Question: Help me overcome my Social Anxiety/Awkwardness please!!? Posted: 23 Jul 2017 04:34 PM PDT Im 21 Male and I only like this around people i do not know, duh. 1. If i see someone i know in public should i go out of my way to say something? for example we are in the same store (a closed environment) or should i just wait until we get closer to each other. Clearly I saw the person but I should wait right? 2. What if we made eye contact for like .5 seconds then looked away but we are far away from each other, should that be ignored? it feels so weird when that happens 3. If i see someone i know and i kind of walk past or the person is sitting and i am passing ( say a bench on side walk as example) should I just say hey or also approach with a hand shake/fist pound? 4. If i am at work and i see/walk by my friend/co worker a lot (which happens a lot because of the work i do) do i say whats up like a head nod every time i see them? 5. How do i carry out a convo? While in a convo i alway seem to reply in "oh cool" "yeah" "haha thats so funny" and at the end I m always like "yup ha" and seem uninterested but i truly do not know what else to say I feel like i am so unapproachable but its not that I m snooty or think I m too good to say hi to anyone i just dont know how to go about it. This has just gotten worse over the years which i think is the opposite of what should happen. I am such a funny guy once people actually get to know me and it sucks that i give off an impression the opposite of that |
Question: Why won t anyone talk to me? Posted: 23 Jul 2017 03:52 PM PDT I m 15 I don t have many friends since I switched from public high school to cyber high school but I m still mutuals with some of my old friends on social media. When they post about how upset they are I message them and ask if they re okay or if they wanna talk about it and they never message me back. Then later on they post about how no one is there for them. Besides being ignored, the friends I do have don t really care about me. I ve been stood up and cancelled on countless times. They never invite me anywhere I always set up the plans that they don t attend to anyways. When I was still in public school I had lots of friends so I don t think it s because I m weird or anything. I guess I just don t have a backbone and I don t like to see people upset, but the people I prioritize don t care about me at all. How can I make new friends or get my current friends to like me again? |
Question: I lied to my roommate for my protection. Am I wrong? Posted: 23 Jul 2017 03:33 PM PDT My roommate and I have had a very stormy relationship. We do not get along at all. Last night he had the audacity to text me asking me to remove his drug parraphernalia from his room because he's currently out of the state "Taking a class" and his father is coming on Wednesday night to stay here. One, I addressed that I will not remove his drug paraphernalia from his room. Secondly, I stated that i don't feel comfortable with his father here alone with me. We had an argument via text and he stated he can do whatever he wants to do with his room just because he pays rent. After I kept insisting that i wouldnt feel comfortable he pushed the idea. Today, I texted him and said I will be going in for surgery on Tuesday night and not sure if i'll be home (because i have to allow access for his father) i havent heard back from him. What do you think he's planning? I feel afraid for my life. Your comments are helpful guys! |
Posted: 23 Jul 2017 03:02 PM PDT Me, my sister, my friend from work and my niece were doing a burglar drill... I put a 2 feet thick rubber vest that I made last year out of boredom, on my friend... To protect him... I also put my boxing trading gear on his head.. He kicked in the door... We quickly surrounded him... One shove from my sister almost put him through the wall... One punch from my niece knocked him to the floor confused... And I stabbed the rubber 136 times with a butcher knife. My niece also stabbed the protective helmet clear through.. Just short of getting his head. To wargame out our plans if anybody from yahoo answers burgarizes our house because I gave out my address. |
Question: I want to give my relationship another chance but we're both about to go to college? Posted: 23 Jul 2017 02:43 PM PDT I think we were perfect for each other and we had something really special. but we were both in bad places emotionally while we were dating. he was feeling really depressed for some reason and I was feeling overwhelmed with the end of my senior year. the beginning of our relationship was amazing (we only dated for about four months though) but towards the end it wasn't working. we went to separate high schools and we rarely saw each other, but neither one of us was making an effort. We broke up because he "didn't feel like I liked him enough." but he was also scared I feel like because we were both going to different colleges and his last girlfriend cheated on him when she went to college He said he wanted to cut it off before we got to close and it made it harder I convinced him to give it another shot because I said I was into it, but that was the week of my graduation. I was really distracted and we were both being immature and we didn't speak so we cut it off again. It's been two months and I can't stop thinking about how I may have screwed up the best thing that ever happened to me. He's a really great, one of a kind guy that I'm not gonna find another one of anywhere else. I feel like we're both in better places for a relationship now, and I'm willing to work really hard and try again. Is there any way I can convince him to get back together? Sorry this is long and complicated haha. But thanks in advance for any advice you may have also, he kept telling me that I was going to find another boyfriend in college. I know that's entirely possible. but it's not that I want a random relationship because I'm lonely, desperate, etc. I really just want to be with him. I rarely connect with anyone as well as I connected with him and he has morals that are a lot stronger than most people our age |
