I'm saying my vows alone with my fiancé and then want to have an outdoor party celebration at a venue that the chairs are setup outside by sand and the bay. Will have bonfires in the sand and a steel drum band playing Caribbean music and tons of food. Is is weird not to have a DJ or Band ? But we didn't want all that attention and want it very laid back. Will people get bored ?

I feel like it may be awkward and uncomfortable with everyone there

My fiancee and i got engaged about a month ago and are starting to plan. I always loved the idea of a winter wedding but we live in Michigan and I'd be nervous of a snowstorm complicating things. Summer weddings are convenient but extremely expensive and competitive for venues. We were thinking a late fall (November 2018) wedding because it won't be as expensive as the summer and I can still get some things I wanted for a winter wedding like a sleeved wedding dress and being able to use red as a wedding color, but with less chance of inclement weather. Because we won't be scrambling to throw it together in less than a year we could probably make a wiser decision for reception hall venues in terms of cost. Also, we will definitely get married in a church so we don't need to consider outside weather for the ceremony/reception, just travel. My family typically does summer weddings but I don't like the heat, and because we're not wanting a garden or anything special for the ceremony I don't fee like it makes sense to go on-peak season. I'm one of the first of my family and friends to get married recently so if anyone could give me their insight as a guest or bride that'd be great! When I say cheaper: typically vendors are cheaper off season, because May-August is typical for weddings and they can charge more because there are more weddings. Reception halls can vary but one of the halls we are looking at has discounted rates in November, January, and March.

My mother gave me a ring she had for a little while it does lol like an engagement ring, yesterday bye made me take it off people thought we were engaged. I'm really sad because I feel like he doesn't love me and won't ever marry me. We're both in our 20s and now I don't know what to do.. I feel like I may be wasting my time.
