When I bought my first mascara she said i could only wear it on the weekends. I usually only spend my weekends with my family, I have to buy my own clothes but I didn't just waste my money to wear cute stuff for my family. Um helloooo I don't care what they think of my outfits. Im not even gonna lie, I want to wear nice clothes to fit in with my friends and the crowds at school. I cant do that wearing knee high shorts. Dont give me that crap about friends like you for who you are. Im not looking for real friends im looking for good times. I will leave real friends for when I need them. I dont have any problems besides this one right now so I only need my family to trust but they are so annoying. Also we are having this end of year thing and we are going to six flags. My mom wont let me go because I told her there was this guy I liked and then I was like hey mom I'm going bowling with some friends, I didn't tell her my bae was going and then she found out cause freaking whatever his name's parents told my mom and she was really mad and she said no more going out for you. What cuz? Im not even talking to guys anymore because of that. I'm a high honors student I swear but she doesn't give a crap anymore. The whole guy problem thing was like in February. Woman get over it… Anyway I need advice. This week i've been changing right before first period into my short shorts but its getting annoying since I have to carry my lacrosse stuff on top of everything else. We talked before we came in and she was nice but when she saw my other friends she started acting liking a total ***** towards me. Calling me a "*****", stealing my glasses after I told her no, and telling my entire class I had a D in Algebra(which I plan on getting back up). The worst part was when she told my friend something I said about another friend after she promised me she wouldn't say anything. I didn't say anything that bad, just that this friend was shallow because she read Fifty Shades of Grey. It just really hurts me that my friend broke this promise she made to me and betrayed my trust. What makes it even worse is that before she even said I begged her not to and I told her that if she did I would spill all her secrets. I also told her that if she did say it I would never talk to her again but she said, "Oh please you know you'll forgive me." I just don't know what to do because she is great a majority of the time, but I'm just tired of this disrespect. |

Last year, I decided to put a stop to it, and when anyone slights me, I let them know. This has caused multiple friendships to disintegrate dramatically. I recognise that this is probably not the best way to go - I am losing friends faster than I am making them - but I have now got the idea that I deserve to give people a piece of my mind, and that they need to know. I think there must be some sort of happy medium between setting them straight and letting bygones be bygones. Can anyone help me figure out what reaction is suitable to what? When not to say anything, and when to say something, and if it's ever okay to get angry at a friend and express that anger? I legitimately have no idea. I feel that a lot of my friends have actually been horrid to me and I feel no desire to be kind to them, but no matter what I think I deserve, I feel like I have to say things that will bring me peace and not antagonise them and cause them to lash out, whilst still retaining my own dignity...but I don't know what those are. help! |

We go to a good college, just telling you this for what I'm about to say. So, my roommate "Mariana" and I are pretty good friends. She at first seemed really funny, and good natured. She can be bitchy sometimes, but all in all, she's a pretty good friend and we like hanging out. She has a darker side. She uses a lot of drugs. I haven't seen anyone drink like her, or smoke as much. She sleeps around a lot too. It's kind of gross. anyway, Mariana's Mexican.She's here on a scholarship, for kids with incomes below the poverty line.She told me,until she was 7, she lived with her mom, from 8-12 she lived with her dad, and 12+ she lived with her aunt. She hates her aunt, and dad. Her aunt tried to call once, Mariana cussed her out. She doesn't talk to her dad at all. Her dad is in prison for 25 years. Her mom is in a mental institution, but she likes her mom for some reason. Mariana has the worst nightmares out of anyone I've ever seen. She screams at the top of her lungs, "STOP!" Every night. She wakes up absolutely sobbing. One time I went into he room and she was sobbing so hard she couldn't breathe or walk, and threw up in the toilet. It wasn't the drugs. She throws up at weird hours, like 3 am for no reason, she just said she gets so scared she pukes. I've tried to wake her up in the morning, and on instinct, she punched me in the face. She apologized, of course. She also has a sister, who isn't doing too well. She got pregnant at 15. |

I'm a 15 year old girl and I realized recently that I only have one true friend who is a guy. My other close friend has started the turn on me. I'm really bad at sensing people who are fake. But I'm very sensitive and find it hard to approach my friends when I sense a big communication problem in our friendship. I have a handful of acquaintances who I hang out with at school and occasionally text (but usually I text them first). My guy friend has told me that I'm a genuine, one of the few girls in our school that isn't dramatic, quirky in a good way and a fun person to be around. But how can I find people that have similar personalities to me. Everytime I think I have found a genuine person they backstab me and it hurts because I put a lot of effort into my friendships, setting up times to hang out, buying food for my friends, listening to their problems and putting a lot of thought into my friends' birthday and holiday gifts. I just feel like my guy friend is the only person who does the same. |

