Question: Why is everyone always so busy with friends with their lives? Posted: 15 Jan 2018 05:44 PM PST It seems everyone I know is always with friends, hanging out, going out for dinners, and just always busy. I'm feeling depressed because I don't have friends I can hang out with , if I'm not studying I'm working and if I'm not working I'm just sitting at home all day bored . Some days I just cry constantly because of it. I feel so ashamed , and when people ask me what I do for fun I can't even answer that . What can I do? :( |
Question: Is this coincidental or something more? Posted: 15 Jan 2018 05:18 PM PST my best friend and i have always thought of the same ideas together and things like that, but lately, we ve been saying the same exact thing word by word over text and snapchat. we think of the same exact thing and say it at the same exact time, and lately it s been getting more scarier. is this just coincidental, or is this something more? |
Question: Why didn't he wave back? Posted: 15 Jan 2018 04:49 PM PST I heard him talking to someone in the university hallway. When he passed by my class, I waved at him but he just put his hand on his mouth and quickly walked by. He didn't even wave back. Why is this? I'm sure he knows some other people in the class too. |
Question: Bestfriend Doesnt Want to be Cool Anymore? Posted: 15 Jan 2018 04:41 PM PST Apologize in Advance for it Being So Long So around this time last year (January), one of my closest school friends broke up with his on & off girlfriend for about 3 years and this time it was serious. A couple of months later in May, me and my friends ex, we ll call her Julie, start randomly dming each other & become very good friends. Julie pretty much became my sister and we started calling each other " bestfriends ". We held our bestfriendship for around 4 months and it was some of the best time of my life. We regulary facetimed & texted daily and often went to like parks and stuff together during this 4 month period. However, right before school started, my original friend, we ll call him Sam, decides to get back with his girlfriend. Despite both of them telling me they would NEVER get back together, they inevitably get back together. Immediately, I noticed a distance between me and my bestfriend and this hurt me pretty bad, but I never let them know I was hurt. I wouldn t say I was depressed, but this was the closest thing to it. We stopped facetiming and texting daily and our communication became thin until one day (maybe a month later) she randomly texts me " we cant be cool anymore " and then proceeds to explain that Sam doesn t like when me and Julie talk. Once again, this hurt me alot. I know I can at the very least put a dent in their relationship to get my friend back (Sam says rude things about Julie) but I choose not too. I don t know what to do. Help. |
Question: I have friend issues please help!? Posted: 15 Jan 2018 04:32 PM PST When i was in 8th grade i made a friend(Zachary) but he always was a jerk and rude to me so i stopped being his friend. My younger brother then became his friend. I dont have many friends (well none now) I usually talk to my brother but ever since he became friends with Zachary he just wants me out of his life and hates me. I tried to make new friends online and in real life but they rarely talk to me and they arent a gamer like i am. I already talked to everyone in real life that i thought i could be friends with so i have no idea with real life friends anymore. Zachary is a gamer and so is my brother. So, they play all day and once Zachary gets off xbox my brother will play with me but thats at like 2am and i try to be in bed by at least 12 on the weekend. So i thought that if i cant make friends i could talk to Zachary and make up or let me play with my brother longer and earlier. He rejected me then said that my brother has free will and he just wants me out of his life. I also asked my parents and they said that he has free will as well. Every time i make online friends they are some horny teenagers or some dumb random younger kid. So im stuck in a situation where im bored all day and have no one to talk to. Once in a while i get depressed and cry because im sooooooo bored and no one wants to talk to me or play with me. Sorry if i sound stupid or overdramatic. Does anyone have any idea what i could besides be bored and cry all day? |
Posted: 15 Jan 2018 04:25 PM PST I'm a middle aged woman and my friend is about a decade older than I am. When he visits my home he plays rough with my dog. It's just like when someone roughhouses with a dog playfully, but the difference is that my dog clearly doesn't like it. I'm truly trying to understand what his thought process might be. It has happened several times. I also don't know how to ask him to stop. I'm usually good at saying things tactfully, but I'm at a loss here. It's really important to me not to offend him if possible. I don't want him to feel reprimanded. Thanks! |
Question: How to make someone take you seriously? Posted: 15 Jan 2018 04:02 PM PST So here's the deal. There's this guy at the taco truck across the road who always yells at me for letting my dog take a **** right in front of his truck but still on my property. I keep telling him that I'll retaliate if he keeps this crap up, and he doesn't care. It's like he doesn't think I'm serious. Well here's some news: I AM SERIOUS AS HELL AND I MEAN BUSINESS!!!! I'm ready to retailiate against this bogus asswipe. How do I get him to take me seriously in order for me to defend my property? |