Posted: 23 Jul 2017 02:33 PM PDT I have a pet rabbit and we let it run around the house times. Rabbit has pooped in my new shoes like 10 little poop balls. I had a friend over and my rabbit was out before they came over and I put my shoe on and I knew there were poop balls in my shoe but I was too embarrassed to let my friend see so I went walking with the friend and had rabbit poop in my shoe the whole time! I smelled really bad after the walk and my foot was cramped up. Why does rabbit always poop in my shoes?? |
Question: How do i make friends in high school? Posted: 23 Jul 2017 02:26 PM PDT school's going to start soon and i'm tired of making friends then losing them, specifically on the internet. they all live so far away. but i'm not very 'popular', i'm pretty invisible in school and it's extremely difficult for me to socialize. i also live in a very small town, so there aren't very many new students coming in, but if there are they usually become influenced by all the other shitheads in my school. but anyways, i just need advice on how to make friends as a teenage girl. what should i be aware of and how should i act? i don't want to hide who i actually am or anything. fake people annoy the **** out of me.. |
Question: Why does my mom compare us to other people? Posted: 23 Jul 2017 02:20 PM PDT My mom compares me and my brothers a lot. I'm 15 and my brothers are 9 and 12. She keeps telling us about her friends' kids who gets straight A's. When my brother said that he got three and other kids in his class got less, she snapped at him and said, "why do you learn and copy from the BAD things!?". Today she said her friend's daughter volunteers and has more projects than me. Then once she said that her friend's daughter got into the top university in Canada. I'm not even old enough for university yet! Then she said another girl's mom YELLED at her for not getting into the top university so she cried. Then she yelled at her for crying and finally, she got into the top school because the mom pushed her. I said it was bad to wreck her self confidence, because at least she got onto a good college right? Then she said no, and that comparing her to other college students helped her be better. She also tells my 9 year old brother how other kids his age are bigger and stronger than him, so why is he so small and looks more childlike? I don't know why she does it so much, it makes us feel really bad. I've talked to her but she still thinks it improves us. I'm in Canada BTW so schools may differ. |

Question: Did I do the wrong thing? Posted: 23 Jul 2017 01:42 PM PDT I was sick of being bullied all throughout middle school so when I joined high school I decided to do something about it. There was a new boy in town that had autism, he attended special school because his parents knew if he went to public school he'd get bullied incessantly. I came up with a plan, I craftily formed a fake friendship with him & convinced his mom to cancel his schooling, claiming to always be at his side & the kids at our school were nice. As he entered school he inadvertently shifted the target off of my back & plastered it onto himself. His parents cannot afford to get him back to the special school he was in, Thus he is forced to live a miserable high school life, & I am now spared from the abuse. I bragged to my mom about how easily manipulative I was and she called me a "dirty coward" & told me to defend him the next day or I would get grounded & she would get him back to his special school. I didn't do it, but I escaped punishment through pure luck due to the boy telling my mom that I defended him, in hopes that I would be his friend again. However, I did not become friends with him & said it was nothing personal, but if we did I'd get bullied too. Everything ended so peacefully for me, it's been four years since high school, I'm in college, doing well. I googled the autistic boy & discovered he became a loser in life. He is now a criminal & he blames it all on the bullies. I am starting to feel a BIT bad about what I did, not enough to regret it tho |
Question: I don't want to make my friend mad but I can't really invite her either? Posted: 23 Jul 2017 01:42 PM PDT Me and my friend (Jess) used to go to the same summer camp but couldn't go back this year. We both have other friends that still go though and recently Jess went with another of our friends to go visit her friends at camp and didn't invite me. It started something between us, she thought I was mad because I reacted bad when i found out she went without me. We're good now, but now Im going to the camp to visit later this week and I don't want to invite her bc this time I would be going to breakfast with my friends and Jess has different friends than me and it just wouldn't really work. But I don't want her to think I was hypocritical. What do I do? |

