Question: Should my sisters kid be spanked/disciplined? Posted: 28 Jul 2017 01:58 PM PDT My sisters kid is quite rude. He's turning 4 soon. He walked by me to throw trash away and smacked my shoulder with the paper bag. Then he was speaking to his grandma (my sisters mother in law), and he was like "I'm gonna tell on you grandma!" when she hadn't even done anything wrong. Then I was like "kids don't tell on adults. Adults watch children, not the other way around", and this boy actually was like "I was talking to grandma not you" in a rude tone. Am I wrong here or does this kid seriously need a good spank on the a*ss more often? |
Question: Should I allow my mother to visit me once a week at college? Posted: 28 Jul 2017 01:42 PM PDT She claims I don' t know how to properly clean a bathroom... she's just very emotionally draining to be around... i don't really have any problems with her, just prefer to keep my distance. I'd prefer once a month, but i think the bathroom cleaning is an excuse to see me, her negativity is so contagious, it's difficult to think clearly around her. |
Question: Should my brother be saying this about me? Posted: 28 Jul 2017 12:51 PM PDT I overheard my brother talking to his buddies. He said "I am the most unlucky guy in the world". "The most beautiful girl I have ever seen in my life is someone I can not date, my sister". I think "I should check our birth certificates so see if either of us is adopted". Is that a compliment or something not appropriate to say about your sister? |
Question: I really want to meet my dad :(? Posted: 28 Jul 2017 12:27 PM PDT I'm 14 btw. Ever since I was little, I've only ever lived with my mom and that's it. She's told me a few things about my dad (name, that he had 5 other kids before me etc) but I've never met him. I felt like there might have been a reason that my mom doesn't want me to meet him so I looked around. I found some photos of him and a letter that he wrote (idk if my mom knows I found it) but yeah that just made me want to meet him even more. I have found someone who I think may be him but there is not really anyway of knowing. Until now I knew someone else who was in the same boat but then she met her dad and now they go out all the time which makes me sad :( If you suggest talking to my mom then plz explain what to say. Thx in advance. |
Question: Am I a horrible human being? Posted: 28 Jul 2017 11:48 AM PDT Okay so let me get you guys caught up. So my cousin and also aunt is coming to live with me while my parents help her get back on her feat. My dad is paying for her tuition in college even though he doesn't have to and she did not study at all. She was not taking it seriously my dad has health issues and takes stress to a whole other level. It worries everyone m. He cries himself to sleep hoping for a better future for this girl. She didn't even seem to take it that seriously. She's like in her mid twenties and basically does nothing. I mean I guess I care about her but in the last days I have felt this weird hate toward her. I don't even want to be in the same room as her even though she's nice I just hate being around her. It might be because it takes a lot for me to really love someone I don't know I'm not that open heart. I'm way to careful about who I love. I don't understand it. Please help me somehow. |
Question: Why would my grandpa not leave me anything to remember him by?..? Posted: 28 Jul 2017 11:47 AM PDT My grandpa past away last in June 2016. He was my fathers dad, and my favorite grandparent. When id come over we would go and feeding the livestock, fix any damaged fences, and whatever else needed to be done. Doing things with him made me extremely happy. The main reason was because, other than him and my grandma (Who is still alive but getting worse.), no one else on my dads side really talked to me, and when they do, It would just be questions about the news or some kind of trivia. Then if you asked them something, they would answer condescendingly. Now my grandpa left a will. My dad, aunt and uncle were the only ones who went to the reading. Honestly, i just wanted to maybe get his watch or a fishing pole. Just something as a keepsake. My dad never talked about about what was in it except the dividing up of land between the 3 of them. This didnt bother me, until 6 months later, My dad says that my younger cousin was getting there house for 300 a month(it's worth 1400 a month easy), And My youngest cousin got there vehicle, and My sister received a 40 carat diamond and Gold necklace that belong to be grandpas mother. I really don't have a problem with any of this, but its been a year now, and i honestly seem to be the only grandchild who wasn't left anything to remember him by. Hell, it could have just been his favorite fork for all i care. Do you think he just didn't like me as much as i thought? All of this has just left me severely depressed, Thanks for any insight. I just wanted to make it clear that there are only 4 grandchildren. My sister, me, and our 2 cousins (my cousins are also brother and sister.). I am not the youngest. I am 23, My sister is 25, my first cousin is 22, and my 2nd cousin is 18. Out of the four of us, i was the only one who didn't receive anything. To spend so much time with someone you admired and loved, who suddenly passed away one night is hard to deal with. Then to find out you were the only one not in the will? It really hurts.. |
