Question: My best friends little sister likes me. What do I do? Posted: 05 Sep 2016 05:23 PM PDT As a freshman I became best friends with a sophomore now I'm a senior and my best friend is in ireland for a year. the past three years I would go over to his house every once in a while and see his family at least once a week. then last year his sister started highschool with us and so I would see her every day after school while waiting for our parents and I became friends with her as well. Now that my Friend is gone I'm still friends with her and I was told recently that she likes me which I had started figuring when she thought I had asked if we could date and got real happy before I corrected her. I cant even contact my friend to ask for his permission. |
Question: Why are best friends so protective of each other? Posted: 05 Sep 2016 05:11 PM PDT I've seen social media pages about best friends and how like their best friend is their other half, etc. Some people specifically girls consider each other as "siblings". They're protective of their bestie when a guy wants to date them and for those people with besties that have passed away they say they always come into their dream to give them advice and tell them they're okay, etc. I'm not religious but if there is an afterlife (idk if there is) then wouldn't people be rather enjoying Heaven and stuff if there really is?? Instead they visit their best friends from when they were living just to protect them (if that's really true, my mom is religious and I learned a bit about stuff like spirits). At my school this girl is best friends with another girl a few years older than us and she immediately and dramatically burst into tears after hearing her best friend fell down the ladder and went to the hospital..seriously she'll be okay, it's just a broken leg. So why do people act their their BFFs matter sooo much!? |

Question: Tips on back to school? Posted: 05 Sep 2016 05:03 PM PDT Ok so I'm going into seventh grade this year. Sixth grade was a disaster, I had lots of friends at the beginning but they prefer me over other people now or they were just plain bad friends. I'm pretty much starting newer than I was, and it'll be weird seeing the friends I broke up with because they don't have any friends, so they'll just be staring at me the whole time. Currently I have 0 good friends but I plan to make new ones, but I'm just nervous at the thought of it. I also got pretty average grades too, which I was not happy about, even though I passed. I admit I didn't study very much. I'm afraid I'll be awkward and clumsy, because I'm not confident. I need help creating a mind set that everything will be ok. My break up friends have friends, but not many* |
Question: How to reconnect with a friend? Posted: 05 Sep 2016 05:02 PM PDT Me and this guy were friends for all of elementary school. We would have sleepovers and hang out and play video games. Then middle school happened. We started hanging out with other people and now we are freshmen in high school and haven't talked since 6th grade. We were amazing friends and as close as friends could be. He invited me to play a game on xbox once 3 weeks ago but we didnt talk and havent since. Is there anything I can do to become friends with him again. P.S. We have no classes together. |
Question: Why am I always left out? Posted: 05 Sep 2016 04:58 PM PDT No one even notices me anymore and I didn't do anything bad :,( so I don't know why my friends always leave me out. I'm 11 years old, but I'm really small so most people mistake me for an eight year old and all the popular girls don't like me. Things never go my way and I'm so sad. In school, a lot of times we had to do group assignments. But every single time, no one even picks me and when I ask they just say no. I'm really upsets about this |
Question: My friend got stuck in a trash can, help!? Posted: 05 Sep 2016 04:53 PM PDT My friend had a volleyball practice today after school, I was in a classroom waiting for her to show up because we had a project we needed to finish. She got to the classroom and we started working. My desk is right next to the door and my friend just a few steps backwards from my desk and she tripped over the recycling bin and her butt landed right in the trash can behind it, she sunk all they way to bottom, she says her butt is touching the bottom. We got a good laugh out of that. Then my friend stood up and it came with her and then she tried to push the trash can off but it wouldn t budge. She asked me for help and tried pulling it off while she was pushing, but this trash can would not move at all. She is still wearing her spandex shorts and her shirt got rolled up as she fell into it, exposing her bare skin and it s all sticky from her practice. Everytime we try, we can t seem to budge the trash can at all, she s been stuck for a good 20 minutes now. How can we get her out? |
Posted: 05 Sep 2016 04:49 PM PDT I started my freshmen year of college and moved in a week late because the dorms were full and space was finally available for me. My roommate invited me to a party and I went, trying to get out of my shell. I stood on the side and it was really hard for me but I did try to make conversation with multiple groups but they would cut off the conversation when I asked if they go to my school and look away and not seem interested. . Ive downloaded apps and after a while would ask people if they want to meet up and play volleyball or something and they would go ghost on me. I did join a school club and we did an icebreaker to introduce our self, it was weird because I actually tried talking the most when they were all quiet. I tried asking can I tag along to a tailgate with one of the girl I spoke to and she said yeah but never replied later that night though I saw her attend to the event on snapchat with her friends. I also made a "friend"in one of my writing classes after a rainy day and invited him to come under my umbrella. He asked me if I Was going to a football game so if I had no one to go with I could go with him and of course I was happy and said yeah. The day comes and I get my ticket and he dosent respond until when the game is over and says "sorry I went with my friends". Im not trying to give a sob story on how lonely I feel but I really do feel alone, my friend started school too and she already made a bunch of friends already and i feel like im trying so hard here. And I did want to add on im not a introvert I had a lot of friends back home, I just dont know what im doing wrong |