Question: My mom always wants to know my friends' parents' numbers? Posted: 23 Jul 2017 11:02 AM PDT Every time I make a new friend or I go and hang out somewhere at someones house, my mom demands contact information even if I just met the person, or they're a mutual friend who I really don't know. I'm 16 years old, I feel like the fact that she also already is tracking my phone everywhere and I tell her everything should be enough. It's embarrassing to ask people for their parents numbers and emails especially if I don't really know them and their parents may or may not be home. I just wanna have fun without the embarrassment, hassle, and in general feeling like a baby... I've expressed these concerns to her and she just doesn't seem to listen or care. I don't want to deal with this anymore. Is this normal? Is she overprotective? What should I do? |
Question: I'm a little worried about something. I just need someone's point of view.? Posted: 23 Jul 2017 10:56 AM PDT I got into an argument with my friend about something and I ended up yelling at his cousin about it. It's not something big or a big deal I feel like even though I brought up the situation to his attention I feel like they've already spoken about it before because him and his cousin are really close and they do hangout alot. I wouldn't put it past him that he told his cousin. I just hope I didn't make the situation worse by bringing it up to him but I do feel he already knew because when I spoke to my friend he had already told me previously that his cousin doesn't even care about it. So what do you think |
Question: I have no friends or relarives that are closed to me.? Posted: 23 Jul 2017 10:39 AM PDT Starting from the day I remembered, I never have a true friend. Throughout my life, people come and go. I ignored girls who show interest, because they can find someone better than me. Outside my mind, I'm a really talkative person, but deeply I'm introverted and t hate people. I hate going to events, where I stand or sit by myself and everyone looks at me, like I have such a miserable life. To this day, I hang out by myself and just touch my phone like I'm texting somebody, so people think I have friends. Yes, I pretend to text people on my phone to look like I have friends. Even now, I'm at an event and sitting in a bench by myself. No one cares about me. What does it feel to have people who likes being around you? |
Question: How can I help my friend ? Posted: 23 Jul 2017 10:35 AM PDT My friend is going crazy we've been without Internet for a month. I'm on LTE on my phone it's super slow I used up all my high speed data. My friend doesn't have a phone he has an iood touch but he can't use it. He said he's been without it for so long that when the Internet does come back he'll probably forget how to use it. It's driving him mad. We don't drive so we can't go anywhere. Unless he's at his aunt or his grandma's house he can't use it. But he can't drive yet. He's going nuts. We have stupid Frontier they changed their minds a dozen times when it'll be on. We're thinking of getting hugsnet. Frontier and intellawave are the only service's we can get out here. My uncle said intellawave sucks they're worse than frontier. He has hugsnet. I don't think the Internet is ever gonna come back. My phones so slow unless I'm on WiFi somwe here I can't even watch YouTube. It sucks out here right now my friend is going mad. How can I help him ? |
Question: Is this normal behavior for high school guys? Posted: 23 Jul 2017 10:22 AM PDT I am the only girl in my AP Calculus class. My classmates are all my friends and are great guys. We have a lot of home work so we sometimes gather at someone's house and do our homework together. This time it was my house. After we completed the homework, my mom served all the guys fresh homemade apple pie and ice cream. They loved it. We usually rotate whose house we go to for doing the homework. However the guys ask me if we could go to my house again for the homework. That is OK with me. I just thought they liked the pie and ice cream my mom made for them. Then one of the guys told me the real reason they wanted to come to my house. When mom served them pie and ice cream she wore her Daisy Dukes. Are all high school guys like this that they are horny for someone twice their age? |
