Question: Do you think what an associate at our firm did was inappropriate? Posted: 17 Jul 2017 08:42 PM PDT We have two associates in our firm who are each about 23 years old. They are acquaintances but not incredibly good friends with each other it seems. They were discussing high school at the time and one said he was a goth in high school. He was a guy. The girl said that she simply hadn't imagined him as being a goth as she hadn't seen him wearing that style of clothing. Then later, she looked at his Facebook page. She looked at photos of him in high school and showed him one and said "yes, you were a goth in high school". It was a photo of him in a certain kind of hat. This seems inappropriate and unprofessional, to me at least. Maybe if she was very closely friends with him, it would be okay, but she doesn't seem to be. I don't want to sound judgmental. But it just seems unprofessional (and frankly, likely a little bit awkward for him, if she was looking at his old Facebook pictures). What do you think? |
