Question: Independent from Bestfriend? Posted: 23 Jun 2019 05:22 PM PDT My older sister and I are literally best friends. But lately I have been really wanting to be my own person. It s harder than it seems because we do everything together. I want my own group of friends, hobbies, space, etc. She still my best friend but I want to express myself, by myself. I don t want to feel responsible for her anymore. Sometimes she talks badly about other people and I don t want to be pulled down with her. I shouldn t be my responsibility to tell her what to do or how to act. For example, I have to constantly remind her to clean up behind her self; (She is old enough to do this in her own & she s not disabled!) I m so used to doing everything together that I can t do things myself. I just want to be independent but I don t want to offend her. I want to learn how to do things myself and be an open-minded person BY MYSELF! How can I do this without offending her? |
Question: How to stop being so clingy with my friends? Please Help?? Posted: 23 Jun 2019 04:53 PM PDT Okay so for most of my life I have been kind of a loner and have been mistreated most my life and hurt, but once I hit adulthood I found this awesome hangout and met my current group of friends that I consider family. Thing is I have crippling anxiety due to my past traumas with people hurting me and leaving so while most of the time i'm fine; once this anxiety hits I become annoyingly clingy. Like I have to hug my best friend all the time, I have to always be there with my best friend, etc. Last night I actually kinda realized after I got home how cringily clingy I was. It was so bad one of my friends was like "dude i'm all hugged out chill". How do I stop this? Because I fear that my fear of losing my friends is actually what will cause me to lose them. I'm not this way all the time but on the times that I am it's bad and I know its bad and I need to stop. Any advice and help??? Please??? |
Question: I really need some advice.? Posted: 23 Jun 2019 04:36 PM PDT Hi everyone, I'm in a situation where I am presently very lost. Essentially what's happening is I recently made a friend right? But their actions have been very concerning to me. They call me their best friend and I know they have some mental stuff going on, and they do draw me things and act nice but... They are very uncomfortable to be around sometimes. They flirt with me a lot even though I have a girlfriend, they say they'd marry me if she wasn't there. They constantly complain to me about their problems, and it's gotten to the point where it's been detrimental to my health and I had to ask for them to leave me alone for a while. Which, they've dealt with a lot of friends leaving them but as soon as I said that I was guilted with a "you're not leaving me right..." I used to have a lot of fun talking to them but it seems like it's getting worse and I don't know fully how to address the problem cause every time I do I get a "sorry" but they keep doing the same things. Part of that could be me though cause I always say everything is fine. But the real icing on top is that they've internet stalked me so much that they've reached out to literally ALL of my friends or people who I just interacted with??? That does include my girlfriend by the way who once I found out that they were talking made me VERY uncomfortable. They've also reached out to my younger brother who is defiently no where near their age. What do I do? |

Posted: 23 Jun 2019 03:13 PM PDT Knowing full well that this person would most likely not do the same for you, would you still try to defend or warn them that they are in danger? I have a friend who I believe is in an abusive relationship. We had a falling out and don't talk to each other anymore however I still worry about her. If she were to get killed tomorrow and I did nothing to prevent it, I'd never forgive myself. Am I being too much of a push over? Should I care about what happens to her even though she screwed me over when I tried helping last time? What can I do when the victim defends the attacker? Ultimately, you could say it's none of my business but this person destroyed my phone as well so it is kinda personal. Would it be best to just stay out of it and let nature take its course or get even? |
Question: Is this a quote a single person would share? Posted: 23 Jun 2019 02:17 PM PDT i want to marry someone as funny as me. imagine we both laughing because we forgot to pick the kids up from school. |
Question: Is there any legitimate way to meet friends on the internet? Posted: 23 Jun 2019 01:01 PM PDT I'm 41 and have a busy life. I do not have time to meet up with people or maintain a serious friendship. I do not have any actual friends, but there are times I would like to connect with someone perhaps just be able to message them and discuss different things. I have looked into some apps but most of them are geared more towards dating. I tried chat rooms but most of the people in the few I could find were very young or simply looking for a hook up. Thanks for any suggestions. |

Posted: 23 Jun 2019 10:11 AM PDT Ok so I'm 26. Back when I was in high school, like 14, I got messed up. Like everything, depressed, bad anxiety, antisocial, etc. It got worse and worse as time went on. And in college it got even more worse. Like my early years of college I'd drive home every weekend, even during the week, and lock myself in my room and vicariously live my life through tv. Like seriously, lol. Sat nights Id be watching movies like superbad or 22 jump street, etc, when I could have been out partying only. So, in the last two years of my college, 4th and 5th(I took an extra year). I did get social and come out of my shell. Like it wasn't the same you know. I had missed out so much for years. I have some friends now but it's not the same. Anways, I've lived the same place my whole life, Georgia, and I have all these bad memories. I'm planning on getting a jobs out ouf state(up North, sick of the South). I want a fresh slate and start my life over. My question is, will be meeting new people be really hard, espcially in a new state. Like finding friends my 4th year was pretty hard because everyone had their own friend groups. I really need some honest advice. |

