I just lost my job recently and he is against the idea of me hanging out with my friend because it means that I will be spending money. I feel kind of suffocated, am I wrong? or Am I being immature?

I have a close friend of mine that is severely lost. He is out of control. His family life is not the best because they are all meth addicts. He currently lives with his step mom that doesn't care about him. He is unemployed currently, and to make things worse he even got a huge tattoo on his neck. I think he did this out of attention. He has admitted to me that he wants to go to rehab and get back on track but he his just lost. Any advice on how to deal with him? I hate seeing a good friend go down this path.
