Question: Can ghosts fear someone for their actions? (part 2)? Posted: 29 Jun 2019 02:02 PM PDT recently though, my brother has been the center of attention. awhile back, my brother took a trip to california. he was gone maybe 4 weeks at most. the night he got back, he laid in his bed, his back to his door. he heard the hallway light turn on and his door open. he heard footsteps and a weight slowly fall onto his bed. he heard a voice of a girl mumble out "where were you? where were you gone so long?" thinking it was me, he said back "alyssa, you know i was in california." the voice then said "oh. ok. well i'm glad you're back. i love you." the source then got up and left. the next morning my brother awoke to find no one had been home except for mom. i was at my dads and my sister was at a friends. now this next part is personal, but you don't know me so whatever. a few months ago, my brother, mom, and sister were home. i don't know where i was but i was probably at a friends house or sumthin. my grandparents were planning on coming over so everyone would watch a fight on the tv. my mom and brother got into a big argument but had to put it to the side when my grandparents arrived. my mom made the mistake of bringing it up and my brother grew furious. he grabbed a pizza and threw it on the ground. almost beat up my grandpa. my sister just watched from the corridor. since that fight, my grandparents refuse to talk to my brother. |

Question: Why is my sister is a compulsive liar? Posted: 29 Jun 2019 12:54 PM PDT My sister is 28 years old, 5 years older than me and constantly lies about literally everything. She's the type of person that blows every NORMAL story out of proportion and will always add her little details to make herself/ her life sound more interesting. She will also lie and say things that specifically didnt happen, same as her husband. And for what reason? I have no idea. Neither me nor my older (35) year old sister like her. I live right next to her though and can't seem to get away. She's been absolutely crazy her whole life. She threw a phone at me one time because I wasn't old enough to get into an R rated movie. How do I deal with this person? |
Question: Is it bad to say that my stepmom is not as great as my late mom was? Posted: 29 Jun 2019 11:20 AM PDT If you have the time, please fully read my story on this. Thanks. If I had the chance, I would take my late mom (died in 2014 due to liver disease) back in a heartbeat. My new stepmom is turning out to be an a**hole. Not a strict parent like my late mom was, but a total A**HOLE. She keeps lambasting me over the fact that I should be more responsible and mature over myself (despite the fact that I had straight A's in most of my marking periods, I'm on the honor roll, I go outside and play basketball to exercise, I take out the trash, etc.) One time, when it was starting to rain, my baby brother Emmanuel and I were about to go inside our house after playing basketball when all of a sudden, she comes near the doorstep and starts to nag to us over us exercising more outside, despite me telling her that it was RAINING out. She then told me to shut up, and with my brother visibly crying in front of us because he doesn't like playing in the rain, she manipulated him to go outside on the porch with the basketball that we had.....and he just bounced with it. Not into the basket of the basketball stand or anything. Her ethics make NO sense to me. Oh, and she has a daughter, and I bet she loves her WAY more than us three siblings (me, my middle brother Matthew, and Emmanuel). It's like there's nothing for me to do to make her completely happy. She's an immigrant from Liberia, and my dad is fawning over her needs right now, and why wouldn't he? I don't blame him. I can't even articulate enough how much my stepmom's a b*tch. I just can't stand how much she behaves around us like she's holier than us. It's just so pathetic. And by daughter, I mean grown-up daughter from Liberia Now she's nagging me to go wash of all of my socks (some were already clean) despite the fact that I have to go work soon (I'm 18 and just graduated from high school), and my workplace doesn't even allow socks with logos, yet most of my socks do have them. But it's "SHUT UP" this or "SHUT UP" that. She didn't have to be so rude over it. I had to find plain white or black socks through my tub or nearby drawers, finding at least two unmatched (design-wise) ones. |

Question: Why is my dad punishing me for my car breaking down? Posted: 29 Jun 2019 09:44 AM PDT (I'm 17) My dad was doing some work around the house today and asked me to go to the grocery store and pick up a case of water bottles and some milk. Well, I got to the store and got the stuff, but when I came out again, I couldn't get my car started for squat. I called my dad, he came and tried to jump it, but we still couldn't get it to start, so he called the shop and the mechanic came and towed it back to his place. Now my dad's saying that when we get the car back I'm not allowed to drive it and is acting like it's my fault that the car broke down. All the fluids are topped off and it was at 3/4 tank for gas so it's not like I'm running it on empty or anything. For all I know, maybe a wire came loose or something, which wouldn't be my fault. How do I make him understand I had no control over this?? |