Question: Would you hate your Mother also, if She did this to you? Posted: 28 Jul 2017 10:37 AM PDT To make a long story short I have been stuck living with my Parents after having a stroke at the age of 28. Since I ve been home, my Mom uses my inability to physically get away from Her against me. She will threaten not to drive me somewhere if I m rude to Her. Even worse, She s using my current inabilities to prevent me from having a dating life, which even includes flirting with guys online sometimes! She gets super angry at the thought that I was promiscuous before the stroke and basically berates me for it. I should mention, She s religious and in an unaffectionate marriage. However, it s like She s forcing me to be like Her! Which is non-sexual, church going, and satisfied with living in a small dead-end town. Due to the built up resentment of dealing with this for YEARS now, I have had urges to violently hurt Her. It doesn t help that She s fat, lazy, and kind of ugly to me either. |
Posted: 28 Jul 2017 09:31 AM PDT I fear this every hour and it has only happened once or twice in the last 20 years. I am not referring to parents or siblings but extended family. Parents and siblings will come around and forgive. |

Question: How to deal with parents divorce even when you want it to happen? Posted: 28 Jul 2017 07:42 AM PDT I am 14 years old, I'm the youngest of 5 kids, there all over 18 and pretty independent. my mother has been a binge drinker / alcoholic for about 8 years, she is a narcissist and even before she started drinking I have very bad memories of her yelling and screaming at us kids for no reason. She has been in and out of rehabs, detox, hospitals, mental hospitals and nothing has worked. She has emotionally abused me by saying many things no one should ever say to there children, when I hadn't done anything wrong. The emotional abuse usually happens when I refuse to give her keys to go driving when she's drunk, saying things like "I wish I had an abortion with you," or "your a b**h that ruined my life," etc. My dad who is very kind and supportive caught her cheating on him last week and since he found out she has been drunk then hungover and now to ashamed to come out of her bedroom. She doesn't know that he has already printed off separation papers and switched bank accounts so she can't acces there money (my mom doesn't work at all so all the money that we make has come from my dad, he pays all the bills and everything) so he is gonna talk to her about it and they are gonna sign it then Basically she will have to go. I'm just wondering ways I can deal with this because even though I'm glad it's happening I don't know what I'm gonna think and I don't really know what I feel, and I can't talk to my dad right now because he is very stressed out. Thanks you! :) |

Question: Has my wife lost her mind, yet again? Posted: 28 Jul 2017 06:41 AM PDT My wife's youngest son still lives with us since he graduated from college with his associates degree in graphic design. He's not had one interview in about a year in that field. He was working two job to make money. Jimmy John's and he was vlaet parking cars at a local hotel. Well, I found out recently that he quit the Jimmy John's job so now he only has the valet job. I informed my wife yesterday that Amazon was going to be hiring some 40 - 50,000 full and part time employees and for him to apply. She said that she didn't want him to jeopardize his valet job by working for Amazon which could possibly be a seasonal position. I told her that if he works hard enough he could land a full time permanent position but given that this isn't a seasonal position he needs to apply. She doesn't want him to apply. I told her it's not like this was Joe Blow's Package Center down the street with a "Help Wanted" sign out front. It's AMAZON. Has she lost her mind? I really think she wants to keep her kids dependent on her for their support. What do you think? He's probably only making $8 or $9 an hour plus what ever tips he's getting parking cars compared to possibly making $12 or $13 an hour with Amazon. |
