Question: Do i need to ask my girlfriends dad for permission to marry his daughter? Posted: 27 Apr 2017 10:54 PM PDT I'm going to propose on New years when the ball drops in time square. I know it is common, but i know she will like it. We don't live far from her parents, they just don't know me that well. We have been dating for 2 years. Do i need to ask her dad for permission or can i propose? |
Question: Who is suppose to host my lingerie shower? Who do I invite? Posted: 27 Apr 2017 10:49 PM PDT Sorry it s long but please help I don t know what to do. I m 18 and soon to be married. I always thought that the MOH and bridesmaids hosted it and it was just them and a couple other close friends. All of my bridesmaids and MOH don t have the money because they either live on their on or college. My family is so excited to host it. My mom is trying to take me lingerie shopping. Please tell me if I m overreacting? I am slightly creeped out because I figured the most it would come to would be her say pick something out and here s a card to buy it. This is something that s more personal. Also, my mom is mainly hosting it, is that normal? How many people was invited to your shower? I just wanted max 10 and now it s all of my cousins and aunts (women of course). What do I do? I mentioned to my mom a while back for us (me and my bridesmaids) to just take a day trip to Florida, get manicures, and we could set a time to give gifts and thing that evening at the house. She said that was good and soon after my aunt got married it changed. I am slightly embarrassed to think of what everyone might say and get me because this is more like things I talk with my girls, not mom. Please help |
Posted: 27 Apr 2017 10:31 PM PDT My boyfriend and I want to get married now, by the Justice of the Peace. I am 6 months pregnant. But after I have the baby and lose baby weight etc. we would love to have our wedding before God. I know some may see it crazy to want that considering we are having our baby before marriage, but thats what we want. I have always dreamed of bridesmaids and groomsmen etc., nothing expensive but something we can celebrate our marriage with our family and friends. I am scared if I get married now that it will cause me to lose the feeling I should have when walking down the aisle. OR does that feeling still happen? Has anyone gotten married by the Justice of the Peace and then had a "Real" Wedding afterwards? How did you feel about your decision? We both love each other unconditionally and have always said even before our pregnancy that we would get married in a heart beat, but ofcourse our financial situation had us seeing that in our future nothing soon and then we discovered we were pregnant. Any helpful advice is appreciated. Thanks |
Question: Isn't it tacky to serve frozen pizza for a wedding? Posted: 27 Apr 2017 09:04 PM PDT My friend is getting married and she's young (18) so her budget is very small (1000$) she has told me that she will be getting a bunch of frozen pizzas from walmart and cooking them the night before the wedding and buying 2liter sodas as we'll... She has invited alot of people to her wedding from our school who will probably laugh and make fun of her because we're still in highschool and won't be graduating until next month, However the wedding is next weekend so i need to find a way to stop her before she's all over Facebook getting laughed at. I even offered to chip in even though she doesn't need my help because her guest list is 200 people she planned to spend 700$ on food so that's more then enough to take everyone out to a fancy restaurant instead but she likes her idea better because she thinks it's "cheaper" what should i do? I've also tried talking her out of getting married but she's made her mind up the good thing is her boyfriend thinks this is a bad idea as well so now.. All we can do is stop her from embarrassing herself please help |
Posted: 27 Apr 2017 07:02 PM PDT My fiance and i are CT residences. We are planning to get our marriage license in Florida and get married by a Justice of the peace on the beach there. If we did that, would or marriage be recognized here in CT? I know FL allows a notary to marry and CT doesnt. But I know both states recognize justice of the peaces to marry. But because it's out of state would ct recognize out marriage? |

Question: Buying Gift Off The Wedding Registry-If You Can Find Gift Cheaper Elsewhere? Posted: 27 Apr 2017 01:25 PM PDT My niece is getting married next year and is registered at Williams Sonoma. I would like to purchase the Kitchen Aid mixer she wants but I know I can find the same exact model elsewhere for a lower price. She is requesting that the gifts be sent to her present address prior to the wedding so she'll know what she's getting ahead of time. First of all is buying the exact same item elsewhere besides the store where the bride is registered considered proper etiquette? Secondly, will she be allowed by Williams Sonoma to remove that item from her wish list even though it won't be purchased there?. Unless she deletes it there may be a chance someone could buy her the same gift. |
Question: What to do about bachelorette party? Posted: 27 Apr 2017 12:41 PM PDT A close friend from college is getting married and I m a bridesmaid. The MOH chose NYC for the bachelorette party. I agreed at the time, but my financial situation has since changed. I expressed my concerns to the MOH hoping she would be willing to change plans. It s still a month away and nothing has been finalized, except dinner and hotel reservations, both of which can be cancelled free of charge. She s not budging and when I spoke to the bride, she didn t offer alternatives either. She just said if I can t go, then don t. Also, I m out of state and travelling for the shower and wedding. Should I go even though I m on a tight budget? |
Question: Need suggestions for cocoa beach restaurant? Posted: 27 Apr 2017 11:01 AM PDT My fiancé & I are getting married this August in cocoa beach. We have family flying in from out of state. It ll be about 13 adults & 10 kids. Anyone have any suggestions on restaurants to go to after the ceremony? Looking for something different & fun. A dinner cruise would be nice too. |
Question: What is the difference between a bridal shower gift and a wedding present? Posted: 27 Apr 2017 10:12 AM PDT My friend is getting married soon, and today I just got an invite to her bridal shower. It's an afternoon event in a park. (so nothing wild) The invite says they are registered at Target and a local bridal shop (unfortunately I'm out of state till the event). But do people use the same registry for both? Because it was like all household items on the registry... So is there a difference between the gift for the bridal shower and the wedding present, or should I just buy things for both off the one registry? |

Question: Should grandparents be invited to the rehearsal dinner? Posted: 27 Apr 2017 08:21 AM PDT I need to make a guest list for the rehearsal dinner and I'm not sure who all is "supposed" to be invited. Are grandparents supposed to be included in the rehearsal dinner and is everyone who is invited allowed to bring a plus one? |