Question: My mother never lets me go out in hot weather. Is this a good reason to keep me inside? Posted: 29 Jun 2019 08:36 AM PDT During the summer when it's hot, my mother NEVER lets me go out of the house. She's alright if it's certain temperatures. However, if it reaches at least 30°C (86°F), I'm not allowed to go outside of the house because it's "too hot". The temperature has reached 31°C (87°F) today - and according to the weather forecast, it feels like 36°C (97°F). All of my friends and their families and friends have gone to places like beaches, parks and forests with lakes and rivers, outdoor swimming pools, indoor swimming pools with air conditioning, etc. However, I'm not allowed to go outside of the house. If I do, my mother will literally freak out and shout at me. I keep trying to persuade her to let me go, but I keep getting the same answer - no. She'd rather have me cool down with a fan rather than cooling down in a swimming pool, or the sea, or a lake, or a river. Is the heat a good reason for my mother to keep me inside? |
Question: My Mom's cousin had an affair and got a divorce. Is this any of my business? Posted: 29 Jun 2019 08:05 AM PDT She divorced her husband for some guy she fell in love with at her beach. This was several years ago. She is still with the lover. |
Posted: 29 Jun 2019 07:51 AM PDT I will be seeing them at a wedding next spring and I will make a point of seeing them next summer as New York will be my summer destination. I won't work this year cause my father cannot make it and I don't have the money to go alone. How do I get over the disappointment of this? I had thought all year I'd be out there this summer and now I am not. |
Question: Why is my grandma such a *****? Posted: 29 Jun 2019 07:19 AM PDT I know she's old, she loves to argue with my mom. She nags a lot. She's nasty and controlling. She snaps at me for no reason. Me and my mom take her home Thursday-Fridays. She always says "it's okay" when something bad happens. Couple days ago, she's been acting like a huge ***** and I told my mom and she was okay with it and didn't even try talking to her about it like wow. She's so annoying and always calls my name when she needs something. She's such a old witch who should die. I'm 19 btw she's 75 |
Question: How do you handle a toxic sister? Posted: 29 Jun 2019 05:11 AM PDT Most of my family doesn't speak to her even my 7 other siblings... she literally has a problem with everyone... no matter where she goes. She's rude, spiteful and always looking for revenge when she doesn't get her way, she never has a stable home because every where she goes she creates problems... she also doesn't like to work or even go back to school... she's in her mid 20s now. She has a son which I feel like she doesn't want anymore...she sent him to his dads to stay but then he filed for child support and baby bonus and she only took him back because of that.. but I really worry for him, but now I can't handle being around her anymore, I live with her right now but I'm ready to move... but I know if I do she'll turn depressed even more and hate her life more what do I do? She's creating problems for me personally I can't handle it anymore |
Question: How can I help my brother quit being an alcoholic? Posted: 29 Jun 2019 02:45 AM PDT He started drinking after his divorce 1 year ago and he won't listen to any of us. He yells at anyone who tries to help him and there's never a way to talk to him because he's never sober anymore he's always wasted and he's wasting his life. He's living with me now it's really depressing and I need to get him out of here the right way. Can I make him go to rehab or does he have to agree to go there? |
Question: Is My Foster Mom Just Another Hater ? Posted: 28 Jun 2019 11:01 PM PDT Okay So Boom. I'm 17. I moved into her home in May. At first things were great. She kept calling me her "daughter" but I most certainly was not comfortable with that considering the fact that I was 17 & was clearly aware that she wasn't my mother. Not even close to being her. & yeah after we got this new girl she started to become extremely negative. She finds any & every reason to get a reaction out of me. She takes my kindness for weakness. & of course it's her word over mine. So if I were to attempt to explain the situations happening no one would believe me. She took my door non off my door. I lost of respect for her. She even lied to me on my first day. Tried to make a fool out of me. She neglects me. Not that I even care. I have 3 more months until it's all over. I just wish I had someone to actually hear me out. & listen to me. |
Question: My mom said she is going to kick me out if I don't get better grades. What can I do? Posted: 28 Jun 2019 10:17 PM PDT Please help. I am 13 and really scared. I keep getting B's (sometimes an A and never C's or lower) but my two sisters always get A's and top of class. My mom keeps telling me that she is ashamed that I am the only child who doesn't try but I study as hard as I can but I can never get more than regular B's :( she lost her temper and said that if I don't start taking this seriously she would kick me out of the house and I can pick up cans off the road since I won't amount to anything that requires skill or college degrees. I am so scared I don't know what else to do since I am already trying so hard and I don't want to leave home :( |