Question: My muslim parents are extremely strict? Posted: 28 Jul 2017 06:08 AM PDT im a 17 year old girl, and ive always had a bad relationship with my parents. when i was a kid they would hit me when i do something wrong. (and they still actually do) theyre extremely strict. they dont let me go out with my friends or even go to their house. they dont give me an allowance and they dont allow me to have a job. i literally had the worst childhood when i was younger. i remember i was always so sad because i didnt fit in with all of the kids that had normal parents. my parents are my ENEMIES. im always being yelled at. my mom always cusses at me. and right now im just waiting til im in college so i can get away from them. BUT THERES A PROBLEM. im not even sure if theyre going to allow me to study far away from them. this stresses me out so much. i love being a muslim but i just cannot stand these old fashioned muslim minds. its just so stupid. i have ran away from home once. they called the cops and eventually found me and brought me home. and instead of trying to fix things and accept the fact that THEYRE WRONG AND THEYRE RUINING MY LIFE, they decided to be 10 times more strict then they were before. i cannot stand this. i dont know what to do. im such a good kid i dont know what i did to deserve this. all i want is a normal life. literally every tiny thing i do is behind my parents back. i can NEVER be honest with them. because they are so damn close minded. and the fact that i wont be done with them until i get married, makes me wanna kill myself. all my other muslim friends have normal parents. islam is not the problem. my parents are the problem. its more cultural than religious i guess. but they also think theyre being good muslims by being so strict but thats not true!! if everyone were to follow islam 100% CORRECTLY, it would not be like this. (so strict and close minded) |
Question: Can my Aunt make me remove a pic of my grandmother? Posted: 28 Jul 2017 06:08 AM PDT I got some pics of my grandmother from one of my Aunts. I scanned and posted the pics on a family tree web site. Now one of my other Aunts told me to take them down. Does she have the right to do so? |
Question: My mother makes me cry, how can i get through this ? Posted: 28 Jul 2017 04:43 AM PDT My mother is a very negative person who complains, and yells often but i always respect her enough to let her be without conviction. I sit and listen to her whenever she has something to say. on days when i feel like my life has some sort of meaning, i can always count on my mother to make life seem meaningless. sometimes, i will quietly walk into my room, lay in bed staring at the ceiling feeling the tears fall down my cheeks . i m not sure what to say, i just lay there quietly and let myself cry in the silence of my bedroom. i know my mother will never change . if i tell her how much she hurts my feelings, she will walk away and ignore me. i ve attempted suicide a couple times. i am on medication now, and i go to therapy regularly and try to take responsibility for my mental health. i want a happy relationship with my mother i just don t know what to do anymore at this point. i feel like i ve tried everything . |

Question: My son is destroying his life and I need help with acceptance? Posted: 28 Jul 2017 03:29 AM PDT My son met a girl online. She has no money, no car, no insurance, no future, no bank account, bad health, and nothing to lose. She is moving here to our town in a little over a week. He's in his last year of college. Now he's throwing that away along with his health insurance, and other benefits, so he can work full time to support her. He has to get a place & all utilities in his name because she has bad credit & a judgment against her from a previous lease. No one will lease to her now. She knows my husband & I are Chtistians so she posts things mocking our faith on her Facebook account. She says we are judging her and we are wrong to do so. That's our son, who we planned since he was born to send to college. He picked out his own major and made all these plans until she came along. Now he thinks throwing it all away on her is a great idea! We tried to speak to her about just waiting until he graduates to move here but she refuses. I told both of them he'd be in a much better situation financially if he had his degree. She has to leave where she's at now because the lease is up with her roommate, she says. I think she's being kicked out! I know he's an adult and I can't stop him from destroying his own future for a stranger, but I really need help, with acceptance! I just cry all the time. She's a hateful person and he can't see it. He just makes excuses for her. How do I ever accept letting someone take complete advantage of my son? |
Question: Why do people make incest jokes at the expense of me and my sister? Posted: 28 Jul 2017 02:01 AM PDT Me and my younger sister, who suffers from life-long autism, live together - along with our parents. I started dating in my early 20s, whereas my sister - who is now 27 - has never had a boyfriend or lose her virginity. My sister finds dating/relationships/ marriage not worth bothering about and she's quite happy being in her bedroom on the internet, watching TV shows and playing video games. Some people have made fun of her for being this way and had suggested that me and my sister have sex - now, that would be incest! It's wrong to make fun of a disabled girl like this - and also drag me into it as well, as I'm currently not married or in a solid relationship. I respect my sister's wishes without a second thought. I don't know if I'll ever marry myself (the thought is nice though) so my future is left out in the open as well. It's not fair or right to make fun of two single sisters like that and suggest they engage in incest simply because they can't "keep a man". |