Question: Is it appropriate while talking one friend, to refer to another as your 'best friend'? Posted: 05 Sep 2016 03:20 PM PDT I'm just wondering if i have grounds for feeling some jealousy when my friend that I've been talking to pretty much every day for almost a year now talks to me about her other friend being her closest and best?.. But I'd like to add that it's not like she's deliberately trying to rub it in my face or anything like that. She just mentions it in passing. |
Question: My friend is homeless and needs help what resources are out there to help? Posted: 05 Sep 2016 03:19 PM PDT I have a friend who just got out of an abusive relationship her son 10yrs old and her are living in a hotel right now. She hasnt been able to find a job so she is on food stamps and receives minimal cash aid. Shes been trying to get herself in a steady shelter or somewhere to stay but hasnt been getting much help. She goes to school and so does her son she has been endlessly looking for a job but since she has little to no experience no one is hiring her. Today is her last night at the hotel after that she has no where to go. Shes devastated and scared. She lives in whittier California and has no family to help and i am too far away. I dont know how to help or know anything about shelters or anything of anything. What can she do? Anyone please help! Any advice?? |

Posted: 05 Sep 2016 03:13 PM PDT Basically my friend who I ve been friends with for about 9 years since we were kids, is just so selfish that it s infuriating! We had a ridiculous argument over holidays, where she said she would only ever go to Florida which I questioned her about asking if she wouldn t want to see somewhere new and explaining that I personally wouldn t want to live with not trying new things and attempting to avoid an argument by saying that we just need to agree to disagree, of which she responded with I don t care about your fkn opinion lol. Everywhere we go it s always what she wants, where she wants to shop, where she wants to eat, what time she wants to leave, what day she wants to go etc. She s worried about not getting a job so I send her links to available jobs close by and I ve got her an appointment with Careers advice which she wanted, but she doesn t seem to appreciate any of it. When I think about it, she has never done much for me apart from mock me jokingly, she makes my feelings seem irrelevant and she always averts the conversation to something she s interested in or something about herself. There isn t much point arguing with her because she s so selfishly stubborn, I don t think I want to fall out with her but I don t know whether to ignore her or just act different in hopes she gets the message. Help!?? |
Question: Someone killed themselves because of me.. Am I guilty? Posted: 05 Sep 2016 03:11 PM PDT Some time ago I had made a Facebook fake account (I know it's wrong), and some Arabic guy saw the profile and decided the girl in the photos was his dream girl. He didn't stop telling me to buy his life for lifetime, and was very annoying because I tried asking him to stop texting me, but he wouldn't listen. Everyday he messaged that he wanted to marry her, I tried to offend him but he still didn't stop. I told him the profile was fake and lied to him that the girl from the photos is dead because I wanted him to leave me alone. And then it started: he insisted that if God didn't bring her back he would kill himself. I stopped him, but ever since then he didn't stop texting me how lonely he felt, and that he wanted to meet with the girl from the photos. But after some time he ended up in hospital for taking too much sleeping pills, just because he was upset. He always threatened that if i stopped texting him, he would kill himself. Doctors who caught him trying to kill himself told he was mental, but he escaped hospital. He wanted to 'be my family and friend', but i am a teenager I wasn't comfortable with texting that stranger. At one time i offended his race and religion, but just because i was very annoyed at him. Finally, he told that he would stop and kill himself, and i said that he should do it it's his choice, if it means he would leave me alone. Later I tried to apologize, but he was dead. Have I commited a crime, and did he die because i was rude? |

