I came home for the summer from grad school and I feel like im going crazy. All my friends got internships in ny and cali and all these glamorous places. I struggled to find something and it ended up being remote so I just came home for the summer. I don't have a car and mom's retired so she sits at home and tells me about the news all day. I'm going absolutely crazy being stuck in the house and seeing everyone have fun on instagram. Any advice to make me feel less crazy? Edit: Sorry didn't make this clear. I'm doing a remote internship so I am working im just stuck in the house 4 days a week. EDIT: I HAVE A JOB. But my job doesn't allow me to leave my house during work hours. Also I applied for some part time jobs and they all said I was over qualified.

I am 24/M and brother is 30/M. He makes way more money than me. So we decide to go grocery shopping and end up buying a lot of food to last the whole week. Ended up costing $100+ so I send him money to pay my share but he insists to just use my card to pay for everything.. So Iater on I explain that I'm broke hoping he would pay his share of the bill but he just gives a long *** speech how I need to watch what I'm spending etc.. After we make the food he takes half of it and I take my half. He says he wants to do it again and I say sure, as long he pays for it next time. Then he insists that we can split the bill next time.. like wtf. Didn't even thank me at all. The same night he buys an expensive air conditioner. What should I do ? Why did he do that ? I was thinking not to hang with him anymore for a bit. I'm so mad and that was rude of him. TL;DR - Went grocery shopping with brother, he didn't help me pay for anything. And took half of the food.

I am 23 years old, a RN and just recently moved out of my parent's house 2 months ago. I currently have a boyfriend of over a year, & I know he is the love of my life. I don't want to lose him. He has a good paying job and I know if anything were to happen to me, he would be there to take care of me. Moved out because: 1. At 23, my parents were giving me a curfew of midnight (same curfew I had in HS) 2. There was too much strain in the relationship between my parents and I 3. I was unable to take weekend trips with friends or even my boyfriend 4. My parents went through my personal belongings and read private information 5. I wanted more independence The issue is that I love my family so much and would do anything for them; however, the same goes for my boyfriend. The issue came out when a series of events occurred with my family judging and excluding my boyfriend. 1. They looked up his pay online and made comments about how he does not make enough (he is 23 as well and makes well above the average) 2. My mom has asked intrusive questions about his personal life (how many people has he slept with, etc.) 3. They excluded him from Christmas dinner this past year because he "isn't family" (he moved from another state and has no family here) 4. The continue to exclude him from family gatherings (7 in a year) There is another family vacation, he is excluded & he does not want me to go. I am unsure what to do because I do not want to cause any rift between my family or boyfriend. Additional info I have grown up doing what my parents have wanted and told me/suggested me to do, so saying no to them has been very difficult to do. I have began to distance myself from them and put more focus on my boyfriend and our relationship, so it can progress to the next level. His family has taken me under their wing and has included me in everything. I know he is hurt from the numerous things my family has done (more than just listed), but do I back out of this trip to keep him? More info He is not my first boyfriend and my parents have treated my ex's the same way before and I foresee them treating any other guy the same way. But unlike the others, I can see a future and want a life with this man I am currently with.

First of all I am a 22yo student. I was planning to take a job this summer at least for a month after my college exams, so I wont waste my parents money. Apparently I won a bet, and right now I have enough money to spend my summer. Their reaction was not that positive and they told me that they are disappointed for the fact that I dont want to work anymore. I turned 17 almost 5 months ago. My dad wants to change my service plan to one that let's him receive all my texts and let's him monitor my phone and with the new plan he wants to switch to that option is offered. My dad has never done this before in my entire life. Now that I'm a teenager about to be an adult it makes me uncomfortable and I think it's wrong for him to want to read through messages and see what I do on my phone. Is it wrong for a parent to want to invade a teenagers privacy like that?