Question: I want to get a lip piercing, but I don't know how to ask(please, read description)? Posted: 28 Jul 2017 01:08 AM PDT Okay, back when I was 13, I asked my mom if I could get a lip ring. She said yes, on my 15th birthday. She died from heart failure that same year. Here I am, 15, turning 16 in a couple weeks. I want to ask my Dad to get a lip ring, as I still really want one, however, I'm anxious to ask. I know, I know, the worst thing he could possibly say is no, however, I don't know how to go about asking him. Before I get any hate: I was so much closer to my mom back then, so that's why I would've asked her, and not my father. I'm not some angsty teen, or anything. I just really want a lip piercing. Also, I have no problem listening to my dad, or grades, doing my chores ect, ect. I just don't talk much with my dad. And quite frankly, my dad's a little judgemental sometimes, so maybe that's what making my hesitant. I sure hope someone can help me... Thank you |
Question: I have no motivation left in me what should i do? Posted: 28 Jul 2017 01:05 AM PDT ive had a very rough 2 years with my sister being on meth and honestly thats exactly where i see myself in the next 2 years. i skip school alot and i plan to drop out. i dont listen to my parents and it makes me so mad when they take my phone and car keys away yet my sister hasnt seen them in 3 months and they still continue to pay for her car and phone and she has both of them with her. it sucks knowing in a year or 2 i ll be living with a new druggie friend every week, wont have money, and i wont have a job. what can i do to push myself? |
Question: Was my mum out-of-line by threatening to read all my emails? Posted: 28 Jul 2017 12:42 AM PDT I remember when I was about 12 years old, there was only one computer in the entire household and it shared among four people - me, both my parents and my sister. We each had our own email account. I used to email friends and have conversations with them. Sometimes it would go a little naughty if I talked about a hot guy I liked. Hey, I was growing up. Certainly not pornographic material - just giggly chats about hot guys. One day, my mum got mad at me because I was hanging out with a girl she didn't like. She gave me an angry lecture then said: "I've read your emails, Sharee. ALL OF THEM" I was upset and angry. Being just 12 years old, I lacked the courage and knowledge to stand up for myself and just kept silent. But yeah, I don't know if my mum actually dared to read into my emails - and some of them were a bit sexual. I don't know if she just said that to scare me. But that was really out of line. NO ONE wants their private stuff looked into, even children don't want that. CZ: we shared one mailbox and each had our own account. No password was required, but there was a shared rule that we simply don't look into each other's account. |
Question: Im fed up with my emotionally and in a way physically abusive parents? Posted: 27 Jul 2017 11:09 PM PDT My dad doesn't listen to anything we say and avoids as much dialouge or seeing us at all in his house and its a small house. He keeps rules of not being able to feel emotion when we talk to him or he threatens to break our faces, quoted ×1000 times in the last year. I am desperate to lave my house, I havent gone outside or talked to my dad in the past 3 days, he doesnt take us to the dentist, doctor or anything, we have no routines out of our house, in fact if we dissapeared or ran away he wouldnt notice until probably a couple of days later. He doesnt know me personally, knows nothing about me and doesnt support my future emotionally, he only obligates me to do things like play basketball when I was younger and move to private school where he would make sure I wouldnt be able to get out of school and have more of a life outsode of it. Im super frustrated and I cry myself to sleep every so often. To convince us of moving in with him 6 years ago he bought us a xbox 360 and that pretty much been the last thing hes bought us and he has the money. He is am aggresive, controlling, bipolar, army veteran but keeps his side of the house completely different. And im fed up with it, I want to run away so bad, but I cant leave behind my little brother. I have been packing this us for the past 5 years and I cant anymore |
Question: How do I cut ties with my entire family? Posted: 27 Jul 2017 09:57 PM PDT I really want to but it's not that they're unpleasant or anything I just want to be totally isolated and eventually kill myself |
