My brother told me this today and I had no idea how to respond. He said this because I didn't do my homework and decided to skip first per. and come in late to avoid embarrassment (stupid, and irresponsible I'm aware). And then he proceeded to called me a failure (in a around about way) but also contradicted himself when he said that I could drop out and get my GED. I'm not saying that makes you a failure, But it just doesn't make sense for him to say that. What he doesn't understand is that I'm depressed (and slightly suicidal) and it's hard to get things done. If you've never been depressed you may not understand this but it makes it really hard to focus and get things done for some. My dad condoned my decision to come in after first period, which made my brother say that my dad was irresponsible. My dad doesn't really understand that he has to put his foot down to make me do things because, being the younger sibling I was never told how to do things, I just had them done for me. Yet I still take FULL responsibility for being somewhat helpless. So whenever I have to do something by myself my anxiety goes through the roof and I end up not doing it. I'm a junior in high school and I'm in accelerated English but I'm still in Algebra because I switched school districts and my old district spreads it over two years. Then they threw me into a class that was doing something totally different and I failed. I just feel like a bad sister for making him feel like he has to "parent" me

I will try to keep this short. My parents have always asked me if I smoked weed, I always lied and said no. I am a college student and recently got possession of weed, paraphernalia, and 3.5 Xanax pills. Because I live far away I have to call my parents which makes this even more difficult since they don t even know I have ever used any drug. What are suggestions for going about this? How do I initiate the phone call and how am I able to bring up that I had drugs on me and got into trouble.

When I was in university, I had a younger sister and our age gap was 16 years and I barely got to spend any time with her because I was either in school or at the library. I spent Christmas with my family and I noticed my sister was sick. My parents told me that she has this condition that affects a small population. I knew she didn't have much time so I called my university and asked if it was possible for me to to stop university and repeat the year. My mom insisted that I go back to university and that my sister is getting treatment. Little did I know,my sister was placed in a hospice and when she passed away I didn't know until I got a phone call from my aunt talking about funeral arrangements. My parents didn't grief and continued with their lives until we would do family counselling and my mom would continuously blame me. I hated myself for the longest time for not spending time with my sister. I know losing sibling is difficult but losing a child must be heartbreaking. My mother has tried to ruin my relationship with my husband several times. She continuously tried to set me up when I was dating and even engaged to my husband with this guy who sexually assaulted me when I was a teen. The last time I went to my parents' home she called the police on my husband for domestic abuse. She didn't even ask me how I got those bruise and just assumed the worst. My husband has a heart of gold and the thought of him hurting me made him very upset. She repeatedly said to me that she wished it was me who died instead of my sister. I am not sure why she doesn't like my husband but she has mentioned his background to me once so I am guessing she's just racist. I am not sure what the hell to do with her because I feel so vulnerable when I am with her. I just feel like cutting her out off my life. Do you have any tips?

My mom hoards stuff and it is very irritating. Our apartment space is getting smaller and stuffy. She hoard plastic food containers and canned food we never eat. She also hoards stuff from her friends who moved away. She also hoard calendars (old and current). She has a lot of shoes (shoes she bought and old shoes people wore and give to her). Everyone in our family is very frustrated. We keep telling her to throw away useless stuff, but she won't listen and yell at us. She yells at us and just wouldn't throw away the stuff.

I have a 16 year old little sister who has been sick for the past two weeks. This morning my father came into her room and she asked if she could stay home from school because she was sick. Without checking her temp. or asking any questions he yelled no and slammed the door and left. This will be the 4th time this year that she will be staying home sick. I decided to take it upon myself to see if she was faking or if she was really sick. She had a fever and a cough, sore throat, and stuffy nose. Plus bad stomach pains which she had complaining about for 2 weeks and had been taking pepto bismal for. I told her that she should stay home because she was sick and she went to bed. My dad got mad and texted her that since she was staying home she wouldn't be allowed to see her boyfriend for 2 weeks as a punishment. Even if she felt better by tomorrow She wouldn't be able to see him for 2 weeks. So her being a hormonal teenager and already out of it from being sick, texted our dad back that he wasn't being fair and that she just wanted to kill herself because he cared more about punishing her than taking her to a doctor, etc. He texted back "Thank you. I have a meeting at your school. And I'll make sure to show them this. Have a great day" My sister admitted to me that it was wrong of her to say that she wanted to kill herself but that she was mad. I don't think my father was fair to issue a punishment for being sick. Was it fair?

