's kind of his trademark and what everyone knows him for. I kind of want to make a youtube video reviewing a book, but I don't want to come-off as copying him or anything. Being ex's, I don't know if this would be considered weird. Posted: 03 Jun 2019 06:58 PM PDT ok so i have this friend and basically we barely even text because her phone got stolen and she can't always communicate unless it's through her moms phone. anyways i was trying to get my friends attention via instagram dm and she kept reading my messages but not replying, so assuming that she's in a sour mood i leave her alone. then i try again 2 hours later, same result, so then i try again 2 hours later, once again same result. so then i just go to bed and decide to try again in the morning only to find that she blocked me. so then i try asking a bunch of people in our friend group if i did anything to upset my friend or if she had told them anything, and all of them were clueless. in the end i find out that the reason i got blocked by her was that she didn't feel like talking to me and i was apparently being annoying, so she blocked me so she wouldn't have to read my messages. is that rude or was i really just being bothersome? |
| Posted: 03 Jun 2019 06:31 PM PDT Mom and I have been sharing my truck since her van died in January. Saturday I had the truck and drove my girlfriend and her friend to the river. Her friend had cigarettes and we smoked a few then she put the pack in my truck. Yesterday morning my 14 year old sister and I were in my truck waiting for mom to get in and drive us to church. My sister was riding by the window and pulled down her visor look in the mirror and the pack fell out. When mom got in and found out, she was furious at me but calmed down when I explained someone must have left it in my truck and I do not smoke. She then took it and went back into the house. When we got home mom told me I was grounded because she checked my clothes when she took the cigarettes in the house and smelled smoke on them. I am grounded from doing anything but going to school, church, or work until the end of June for smoking. Mom is also not letting me drive my truck the rest of June and letting my sister choose her seat (which means I will be stuck in the middle) for lying to her. I told my girlfriend about what happened when I saw her at school and she made it clear she wants me to take the blame and make mom think the cigarettes were mine. She says she will make it up to me in July when I am no longer grounded if I don't tell mom the cigarettes belong to her friend and we were all smoking. Wondering if I should take the blame to cover for my girlfriend and her friend or tell mom the truth about what really happened? |