Question: My friends don't ask me to hang out anymore? Posted: 05 Sep 2016 03:09 PM PDT I recently befriended 3 girls. We always hang out in a group. We live in different cities, but we're only 20 minutes away from each other. They used to be really into me. They would offer to come down to my area and pick me up to hang out. We would go out clubbing and partying all the time! Lately however, they stopped initiating plans with me. In fact, I'm finding that I'M the one initiating all the plans. I am starting to get the feeling that they don't care for me and they don't wanna hang out anymore...but I don't know why. I get along with literally everyone. I'm nice, funny, and just a good person to be around. I can't see why people wouldn't want to hang out with me. I know that sounds cocky, but I really meant that in a genuine way. I'm extremely insecure, and when someone doesn't initiate plans to hang out with me I automatically assume that they don't like me anymore, when most of the time, that's clearly not the case. Also the other day I asked these girls if they wanted to hang out and they said yes, but they also didn't know when they would be available. I just told them to let me know when they're free. I later saw pics on them on social media and they were all together hanging out smoking weed n ****. Like, where was my invite? Ugh sorry for the rant. What should I do? |
Question: If I am a male and my best friend is a female and a bunch of girls jump her.? Posted: 05 Sep 2016 03:08 PM PDT I can't hit women, so what am I supposed to do? My friend got in a fight with some girls, and she was the victim, and I was raised not to hit women, so I just tried to restrain them, and call for help... but that wasn't good enough. She is really angry with me that I didn't hit them or help her more... Is it okay to fight girls if they are fighting a sister or a friend? |
Question: My friends are bullying me!!! HELP!!? Posted: 05 Sep 2016 02:57 PM PDT My friends have been ignoring and saying stuff about me lately. Today at school i was eating lunch, and a girl who recently became my friends, friend, asked me to stop following my friends around. I joined the same club as my friends and the girl said i should make other friends. I saw my friends whosper stuff in her ear and after that the girl accused me of calling her a b****! (I didnt call her that). I told her that im not even allowed to swear and she laughed in my face. I ran to the toilets and actually cryed at School for the FIRST TIME EVER (i didnt cry on my first day!) That girl laughed at me when she saw me. I have this nice girl on snapchat and i asked her if i can hang out with her. SHES SO NICE TO ME!!! Some people are just cows. Should i confront that mean girl or should i just pretend it didnt happen? What should i do? Thanks a lot i appreciate all of your answers |
Question: Should my 12 going on 13 year old friend be sending nudes? Posted: 05 Sep 2016 02:52 PM PDT Hi everyone. This is sort of a confusing question but I honestly need to know what to say to my friend. She is 12, turning 13 this October and has started to send nudes to a 17 year old in Canada (!!). Ive told her not to, but she won't listen and I need to know what to say to her and how to explain not too. She has had many boyfriends ever since elementary school and she claims to have a very nice body. My friend tells me that she wants to pleasure him or something like that, but honestly, I still don't understand why. Im not sure if I said too much and if I should delete this question, all i know is that I need someone to help me explain why this is so bad. Ive already said he can try to find her, or rape or do something bad, but I need more persuasion. Please help. My best friends innocence is on the line (or its already gone....). Thank you. |