Question: Help! Long lost best friend.? Posted: 15 Jan 2018 03:13 PM PST My friend moved away about a year and a half ago, since then we lost touch and we haven't talked since. She tends to keep a low profile on the internet in general... is there any way I could find her simply by first and last name? |
Question: I’m sick of people seeing me as a goody goody? Posted: 15 Jan 2018 02:45 PM PST I'm not some Religious freak, or anything. But ppl see me as someone who isn't fun enough to go to parties. Ppl don't take me seriously. How do I seem not so goody goody and lame? I want to be the type of girl who goes to parties and ppl know I'm open-minded. |
Question: Would you consider this normal for a married man? Posted: 15 Jan 2018 02:42 PM PST Would you consider these behaviors normal for a married man towards a female friend? A lot of the time when I appear upset on Facebook, he'll say silly things or post silly gifs to put a smile on my face/make me laugh. I was upset over a guy and posted "I deserve the best, right?!" and he commented with a gif of an actress making a heart with her hands. He often comments on my posts with great advice or opinions, but I don't see him do that to any other mutual friends. He barely seems to pay any attention to mutual friends' posts. When we used to work together, he'd flirt with me A LOT! Complimenting me (calling me "awesome" and saying I'm "the best"), intense eye contact (one time it was so intense that I was like "what?" and he looked away); whenever there was a group of us, I was the only one he really talked to. He seems overprotective of me when it comes to me talking about guys..for instance, I was chatting with a guy my friend works with and I asked my friend about him and my friend was saying how sketchy the guy is or one time I posted saying that a potential partner would have to meet 7 specific people in my life and get their approval before I'd date them and my friend goes "who are the other six besides me? :) :) :) " When I mentioned not knowing how I'd pay for my birthday dinner, he said if he could make it, he'd pay for mine. He never hesitates to give me rides (I don't have a license at the moment), even if it means we'll be alone. On my birthday, he left me the longest birthday post I got, implying that I make him laugh and smile and that I encourage him. Yesterday, my mother and I went to lunch with him and his family and another family and at first, when we all met up, I didn't acknowledge him and I was standing there and he walked by and flirtatiously ran into me and I flirtatiously pushed him back and he started laughing. Also, at lunch, he chose to sit across from me and chat with me, rather than sit with his wife. Are these behaviors normal for a married man towards his female friend? Also, one time we had just gotten into his car and the piece that opens his sunroof fell onto the floor in between my legs and without hesitation, he reached his arm in between my legs and reached down to retrieve the piece and we didn't acknowledge it, but I'm sure we both felt weird about it lol! J, what do you think isn't "normal" behavior? Anon.,he has said to me and only me, that his wife complains sometimes about when he gets home from work or that she never seems to listen to him. I don't think he would've reached down in between my legs to get a car piece if his wife was around, but who knows? LOL! Once when we worked together, I was standing in front of a counter and he needed to put this box down under the counter and I was in the way and instead of saying "excuse me",he kept poking me in the crotch with the box's corner. |
Posted: 15 Jan 2018 02:37 PM PST Do you only talk to close friends for 20 mins plus, or do you do that with most of your friends. I figured in this day and age it would be close only. On the phone I mean. |
Question: In what ways do people you know project a false or exaggerated image of themself online? Posted: 15 Jan 2018 02:25 PM PST For example, acting like they have more money than they do, acting like they're a big fan of things they might only sort of be a fan of, or always being online with the checklist of their interests, etc. |
Question: How can I ask her out ? Posted: 15 Jan 2018 01:12 PM PST Hello I'm 23 years old and I'm a maintenance guy. So I've never liked any girl before and I've never thought about having a girlfriend or a wife but this girl cought my eye, she's adorable! The way she smiles, her grey eyes, wavy brown blonde hair, her personality, kindness, the way she like kids every single thing about her is perfect. She is 20 years old and works as a cleaning lady in the restaurant that we're repairing! I asked a waiter about her and he told me that she's an orphan and stays in a tiny apartment near the restaurant , she works from 5am-11pm so I've never had the chance to see her after work. She is very shy, I tried talking to her but she can't handle a conversation!! I get very jealous when guys try to hit on her or flirt or mess with her, And I get upset when customers (especially girls) treat her horribly bad and make fun of her, last time one girl started pushing her and cussing at her which made me very upset . I can't get my mind off of her, I don't want any other girl but I don't have the courage to ask her out or tell her that I like her ! Help please any advice on how to ask her out ? |