She copies my snapchat stories often too. One time she made it too blatantly obvious. I posted a video of me and my friends doing something and she was one of the first people to check it. She was w her friends too and not even 15 minutes later she posted a story of her doing the exact same thing. i was really annoyed & had to say something so I snapchatted her "wow! i♡ur story it's so original!". usually on the rare times when I do call her out she either gets really defensive or plays innocent. This time she said "what?" And then blocked me on snapchat the next day. I asked her y she did that the next time I saw her & she said "bc I don't wanna see ur annoying snaps(in a joking but not rlly tone)". if I buy a certain type of jewelry/clothes she buys the same thing right after and flaunts it to our other friends right in my face like she discovered them. if I whisper a comment that's weird or funny to her she repeats it super loudly like the attentionwhore she is and everyone laughs. idk if I shud be flattered I'm just so done w her copying me and trying to take credit & acting like she doesn't know what she's doing? what should I do? He got me into playing a game called Magic The Gathering. In late January he started to punch me hard, push me into a bush and call me a *****, and I don't like it, than I got tired one day and typed a big note saying that all of the stuff that he has been doing to me is bad and wrote about a 1 page on that. He stopped for a while, well punching me, a few weeks later he started to insult me again and he would say "you're not my friend anymore" and "boom *****" and "you can't do this" and other mean stuff like that, than he started to punch me again. So he went inside and he came back out and he promised to God that he wouldn't punch me again, but yet he still does it, I've tried everything except have a huge talk with him about all of the stuff he's done to me, and I'm at the edge of saying "**** it" he means everything to me. If you say "avoid him,get away from him" I will probably not select you as the best answer, I also don't want a Consuler, or talk to my parents about it. I really need help, please respond as fast as possible I don't want to break up this relationship between us. |

So weeks later when 'it" was supposed to come again she was all moody and i told her she changed to some stuck up a**..probably a bad idea, but this time i told her how she changed and she said do you want to be my friend? and of course i said ya, and she said then stop criticizing and i was about to cry, no i wasnt sad, tears of rage. I wanted to smack the sh*t out of her, but i didnt. So that was a friday...we play soccer and i havent been going cause....personal stuff... ad that was for 2 weeks, she was pissed at that but hey, its not my fault! This is my first year in high school and this is also the first year I haven't gotten on the honor role. At my school you get on if you have an average above a B, but in french I got a B- for the first term so I didn't qualify for the high honors award. This was only because of 1 test that I failed because I confused all of the verb endings, but I didn't tell anyone about the tests so they assume that I'm getting an award. I also didn't get any subject awards (a bunch of my friends are going to get them), so I wasn't invited to the school award ceremony. All of my friends keep talking about carpooling and the event in general and it is kind of upsetting to me because I feel bad that I didn't qualify and that I was the only one. I am generally seen as one of the smartest kids in the school, but I am really not. I am always the one of my friends that does the worst on a test, even if it's just a 95 instead of a 100, but I feel like if I told them when I get a A-/B that they will think I am stupid. They are the people that get perfect grades and skip grades in classes, but I never do; I only skipped a grade in science and a lot of people do that at my school, so it isn't that big of an accomplishment. I'm scared to tell them about not going to the ceremony, and I have already told two of them that I was just too busy to go. Please Help Me! |

And although my parents allow me to go the mall, Starbucks movies adn the park with my friends, the one thing they dont allow me to do is go to my friends houses. I've been told hundreds of times by my parents that its a culture thing. And i know for sure it doesnt have to do with them being afraid of the men at my friends house, considering my best friend's dad is always travelling for work and she lives with her mom and older sister. I am extremely grateful for the fact they let me go out and have fun, but sometimes I want to visit my friends in their homes and i feel bad when i always shoot them down. they've told me that its like my parents don't trust there family. and idk what to tell them so any advice on what to do would be greatly appreciated. |

Have you forgotten them? Would you be happy to reconnect with them? If they sent you a message via Facebook, etc. would you feel like they are a weirdo for contacting you after all those years? Longer story: I feel like I'm stuck in the past. I'm 31 and still often think about my friends during childhood (elementary and early middle school days.) Even though I haven't seen some of them in like 15 to 20 yrs, they are still friends in my head and I feel like they are family. I used to smile when thinking of them, BUT... Anyways, years ago, I sent two of them messages on MySpace and the reactions from them made me feel bad. They spoke back, but it wasn't with any sort of emotion. One did seem a bit excited, still referring to me as her best friend during childhood, but we exchanged about 3 messages and that was it. I ended up regretting sending the messages and feeling sort of down, because I thought we'd pick up where we left off, but ended up feeling uncomfortable and foolish. I know everyone is different and people change. I can think of about 50+ more people I grew up with, who I had deep bonds with back then, but have decided to not even take the chance of contacting them, because who knows if any of them are the same either. I know where he lives but in 2 years he might have moved to another country or something. His family is going through a crisis and can't afford alot. So he isn't able to get on social media and there is a chance he moved back to his home country. I've been crying about never seeing him again and dreaming about us hanging out together like back then, but then i wake up again in tears. I just don't know what to do. I ve only made a few close friends, and I feel that everyone I do meet is not interested in becoming a friend of mine. A neighbor of mine my age has wronged me since I was a little kid, so I stopped being friends with him about 6 years ago. Since we were little kids, he has said and done nasty thing to me and told lies about me to other people. Also, I broke up with a girl a few months ago, because she told me two days before a school dance that she wasn t going, even after planning for it. Cancelling reservations and things like that took an entire week. Ever since then, all of her friends that I formerly talked to completely cut themselves off from me, and have ignored me in the hallways, blocked me on social media, etc. What should I do to have other people see me in a positive light? Also, sorry if this sounded bitchy. Thank you for your time. |

