In my chemistry lab during first semester, my lab partner ended up being this guy, let's call him Bread for the sake of this. Bread was hilarious, but he's also a sophomore. So we started talking during labs and stuff because he's hilarious and Tuesdays always sort of sucked for me because they were long and stressful, but always made me laugh. Throughout last semester we started talking more and more and getting into these really deep conversations and all that, until basically I would come to him with a lot of stuff that was going on, including stuff with a guy I had a fling with. He'd always help me, listen, and give me advice, but also pushed me to be a better person and be more compassionate, which, by the way, he's one of the most compassionate people I've ever met. And now I'm kind of realizing that he does really care about me a lot, but I don't really know in what way. I mean I am a good amount younger than him, so I don't know if he sees me as more of a little sister type way, or something else. Bread and I hung out last weekend, just one on one in his dorm, and it was really chill and friendly. I told one of my friends that I was hanging out with a guy and she said "Ooooooo" with a smirk on her face, so my train of thought went from "Noooo" to "Oh wait does he like me?" to " OH WAIT TO I LIKE HIM??". I was at a party and I overheard this couple talking about college together, yes how rude I was ease dropping. At the time she was having an on again, off again relationship with her ex boyfriend. I knew who her ex boyfriend was because we used to talk online way before they even met. I never wanted to hang out with him. Well she has always told me they had an unstable relationship. She said he abused her. She said he used to yell at her, belittle her, push her. Someone else I know said that she heard him yelling at my friend in the background when they were having a phone conversation. I don't want to say he didn't abuse her because I don't want to say she's lying; however I wasn't there. I don't have any evidence that he abused her other than what she has said. He contacted me on a website a year ago and when I said I didn't want to talk to him cause of how he treated her, he said my personality was still crap and that I didn't know the full story. Fast forward to how things are now and me and my friend aren't very close. She never talks to me and sends mixed messages. She tells me she loves me but never asks to hang out with me. Since her words don't match up with her actions it makes me wonder if she is being honest about her past with him. I want to ask him personally but I don't want to make her mad. She gets very upset with anyone who may associate with him in some way, even if they're on his Facebook friend list. She has made statuses on people associating with him in general. |

After a little bit after I started getting to know her it was her birthday and I have a friend who knew her from something else so I asked for contact info and we talked for about a week. A LOT at the beginning and a little less each time. After that I think she thought I was ignoring her but I was just nervous. I know this for sure, long story short, she blocked me :(. A few times a few months after that I saw her and she always tried to talk to me (less each time) and I always responded but I have a problem where I think I sound happy and that I'm smiling but apparently I look like I want to die and mumble. Unless you really know me, you couldn't tell. Eventually we stopped talking entirely. For months. Recently we've started smiling or saying hi when we see each other, and recently it looks like shes looking over at me and when I look back she looks away. The first day we met we basically had eye contact the whole day, she never looked away (Shes a big extrovert, I'm a big introvert). We talk a little more too. |
