Question: Is my 11 year old sister suicidal? Posted: 29 Jan 2018 02:09 PM PST My 11 year old sister has this journal. I looked at it, to write her a note and found drawings saying: "My heart is broken, my parents are fighting again" but our parents just had a little argument, we just moved to a new area and are under a lot of stress. ( I am 15) But I looked at the journal today and it said all over, "I want to kill myself" "I am never happy and I never will be" and "I want to die". She got very mad when she found out that I saw it, but now she seems fine. What is wrong?! |
Posted: 29 Jan 2018 01:28 PM PST They're not growing up rich and famous or on the streets begging for money. I notice that both poor and rich kids are more likely to have absent parents. Most people who grew up middle class remember playing on the playground, family trips once a year, neighborhood friends, and just being a kid. Lower income homes have parents working full time, home alone more, less materials, and live in dangerous neighbourhoods. While the wealthy are raised by nannies, have parents too busy making more money, and the children may even be spoilt. |
Question: How do I get my dad to go to the hospital and take blood pressure meds? Posted: 29 Jan 2018 01:23 PM PST and stop drinking alcohol. He's a chronic alcoholic and has been for years now and his blood pressure is always sky high. My grandmother taught him to never to go a Dr. and she didn't and ended up dying from cancer. He drinks vodka all the time and I know it's because he's depressed but I'm sure he doesn't want to die either. How can I convince him different? He's nearly 60 years old too so this worries me all the time. |
Question: What do you do when stress gets to be too much? Posted: 29 Jan 2018 01:10 PM PST I'm so done. I have 4 kids ages 11 & 12, so the pre teen thing is barrels of fun🙄 At job #1 all of the teachers are in constant bad moods, then you've got cabin fever kids.... at job #2, I'm a coach and competition season is upon us so tensions are high. I desperately needed to get to a store today but the older 2 called and said the key broke & they were locked out of the house. Get home to them instead of the store (it's 20 out) to find the school nurse from the other school called saying they don't have my sons epi-pen because we took it to go camping. Uh, 🤔, my family doesn't camp and we never took it. So now I'm stuck waiting for the pediatrician to call back so I can refill the lost medication because they have a field trip tomorrow. Chances are it won't be filled in time. Oh and I took all electronics away from the kids, so good times right there.... I'm going to explode... how do you handle stress?? |
Question: Why are some vegan parents so pushy and judgmental to their non-vegan children? Posted: 29 Jan 2018 01:05 PM PST I saw a video of a vegan talking to her child who eats meat. She kept questioning him about eating meat and said he's "just not there yet" about veganism. WTF?! |
Question: Why do some people think that adoption is a bad thing? Posted: 29 Jan 2018 12:24 PM PST They act as if we tend to be less loved by our adoptive parents. I've had people refer to my birth mom as my "real mom". I feel like my adoptive family is my real one - they raised me from 6 months old. My birth mom had me at 13. I would've been raised by a child who barely experienced her teenage years. Two parents is better than having a child take care of a baby plus live in poverty. |
Question: How do I tell my parents that I don’t want to dress in a childish manner? Posted: 29 Jan 2018 12:18 PM PST I'm 13 and I don't like glittery cartoon outfits anymore. I feel like I grew out of it. I'd like some simple outfits that are less flashy and girly. Maybe some normal shirts and leggings would be more appropriate for my age? My outfits make me look like a 5 year old and no one my age dresses that way. I never told my parents that I wanted to change styles. They just shop at the children's aisles for me. |
Posted: 29 Jan 2018 11:32 AM PST Are you friends wkth your inlaws on socisl media ? I used to be but they deleted me but they are friends with each other on everything . Is it good or bad ? Should I be but they would argue with me about stuff when I used to be so i guess its good im not ? They just automattically add whoever my brother in law is dating on everything and get mad at me . |