Question: My daughter won't listen to me about him now what? Posted: 23 Jul 2017 10:13 AM PDT My daughter is 22 she has been seeing a 31 year old male at her job in a warehouse for five months he is always coming over here and stopping by to see her and he takes her out about once a week every week for the past few months and I want to know what he sees in my daughter to want to take her out. My daughter is 22 and she still lives at home and my daughter doesn't have much guy experience either. She works but that's about it. This guy from her job that takes her out has bought her a gift from bath and body works and he takes her out to eat and buys her food but, honestly I think he's using her my daughter even though she looks happy when she goes out with him and she talks about him a lot but I'm not sure. I'm weary because 9 times out of 10 when the age gap is this big I'm pretty sure he's after one thing and I wanna protect my daughter. I try to tell my daughter that she is being gullible and that he doesn't want her like she wants him. my daughter is desperate and putting herself on him. I rather her date someone who is at the most five years older. I don't think his intentions are genuine and I'm pretty sure he can't find someone his age that's why he wants my daughter. I don't mind her dating but not a guy this older. I think she is either being used or potentially going to get her feelings really her with this guy. She is emotionally immature and isn't ready for him. He is way far along in life than she is and I told my daughter to not lose her virginity to Him |

Question: Is it wrong to be friends with my friend's sister? Posted: 23 Jul 2017 08:47 AM PDT I have a friend from school who I'll call Molly. Over the years when we'd get together she'd invite her sister. I'll call her Sarah. When Molly met her now husband I would see her infrequently. Sarah is single and doesn't have many friends, and the same goes for me. Now and then we get together, just the two of us, when Molly is away on vacation or simply has other plans. Molly is angry that we're friends. She says Sarah should find her own friends and not take her's. Is she being unreasonable? Is it wrong to hang out with her sister if I know it upsets her? |
Question: Should i just cut my 'best friend' out of my life and move on? Posted: 23 Jul 2017 08:24 AM PDT I dont have many friends, I dont even know if I have any close friends anymore. My best friend and I have been best friends for several years but I feel she wants nothing to do with me anymore. It's always me that makes any effort to talk, or make lans (which she flakes out on every single time). She acts like I'm a stranger now. And I'm going through a really bad time in my life and all I need is for her to be there for me, but I guess thats too hard (even though Id dro everything in a heartbeat to be there for her). Why is it I care about everyone so much but noone cares about me? What am I doing wrong? |
Question: I feel so betrayed by her????? Posted: 23 Jul 2017 08:11 AM PDT I'm a 22 year old guy names Carlos and I had a bestfriend Adriana. We were friends for 5 years, and she cared so much about me, but 2 months ago she told me a secret about her past and I accidentally said something wrong, and she told me she didn't want to be friends anymore. She stopped talking to me but I kept trying to contact her through other people because I felt bad, and eventually the police got involved for harrasment. But what gets me extremely mad, is last year this guy used to stalk her and she even told me it was scared, but she never went to the police. But she went to the police for me who was her bestfriend !!!! After all the great moments we shared. I feel so betrayed any advice please !!!!!! |

Question: Trip away and other friend inviting other person? Posted: 23 Jul 2017 07:08 AM PDT So anyway I am planing on going on a trip later on in the year. Going to get a tattoo so I asked my friend would he like to go he said yes. And then proceeded to tell me that he wanted his Fiancé to come with us. So it would be me and the two of them. To put background to this she does not like me and believes I m "out to get her" and that I want to make moves on her man. (I m a lesbian so no). I don t want to be stuck with her on this trip. I made an invitation to the two of them to come to a different event that I could slip off if she annoyed me. So the place I m going I used to live there but never got back up to and I miss it. And I thought it was a nice chance for us to spend time together. I see him once every few months and he sees her everyday. Am I being out of line or is he? |

I noticed my friends wife was using the entree fork to eat her salad, so I told her she was using the wrong fork. She looked at me wierd and then a few minutes later went to the restroom, she came back and it looked like she had been crying. She whispered something to my friend and then they left. I later found out she was upset about my comment. I don't feel like I didn't thing wrong , but my friend wants me to apologize. |
Question: Everyone hates me. Now what? Posted: 23 Jul 2017 04:30 AM PDT This is a long story but i will try to keep it shorter. I was best friends with this girl for a long time and whenever I was with her we were always getting into stuff. Towards the end of our friendship I noticed she was being very manipulative and she lied a lot. She lied to her other friends and her family and I am sure she lied to me too. We would get into trouble and other things all the time. Then one day I moved and it was harder to keep being friends. But she was my best friend so I would always go visit but it was expensive so I could not do it all the time. I begged her to come instead and she did one time but after that she never talked to me again. Then I texted her and told her how i felt and she basically said we should call it quits. She took me off all her social medias and everything and I did not get why. Some time later I noticed she was hanging out with a lot of people she was mean to and said horrible things about. Some pf our mutual friends said she had been much happier without me and does not even bring me up. I was really upset so I took to twitter about it and told all those people what she said about them and they all attacked me and said I was being a lonely loser because she didn't want to be my friend anymore. Amongst other really mean things.... A lot of them took me off social media and now I feel like i have no one. |