She's 5 and I'm a single dad. She has a bed, but usually prefers to sleep on the floor with our 2 dogs( 2 big st. Bernards) because she likes hugging them when she sleeps. so i Just turned 18 and i have a seasonal job right now and im not making much. My mother insists on me paying 200$ a month (maybe if i had a full time or part time job...but it's seasonal. My mom has depression and our family has had it rough as far as money goes. We have section 8 so we only pay 450$ for our apartment. we have an EBT getting around 280-340$ for food each month she works one or two days a week as a substitute teacher (unless she doesnt feel like it) she has a job as a house cleaner for inhome for her mother (she gets money for it but barely actually cleans the house (once every 2-3 months)she gets about 800$ a month i think. She has always been borrowing money from she since a young age and gives it back to me like a year later. So my relationship about money with her is not very good. I agree about paying rent but i think both of us should agree on a price but she refuses. I think its unfair for me to give half a month of hard work to her while im saving for a car and college while she basically gets free money for work she doesnt do (Inhome), $800 off rent, around 300$ for food. and works only 1-2 days a week. *Again i do agree to pay rent... but i need to have a say right? I also cant just move out.. i live in san diego the cheapest i could get would be $350 with 3-4 other roomates. I know $200 isnt bad at all but it wouldnt work well for me and it's not like we have alot of bills (no car payment, water bill or anything)

I go to college and I struggled a lot non of my parents help me to solve my problems I have to personally go and do things on my own because my parents are not involved. On the other hand, my sister who happens to be daughter of another father gets treated differently by my mother she gives her all the money that she can and never once throws her on her face on the meantime if I borrow money oh hell its loose ... My father pays for everything and she is very stingy with her money ... I just don't understand why I get treated differently she said only because I have a father and my sister doesn't but that's a lie ... I found out through my sister that her father also helps her... Also when my mother gets drunk she gets violent it bothers me so much and it angers me since I have seen her since I was 12 years old doing this and she doesn't want to change at all and she have been years on this ... I'm dating a girl who has three kids. Two of the three are twins. Her children's father hardly does anything with either and doesn't pay child support for any of three but will occasionally take the oldest child to chuck e cheese or buy him some clothes while the two younger ones ,the twins, never get any interactions from him. I personally don't understand how you can be there for the oldest and not the twins. It could be that they are both still in diapers, but they can walk, and the other one is in 1st grade. I don't won't to give her the wrong advice but I think that you should do for ALL of YOUR kids or don't bother until you realize that's what you should do. Or should she continue to let him see the oldest one and not the younger twins?

I saw a mother who is in her like late 30s sitting with two little girls like age 10 years old and 4 years old and this at burger king. The two girls were saying the F word in front of their mother and the mother didn't even say anything. Seriously? My parents would yell at me and not to say curse words. They are spending less money on us and limiting money we can spend like allowance and things. Because they decided to have another baby because my mom really wanted a girl. The baby is a boy so they failed. Now they have 4 boys and they're denying us older ones things. They told my 18 year old brother to start looking for a job. He called me at 2 in the morning to tell me how his ex was stalking him. He said he had to flag down the police. She threw a drink on him and even ripped up a shirt he left at her place and left it hanging on his front gate. He told me had her blocked on fb and in his phone. While we were lying in bed last night I noticed his phone vibrating and her name popped up. I said, I thought you told me you had her blocked? He looked stunned and said you need to understand that I need to talk to her in order to square the situation away. I called her phone number and handed him the phone. He then got upset and was going to leave my place because I called her. I couldn't understand why he was so upset if he wasn't seeing her anymore. Then she text me her call log showing me that he had called her 4 times before he got to my place. He ended up staying the night. When I got work the next morning she text me saying, "Please keep this door away from my door". What kind of person stalks their so called stalker? How should I feel? What should I do at this point? I told him I knew he had contacted her again...I need advice please!!

I was watching a show about 9-11 last night. My sister didn't like it. It made her sad. She was only 8 almost 9 at the time she was too little to know what was going on. She doesn't even remember where she was or what she was doing that day. She feels bad she doesn't remember it. She learned about it as she got older but she's heard different stories of it it's so confusing to her it upsets her. She's 23 now it still makes her upset and angry. She has the World Trade Center movie she wants to watch it tonight. She said she wants to spend the whole day with me. She has horse riding lessons tonight and she has to go to rehersal for her play she wants me to go with her. I don't usually go but she wants me to today. She wanted me to cuddle with her this morning. She gave me a big hug when she woke up I asked her why she did that she said just because she loves me. She's never been this attached to me before. If it were just me I would move on but my parents will be so depressed that any family celebration will be ruined (Christmas, summer vacation, family weddings, etc....). I know another family this happened to after a suicide of a child. It was 5 years before they started functioning. My brother is 22 and hangs out with losers and does drugs. I fear he will die before 30. I think he is just as likely to die in the next year as my health 91 year old grandmother. So what do I do? How do I say "oh well, it sad but can't let it get to me" if he does die when my parents won't be functioning? It is like they will die with him.