Posted: 29 Jan 2018 11:25 AM PST I feel like something is bad about me or like I caused it since they don't talk to me. I want to have a relationship with them but don't cause they won't and it makes me upset and even obsessed about it. How do I make up to them for my Moms suicide? |

Question: I don’t like my situation? Posted: 29 Jan 2018 09:42 AM PST I am a 16 year old living with my mom. My parents are divorced but my dad is engaged. I visit my dad every other weekend. My mom and I fight all the time and I can't stand how she treats me. It's so unequal and controlling. On the other hand, my dad and I get along perfectly. We have a lot in common and it's so much better at his house. I want to move in with him but I would have to switch schools and I don't think I can do that. Please help |
Question: What does being a mother/father figure mean? Posted: 29 Jan 2018 08:04 AM PST These days were taught that girls can do whatever boys can do and vice-versa. So what does having a mother/father figure mean for a kid? And please don't think that I'm being sarcastic. Because my thinking was that it was for stereotypical reasons. But if not, then do we really need us terms mother/father figure anymore? |
Question: How can I be available for my kids when I am so busy? Posted: 29 Jan 2018 06:04 AM PST I'm going to college, I have three jobs on different days, and when I'm home I have to spend a lot of time on school work. My family is a BIG help, but my kids' dad is not around, and I worry I don't connect with them enough. I have one day off, but even that day I have to study. My kids need to know their mom is there for them, even if I'm not always around physically. |
Question: Is it weird that all my siblings are over 25 and still live at home? Posted: 29 Jan 2018 05:04 AM PST I'm 20 and the youngest of four. I live in my own apartment close to my university. All my siblings still live at home with our parents, and they're over 25. My youngest sister is 27 and still lives at home, my brother is 28 and still lives at home, and my oldest sister is 33 and still lives at home. Is it weird to still live at home at those ages? |
Question: Why is my mom so stupid? Posted: 29 Jan 2018 04:26 AM PST My sister was raped by an older man who babysitted her as a kid.. now she's 18 and revealed it a few months ago. and my mom doesn't want revenge? She kept praying instead of telling the cops? Just because the old man and old woman are disabled? I feel like my mother is stupid. |
Question: Can I leave and never come back? Posted: 29 Jan 2018 04:17 AM PST I wanna leave my household next year in 2019, on a 2-3 month road trip. Then I'll rent a place with my sworn brother. My family knows about the road trip. But I don't want to come back to a toxic family. I'm 24. Is it morally okay not to tell my mom I won't come back? |
Question: Stories related to nature for children that encourage virtues? Posted: 29 Jan 2018 04:13 AM PST Hi folks, We are holding a class for children with the topic of "Children And Nature", and we are going to have stories, games, songs and such that are somehow related to nature and also encourage some virtues or sprituality. So I am searching for some short stories for children that encourage virtues, sprituality, etc, and at the same time have something to do with nature.(forexample one of the characters could be an animal, a tree, etc. Like "The Giving Tree", which at the same time has the tree as a character of nature and also encourages giving. Any ideas? Thank you very much everyone. |
Question: What to say to a mother picking favourites? Posted: 29 Jan 2018 12:08 AM PST I used to babysit when I was younger, I've since stopped except for one particular family, a single mom with her son (10) and her daughter (7). I haven't stopped babysitting for them because I genuinely worry about her son. He's a very sweet boy with very obvious anxiety which he's had since I started, his sister is also very sweet but way more social and they both get along fine. The mother favours her daughter. It wasn't that obvious at first but over time I realized how whenevr I see them all in the same room, she's never with her son, rarely acknowledges him, I noticed he doesn't have as many toys as his sister, his room is more simple and efficient than his sisters room which is covered in decorations. I babysit him on his sisters birthdays becasue the mom doesn't take him. I once found him in his room crying, when I asked he showed me his report cards that had all A's so I praised him and he just started sobbing harder, I don't think she ever praises him. It breaks my heart and I know I'm leaving for college soon, but what do I do? She's not neglecting his physical needs or physically abusing him. Any and all help is appreciated. |