Question: Should i ignore my friend after what he did? Posted: 23 Jul 2017 02:23 AM PDT It was my 40th birthday party and i just overcame a serious life threatening disease. One of my closest friends has a drug and alcohol addiction which is much worse than i though since they missed my birthday party completely because they were too high. They knew what this party meant to me, but chose the drugs. I know this person is going to be messaging me tomorrow and the days to follow to see if i will go out with them but Im not sure i want to respond. I don't know another way to respond right now because i am too hurt. |
Question: Should I contact her on facebook for the first time? Posted: 23 Jul 2017 02:20 AM PDT a month ago i met up with 2 friends and we went to a local music festival. afterwards we met up with their other friends. it was about 10 other people. it was right outside of the festival, with some wooden benches right along the river. at one point me and a friend freestyled to some beats playing on our speakers. i see this gorgeous girl. she's a friend of my friends. she's in a circle with other people ten feet away. she would look over and give me long glances a few times during this night when i would rap. one time she came over to our circle and was near me when i rapped again. i only talked to her a little bit. but it wasnt 1 on 1. i was chatting with her, and 2 other people. i didnt get a number or anything. i asked my friend about the girl. he said that his sister's best friend. i asked if she's single and he said she has a boyfriend but he's in canada at the moment. i didnt ask any further... i looked her up and found her on facebook the next day, befriended her. in 2 weeks i have a performance at a local festival. ive been thinking about her heavily since yesterday. but we only met that one time and idk if she still remembers me. i want to message her on facebook and ask if she wants to come watch me perform. i know if she says yes, then i got her. i dont have anything to lose if she ignores me.... how can i be smooth in approaching this situation? i dont want to come off as if im hitting on her or else i might not get a response |
Question: Was this a polite touch or a genuine affectionate touch? Posted: 23 Jul 2017 01:48 AM PDT If someone touches the side of your face and holds it there for a few seconds, is that a polite touch or a genuine affectionate one? This wasn't a romantic moment. I was just telling this person that I was happy to have them in my life and they looked emotionally touched and touched the side of my face. |

After that she walked in front of me when I was waiting for a ride when she could've avoided me. Does she not get the hint? Then she was staring at me. She had boy cut short hair. |
Question: Is my friend right or am i in the right to be upset? Is this my fault? Posted: 23 Jul 2017 01:03 AM PDT I recently spent about $1200 on concert tickets to a popular music group. I got box seats and they were great (6 tickets total). This was for an important event, my 40th birthday (plus i am celebrating my healing from a serious disease). So, my point is this concert meant a lot to me. Of the 5 friends that attended, 2 of them got high on drugs and didn't feel like sitting still during the concert because it was "boring" to them. They didn't say it was boring, but I know how they are. So, these few friends actually left the concert halfway through without even saying goodbye or anything. When they agreed to go to the concert, I honestly didn't think they would act this way. We are all adults btw in our mid-30's. Of the friends that stayed to watch the concert, they told me it was my fault for inviting them in the first place since I should have known better....but here is the thing.... The friend that said I should have known better was named Don. I ASKED Don BEFORE I even invited these other friends who would be the best people in our group to actually invite. Don said it would be a good idea to invite them (since these friends are our mutual friends). Since I know Don better than I know these other friends, I trusted him. I paid for the tickets...not Don. BUT I did trust his judgement. So, I suppose I am upset with Don for blaming me for inviting them and these other friends for just upright leaving halfway though the concert without even saying goodbye. |
Posted: 23 Jul 2017 12:23 AM PDT I have several friends that are a little younger (in their mid-30's) with what I believe to be a serious drug and alcohol addiction issue. Long story short, I had a very important 40th birthday today and invited these very close friends. They are working professionals, and they are some of my closest friends (or rather, were some of my closest friends before the drug addiction issues took over their lives). Even with fb invites, verbal reminders, text reminders, and others reminding them....they still missed my party today and they knew how important this party was for me since i not only turned 40....but have also overcome a serious life threatening disease that almost took my life this year. I am now getting better, but my point is, they knew how important this party was to me. The friends that attended the party were quite shocked that these other friends did not make it because they were too high and drugged out to attend. I would lie if i said i was disappointed; however, I am more saddened by their lifestyle and how it has taken over. I want to approach them about this but i want to know the best way to act since i am still pretty hurt inside but I also want them to know how their addiction has taken over and is impacting our friendship. |