Question: Who's side would you be on? Mothers or son? Posted: 27 Jul 2017 09:40 PM PDT My boyfriend has to pay rent for living in his own house. The reason this time is because supposedly he left blood all over the walls, sink, and floor because he had a bloody nose in the middle of the night. He said that he didn't leave blood anywhere and that he cleaned up after himself. My guess was that he left maybe a dot that a blood somewhere on accident that pissed his mom off. The next day we were heading on vacation and she texted him right when we got to our destination, she texted him to come and clean his mess up but he was driving so he wasn't on his phone and didn't see the message. So now he has to pay rent and do chores around the house and buy his llunch for work. He is 20 years old, has a full-time job, helps his dad in the summer with his business, Does chores around the house when Asked, and runs all over town to get his parents things with his gas money. He bought a new truck in high school because his parents pressured him to get a nice vehicle for work and he fell for it now paying bills out of his ***. He now says he wished he was using his money to move out after high school instead of putting it all to a truck. He barely has a savings account:( So now that he has to pay rent and buy his own food,he won't have money to put away. The thing that makes me mad is that they expect him to pay rent but then makes him use his gas money to run all over for them after work. They are so two faced I feel and just using him for extra money. Yes or no? |

Posted: 27 Jul 2017 08:48 PM PDT I really just want to know how I can change my sisters life. She is involved with all kinds of terrible think things as we we raised seprately she was raised with my piece of crap biological dad. She 17 and we have just go in touch over the last year and have gotten a lot closer. She lives out of state with my biological father. And I was raised with Mom and step father. She involved with gangs, drugs, and sex all at a young age. And it s breaking my heart seeing her throw he life down the drain. As I said she lives out of state and she is visiting until Saturday. How can I change her life? Wat do I do? I honestly feel so so bad for her and she can do so much better. She was a good person growing up and now she s just heart breaking. This situation has ruined my past couple days thinking about her. And it s mainly all the people she associates with her friends. What can I do to help her? Can I don anything at all but pray to god she will get better on her own? No... it honestly scares me and breaks my heart. Please somebody tell me what I can do. |
Question: Why are so many kids getting more sexual as the years go by? Posted: 27 Jul 2017 08:39 PM PDT I know the simple answer is: the media. However, things were less worse back in 2013 or 2014 and the media was pretty bad back then too. I notice that children show INCREASINGLY worse behaviors as the years go by. When I did anti-bullying presentations, a private school called me in to talk to their 3rd graders about harassment. It turned out that they've been bullying each other by using explicit language on the playground. 10 year olds who are permitted to watch 18+ shows, 12 year olds who get into drugs/alcohol, and 15-16 year olds sending nudes....what else? I'm wondering what causes children and teens to act more like this as every year passes by. |

Question: Dont know how to tell my parents im moving out soon? Posted: 27 Jul 2017 08:29 PM PDT im 21 and my parents have sort of an idea that i want to buy a plane ticket and move out since they freaked out and read my texts but they dont know when because i was talking to my bf about moving in with him ( we have been thinking about it since 2015) and we both want to finish school together and get better jobs etc. but they dont agree with me moving out and think im going to ruin my life if i do that and they think we wont be able to do it, they dont trust me which hurts. im deciding to buy a ticket for october i just dont know how to break the news to them since they dont agree and thing im doing the wrong thing. im going to be paying for my own college and here in hawaii its very expensive and i want to do it on my own. im going to of course be an adult about it when i do tell them its just im afraid that when i open my mouth theyre going to just start telling me im crazy and im doing the wrong thing and what if something happens and their not there, i think theyre just scared but i really just want them to support my decision and believe in me. |
Posted: 27 Jul 2017 08:01 PM PDT So my dad who I know has cheated in the past on my mom and step mom has been bringing this lady around me and my fiancé who is very attractive, looks similar to my step mom but he claims she is his business partner. The only problem is when I first met her tell me why they were staying in a hotel room with one bed? Then they stayed at our place and I made one bed for them kind of assuming they were together as I had before. I recently called my dad out on it telling him that it made me uncomfortable knowing that my step mom was at home while he was out having this lady stay at our place, (they couldn t get a hotel for some reason) and how I thought it was inappropriate to have her come over when I knew we were going to see my step mom again. My dad totally denied seeing her though and said that they were just very close friends and business partners. He definitely sounded offended by what I said although I followed it with "you can s ee why I might have thought that?" At the end of the convo I apologized for assuming too much but what do you think? Was I right or wrong? |