Question: How do I get out of this situation? Posted: 28 Jun 2019 09:36 PM PDT My mom is an alcohol addict. She gets wasted too much and I don't want to deal with her and her friends anymore. My dad is the same (theyre divorced) so I can't just go to his house and everything will be better. I feel like I have nothing left. I don't want to live with either parent anymore but I feel like CPS/police wont do anything. My dad is vey abusive, and my mom is out of control in too many ways to write out. I definitely feel like neither home is fit for raising kids, but I dont know how to reach out or who to reach out to. |
Posted: 28 Jun 2019 08:31 PM PDT Okay so my dad has a son at 38 with a different woman. Then when he was 42 got married to my mom when she was 18 and she has me at 19 and my dad was 42. Then they had my four other siblings all by the time my mom was 27 and my dad was 52. I feel bad a lot for my half brother cause my dad pretty much ditched him for my mom when he was only 5. So many days this gets to me is that normal? |
Question: I do not like my sister. Why do my parents make me see her? Posted: 28 Jun 2019 08:26 PM PDT |
Posted: 28 Jun 2019 08:10 PM PDT like she was possessed.I had no pocketmoney and we had no social life.My father does not know how to read and write. |
Posted: 28 Jun 2019 08:06 PM PDT My mother is lying about me. Her friend is always posting my Mom's picture and where they are at the beach. My sisters are both the same. I very seldom ever post it on there and if I do it is only where I am. My mother's face is only exposed if it is a large extended family photo of 25-50 people at Christmas or at the annual family reunion. How do I get her to see this? My Dad to. Their friend is the toxic one, not me. My parents always assume it is me because when I was a minor I was a big gossip like my mother used to be (she is not anymore). Dr. Stephanie ·Trust me, there are. It is family dysfunction in my Mom's family in my grandmother's dying years with an aunt that has turned on everyone starting way back when my grandfather died in 2002. |
Question: Anyone got any tips for this? Posted: 28 Jun 2019 08:02 PM PDT Okay so im a 15 year old boy and have four other siblings and a half brother. My mom is 35 and my dad is 60. My friends always tease about this and make sexual jokes and I hate it. I get they think it's weird and it's kinda funny but it gets to a point that they won't stop and I get really embarrassed any tips ? Thanks |
Question: Can I put my 2 year old in piano lessons? Posted: 28 Jun 2019 07:37 PM PDT Got to start them early. If he doesn't like it, we will let him switch to another instrument. |
Question: Really awkward situation with MIL? Posted: 28 Jun 2019 07:36 PM PDT I do not feel comfortable leaving my son in my MILs care because she isn't attentive at all, doesn't really understand boundaries and tries to mother my son and over rule my decisions when I am there let alone when I am not there! I don't dislike her, her heart is in the right place and she can be lovely but she also has a side that I do not trust and I would just worry the whole time if she had my son. How should I respond when she asks to babysit as I don't want to come across mean and I can't exactly say because I don't trust you! Thank you x |
Question: How can I reconcile with my mother? Posted: 28 Jun 2019 07:19 PM PDT I am in therapy and have of course had suggestions, but I thought I would just throw this out there in case there are any good suggestions. My parents raised me in a cult. It was set up like a commune in a rural area and was very religious. Men had multiple wives, there was a huge focus on sexual morality and gender roles. As girls, we would be subject to monthly vaginal/virginity exams by the elder women and girls who were found to have broke hymens were punished and never permitted to marry, but only be child bearers as sort of concubines to married men. It was really messed up. There were lots of other horrible things that happened, which I won't go into detail, but girls were required to be involved in rituals with men which never involved intercourse, but were still perverse. I ran away with my sister when I was 15 and my father & my sister have also since passed away. I am now 22. I have been in therapy and understand how messed up it all was but I want to try and reach out to my mom and form a relationship and hope that she can leave too. She has rejected all forms of contact other than to tell me that she is ashamed of me and celebrates that I will burn in hell. I have asked her to meet with me to talk about things in a neutral setting but she won't. I know you might wonder why I even want to after everything, but I just want some connection with family. I have no-one and after my childhood I find it difficult to make friends let alone boyfriends. I am lost I don't have bitterness toward my mother. I just want a relationship with her. And I can't accept the suggestion that because I disobeyed her by running away, it was my fault. The children there were all sexually abused. We had to leave |