Question: Friend is acting distant? Posted: 23 Jun 2019 07:54 AM PDT I have known my friend Jess since January and imitially we got along really well. We moved overseas to study Law together and had to leave behind our family and friends, which for her included her husband. A group of seven of us went together and we barely knew each other beforehand but developed a close friendship. Jess has told me a lot of personal things about her family that she does not share with anyone else and I have told her things which the others don't know either and out of all my friends I am closest to her. Just like woth my other friends I always try to be there for her, which is just the way I tend to be. However I have noticed on occasions that she acts distamt. We had a break back in March and when I went back she stayed in touch with everyone except for me. Q week before the break she had been acting distant but once the break was over she went back to normal. Fast forwatf to last month she started acting distant again and would avoid having conversations with me and keep them short if we talked. She also seems to get upset around me quite easily and always seems in a bad mood even if I don't say anything to her. Whenever we are with our friends she is back to normal and treats me the same way she used to but when we are not its the complete opposite. We will have to see each other for the next three years so I would like to sort this out and figure out why she is acting this way. Someone told me it might be because I do nice things for he. and she thinks I like her which is not true. She knows I am nice to everyone and she also knows who I like so I doubt its that |

Question: How should I ask her out? Posted: 23 Jun 2019 06:32 AM PDT So, I'm a 21 year old guy. Back when I was a senior in high school, 18, I sent a friend request to a girl I've never met on social media. She was a mutual friend on the list, I thought she was cute, and sent it. She accepted. Over the years we have commented, liked, etc. in addition, I found out my father actually knows her father through work. Crazy connection. Small world. So here's the thing. I have a crush on this girl, I like her a lot. And I want to meet up with her in person for coffee or something. I don't want it to be a "just a friend" thing, because I think she's cute, but I also want her to say yes and meet me. So should I directly call it a date or no? She doesn't have a consistent boyfriend, and I feel I'm equally as accomplished and driven as her. Just not sure what to call this event. |
Question: My best friend of years told my secret? Posted: 23 Jun 2019 06:25 AM PDT I told my best friend of over 5 years that my boyfriend and a i hadn't broken up. I vented to her about our relationship and how I wanted to work on myself. I told her not to tell anyone because i didn't want people to be in my business about my relationship A few weeks later i found out my friend told people about us breaking up and etc. i confronted her and asked her why did she tell my business and she said "why do you care if people know" and i said "i care because i told you not to tell anyone" |
Question: Male coworkers notice when I wore makeup? Posted: 23 Jun 2019 01:29 AM PDT I usually wear little to no makeup to work, but today I wore eye shadow, eyeliner, and mascara and my 3 other male coworkers all told me they noticed. Does this mean I was ugly before lol just wondering |
Question: What is a public place that is more private? Posted: 23 Jun 2019 12:20 AM PDT I mean to meet new friends... public place but more intimate with a group of people with the same interest and background |
Question: Why is everybody so mean to me? Posted: 22 Jun 2019 09:40 PM PDT Everybody is so mean to me. My family, even people I don't know. Everybody is just so quick to treat me with cruelty and write me off. I tell them how I feel but no one cares. It's like I'm nothing in this world. I haven't done anything wrong. I'm a nice person. |
Posted: 22 Jun 2019 08:53 PM PDT is this implying that the decision has not been made yet. So basically things with her ex are up in the air and they may get back together and are working on things. So this statement is saying lets try again and if we cant be together im glad we met or is it saying that the relationship is over permanently and she is glad that it happened |
Question: What to do with annoying friend? Posted: 22 Jun 2019 08:22 PM PDT if you have a friend who is very negative and annoying, always irritate you... what to do with him? What is the cause? we are working adults |
Question: 2 year old girl birthday gift ideas? Posted: 22 Jun 2019 08:18 PM PDT It's my best friends 2 year old birthday. I want to give her something that's not a toy. She already has plenty and I know she will be getting them from other people. They just moved into a new house last weekend and she got her own room. I was thinking of making her a macrame wall hanging with flowers that go with the color of her room. Would that be a good gift? |
Question: What should I do if I feel bad about not being invited? Posted: 22 Jun 2019 08:05 PM PDT There was a car meet and all my friends in my circle went to it with out telling me. They talked about it on the table after they went. Apparently there were people with lamborghini and ferraris. They said I wouldn't fit in. I feel brittle now. And deep sadness. Should I still consider them my friends or should I consider them acquaintances? How can I feel better about existing? |

Question: Why does my friend hardly give me gifts? Posted: 22 Jun 2019 07:48 PM PDT We've been "friends" for 10 years and I always remember her bday. I would give her gift every year but she would only give me sometimes. She treats her "boyfriends" better than me. |
Posted: 22 Jun 2019 12:06 PM PDT I saw him at my job and his face was all red. And he said he would message me. And he kept staring and looking back at me. He kept asking if I'm ok... Like why is he asking if I'm ok??? Why is he asking and trying to talk to me after he ghosted me... Like wtf smh.. |