Question: Does my dad like me? Posted: 27 Jul 2017 07:43 PM PDT My dad has always been strict to me. He never says I love you even if I tell him. We re Mexican so its common I guess but all my family is close. My mom is a at home babysitter and we take care of a girl who s 6. Maybe my dad wished I was younger or something but she kissed him one day in the cheek. Don t worry it isn t weird we ve been takin care of their whole family since they were all born. The girls mom and my mom are best friends. Anyways she kissed him on the cheek to say hello and when she went outside to play my dad says to my mom and my little brother (we were all in the kitchen) that she s the daughter he s always wanted and he looks at me . And i don t know if he was joking but he looked serious. and I was hurt I felt like something stabbed me right through my chest. And then I got angry and I said well I wish I had a dad who was nicer and actually payed attention to me and not only when I m about to die because I ve tried killing myself 4 times . Btw I m 15 so I need advice I don t think my dad likes me at all and it really hurts and just makes me want to die |
Question: Why do i hate my dad so much? Posted: 27 Jul 2017 07:21 PM PDT Everything about him annoys me. He's never mean or anything, but for some reason i hate everything about him. The way he talks to me and how he is as a person annoys the hell out of me. I feel like a **** and i cant help the way i feel. I hate myself for it because he is my dad, but we are so different. What can i do? I'm from scandinavia, that's why my grammar is bad |

Question: My dad hit ME and them called the cops on me saying I!!! had a mental issue? Posted: 27 Jul 2017 07:11 PM PDT I could go on and on about every incident with my dad but this one in specific (the worst one by far) was tonight. My dad had made dinner and told me it was ready I had already eaten just a little while earlier and wasn't hungry, that tore it he physically grabbed me picked me up carried me to the dinner table screaming and spitting in my ear the whole time. I started crying and he told me I was a cryababy. And that was when I had had enough, I couldn't deal with this anymore. I said calmly "no father I need to study" and got up to leave he screamed at me and LITERALLY SAT ONTOP OF ME I tried to get him of of me and evry move I made just meant he hit or grabbed me again he told me " GOD DAMMIT YOU BETTER STOP MOVING SHUT IT I DONT GIVE A **** IF YOUR HURT YOU DESERVE IT" (my sister and mother were sitting there laughing and amused by the scene) after about an hour of him me struggling to get out of this 48 year old mans grip and him hitting me evertime I tried to do so I was left bleeding in two spots and extremely sore. he picked me up a again brought me to my room and threw my on the floor. He proceeded to call the police and say that I was insane had a mental problem and did drugs (IM ONLY 13) The police told him that if any more incidents were to occur then I would be put in an INSANE ASYLUM AND I WOULD HAVE A PARROLL OFFICER. I'm so scared now because I know if I call the police on him that they wont believe me because my dad already lied about me HELP :,,,((( |
Question: I got grounded for prank calling? Posted: 27 Jul 2017 06:51 PM PDT My dad heard me prank calling burgerville, telling them there is poop in my burger. He got really mad. He ******* SOLD my pc and took away my phone for LIFE. Thats not an exaggeration. He also banned my from video games the whole summer. I didnt even do anything THAT bad. Is he overreacting a bit? its not like i did anything illegal. i didnt call the same store more than once, i didnt harrass or threaten them in any way, and its not like i dialed 911. it was just one innocent joke. |
Question: Why is my older cousin so bossy? Posted: 27 Jul 2017 06:35 PM PDT She's so annoying and mean! She tells me what to do and acts like Miss Boss Of Everyone. She's 16 and I'm 12. When we were at this college concert today,i pointed to my mom to a girl that i knew. I told her that the lipstick shade she was wearing was the one that i wanted to buy for a family friend's wedding. Then my cousin butt in and said, "yes red lipstick is nice but... she's in college and you're starting grade 7,right?" then gave me a STERN look. Nobody asked for her opinion, and I was talking to my MOM! Ugh i cant stand her sometimes. We live in an extended family and we see each other alot. Shes been this way since we were little kids! She keeps reminding me "but youre in grade 6 right?"every time she disapproves of something or thinks im too young. It's none of her business to tell me what to do. And its pointless because I almost always never listened to her. Why cant she just leave me alone and let me do whatever thats my business!? |