Question: I feel like I’m never enough, I feel like I have no talent...? Posted: 28 Jan 2018 08:18 PM PST My brother got a new girlfriend, and he's been with her for about eight months. She's a very talented artist and she's really nice!! but, I always see stuff about my relatives gushing over her on social media and him gushing on and on about her and her talent. it often leaves me feeling discarded, and almost like I'm old news. Everyone around me has something they're really good at, and I just don't seem to have anything. I'm okay at art, acting and writing, but what else? I'm not great at anything. sorry if this is venty |

I asked her to add me but she never did when ever I texted her, she never replied. I started crying what do I do? Also a few months ago my 2 friends called me lesbian because I hang out too much with one of my friends. Now they have been hanging out with her and leaving me out. Help? |
Question: My dad is cheating on my mom? Posted: 28 Jan 2018 07:39 PM PST Hi guys. So my dad has been cheating on my mother for 4+ years. I haven't said anything bc I want to be a good daughter but idk. My dad like, has people pay him to have s*x with them? And he sends nudes and stuff. I've wanted to tell my mom forever, and I finally did one day. She told me "thanks for watching out for me but that's not true". I've never confronted my dad. But I feel like it's time. What should I do? :( |
Question: I think I was adopted. What should I so? Posted: 28 Jan 2018 06:21 PM PST I think I was adopted because me and my brothers birthday are very close. My brothers birthday is September 16, 2002 and my birthday is on December 4, 2003. Our birthdays are way too close and my parents wouldn't be able to have another child that fast. I am obsessing over this. Should I tell my parents that I know that I'm adopted? |
Question: My mom won’t let me stay home alone!!!!!!? Posted: 28 Jan 2018 06:20 PM PST I am 13 and my mom got invited to her one of her friends house for dinner and it's a 5 minute drive from my house, and she's only staying for 1 hour!!!!! She's set on getting a babysitter and it's embarrassing because my babysitter is in my class!!!!! How can I convince her to leave me home alone? Oh, and the most time she's let me home alone for is 10 minutes. What can I do to change her mind????? |
Question: How can i get back at my dad for not buying me a car? Posted: 28 Jan 2018 06:13 PM PST I turned 17 so i can drive alone now, which means i need a car but my dad refuses to buy me one he says i should buy it myself but where the hell does that old idiot think a student can get money to buy a car, its a miracle if i have more then 20 in my purse. How can i get back at him so he will see how stupid he behaved and buys me a car P.S. dont suggest tattoes, my dad hates tattoes so one of my friends suggested it but i hate them too, so no |
Question: Why do my parents enjoy insulting me? Posted: 28 Jan 2018 06:07 PM PST They call me idiot, stupid, moron, etc. and it's over every little thing. Like my dad wanted help taking a picture on his phone and then he said "You didn't turn on the FLASH MORON!!" and he didn't ask me to turn on the flash. When I tell my dad it's not nice to call me names he just says he is in charge and controls me. |
Question: I get upset when I hear stories like this. What can I do? Posted: 28 Jan 2018 05:23 PM PST I'm a male that longs every day to become the father of a daughter. When I hear stories about girls growing up without fathers, it makes me upset. VERY upset. Considering that I don't even know for sure that I will have a daughter, I just get so upset and hearing about situations of other men refusing to be a dad to their daughters. Is there ANY thing that I can do about this? Any big brothers option is pretty much out the window since I highly doubt anybody will let a man mentor a girl. What else can I possibly do? |
Question: Is blood usually thicker than water? Posted: 28 Jan 2018 05:09 PM PST Two best friends can be like sisters, but they can also break apart and the friendship is gone. Biological siblings can have fights but won't stop being siblings. They can't just be angry at each other and the relation is over. Most people will probably get more devastated if a friendship is over since they might never get it back - but with their siblings, those same fights won't stop them from being siblings. |