Question: Should I Transfer High Schools? Posted: 15 Jan 2018 10:48 AM PST I'm going into Sophomore year next year and I hate my current high school. Last year, I ended a friendship with 2 of my best friends and they spread rumors about me all around the grade saying things like I "beat my sister." I just feel like everyone there hates me. I just want to start fresh and be in a place where nobody knows anything about me so I can just start again. If I do move schools, my parents will be able to afford a nicer house in this area. I won't have to share a bedroom with my sister anymore. However, Id have to leave my best friend. I'd only be moving 15 min away so we could meet up every week. So what should I do? |
Question: I need help with a friend that did drugs? Posted: 15 Jan 2018 10:46 AM PST I have a friend. She used to be my best friend. Every time we travel to Michigan we usually stop in to see her. She has been trying to reach out to me since 2015 the last time I seen her. I found out from my dad who found out from my brother that she was sitting in jail and has been in there for 4 months. I found out she was doing drugs. I would like to help move her here to my state and be here for her and help her. I think a fresh start would be good for her since this is not the first time this is the 3rd time. Her family hasn t been there for her. They have never been there for her. I wrote her a letter like she asked me to do. One of her other friends told me that. Her foster mom liked my idea but texted me a week ago saying that she got your letter and appreciatesee my offer but she wants to stay in the area and be close with her family. How can I change her mind and show her that I will help her. I don t want her going down the same path she is now like her biological mom did. Please any advice would help... |
Question: Could this woman I used to work with like me? Posted: 15 Jan 2018 10:45 AM PST Back in the summer, I was interning at this bank. There was this cute black woman (who is also a single mom) who asked me if I drink, if I have a girlfriend, and if I ever want kids. She along with the other workers who were mostly women said I should come back and visit them sometime, this was on my final day. I've been meaning to visit them but they're so busy there and with the holidays and everything. I was attracted to her back when I was interning but I didn't want to take the risk of making things awkward if she said no. I needed to intern to graduate. I like to think she was interested in me but I'm bad at reading signals from women. I have all of their business cards |
Posted: 15 Jan 2018 09:57 AM PST I upset a friend I really care about over that she rejected my feelings about her 3 months ago when I hadn t asked her out. I tried apologizing to her and she accepted but I want my friendship back with her again. |
Question: What to do if you have to choose between your girlfriend and your best female friend? Posted: 15 Jan 2018 09:49 AM PST They don't really get along together and they do it just for my sake. But what if I have to choose at some point? |
Question: Why do people like to target me? Posted: 15 Jan 2018 09:44 AM PST whenever i tell someone about my problems they feel sorry for me but then later make it worse. like i told someone how i used to get called this mean name in school and later she started calling me it too. |
Question: Should i feel guilty? Posted: 15 Jan 2018 09:40 AM PST I'm kinda close to this one guy in my class, but not really. He told me that he had a crush on this girl in my class, who's one of my friends. I'm a guy, and I have mostly female friends, and he sometimes jokes around like "oh you're drowning in pussy" and stuff, so I assume that he doesn't take everything too seriously. There was this group thing in my class, and we were eight-ish people. He sat close to his crush, and I said stuff like "Stop hitting on her, [tim] (not his real name)", jokingly. When we were about to leave this class (it was our last), I said, really loudly, 'cause I'm a loud person "He was obviously hitting on you!". Again, jokingly. I didn't say a name, so he couldn't even know if it wad him I talked about, and onyl the group could really guess if it was. The whole class could hear it, but didn't really care, as everyone practically yells all the time. He put headphones in his ears, and left. He seemed upset. I send him a Snap, and he hasn't responded. Should I feel guilty? sidenote: She already knew he liked her, 'cause he had already told her, and she had shown me the texts he sent. |
Posted: 15 Jan 2018 09:29 AM PST Before I moved to the states I had so many friends & best friends . All my friends were super nice and so loving and caring. I literally had about 20 and we would always go out, hangout and have sleepovers. It was super fun! But, every since I moved here it's been a nightmare for me. No friends, social anxiety and a little bit of depression. I try talking to people but I feel like no one really enjoys talking to me. I even try starting a conversation with them but they don't even want to finish it. Everyone seems so fake and it's just so hard for me to actually make friends. Any advice? I don't want to give up but I feel like I just have to... I just don't know what to do. I'm a very happy and positive person but I feel like no one really sees that in me. |
Posted: 15 Jan 2018 08:57 AM PST So i have this friend, let's just call her E. She's really popular and pretty judgy. I've known her for a while, but we've never hung out before. E said she can come to my house, but i don't want her to be bored, i wanna get closer to her. OH AND LET'S NOT FORGET ABOUT MY SOCIAL ANXIETY. any tips?? Thx <3 |