Posted: 28 Jun 2019 07:14 PM PDT I am a stepmom to my boyfriend's 6 year old daughter. I really would like to get into blogging as a hobby and when I think about the things I'm passionate about, being a stepmom comes to mind. I'm not her mother's best friend or even friend for that matter but we don't argue either. I would obviously protect her privacy and would not share unique details to our situation or anything negative about her. Just a blog about fun ways to bond with your stepchild, raising a blended family, etc. So my question is how would you feel if your child's stepmom blogged about being a stepmom? And that blog could potentially become popular and be used as a source of income in a few years. Thanks! |
Question: My dad won't teach me how to drive? Posted: 28 Jun 2019 07:11 PM PDT I have recently begin to learn driving & have been taking driving courses. However, I wanted to practice driving on my own & I asked my father whether he would be willing to help me in get better on my driving skills. He refused to help me but other parents teach their children & give them advice & tips on their driving techniques. I felt that it was useless to ask him. My mother passed away when we were young & I wish I had her support. We don't have family support from relatives. I feel bad that my friends have parents who give them advice on their driving skills but my father refused to do so. I understand that a typical driving car doesn't have two sets of brake/gas pedals in comparison to a driving school's car where the instructor applies brakes to correct & explain the mistakes but if I know which part is what by 3-4 lessons then why did my father refuse to teach me when there is least traffic? |
Question: Am I a bad mother for leaving my child with my mom to go on dates? Posted: 28 Jun 2019 06:42 PM PDT I am a single mom with a one year old. I just got a new boyfriend who I have been seeing multiple nights a week. I don't bring my baby on the dates because she can get really fussy in public and ruin the whole dating experience. And besides, I like being alone with him. Do I seem like a bad mother? |
Question: How do I get my mom and girlfriend to be friends? Posted: 28 Jun 2019 05:38 PM PDT They meet tomorrow. Moms never met a girl from me. She's the one. Do I set up activities for them to bond over? I'm excited and yes I'm a guy |
Question: Do you think it s fair that my dad makes me a 14 year old girl clean the house by myself? Posted: 28 Jun 2019 05:28 PM PDT My dad and I live alone in a 2 story house. The house is constantly messy and none of the extra chores get done. My dad tells me to clean the whole house by myself and yells at me when I don t. His reasoning for this is because he goes to work but I still don t think it s fair that I have to clean up after him and do extra chores. When I ask him to help me he just gets mad and starts screaming. He doesn t get groceries if I don t clean the house and I have to make all meals everyday. He doesn t pay me and doesn t even say thank you. He gets pissed off when he has to buy the animals food and says that I should be paying for it. |
Question: Should I report this person to child services? Posted: 28 Jun 2019 05:09 PM PDT My mom recently allowed my cousin and her 3 kids to live with us. Age 4, 6 and 12. My cousin came to live with us because she couldn't pay rent in her old house. She began struggling because her husband and her were having problems and he became violent because of drugs so they put him in jail. My cousin doesn't take care of her kids well. The kids constantly talk about how they're hungry and probably only get meals get big meals when my cousin is home. She pretty much goes to work and comes back at 11pm or 5am or leaves all night and comes back in the morning and leaves again. The older kid constantly tells me how my cousin never spends time with them. My cousin has a low temper and when she yells at them she cusses and sometimes lightly hits them. I also don't think my cousin is going to work all the time (works doing uber and selling vape products) because if she was working all the time she is gone she would at least be able to pay for a simple apartment. She puts her kids to sleep at around 1am and they sleep till 11am. She allows them to be on a computer watching videos. My mom mostly takes care of the kids and isn't being paid anything and I heard my cousin is barely paying my mom anything for rent. I'm 15 and I dont really want this effecting my life because my main family of 4 lives in a small house and we are not doing the best in money but we're getting by perfectly. I'm concerned for these kids and their health and in my opinion my cousin isn't being a good parent |
Question: What age is normal for kids to move out? Posted: 28 Jun 2019 05:03 PM PDT My daughter is 23 and still lives with me. I have told her 18 is normal age to move out. When I was young we moved out even younger than that. If I could do it then she can too, but she argues and insists that it's not the same. Obviously it is the same. 18 is the normal age to move out, correct? She does not have her license yet, has not bought a car yet, and is at a community college getting a cosmetology degree. she just got her associates degree yet she claims she cannot find a good job. There are jobs everywhere but her current job only pays about 200$ a month. |
