Question: Long distance relationship question? Posted: 01 Jan 2018 07:34 PM PST I don't need to hear any crap about anyone's opinions on whether they work or not because i've been committed to the one I am in for 2 years and am planning to pop the question at the end of this year with this person who has already told me they would say yes. I'm not exactly a dummy. I know what a marriage consists of, the sacrifices that are to be made, the fights you will get in, the stress, the sleepless nights. To be quite frank, I realize parts of marriage and sometimes many of them can be a living hell that test your patience. To be more matter of fact, I have watched what works and what doesn't work and come from a dysfunctional family so I have a good vision of what I see working and always making sure that I am sacrificing and putting all my efforts into my spouse and my family that I create with them. I met this woman 2 years ago, a little more. I struggled bad with people here and went out of my way for a lot of people in person who had no intentions of doing the same for me. I learned the same lesson many times, and after I had called it quits and given up, this woman messaged me from a different country. I live in the U.S., her in Indonesia. We got to know each other. We both are 22 now, we were going on 20 when we met. She was 20, I was 19. I have in that time flown down 3 times in 2017 to meet her and we have formally spent time with each other in person and gotten to see qualities in each other that are both good and bad. We are willing and committed to work together to make the best marriage possible. She graduated college recently as a petroleum engineering student and I will be graduating here in August/September next year and be done. I work a full-time job now as a Corrections Officer and intend to be a probation or parole officer in the future which pays more and would be more something I wanna do. I make enough to support her in the months it will take for her to find a job. And I have never been so in love with someone in my life. I think about her constantly and I got one year to go, a little less more like 11 months until I can pop the question to her and fly down to do it. With school, work, the internship I have to take before I graduate, how do I keep myself mentally alright and deal with the pain of being without her for 11 more months, and that's not to count the 4-6 it will take to get the K1 visa approved. How would you guys approach that? She intends to move here. We have talked about how that would feel for her being away from her parents and I have every intention of getting her up there as often as possible to see them. We may end up moving to a whole 'nother state so I may not see mine anymore than she sees hers when all is said and done. But what we are doing is big. It is very big and to pull it off would be huge. I am Christian and have prayed so many times and pleaded for help on it. How do I hold myself together in this last stretch ? and stay mentally tough and smart? |
Question: How can I get my wife to start pulling her weight in our marriage? Posted: 01 Jan 2018 07:24 PM PST I started a new job last May. It happens to be a bit more time consuming than my previous job. We gave birth to our daughter about 18 months ago. During these past 7 months, I've had less free time than I have ever before in my life. This has led to a lot of stress, lost sleep, and consequently, weight gain. It doesn't help that I'm in my late 30s. Until 18 months ago, I was in great shape. I worked out almost daily and had a great body. I was teased a lot in high school for being pudgy and unathletic. When I got to college, I decided to do something about it. Since then, I have had a great body. I want it back. I have decided I am going to get back into working out daily, and that means a lot less time at home. My wife is a stay at home, and has help from her sister and parents who are all nearby. She has been working out all along. It's perfectly fair for me to do so. I will be gone from 7 AM until 9 PM Monday - Thursday, and from 7 AM until 6 PM Fridays. My wife is not OK with it, but I should have the right to be healthy, and she needs to just pull her weight. How can I get her to step up her game? |

Question: My wife tells me to go back to college? Posted: 01 Jan 2018 04:40 PM PST I left college 1 year before graduation. I was studying to be a computer engineer. Before graduating, I realized how much I hated it and I left. Now, i'm working as a security guard. It doesn't pay well, but at least, I'm not miserable. Now my wife wants me to go back to college and work as a computer engineer for the rest of my life. I told her how much I hated it, but she doesn't care. When I refused, she said I'm being selfish. Who exactly is being selfish? PS: we've been married for 2 years and we have a girl. |
Question: Is the best way to revenge against your rebound is to stay happily married? Posted: 01 Jan 2018 04:04 PM PST Because what exactly the point of all this??? |
Question: How do you rebuild your life at the age of 44 when you have nothing but bills? Posted: 01 Jan 2018 03:44 PM PST It seems as though my life has been moving in a backwards direction over the last 7 years. I am financially and emotionally bankrupt. I am educated yet I cannot find a job. Mentally unstable and this has cost me many good opportunities. The question now becomes, where do so go from here? How do I rebuild? Am Ito old to even think about rebuilding? |

Posted: 01 Jan 2018 01:17 PM PST Over a month ago my husband & I were at a local concert, with our young son. While there my husband ran into a young lady who works at his firm, when they first seen each other she said hey but said she was running off to the bathroom, when she got back she sat down & my husband walked up behind her & started rubbing her shoulders, made me feel extremely uncomfortable, then he like kneeled down to talk to her while she was sitting in a car, and they were having what seemed to be an extremely personal conversation. He did introduce her to me but he never introduced me as his wife. While the party was winding down I heard my husband say to her "Let's get dinner soon" & as she was leaving he said "Text me when you get home" Maybe I'm paranoid but all of these little things made me feel extremely uncomfortable at the time but I never approached my husband or said anything, I just let it go. Today I was snooping through my husbands phone & him & this same young lady were texting & he was wishing her a merry Christmas & then he asked her if she wanted anything for Christmas because it's the season of giving & he's feeling generous. I couldn't read the rest of the messages or the messages before because my husband entered the room. Should I approach him?? Is this one text enough to get upset about? My mind has been going back & forth all day, not sure what to do or think. My husband is 50 this young lady is barely 25 |

Question: Is it appropriate for someone to take a separate vacation form their significant other? Posted: 01 Jan 2018 12:22 PM PST You were invited to a wedding on a caribbean island of your best friend. Your significant other cannot afford to go and has to stay because they have a child to tend to and doesnt want to leave their child at home. You offer to pay their way but they still do not want to go because of their child. Is it ok for you to go without them? They have taken trips without you before but for different circumstances. |

Question: Should I give it a try ? Posted: 01 Jan 2018 11:57 AM PST Ok, long story short. I reconnected with my high school sweetheart who's been in and out of prison and now wants to turn his life around but I visited him today for New Years and he was sizing my finger up, mentioned several times whether I liked golden engagements rings and talking about having children and things like that. Lately his sister has tried to stay in touch with me and keeps asking me about how I'm doing and telling me happy birthday and silly things like that. Consider that we met when we were about 12 years old and now we're in our middle 20s. I used to visit him in the past but when he got out I freaked out and disappeared from his life, then he went back to prison. I went to college and dated around but that's it. Should I give it a try ? |
Posted: 01 Jan 2018 11:32 AM PST I am not abandoning my child. We have made our own agreement and did not want to include the courts. We just wanted the divorce. We have mutually agreed on everything concerning our child and his care. His time will be shared equally between us and we are both supporting him. Yet the courts demand that we name a non-custodial parent, even though we're sharing custody. I am not asking about lying. I am asking about from a legal perspective is it illegal to omit a child from the divorce paperwork |

Posted: 31 Dec 2017 07:14 PM PST She acts like I'm the bad guy for being pissed but I confronted her PRIVATELY over it. No, I was not happy. I felt disrespected and angry. But I told her straight up how I felt and why it was wrong and that she should have enough confidence in both herself and in me that she shouldn't feel the need to diss me for whatever reason. What gives? What should I do? I would NEVERRR diss her to her mom or family, I treat her like gold around them |