Question: Does he want more? Are these signs of concern? Posted: 15 Jan 2018 08:50 AM PST I've been friends with this guy for about 6 months. He's a great guy and we have a lot of fun together. We did talk about the possibility of being in a relationship a few months ago but he didnt know how he felt towards me so we left it as a friendship. He has since invited me over to his families Christmas functions, texts me everyday, had me meet his best friends. I was ok with this frankly because he's a great friend and I just figured he was bringing me in to his circle. But he caught me off guard by buying me a relatively expensive gift. I got him a gift as well but honestly, my gift was nothing huge, just a small token. I feel bad because it seems he put some thought and effort into his gift and I, well did not. This is making me worry he's feeling something more then he should. |

Question: Should I be upset that my friend isn’t coming to the birthday party? Posted: 15 Jan 2018 07:29 AM PST My best friend is not coming to my daughters 1st birthday party and I have to say, I'm really upset with her. Her excuse is that she lives 7 hours away, can't take off work the Friday before because there's "too much" going on that day, and she has to study for grad school. This doesn't sit well with me.. she is in two different weddings and she has gone out of her way to attend bachelorette parties and whatnot. The fact that she isn't willing to do the same for my babies birthday party tells me that I'm not worth her time and effort. How should I bring this up to her? |
Question: Having trouble seeing the good in people.? Posted: 15 Jan 2018 07:10 AM PST I have trouble making friends. I just think that every social situation i encounter i ungenuine. I never feel that anyone is genuine with me. That they actually care for me. I spend most of my days alone, My mom and sister i dont spend much time with because theyre quite mean to me nd i have one friend i hang out with at times. But my relationship with my mom, my sister and my friend arent genuine either, i have no religion and i see myself as queer and thats something i can never share with any of them. thats why i cant hang out with them, cause i cant show the real me and im too lazy to put up a made up character. What can i do to change this, how can i make friends without thinking theyre not genuine? |
Posted: 15 Jan 2018 06:50 AM PST Im always so humiliated because the few ppl who think Im cool soon realise what a loser I am when they see my FB/instagram. I've always been 'that person' who gets about 3 likes on a post if Im lucky, and 8 MAX...most of my stuff are left unliked...and I know its not a big deal...but its been like that since FB started...and its been nothing but an embarrassment for me! To make matters worse I used to stalk ppl on linkedin without knowing they could see I was stalking them...How can I reclaim myself after all that mortification? |

Posted: 15 Jan 2018 05:33 AM PST So this year,a new student in our class, and ever since the beginning of the school year,he's been acting really weird, the first time I met him,he immediately thought we were friends, and this happened with 2 of my friends, too. (Although he started to forget about me).He always does the most bizarre things to get attention, and the only attention he is getting is negative. He always spells,or whispers his (full) name, and does weird faces, doesn't take care of his hygiene (puts his finger in his ear and nose),and doesn't care if the teacher is in the class, because he will start pretending that he is the teacher,or he will stand up,and do what he is best at doing,(attracting negative attention). He also shows his chest to girls, who always look the other way,and never hesitates to ask one girl especially to sit near him,or just talk to her, even though she told him not to talk to her for hundreds of times... The school has confirmed to us that he is,retarded, but what kind of illness is this? And do you have any tips on how I can avoid him,or pretend that he is not there?Because he causes me stress, and I don't know how to ignore him. I really feel stressed about this and I don't know what to do yet. I also feel bad for him, because,as you can imagine,no one gets near him.Does this kind of mental illness solve? And if so,what would help? Thanks in advance! Also, there are LOTS of more things that he does, but details are not important |

Question: Can anyone give me some advice please? Posted: 15 Jan 2018 12:12 AM PST I gave a friend a second chance after she hurt me because she started bullying me because of someone she was close to and everything was fine until now. I used to like a boy a while ago and she started talking to him as well and the boy, her and me all went to a friends birthday party at which she held the boys' hand and didn't give me a chance to talk to him. My feelings aren't there anymore for this boy and she cane talking to me saying that he was drunk and that he kept mentioning me and I said that I didn't want any serious stuff like a relationship for now and she went talking to her friend about what I had said and she talked about me in a way that shows that she's jealous and she changed some words as well which makes the whole thing not the way I said it to her. school finishes in March but I don't want anything to do with her and I don't want people coming to attack me or something if i block her on social media. What should I do?? |