I even have friends over seas (I write on FanFiction and I have met a lot of people through there.) I don't know, I just feel like there is something more for me, a tiny part still is empty. But recently she has had a bit of an attitude. She exited all of her group chats that had me in it. She just got a boyfriend from her old school and hangs out with him a lot. I asked her to hang out. But she has been pretty busy lately. So I asked her to tell me when she is free, but she kind of snapped at me. She has made more friends in the district. I ask her if I have done anything to her that upset her or if she needs space, but she says no she's fine. She hangs out after school with me everyday even though I told her she doesn't have to. Another thing I noticed is she has started to bail on our weekend plans at last minute. What should I do? I'm confused as to if she cares because she's giving me mixed signals because if she really didn't want to be friends she would pay no attention to me at all like not stay after school with me or text me. I tend to over analyze a lot of things that are said or done to me too, so maybe I am overthinking this. |

ALSO, all my friends have been dating their boyfriends/girlfriends for a while and are looking to settle down. SOME are even married and have kids. I feel like I've accomplished nothing compared to them...which is crazy because I did so much better than them in high school. I graduated with honors but couldn't go to college because I couldn't receive financial aid and I didn't have the money to pay for it. I barely started college and only going for a certificate. Then for my social situation.Last year my gf of 5 years broke up with me.And I haven't met anyone cuz im always at work or school.AND I have no confidence because I have weigh and acne issues. So basically, I have no friends.I'm not where I want to be. I'm not where I thought I'd be when I was a senior in high school.I feel like i'm failing at life while everyone else is excelling... |

Posted: 04 May 2015 01:10 PM PDT My friend was at school this morning, and I was talking to him because he changed, hes not the same person anymore. He was really upset and I know he is depressed. He told me he changed because he wanted to stop cutting and thinking of suicide. But today during lunch his friends couldnt find him anywhere. I already called the suicide hotline and they told me I should call the police. (btw me and him go to different schools) I want to call the police but im worried if my parents find out ill get in big trouble involving in things like that. Plus what if he wanted to be alone at lunch so he just went somewhere where his friends couldnt find him, but hes still on campus. What should I do? i think he may try to kill himself. Weve had these conversation before but he never actually tried killing himself, he just thought about it. Plus I cant contact him because his phone is off. What would be the best thing to do? |

We tell each other everything that has to do with everything in our lives. She is my only best friend, but i do have other close friends, although i consider her the ONE AND ONLY best friend. so the problem is... She is a good person (this is not the problem, hear me out first) and everybody likes her. She has a few close friends too. But the difference between me and her is that she calls them best friends too. When they tag her in pics saying how thankful they are for her, she is like 'you're my other half, together we can take over the world' etc... i sound jelouse as hell... but... is it only me or, i should seriosly get a new best friend? :/ this is so messed up... (first world problems) You know when we write long *** facebook statuses about how good of a best friend they are?... then she writes almost the same stuff she tells other people. But i know she doesnt hang with them as much she does with me. I dont know... maybe im being a paranoid idiot. This situation is like a bf/gf thing... instead we're best friends (we're both girls and no im not in love with her lol but i adore her as my bestie!!) Posted: 04 May 2015 01:04 PM PDT I'm a 19 year old guy, I wear normal clothing, normal hair, normal face, normal height, normal weight etc you get the picture..I also weight lift 4 days a week so I have a moderate amount of muscle tone. Anyway... it seems like people are always laughing at me and making fun of me whenever I go out in public. Like today, it was a beautiful day outside, I was in a good mood, just casually walking to my class. And then these two black dudes who were passing me on the oncoming side of the walkway just start whispering to each other and looking at me and laughing at me. wtf? I did absolutely nothing to deserve that. This kind of sh** has been happening to me my entire life. It really peaked in middle school, where it would happen every day, but it still happens every once in a while. I know not everybody will treat me nicely in life, but it seems like a huge number of people either make fun of me, laugh at me, or are just flat out rude to me. Like wtf is wrong with me? What did I do to deserve this? |