Question: Sister is so annoying? Posted: 27 Jul 2017 06:29 PM PDT she keeps judging me whenever i watch youtubers (like alexis g zall because she thought i wanted her to be my girlfriend???????) i cant even cook or watch tv anymore because she turns it off and always barges in my room and is really really annoying she came back from college and acts like a second annoying bratty mom which i really dont need especially with depression |
Question: Mother son relationship after divorce? Posted: 27 Jul 2017 06:25 PM PDT My fiances mother and father recently got a divorce. Reason being is because she cheated on her husband twice. One day she got angry and left the house and went to move in with her best friend then a few weeks later got an apartment 30 minutes away from her kids. She left in mid march and they divorced mid june. During that time his dad tried everything he could think of to get her back. After she left she started drinking and partying(something she was always against). She said she left because her husband was controlling and she was tired of her same routine day after day( going to work then going to the kids games/practices). Me and my fiance have been together for almost 6 years and during that time I noticed him and his mom didnt really have a relationship. She would always get angry very quickly and it was hard to be around her. Since she left he has blocked her from facebook and on his phone. Well his mom now wants to be able to communicate with him to rebuild their relationship. His dad is basically nagging him to unblock her from the phone. My thought process is why should they try to have a relationship now that she left and has a new life when she didnt try to have a relationship when they were still married. His siblings communicate with their mom when she texts them but everyone is making him look like the bad guy because he is disappointed in his mothers choices and doesnt want anything to do with her. What do you think he should do? His dad is also telling him that by keeping her blocked its shutting her out and if he continues to shut her out she might commit suicide. And basically telling him if she commits suicide its his fault since he wouldnt talk to her. With all that being said, she never supported our relationship or liked me. Do you think its alright if we dont invite her to our wedding. Of course his dad is nagging us to invite her. I dont feel like we should invite people who dont support our relationship. Plus she made the decision to leave so why should she still be included in the big moments of our lives. |
Question: Is it normal to not want to show your parents things you make? Posted: 27 Jul 2017 06:16 PM PDT I've never been very close with my parents and I'm finding it rarer and rarer to be comfortable around them. Something I like to do in my free time is digital art, which really helps me destress. However, my parents constantly bother me about wanting to see my art, and I really don't want to/like showing them my art. They insist on it though and it's starting to make me very angry. When I told my mom it was vent art and personal, almost like a diary, she told me "there's no such thing as private in this house." They get pissed when I try to stop them from seeing my art and it's a big turn off for drawing, and a lot of the time I lose motivation because my mom or dad will come over and force me to show then my art. I've tried talking to them about it but they just won't have it and I'm at a loss for what to do. Am I the one that's wrong or my parents? And if it's me what do I need to change? |
Question: My dad still controls me and i'm turning 18 in a week from now!? please advice? Posted: 27 Jul 2017 06:05 PM PDT I'm going to turn 18 in a week from today, however, i'm still going to be a senior in high school due to being late born. that's not why i'm here. it's because of my parents. my mom and dad (more specifically my dad) have been controlling me ever since i can remember. i don't even have my drivers permit because of my dad. i know i need to still obey them since i live under their roof, but my dad doesn't live here anymore!!! my mom and dad divorced a year and a half ago and my dad still controls me like he lives in the same house. he even told me i'm not allowed to get my permit when i turn 18. i told him i will get my permit and he said "if you do, you will be kicked out from my house" and my mom owns the house now, but he said he doesn't care, he'll still have me kicked out when i'm 18. any help? |

Posted: 27 Jul 2017 05:50 PM PDT So right now we re having a lot of problems in our family and CPS are going to get called and I m probably not going to see my parents. Where would I go if they do take me and would I be stuck in a house all day or will I be able to leave and go out and do my own things ?I have a fiancé and he has his own house but they let me move in with him because I don t really want to spend time in a foster home. Question: Why do women hate each other to the point of family members even doing it? Posted: 27 Jul 2017 04:45 PM PDT Even mothers are jealous of their own daughters that they gave birth to, they just stop loving them judging by what I hear. Why are women so ****** up? |