Posted: 28 Jan 2018 05:01 PM PST It's not like you can stop her she's legally an adult now and free to do whatever she wants right Well she wants to marry this guy in his late 20s or early 30s 10+ year older than her and move in with him Oh don't worry he has a stable job career and income he can provide for and take good care of your daughter Your daughter is crazy about this guy |
Question: Is it normal for my parents to be worried about pedophiles a lot? Posted: 28 Jan 2018 03:30 PM PST I'm 15 and my little brother is 9. My parents seem to keep up with the child exploitation news. I know we hear about it but I don't think it's likely that we'll encounter those people. Pedophilia is a mental disorder and it's like the chances of meeting people with a particular disease. My parents have this little worry that someday, one will step into our lives. |
Question: Is it right to think my parents are selfish? Posted: 28 Jan 2018 03:13 PM PST So I couldn't talk for 3 years, and only now my mom is considering speech therapy. At first, they were like "you don't need speech therapy u r fine", but then they just ignored it. Whenever I talked to them about it, they were like "you just need to speak more", but the thing is, it's not an anxiety thing, there's rlly something wrong with my vocal cords. I tried searching yt for exercises but they ruined my voice even more. I even had to take language classes where I was constantly speaking, but my voice condition never changed (which was embarrassing all the time). Anyways, I just noticed (and I'm pissed off about it) that my parents buy stuff we don't rlly need. My dad bought a $1000 telescope, and and also 2 iPhone X's which I heard were like $2000 each. I just searched online and speech therapy sessions were like 250 an hour. So that could have been at least 12 sessions... Also, I'm moving schools, so I'm just getting emotional since I couldn't make friends at my current school, and now I can't at my new one, since I still cannot talk. My family doesn't rlly see it as a problem, but it is taking a toll on me and im just really angry and ******* tired of it all. No one understands what it's like to not have a voice, they think it's easy to just simply talk. I keep hearing some ppl ask if its an anxiety problem, and some have said I was faking it, so even though I know they intend no harm, i get angry at them (i dont show it though). |
Question: Why is my dad so annoying? Posted: 28 Jan 2018 03:10 PM PST He doesn't want me to drive in rainy days, i am almost 18, and he's offering to drive me and my friends (Who are almost 17 or 18) to go to the movies. I can drive better than him! Sure it's raining hard, but as long as your careful, you get through slippery roads! I live in manhattan. |
Question: Step sis wants to kiss me? Posted: 28 Jan 2018 03:08 PM PST the other day, my "step sister" was over and in my room with me. ( she's 12, i'm 15) we were both in my bed sitting kinda close but not like cuddling. she moved closer to me and leaned on my shoulder. we were just kinda talking a little bit then she said "i wanna kiss you sometime." i really didn't know how to respond so i just asked her why. she just said "i don't know, i just think your cute and i've always wanted to kiss you." she smiled at me. i smiled back, kinda confused, and just said "you're cute too." i always thought she was really cute, but was never attracted to her in that way. then she asked "would you kiss me?" i didn't want upset her or anything so i just said "sure i would." she just smiled and said "good" but after that she didn't really talk about it. the more i think about it, i think i'd be ok with kissing her/her kissing me, as long as we stick to ONLY kissing. is this ok? should i kiss her? i need some advice.. thanks |
Question: My grandpa pisses me off? Posted: 28 Jan 2018 03:05 PM PST I work for him on the weekend since I can't get a real job here in this small city! And i am his maid, I can't stand how he acts towards me he has dementia really bad and always thinks he has to go somewhere with him being 86 years old in a wheel chair it's not easy taking him places and he's also paranoid of other people! I don't have lots of money to move and I need a job Because I can't stand his behavior :( |
Question: Boy can not play with dolls/girl’s toys correct? Posted: 28 Jan 2018 01:14 PM PST That is absurd and very disturbing. I know a lot of people who would be disappointed in that little boy. Boys should STICK WITH toy trucks! |