Question: I used my roommates microwave without asking? Posted: 05 Sep 2016 02:50 PM PDT I wanted to heat up my lunch for the day and i went to the floor kitchen to use the microwave there but I was very dirty so I couldn t use it. I asked my CA if someone can clean it but because it was a Sunday she said that the cleaners weren t here. I asked her what to do and she asked if my roommate had a microwave. I only have a suitemate meaning that we have a bathroom connecting our two rooms but we re not that close. I ve been to her room once I noticed she has a microwave. I told my CA that she does but she s a suitemate and we don t share a room and that she s also away for the weekend but she told me that it s probably fine if I do use it and she wouldn t mind. I was very sceptical about this especially that I m not from America and back home we usually ask for permission first so I asked my friend (who is American) and she also told me that it s probably fine if I use it and just tell her about it later. After spending like 2 hours considering it I figured maybe it s not such a big deal so I went in and used it only for my suitemate to come in the room with her mom behind her. For some reason I felt very embarrassed and I apologised and told her I didn t know how to text her and she was away but she seemed very chill about it and was like it s fine and go for it and she was very nice about it. Her mom didn t seem to like me so much I think which made me worried even more. I m not sure if I should go back and tell her the whole story or if I m overreacting or what?? |

Question: Strict parents please help me? Posted: 05 Sep 2016 02:09 PM PDT So I have really strict parents. They don t want me to talk to guys because they think they want to take advantage of me. They don t want me to date and I don t want to date ether. The problem is is they don t believe me. I have a best friend that I can hang out with because he s a guy. I was only able to dm him because my parents can track my texts. I would only see him at school and last summer we skyped every night and I went out once to see him and my mom drove by and was spying on me. she then made me delete Instagram because she found out that I was talking to him through Instagram. He switched schools and I haven t talked to him in months. It s really been getting to me and I have been really depressed about it. I was just able to talk to him through my friends Instagram saying I m sorry about what happened and that I miss him and he kept blowing me off. For example he would say who is this and I would tell him my name and he would say I had the wrong person. Finally I said if you re messing with me I don t like it. And he said well I don t like it when parents get mad at me for talking to their kid. This really hurt and idk what to do. I have his number but my parents track me. Please help me. |
Question: I broke my friends phone by accident. PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION.? Posted: 05 Sep 2016 01:44 PM PDT So basically what happened is a couple of my friends and I were walking in my friends neighborhood when we saw a huge group of red ants. We got scared and started running but when I looked back, one of my friends had my phone and was going to out it in a bush (not really i don't think) but anyways, so i got scared and started running to it but my other friend right next to me was taking a video on her phone and when I started running after my phone, I accidentally bumped her a little by her shoulder which made her drop her phone on the sidewalk. The phone wasn't too bad, it just had a small crack on the screen and the corner of the screen chipped off. It still kind of worked tho but they were lines on the screen. Now i don't know what to do and I offered to give her some money but she said no. Now you see I don't have a job because I'm only 14 so I have no idea what to do and how to make it up to her. plz help. |
Question: Was this a homophobic act I committed? Posted: 05 Sep 2016 01:28 PM PDT I'm 24, straight, and have several gay friends. I've never found myself to be homophobic at all. I'm a former college swimmer and still swim in the mornings before work. Today, after swimming, in the shower, I ran into an aquaintance I know is a lesbian. The gym has wide open showers (around poles) and it really freaked me out to run into her there. I said high briefly, awkwardly (and I'm worried obviously) crossing my arms over my breasts as we talked.....and then I hightailed it to the locker room to get dressed without having really taken my shower. Intelectually I'm not bothered that she's allowed to use the locker room, and I know she kept good eye contact the entire time we chatted, but somehow KNOWING she was a lesbian and I was butt naked.....it made me uncomfortable. When I called my sister on my way to work she chastised me for being homophobic. And a colleague just agreed with her. Am I horribly insensitive and don't even know it? Am I crazy? To be clear, I've used open showers in college (I was a swimmer) and since, and I'm not massively modest. And it doesnt even bother me (in the least) that I'm sure MANY lesbians have seen me. This isn't me thinking they all are really checking me out, I don't think that. It's just that today, standing there buck naked and nowhere to hide, surprised to be face to face with someone I KNOW likes girls, I panicked and freaked out. And also to be clear, I didn't make a beeline past her to the door. I crossed my arms across my breasts (but I was still otherwise nude) and talked to her for a few seconds (hello, how are you doing, etc), then I left acting like I was finished with my shower (even though I wasn't) |