Question: What should I do about a friend that wants me to pay for something after the fact? Posted: 22 Jul 2017 11:37 PM PDT So I have a friend that got tickets to the baseball game.. He gave me the ticket... He said to pay him if I can....but that it wasn't a big deal. Now I find out today that he is upset that I haven't paid him for the ticket.. He offered to take me and said that I could pay if I wanted basically.. I don't really want to pay, but I will if he is going to act butthurt.. What would you do? Now I know why he has been stand offish lately.. But people are weird. If you want someone to PAY SAY IT.. Don't say "well if you want to " "if you can " |

Question: Im not a normal teenager is that normal? Posted: 22 Jul 2017 10:57 PM PDT I look on my social media and see all my friends doing drugs and partying and stuff. I usually don't get invited, and when I do I decline. Is that normal? I decline because I'm scared something might happen to me and I don't wanna betray my parents by drinking behind their backs. But I also feel like an outcast for not doing these things while almost everyone else does. People don't invite me to parties anymore because Im a "good girl". Anyone on the same boat? |

Question: How can I find a Nazi to be friends with? Posted: 22 Jul 2017 10:18 PM PDT Hello, I am a very big fan of free speech. I do not agree with Nazis, but I'd love to meet some that I could be friends with. I feel like they could be really funny guys, and they're probably not super sensitive assholes. |
Question: I feel like i am losing my best friend and i don't know what to do? Posted: 22 Jul 2017 10:08 PM PDT okay so my friend and i have been friends since pre school. we did everything together. we are both sophomores in high school now and still friends. but it doesn't feel the same anymore. over the years she's left me out when we hang out in groups and she has brought me on dates to the movies to third wheel multiple times and has done some mean things to me but we are still friends. i have done some things too but we aren't all perfect. but i started noticing once we got into high school, she got a boyfriend and she doesn't make the effort to hang out with me anymore. she didn't come to my birthday party because she was sick but the next day she went to the beach with her boyfriend. i always have to be the one to arrange to see her. and a lot of the times she always says she can't but usually doesn't tells me why or sometimes it sounds like an excuse.. but when i do get to hang out with her (we mainly hang out at her house), we aren't doing anything but laying around and watching tv. then she sleeps and i'm all by myself (she's done this over the years as well). like we hang out and talk for a few hours which is nice but it just doesn't feel the same. i've talked to her a while ago about how i feel like she's shut me out because of her boyfriend and we worked it out but it still doesn't feel like things have gotten better since then. her parents love me and they treat me like their second daughter but i don't think they know that i feel this way. we have a streak on snapchat. |
Question: How to stop being antisocial?? Posted: 22 Jul 2017 10:06 PM PDT Hi, so I've been pretty sure my whole life. But in the end, I always managed to make a friend or two in my classes..so I'm 7th grade year, I literally had one friend in my class, but she was always hanging around the popular kids in my class so I almost never got the chance to hang around her except in one period. In my class, I was known as being quiet and shy, which was something I hated but I never did anything about it at all.. In the beginning of the year, I did try to make some friends but it was hard for me to keep asking if I could join someone's group for a project so I just gave up.. Why bother. You know? I always hated when I had no one to talk to in class or no one to partner up with so I gained depression that year and every day that year I was reminded that I had no friends and that I wasn't good enough so I lost my confidence and became awkward. So now I have to ask how do I stop being antisocial? I'm not comfortable in social settings if my friends aren't there. I will NOT go anywhere at school if my friend doesn't come. I stay quiet for some reason and I know I can say something but for some reason I hold my tongue and don't say it. I feel like I'm being judged and I hate it. I wish it wasn't like this |
Question: Spiritually speaking why do feminists almost always suck with women? Posted: 22 Jul 2017 10:01 PM PDT Every feminist I know is either divorced or can't get a girlfriend. Does it have something to do with their own self contentedness that they project onto women by idolizing them. |
