I work at a privately owned book store for a little over 11 years full time (im 30 now). about 7 years ago i fell head over heels for a girl, but i was deftly afraid of her being freaked out and never being a customer with us again, a close coworker at the time said I should go for it and i did. sadly my worst case scenario came true. I asked her out, but she misunderstood and thought i was interviewing her for a job. She was engaged already, we laughed it off but she never came back. a few years later unrelated the company made an actual rule not to ask out customers.but 4 years ago i became good friends with a customer, we hung out alot, i grew feelings for her and asked her out, but she didn't know how she felt and wanted to wait. (she later discovered she was gay) We remained friends and she continued being a customer. a couple of weeks ago the owner set me down and said he had gotten word that female customers (he didn't say how many, could have been just one)were uncomfortable coming to that store as they were afraid i may ask them out. I'm very nice and enthusiastic about my job (or at least I try to be) and ive been reviewed highly because of it. I didn't think I was flirting but I wasn't sure. I was so taken aback by what the owner told me/ warning, i didn't know what to do. Ive never been very lucky with girls (never even had a GF) what can I do? I messaged a guy in my apartment complex a month and a half later asking to hang out on our roof, and he never responded. I assumed he was asleep or not interested. She gave me a list of requirements before she comes back. I didn't reply. That was yesterday afternoon. We've been through this before to some extent, we fight and don't talk for a few days at a time lately. Before when we had no contact I reached out first, she responded well. I think she is testing to see if I'm still going to respond or talk to her after I told her I was done talking to her if she's not coming back. So suddenly she sent me a text telling her friend that it's ok, she'll be fine, she always is. She's giving up her car because where she's living is walk able, thanks for the offer lady bug, a bunch of other nonsense about nothing, she found the can of soup at the front door that was left, etc. She's sick and going back to sleep (at 8 PM...she never does that). It was three super long texts just minutes apart. I don't see how that's an accident. Respond or no? If yes, what to say? Wrong number? |