Question: Best friend ditched me for her boyfriend? Posted: 05 Sep 2016 12:34 PM PDT (This is going to be long, thanks for your responses!) My best friend has been dating this guy for 3 weeks and is obsessed with him. When we hang out, he'll randomly call her—and she picks up even IF we're in the middle of a conversation. She'll tell a story, I'll pay attention — but as soon as I start talking for more than 5 seconds she's on her phone texting him back. But yesterday was the last straw. I was over helping her move out; and when we were done I fell asleep. When I woke up, she came in from outside crying. (NOTE: She has a lot of issues from the past, and I have anxiety too. This made our friendship stronger bc we can talk about literally ANYTHING and she knows that.) She told me she's not okay and her boyfriends mom has been through a lot & wanted to talk to her. Now— The plan for that night was for me to spend the night. I told her she can do whatever, but it seemed like an excuse to go see him and she can just be honest. She admitted to wanting to see him and I brought up how she's let him get in the way of our friendship; but I still love her. She was crying and saying "don't leave me". I definitely need my space, but advice do you guys have for me? |

Question: Should I let him come? Posted: 05 Sep 2016 12:18 PM PDT I'm having a birthday party next weekend and I invited a lot of my friends. One of my friends asked if she could bring a guy friend but I don't know him at all and none of my friends know him so it would be awkward. I don't know if I should let him come or not cause my parents might ask who everyone is and I won't know who he is |
Question: Unhealthy obsession? Posted: 05 Sep 2016 12:18 PM PDT Me and my ex broke up because people were jealous, he wanted to make everyone happy. Of course I understood because he didn't want to make anyone sad. Today he just changed. He's acting different and has an obsession of keeping people happy. After a while of knowing someone you can tell when they're acting different. Here are some of the things he said. ( one text message ) LIAR! nonono sorry for yelling you're right. Everyone is happy! There's nothing to worry about, then! (Another message) why is no one happy? Why? Whywhywhywhywhy? Is everything okay or am I just overreacting? |
Question: How can I help my daughter to find friends who share her intrests? Posted: 05 Sep 2016 12:14 PM PDT My daughter often tells me that she never quite fits in around her current group of friends because she has completely different interests. She tells me her friends are all in to makeup, Snapchat One Direction and horses. But she likes things like Anime, Manga and her favourite singer is Michael Jackson. I have nothing against her current friends, but she is always complaining that her friends are completely different to her and she feels really strange. I am completely against the idea of her making friends directly over the internet. A penpal site would be find but it can be hard to find people with specific intrests. |

Question: Am I a posh ****? Will I be eaten alive at college? Posted: 05 Sep 2016 11:57 AM PDT Hi, I just started college (in England, so the equivalent of year 12) and I'm not particularly rich - I don't have a big house or anything - but one year for christmas my parents saved up to buy me an apple computer. I'm used to going to school with rich kids that have more money than me but now that I'm going to college I'm worried that people aren't going to speak to me any more if they see my computer and think I'm a posh **** (my south England accent doesn't help). Does this make me a ****? Does it matter? Pls help... :( |

