Question: Is it normal for an ex to be like this? Posted: 21 Jul 2017 11:38 AM PDT He is a loner type & not used to relationships. He's 33 so probably will never change. The only thing is that we've been broken up for 1yr 3 months, but he still messages me. I haven't seen him since December when we met a few times after breaking up. Every month he messages me. Last time he tried to see if I'm single and what I'm doing on the weekend etc. He messaged me by accident and when I didn't respond he said 'hope you're ok. Sent that message by accident.' I said it feels like you're trying to remind me of you & he says 'ok sorry won't do it again.' I felt bad & said I was more confused than annoyed & he said 'no worries x.' then he text me later asking if everything's ok. I miss him but I don't know if he's changed when it comes to relationships. What does he want? |
Question: Adult children financially supporting a parent (need advice)? Posted: 21 Jul 2017 10:38 AM PDT Lately, my mom has been driving me nuts. I am her 24-year-old daughter. My dad, older brother, and I used to live together when I was attending high school. My mom was with her boyfriend at the time, things didn't work out, then she moved in with her sister, things didn't work out, then she moved in with us. So for a few years now, we've all have been living under one roof (she and my dad have been divorced for years). My mom has split custody of my younger brother (half time with her ex boyfriend, half time with her). My dad has always told me she is codependent and knows what she is like but he and I are estranged. I will be attending school in the fall and she needs a crown on one of her teeth. She was wondering if I could help her out a little with my financial aid. I think this is a little ridiculous and offered to help with payments with the money I make, not financial aid. She then wants me to pay for her driver's license renewal, basic items, etc. I basically support her and now my older brother is helping her out too. She doesn't want to work an actual job, she says she gets tired. She just wants to maybe pet sit for a few people to make money. She is always looking for that type of work. I know there are adult children out there who support their parents but I can't help but feel a littler perturbed about having to pay for everything? What should I do? |

Question: I'm nervous to meet my random roommate? Posted: 17 Jul 2017 04:46 PM PDT So I'm going to be a freshman in college next month and I had to do the random roommate match thing because I don't know anyone going to my college. I got my roommate assigned and we started talking and it seems like we're really getting along but we won't be able to meet up before move in day because she lives 3 hours away. I'm really nervous that we won't get along or she won't like me once we meet in person. What do I do? And do you guys suggest doing a video chat before so we at least sort of meet? |

Question: My kinda scared that my cousin's husband is attracted to me? Posted: 17 Jul 2017 11:33 AM PDT So im 17 years old and i came to my cousin's house to visit with some family. My cousin and her husband have been married for 4 years now. Shes 26 and he is 27. Recently, he had taken me out to go visit some colleges a few hours away from where they live so we had alot of time to talk and stuff on the road. The other day however, he started to like hold my hand. I mean at first i didnt think much of it because my other random family members do that too. Then yesterday, in the car, he kissed the back of my hand several times, as well as later on in the day whilst holding his son, who is a baby, kissed me on the cheek and then tried to play it off by kissing him on the cheek as well. (At least i think he was trying to play it off). I just need some opinions... I dont know if its weird or not because he seems to be more friendly with me than with anyone else. I mean he still is still legitimately acting like a married man when around my cousin and stuff or when the other family members are around so i dont know... Is he possibly attracted to me? HELP ASAP! When i say talk on the road. i mean like we had time to bond and talk about random topics and what not. |
Question: Feel like I'm going mad? Posted: 17 Jul 2017 11:28 AM PDT Ok a month ago I was told I need a knee replacement, my eldest son is moving to live far away to be with his girlfriend, my middle son is in constant pain with a chronic illness and may need major surgery soon if his new line if treatment doesn't work, my youngest son lives at home and has just set up his own business with help from me, the business was a little slow to get off the ground at first but it is now picking up, I help him when I can, my mother has vascular dementia and alzheimers. My husband picks on the slightest little thing and I can't do anything right, hes always obsessed with what the neighbours are up to etc... When I told him I don't care what they're up to and he should mind his own business and concentrate on matter close to home he now won't talk to me and spends all his time in the pub, he is not my sons father by the way but we are married and have been together over 11 years. I have no one to talk to as he says what goes on in this house stays in this house yet hes talking to strangers in the pub. I don't know how this together. What should I do. He's all me me me. My husband also suffers from erectile dysfunction and although he has been having testosterone replacement for it he still won't come near me, I had some money left to me in a will and he's also always begging me for material things, the other day he'd asked to borrow money for a set of drill bits and a new mobile phone before mid day to which I said no. His family don;t bother with him either and he questions who his father is, I'm fed up of everything, no one ever thinks about me. |

