Question: Not sure what to do in paternity case involving soldiers wife!? Posted: 17 Jul 2017 09:49 PM PDT So a little over 5 years ago my husband slept with a girl. He actually thinks she might have drugged him. He woke up not knowing where he was or what happened. There was a used condom on the floor. Fast forward to now. Basically she came up pregnant we told her we wanted a DNA test and if it was his kid we were seeking a form of custody she bolted. Well we tried contacting her again and we found out she s married and has been since 2011. Her husband had left 6 weeks before she had relations with my husband. It happened 3 weeks before I met him. Needless to say we asked for a DNA test. We had no idea she was married. Her husband is a special forces guy. Him and his family has literally begged us to leave paternity alone. I think they are divorcing because of this. His name is on the birth certificate. In Tennessee it s extremely hard to get rights now that a father has been established according to law. The lawyer said we might get nothing and it would be extremely extremely expensive as well as difficult to get any custody since she was married at the time. We aren t sure whether to pursue or leave it be. We don t want to be selfish and disrupt her life. It s just difficult. Thoughts? |