I met this guy. We really didn't text that much and I planned to cut it off because I didn't feel interested. But then I thought give his in real life personality a chance. Throughout life, my mother has not been a nice person to me. She's not a horrible person, she just doesn't have it in her to like or love me. She grew up through the war in a family with too many children and parents who didn't love each other and this is some of the background that is at the root of her feelings towards me. I've tried working with her on it throughout the years, but I am coming to the realization that this is who she is. I love her, because she is my mom and because she is not a completely horrible person; she adores my older brother, but I know there is no way to win her favor and I've spent most of my life feeling worthless because of it. My sister is 26. She went into a yelling fight in the hotel room cause my Dad asked her to put my toothpaste in her check in back for the flight home. I had carried it on my carry on as we flew out to San Francisco for the wedding but the airport took it (I did not know the security rule on that). Screams at the top of her lungs (like someone is dying) if something mildly inconvenient happens (single sock on the ground, someone didn't put a dish in the dishwasher, etc. ) Calls me "abusive" out of no where Calls me a brat out of no where Yelled at my brother and I (we were being completely quiet, not making any noise, weren't even in the same room as her) for being ungrateful. My dad came out of the bathroom today and said to me he is changing my phone plan next month so that every message I receive goes straight to his phone. I turned 17 almost 5 months ago. My brother in law has cell phone store.There is a luxury beauty salon near his store.The owner of that beauty salon came to his store and told him tell your wife come to my salon.Then my sister went there.She did a double process hair color,haircut and style for free.She said this is the first time you are coming here I do not charge you.Then she went for the second time, she did not charge again. what is going on ? But My brother in law says that he did not give any discount to her.She is just nice.

Okay, before you say "most definitely not" know that I come from a very small town where everybody at this age and even younger has one and does it. It's very common and kids evens do it in the school bathrooms. I'm a 15 year old girl and I'm very responsible, honors classes, good grades, 3 sports, and I've won a lot of awards. My family hosts a female foreign exchange student, and she's just 1 year older than me (16) and she has one. With any sort of stuff like this if she is caught she could get sent back to her country. My mom has found her juul in her bed cleaning one time and didn't say anything or punish her/tell anyone or even have a talk with her that it isn't okay. Just tonight, she took her juul out and was trading pods with my brother, in front of my mom. I don't want to defy my mother by getting one behind her back and I've asked her if I could get one responsibly under her supervision, and she always says no and said she would've beat my "a**" had the juul been found in my bed. I really don't think this is care. I also was raised in a family where everybody smokes/vapes.

Some recent things have made me question things. I know my parents love me, but they say some things that kind of bother me (mainly jokes like "you're such a girl" from my dad. I'm female). Things then took a turn for the worse a few months ago. I had college finals and that day was just hellish. I had anxiety for my tests and I lost my parents credit card (I didn't have any money on mine) when I got lunch. Which resulted in my mother screaming at me when I got home and she took my phone (I'm 19). The next day started off okay, but then she decided to look through my phone w/o permission. (I should have known tho. She said years prior that my phone was not my property). That's how she found out that me and my boyfriend were sleeping together. My parents completely exploded on me. Long story short, the hours of screaming (not exaggerating) consisted of "what are you gonna do? Slit your wrists because you can't have sex?" And "it wouldn't have made a difference if you stayed gone" etc. (I ran away months prior). After that, I went without food for about a week, I was forced to read the Bible from cover to cover, I had to hand write a 20 page paper on how I messed up, I had to clean the house at 5am every morning, I just got my phone back about a month ago (this went down in December), and I still haven't gotten my social media back. My best friend says that I'm in a bad situation and that I'm being straight up abused, but that's how my family has always been. What should I do?

We're both teens and pretty much we hardly ever talk to each other at all. I have no clue if this is normal or not when I think it's just cause we're teens and whatever but i see friends my age having good relationships with siblings and I'm thinking .. hmm not sure what to think. It was 10 years of fighting and now it's just never talking to each other. In fact I can't remember the last actual conversation or even a small chat we had. We're just polar opposites and it's so opposite we can barely talk without arguing so we just stay quiet. If I do talk to him, he will almost always find something to say to put me down.. it's like he's TRYING to put me down any chance he gets.