Posted: 16 Jul 2017 06:38 PM PDT I have been in a relationship with q sociopath for almost 10 years. I feel alone and isolated and am afraid to lose him, as crazy as that sounds. To make matters worse, I returned to the workforce last year and work in the same company he has-been at for 15 years. He is a nice guy at work and holds a very good mask up at work but I know it is greatly do to his conning his boss just the way he conned me. What is the best short-but-sweet way to uncover his games. Last year I stumbled across some info on the web about sociopaths a D they may have well written it as a study on his exact behavior because it fit his game perfectly. That was a long read and a lot of different sites I went to to learn this and getting someone to read all that is not realistic. He is doing a major smear cosign at work lately because we have been fighting a lot. He is very skilled at gaslighting. Anyone know what the best article is that's short and to the pointt? Any other helpful info of advice would be greatly appreciated too! Thank you! |
Question: What is wrong with America? Posted: 16 Jul 2017 05:40 PM PDT We have 20 yr olds who have 2 kids and they have 2 or more kids driving brand new Kia Sorentos or Nissan pathfinders while collecting ebt, medicaid, and etc. Some of us have no kids, actually work for a living at age 20, also attend university to become a pharmacist someday, and work as a pharamcy tech 32 hours a week. I drive a 2011 chevy aveo. Why should people who live off of taxpayers drive nicer vehicles than those who actually work? If you can afford a 24k suv, a new iphone, and 5 northface hoodies then you do not need government assistance. |

Question: Am I TOO HARSH of a parent? Posted: 16 Jul 2017 03:01 PM PDT I found out that my disgrace of a son has been dating a girl that he met at college without my consent! They haven't consummated yet (at least, that is what he told me. I can no longer trust him) but I refuse to tolerate such behavior. I took away some of his privileges here at the house: -no more fun (electronics, joy, laughter, tasteful food) -no pooping and he can only pee once every other day -no masturbating -3 hour plank position every morning. if he drops his hips, he has to restart - no more sex toys (he has some dildos and anal beads) -he cooks all meals -he can only leave the house when we leave, and he is on a leash My "friend" told me that I was being quite severe. I disagree, but I wanted an arbitrator, so here I am on YA. Am I being too harsh? |
Question: Afraid something happened to a man at the cookout I was at....? Posted: 16 Jul 2017 01:52 PM PDT I was at a brewery for a cookout. When I was leaving, there was a man around his 60s/70s stumbling about. He was with his son and daughter in law and teenage grandson. They were taking him to a port-a-potty. He seemed to be throwing up. I toyed with the idea of checking on him, but the son was with him (an adult, in his late 30s or 40s). The daughter in law looked like she was going to get the car. My parents were with me and said that we should leave it to his family to help, so we left. My friend was still there and said someone in her group of friends, who is EMT certified, asked if they needed help and they said no. He asked if he was a diabetic and they said no, too. I did call the brewery and they said he had heat exhaustion and that he made a joke asking if he could take one for the ride home. Was this bad of me to not step in? I have no medical training. I was just concerned. But he was with his family! |
Question: Does my ex not want me to move on? Posted: 16 Jul 2017 01:38 PM PDT We broke up 1 yr 3 months ago, but I stopped seeing him altogether in December. He let the relationship go because he's not good at relationships. Ever since, he's been sending whatsapps saying he hopes I'm ok, every month or so. There is no real conversation, but last time he wanted to find out if I'm single & my weekend plans. He said we could talk later if I liked. I said ok but I never messaged him. I haven't text first since I said I'm moving on in December. He whatsapped me again by accident the other day. I ignored it, but then 2 days later, he told me that he hopes I'm ok & text again saying it was an accident text. I told him it feels like he wants to keep reminding me of him. He just said "Ok I'm sorry, won't do it again." He's in his 30s & can't be direct. I said it's fine I just didn't know what he wanted. Now I think he feels hurt. |
Posted: 16 Jul 2017 01:22 PM PDT I don't know if this counts as bad hygiene but it's definitely disgusting; During the night, my mom gets up multiple times to go to the bathroom (there's only one in the house) and she doesn't flush. She says it's because she doesn't want to wake me up but I've told her that it doesn't bother me too much (because I fall back asleep quickly) and that I'd rather she flushed but she still doesn't. Every morning I wake up to this mess that I have to deal with. Added to this, when she poops she flushes but she doesn't use the toilet brush. This means she always leaves behind all this mess( like streaks and lumps) on the toilet bowl that I end up cleaning up. So basically everytime she poops I have to clean up after her, and I don't think that's something that a child should have to do for their parent. It makes me feel like I have to be the 'mom' and I'm tired of it. How do I tell her to clean up after herself? She also uses toothpicks after eating and just leaves them everywhere like the coffee table, kitchen counter tops, the sofa... and leaves them there for me to pick up. I don't want to touch them. Plus the dentist told her to stop using toothpicks and to floss instead, her breath smells & she has toothaches and the dentist said it's because of the food stuck between her teeth that the toothpicks can't reach. Still she doesn't want to floss but complains about her teeth aching. She also does this thing where she snorts to bring forward the mucus from the back of her throat and nose into her mouth and 'plays' with it in her mouth like swishing and moving it around and chewing on it. Not only is noise annoying, the sight of ot makes me wanna throw up. The main issue is the poop thing. |
Question: Why do you think some family stops keeping in touch? Posted: 16 Jul 2017 12:23 PM PDT Ever since Ive been married, my sisters stopped calling or keeping in touch. Before we kept in touch once in a while but now its like months and years go by and I dont hear from them. I know they have their own lives and I'm not saying we should talk every day but at least once in a while would be nice. Its always me reaching out to them because I dont know why they dont call. I guess they never really liked me to begin with and now its obvious. ;( @krull, thank you captain obvious. Of course the connection is lost but why now? |