Question: I have no friends in college. Any suggestions? Posted: 14 Jan 2018 10:46 PM PST So I don't have a single friend in college. I had a ton of friends when I was in high school, and I lived a pretty comfortable life. I just thought my lifestyle in high school would last forever, until I went to college where I felt like I was thrown out there with the wolves and kind of forced to be there around all new people in a much bigger pond. I kind of missed out on all those initial chances to meet people because of my shyness and anxiety towards the whole ordeal. In high school I knew everyone and didn't have problems talking and making friends with people. But in college I felt like whenever I'd try talking to someone, everything was always awkward and I just couldn't be myself as I didn't know anything about them. It just seemed like with everyone I met had nothing in common with me and I couldn't click with them or relate to them at all. I tried joining clubs but they didn't really help as they were full of cliques. Everybody seemed to know each other really well and I was just kind of outcasted struggling to find common ground with anyone. In high school I had everything, in college I have nothing. So now I'm 22 and have one more year left. Haven't made any friends and I just struggle with people. I don't really know what to do. It seems like virtually everyone around here has tons of friends and they all look like they are having the time of their lives. I feel disappointed that I never felt that same experience. Any suggestions on what I should do? |
Question: How do I stop feeling attached to someone and being jealous? Posted: 14 Jan 2018 10:32 PM PST I only have a few friends, most of them barely talk to me. And to be honest if I disappeared I doubt any of them would notice :( Anyway, I meet a new friend on Tinder, and we went to the movies last week, meeting for the first time, he said I looked uncomfortable and so I explained to him that I have anxiety. And he was fine with it. A week later he invited me to he's house for some drinks with him and a couple of he's friends. I did feel awkward because they all knew each other pretty well and were all talking about going to music festivals and were planning some more. I kind of felt jealous because it seemed like he had tonnes of friends. He is so nice to me, i don't know whether thats because he's gay and he likes me or not. Why do I always feel so attached to new friends? If he has tonnes of friends why would he want to be my friend? And how on earth do I stop feeling jealous about him having heaps of friend? |

Question: What does it mean when people are always calling you cute/adorable? Posted: 14 Jan 2018 07:59 PM PST I find it super annoying when people call me that. Wth is that supposed to mean??? That I'm vulnerable or that I'm a pure or good hearted person??? Help me out here I'm not being commented on my "attractiveness" . In fact these comments generally come from females that don't know me very well. I could be having a deep conversation with someone and they say "youre So cute". How is me being realistic being cute? Does it mean that I have good intentions or I have a bubbly personality?? |

Question: My friends don’t put any effort into the relationship. Please help!? Posted: 14 Jan 2018 07:19 PM PST I have about 4 close friends and none of them ever invite me to anything. I constantly invite them to stuff every weekend but they never can hangout, yet always hang with other people. I understand people get busy, but they can at least set aside some time for me. They don't text, call, or talk to me at all. They never invite me to anything and I'm tired of it. I told them how I feel, and one girl said she's going through a lot at home and can't put any effort into anything right now, which I completely understand BUT she hangs out with other people a lot via her Snapchat story. I'm tired of this. I want them to know I'm mad so I've been ignoring them, yet they haven't noticed. What do I do? I just want good friends |
Posted: 14 Jan 2018 06:57 PM PST So this good college friend of mine. I saw some pic of him on facebook and it gave me the wrong idea. I kind of got mad(I was on no sleep) and sent him a text to not contact me again, a slight rant and all. I know it was weird. So I think he may have blocked me for it. I explained it to our other buddy and he understod and told him. The other buddy told me he seemed kind of mad but not permanently, like to try hitting him up in a few weeks(through him of course). Should I? I know he blocked me but the other buddy of ours said he seems just temp mad and all. Thing is is the friend never answers his phone(trust me to no one, parents, gf, other friends) lol. Its frustrating and all, but should I try later or forget about it. |
Question: Red flags to look out for when someone is obviously trying to make friends with you? Posted: 14 Jan 2018 06:43 PM PST Sorry more details - we're same-sex, I'm bi, I don't believe she's attracted to me sexually (but you never know). I feel like there's something "off" about her but I can't tell why. She doesn't seem to have any other friends (neither do I but I'm new here so...), she's a bit clingy, gets touchy when I'm not on-call to go do something with her. I can't tell if she's just sensitive or she has other issues. I'm neurodivergent myself so I understand HAVING those issues but it's also high-maintenance and idk if I can commit that kind of time that she seems to be interested in. Alex thank you... That's exactly it; she thinks I have $$$ cuz of who I hang out with. I don't know why I didn't see that before and it's a long story but it all makes sense now. That's exactly the kind of vibe I was getting off of her too. And she's starting to get snippy now cuz she's starting to realize I'm not useful to her... She wanted me for a client basically (again long story) and she's annoyed she wasted her time... Thank you that makes perfect sense. I'm 99% sure that's what it is. |