Posted: 27 Jul 2017 04:31 PM PDT My sister is an alcoholic. He is always moody even when he might not be drunk. Constantly he starts arguments and bitches at everyone. He also refuses to get herself help despite a family intervention. What do we do for her at this point? He doesn't seem to think he has a problem but only once in the last 15 visits has she been sober. |
Question: Am I wrong for disliking my mother? Posted: 27 Jul 2017 04:29 PM PDT All she does is take my sisters side. I am the youngest and they all disrespect me and talk down to me but if I try to defend myself I'm wrong. Her argument is that because I'm the youngest, my feelings don't matter as much as anyone else's and I don't have a say. All of my feelings are constantly disregarded. Any time I say how I feel she talks about how I don't have a bad life and how I live in a good neighborhood and can get anything I want, as if her buying me things occasionally makes up for the treatment I get. I cry out of frustration because no one ever listens and then im "too emotional" and they laugh at me. When I graduate I want to stay far away from my entire family and I want no contact with them. I want to live my own life and start fresh and bless them with my absence because of how they act towards me. Am I wrong for that? |
Posted: 27 Jul 2017 04:26 PM PDT My family has rejected me. I offered to pay for it money wise but someone fixed it for free. I am cast out of the family forever. I don't know how I go on living. What do I do? It happened when I opened a car door real fast and it hit the side of my aunt's car and made a dent. She had just fixed the car up. The family might be polite to me again but will never like me again. I am forever rejected and can't go on. |
Question: Do you think my mom married just to change her name ? Posted: 27 Jul 2017 04:09 PM PDT So my mom's family name (which is my last night) is a name people make fun of a lot. All the older adults said that they got picked on in school. As did I because kids are mean. My mom got married young and then got a divorce 6months later. She kept her married name. She's the type of person that doesn't like to get made fun of. Even if your joking around with her. Do you think she only married to change her last name? |
Posted: 27 Jul 2017 04:00 PM PDT She has mental problems though I know that is not her fault. Her parents got a call from someone saying he had to do as they say if they want to see their daughter anytime soon. Then the caller hung up. They called the police immediately. The police found the daughter safe within an hour and at her home. She denies involvement in the hoax. No idea why my aunt didn't request the police track where the call came from but it was an anonymous number my aunt said. So now I have aunt understandably mad at her daughter for lying but daughter coming to me that her mother is falsely accusing her. Which do I believe? Cousin is 22 and has emotional problems. Her first father committed suicide when she was 2 but her step-father adopted her at age 9. Her mother means well and loves her but I don't think her mother understands how mental illness distorts the mind. Her husband does not either. Both mean well though. So now aunt is telling me how horrible her daughter is and daughter how horrible her mother is. I like both. Who do I believe? I think cousin is pretty good but very sick emotionally and likely needs more help then she is getting. I do think she lies though (the cousin). Not sure if this was staged or just a phone scam. |

Question: My Little brother is acting like a teen and watches bad movies.? Posted: 27 Jul 2017 03:56 PM PDT My brother is ONLY 10 years old (going to turn 11).........he is acting like he is 15 years old. He is watching PG-13 movies and R movies. My parents don't care at all. I feel like I'm the parent out of everybody in my family. He recently just watched "Howard the Duck" which I didnt even watch ever and I'm 14 years old. I didnt even know he watched it, I didnt even know what it was about. Oh boy was I wrong. I just overheard him telling his best friend "Yeah it showed duck breast and you should check out the condom scene." I literally cried a little bit. Im an overprotective sister, he will always be my little brother. To hear him say that and to know hes thinking about sex ruins me. HES ONLY 10. When I was 10 I didn't think about that at all, I just played with my dolls and played with my brother. He said he watched R movies the whole week. Im disappointed. He also says bad words every day and calls me a "hypocrite". (I dont like it at all.) He has bad attitudes sometimes and his best friend doesn't help him at all. Hes going to middle school and I hope he doesnt start dating yet.. I try to stop him but my parents just keep letting him do whatever. Also my brother once made "moaning noises" and called his best friend "daddy." I am now sad and depressed. Any thoughts? (Im also shy and dont like to talk to my brother about that stuff. I try my best to talk to him about something else." |