Question: Boyfriend always second guesses me? Posted: 15 Jul 2017 05:51 PM PDT My boyfriend always feels the need to fact check every every statement I make, and its beginning to become a problem. I feel stupid asking this but I need some outside perspective on this. The latest example that especially got under my skin happened last night while we were discussing our iternerary for an upcoming two week trip. He had some questions about the original ideas we mapped out a couple months ago, lamenting the fact that his picture of our schedule had been buried by months worth of pictures. I said this wasn't a problem, as I told him how that original plan had been etched into my brain after months of me painstakingly making sure I had the funds to support both of us during our trip and stressing immensely with the anticipation of going on my first international trip. He insisted on finding the picture anyways. After a good ten minutes of him insisting on continuing to try finding the picture, I coaxed out one of the things he was hoping to learn from the picture. I answered the question without missing a beat. Hoping I had proved that I knew what I knew my stuff. I asked him if he had any more questions and even offered to write it out and send him the schedule. He refused my help, while continued to look for the stupid picture. This isn't an isolated incident. When he tells me things, I trust him out of respect for his intelligence. He truly is a smart guy in his own right. I'm just beginning to wonder if he respects my intelligence in the same way. |

Question: Why do I feel like everybody has something to criticize or say against me? Posted: 15 Jul 2017 05:23 PM PDT I'm going to have to be honest here, There came many periods during my lifetime that people never really brought up the value of my accomplishments and always try digging a way to criticize me and always put me under.....I'm 17 So I guess that's young right? But I never felt like I had any respect from the many people I met or nobody brought up some positive to talk about whenever they bring up or mention me, Maybe it's just me or I'm just with the wrong friends or people? I'm pretty nice and I stay quiet most of the time engaging in conversations only when I want or is needed to. I feel like my life is full of criticism and I can never achieve universal respect from other people. |
Question: I'm a horrible person and I want to die. Can I please talk to someone? Posted: 15 Jul 2017 04:03 PM PDT For the past week the angry and sad side of me has taken over with everything else going on and it's making me want to kill myself. I've had these feelings other times recently and not so recently and I've had people help me with it but now none of my friends (+ my cousin) like me anymore! I can't ask my family because they're already going through enough with financial issues and death of a close friend so I don't want to wear them out. Here's how the despair all started this week: In my group of my friends, I'm the funny one, so I always make my friends laugh. So on Monday of this week, when I was gonna hang out with them, I overheard them saying that I suck andI'm really annoying I'm not funny and that really put my self esteem down. But when I entered the room that they were in, they all seemed happy and laughed at my jokes. This triggered my bipolar depression and made me sad all week. Yesterday, most of the girls in our friend group had a girls night out, that they didnt invite me to. I asked if I could come but they didnt respond to my texts, except for my cousin. She said for me to "shut the f*ck up" and "we didnt invite you because you are an annoying c*nt and you ruin everything", and that made me cry and feel useless and now I want to die. So can I please talk to someone about it? I can't get in contact with any suicide hotlines, the boys in the group are visiting family and my family is already stressed enough, and the girls are definitely not an option. |