Last night i stayed up till 3am and i had to go to school at 7 am (not gonna lie not the best thing to do) My grandma told me i should go to bed and i said look i just wanna play video games for a little (i said it nice not mean ok) So eventually i go to bed and wake up due to my alarm at 6:15 am and i decide to go back to sleep because my grandma wakes me up at 6:30. But then i wake up at ******* 8:00am and i called her because she goes to work at 7:45, and she said how she tried to wake me up and my aunt called me aswell. WHEN MY FAMILY DAMN WELL KNOWS IM A HEAVY SLEEPER. Then my grandma is like "I gotta talk to u tonight about this" That automatically let me know that she didnt try to wake me up. I know my grandma and she always wanna be right. This is the funny part. So about 20min ago im on my phone watching youtube and i decide to check my alarms for no reason. My Grandma put an alarm for 10:00am.....SCHOOL ISNT AT 10 DAMMIT. My grandma isnt stupid she knew what she was doing. Sorry that im so pissed but im in highschool and my classes are 1234 then the next day is 5678 and it goes back to 1234. So now im going to miss 1234 lessons today and im in 11th grade. I know i would have woke up she just didnt try at all, I know she didnt. Im so pissed because i know she tried to prove herself right so she didnt wake me up. Plus she set an alarm at ******* 10am. Then shes gonna try and flip this situation on me like if i did all the wrong. Im so pissed what should i do? Should i just ignore her while she talks to me or bring up how she set an alarm clearly at 10am and didnt even try to wake me up because she wanted to be right? Sorry for the long situation, im really pissed and i didnt want make-up work. By the way if i say she just wanted to be right and all that shes gonna lie and say no no its all u. Question: I'm Muslim and my brother caught me masturbating?

I'm muslim and I'm 14 years old. My oldest brother (19yrs) caught me masturbating. He didn't fully see me but he knew and shouted at me and said he's going to tell my sister (25yrs) and was debating on wether to tell my parents or not. Masturbation is haram but I'm teenager and sometimes I can't stop the urges. My other brother (16) caught me before and he told my oldest brother but he said he doesn't want to catch me doing it again. My oldest brother was really angry but it was night and he said he'll shout at me more in the morning. He still hasn't woken up and I'm really scared and worried, what do I do?

Am I a terrible person? When it happened an hour ago, I cried briefly. But then I got this overwhelming feeling of fear and now I am petrified that I will see her ghost/spirit. I swear to God this is not a troll. And I am alone, in another state. She died 2,000 miles away. I have no friends either and no one is awake right now. So that is why I am posting this on Yahoo Answers like the piece of crap I probably am. How can I stop being afraid of seeing her ghost and actually feel the grief I'm supposed to feel?

We had a fight like a week ago. after high school, I was accepted into a pre-med program and was all set on the long path to become a doctor. then my father passed away. As the oldest I left school so I could take care of my mother who was a housewife and my younger brothers and sisters. They are old enough now to start focusing on their own lifes, but as for my mother she recently had a stroke. She has gotten better to the point that we recently had a very deep conversation where she told me how she regrets that I had to leave school to take care of her and I never got to finish it. Now while I still appreciate the world of medicane at this point of my life (im 27) im seriously thinking about going into film making a lifelong desire of mine. My only concern is that I would not make enough money to support myself and my mother such as my current position affords and a career in medicine would. But while I know I would be good at being a doctor my heart would not be into it. I want to be a film maker so badly, does anyone have any thought?

I'm now 21 and I have a dead beat father not only a dead beat father but does spiteful things. Like leaving nails under the tire of my car. Not being petty I just hate his ways. Throughout my childhood he hardy wasn't there not for my graduation or nothing and don't mention about my birthday my birthday don't mean **** to him. I would celebrate his birthday all the time and get him something but me he doesn't give a **** about me wouldn't even ******* call to at least say "Happy Birthday". This past year I didn't do **** for his birthday or for Father's Day because also that's not only the point he also treated my mother like ****. She recently died from liver caner and there is just too much going on for me. My father has a new girlfriend and not only is in love with her but trying to have her as my new mom and in fact he was on the phone the other day and he was saying to me "I'm talking to your mom." I walked away because I was full of rage I would probably do something I'll may regret later. Sorry this is just something that has been inside of me and I just needed to let it out somewhere. Recently my sis who is 17 has been acting very strange. For a month or so she has been leaving like at 5:00 pm and has been coming back near 5 am. She tells nobody where she is going.