Question: I feel like I'm losing my best friend, what should I do? Posted: 05 Sep 2016 11:27 AM PDT My best friend and I used to hang out all the time, but we didn't as much over the summer. Now we hardly ever do. He also just seems less interested in talking to me sometimes. We've both gotten super busy with work and school, which is part of it, but it seems like we never make time to hang out. We still talk and text a lot, but not as much as we used to. What can I do to make sure we don't drift apart? |

Question: She showed her friends her gift? Posted: 05 Sep 2016 10:50 AM PDT I made a special handmade personal gift for my close friend of mine, it was 200 reasons I love you jar. She showed all of her friends and said they all loved it. Should I feel happy she showed her friends, like, do you think she liked it personally? They are all big critics |
Question: Am I wrong? Should I apologize? Posted: 05 Sep 2016 10:39 AM PDT My best friend and I recently had an argument. I have finals coming up soon so I decided to join extra classes during the summer. I took up a 3 month course. I attended classes each day (except for sundays) for about 2-3 hours. I arrived tired and barely had any time to cover the syllabus for my upcoming exams. My best friend wanted join another class 1 month before the exams and I promised to join it as well. Well, today was the first day of these classes, and I realized that she had lied to me that we wont be receiving any homework and that i'd have plenty of time to study (Basically why I joined it + I did not want her to be alone) So today I got large amounts of homework which would take me a long time to complete (about 4-5 hours). If i spend most of my time doing this homework and even attending these classes, then I wouldnt have time to study the topics myself. My friend actually did not attend any summer classes therefore she managed to study the entire syllabus. Whereas, i am left with quite a lot. So I explained to my friend that it was not possible for me to come anymore as I had to spend my time studying now as I have a lot to cover and even apologized several times and she, instead of trying to understand me, said i was selfish and made me feel like complete utter ****. She blamed me for not informing her earlier, I would have never agreed to attend these classes if she had told me the truth. Now she stopped talking and will only talk If I come. Am i wrong? @Steve Yes, you are right, I should have not relied on her but I never really thought that my best friend of 5 years would lie to me like this just so I would attend classes with her and she wouldn't have to be alone. |
Question: Is it okay to hang out with someone who's 19 if I'm 14? Posted: 05 Sep 2016 10:22 AM PDT My friend is turning 20 in a few months but I'm only 14. My mom is okay with it and my dad doesn't care because he's too busy working. We're not dating nor having sex and we're both girls. |

Question: My friend lies to me! Help? Posted: 05 Sep 2016 10:09 AM PDT What pisses me off is that he tells me he never lies to his friends even though he has done it to me! Anyways he sometimes tells me he is busy and cant text yet I check his Snapchat and see how much he has Snapchatted and I see him always sending snaps. Also he once told me he was going to bed and before I went to bed too, I checked his snaps and they were at 3,028 and then when I woke up in the morning his snaps were at 3,056. This really makes me sad and angry. Should I comfort him and tell him how I feel? |
Posted: 05 Sep 2016 09:49 AM PDT I'm very mature for my age, I'm a senior and I'm 17 my best friends cut me off, don't talk to me anymore or when they do it's not the same, or one of them will only contact me to cover her shift for her.. so I don't smoke or drink I just see no benefit in it and one of the girls Raylenn has been doing it and the other girl Morgan is a follower and now smokes and drinks because she wants to follow Raylenn because she gets all the boys. I'm a very outgoing, well known, nice person but I don't smoke or drink. It hurts me knowing my "friends" don't even want anything to do with me anymore because of what? Since I don't do that? But how come they can't hang out with me when they don't do that? I was there for them, I would stay up with them if they cried over a boy, I would do anything for them because they were my best friends, how they repayed me was ending the friendship when I never wanted to let go. It's probably best to let go, but how will it get easier? |