Question: How to stop letting someone bring you down? Posted: 15 Jul 2017 11:29 AM PDT My mom is very disgusting to me. I may be her daughter but she treats me like someone off the streets who she constantly violates. She calls me names, and just seems like my hater rather than my mom. I even think she's delusional because I'm the only person in my house who cleans up I do everything..I have siblings who do nothing and instead of her telling them she just screams at me and calls me dirty..my room is very clean but since the house is so dirty she keeps taking her anger out on me and saying I'm dirty and my room smells..it's like she picks on me to make herself and everyone feel better and seem "perfect"..when she's not around im very confident but whenever I'm around her She's very nasty..and makes it known that I'm this "worthless person" ..how to not let her bring me down she always ruins my mood and makes me upset..help? |

Question: What's wrong with me wanting nothing to do with and despising displays of affection? Posted: 14 Jul 2017 06:15 PM PDT I'd rather wither away and die alone than having anything to do with a man or woman. I would rather die a lonely death than to put up with displays of affection. I'm single, a female, no husband, no friends, no pets, very distant ties with my family and that's the way I like it. |
Question: I'm not turned on by my boyfriend? Gets mad for not having sex? Normal? Posted: 14 Jul 2017 03:58 PM PDT He just doesn't turn me on. I feel turned off on so many levels even sexually. I feel pissed off about everything as well. I'm on vacation and find him annoying. When he doesn't get head, he gets pissed off! And being on vacation, I thought I would be able to go places I want to go, but I have to do the things he wants or else he gets moody. He's out right now and I feel so nice just being alone! ugh and on top of all this, I have another guy on my mind and I'm thinking of texting him which makes me feel so guilty!! What do I doooo |
Question: Wife of an elderly neighbor seems concerned that I talked with her husband.? Posted: 14 Jul 2017 03:18 PM PDT We were out doing yard work and we just chatted over the fence. This guy is twenty years older than me and could be my father! We were talking for about 10 minutes or so, as he was telling me about a recent trip he and his wife had taken. The wife (who I have met before) came out on the back porch and just keep staring not saying a word. I looked over and smiled and waved, but there was a silent stare. What is with this? Is she upset that he was talking to a neighbor? That's it. I just didn't get a nice feeling coming our direction. |
Question: Is it weird that my friends husband wants to befriend my stepdad? Posted: 14 Jul 2017 02:22 PM PDT So my friend from high school recently got married her new husband really got along with my stepdad they exchanged phone numbers. My friend told me that her husband was going to call my stepdad & my mom to make plans and hang out without including me and my husband? I felt bothered by this because I feel there should be a boundary its nice they get along but to make plans without us felt weird. Would you feel weird if your friends wanted to hang out with your parents without you? This friend and I are very close like sisters friends for over 20 years now. |
Question: Guy, help? Should I be sad? Posted: 14 Jul 2017 02:16 PM PDT So I and this guy have gotten very close these past 6 weeks, we attended a summer college get together and that's how we met. While we were at the college group camp we hun out a lot and talked every day about the camp and activities we did. It was so fun. He even paid for my ticket to go to schlitterbahn nad before I left camp he have made a huge box of goldfish (by th our favorite snack). He gave me a huge hug and asked to take a picture with me. We live far away but we've still texted, not as much as we used to, although we Snapchat and he likes all of my social media stuff as I do for him. We're both extremely busy with work and jobs, I'm sad because we don't text as much as we used to, we're still great friends but it stinks. We do have conversations a talks but like I said not as much. Does he hate me now? |
Question: I think some creep is after me? Posted: 14 Jul 2017 11:56 AM PDT -so basically last year in September I was outside my house with my parents. a guy in a very tinted car drives by and stops his ca and just stares at me. so much. then drives away. I was very confused. we drove off (we were going somewhere) and I saw his car again, going in the direction of my house. I was so scared. -around the month of march (this year) I noticed that whenever I came home, a minute later a guy in a car would pass by, very slowly, and just stare at me. this happened many times in that month and after. it was a different car every time. (at this point I was going crazy. I was so scared) -today I came home, a minute later a small grayish brown car drove by slowly. a guy was in it starring at me and the car I was in. should I make a police report? I m thinking that these stories are connected. should I get a gps tracker to see if someone put a gps on my car to see when I get home? thanks. |
