Question: Ladies who drive would you have done this? Posted: 20 Apr 2017 01:27 PM PDT I just got to my daughters house for a 10 day visit. I had a long 8 hour drive so I drove barefoot and kept my shoes behind my seat out of the way. It was very comfortable being barefoot on my drive. |
Question: Is there a way to convince my dad to turn the wifi back on? Posted: 20 Apr 2017 01:22 PM PDT Every night, at 9:30 PM, my phone s texting and call services shut off, as does the wifi for my laptop and phone. Now, I mean, I don t like this (would any teenager?). However, I was able to deal with it over break and all that. Now though, with school back, it is seriously having a negative effect. I m in AP Calculus BC, AP Lit, APUSH, and AP Chemistry, as well as Spanish 4 Honors and Physics Honors. My point is, I have a lot of work. All of my homework, save for Calculus, is based off of my computer. With the extracurriculars that I do (such as jazz band, and track and field), I do not get home until around 5:00 PM. This leaves me with 3 hours to get all of my work done, which simply is not possible. I tried explaining this to my dad, but he said that I need to stop being lazy and figure out a way to finish it fast. Is there any way I can either convince my dad, or figure out a way around the block? Thanks Sorry, I meant to type 4 hours, not 3. |
Question: I want to runaway from home. Help? Posted: 20 Apr 2017 11:55 AM PDT Im 14. Im getting tired of my home and my family. Even the food and everything. I know my family REALLY loves me, but sadly i don't return their feeling. It's hard to love them back; my little sister is really annoying and way worst than your thinking, and the other the youngest is EXTREMELY DEFINITELY VERY BADLY bossy. I cant deal with her. My brothers are ok. My parents do everything to help us. But i feel like my siblings act like it's nothing. But about the food we eat, we eat same OLD food that will never ever and ever change for the rest of the life. Chicken, porkchop, pasta(with no taste), junks and snacks that we eat and all gone for less than 12 hours, because God and themselves know what do they like to eat, my mom doesnt know what to buy food for them. My siblings will never try fruits and vegetables and are badly disgusted by them. Even my mom dad put a lot of salt in vegetables. I have tried to get a job, but too many workers there. im just here for no reason. Just a person to see and to view, im ugly. I want some help to run away from home, if not i want to commit suicide. |
Question: How to apologize to a girl? Posted: 20 Apr 2017 11:52 AM PDT Hello guys. Im a guy and im friend with this girl. We snapchat each other a lot but it kinda faded when she got a boyfriends. I was kinda mad so i said some really really mean things to her. I feel so bad now, is there a way I could fix that? Like the things i have said might break off their relationship. I feel like a selfish person and i will fix that |
Question: My mom will not allow my dad and stepmom to attend my high school graduation? Posted: 20 Apr 2017 11:47 AM PDT I am graduating from high school on May 27th and I would really like for my stepmom and dad to attend. They haven't really helped out and I haven't been able to talk to my stepmom. My dad has my number and we text regularly, so my stepmom should be able to contact me. My mom argues this. I asked her if I could give them a ticket to the graduation and she said no. We've had arguments and she said that if they go, then she will not attend my graduation. I want everyone to go. I am trying to look past what my dad has done (not calling me, not offering money for college, etc.). Also, I am having a graduation party and it seems like my mom is taking control of this by already putting guest list together of people that she wants to attend. A few of the people on the guest list are people that I would rather not invite to the graduation or the party. It seems like my mom is just taking control of everything and I don't have a say in anything. Overtime I try to give my opinion or make a suggestion, my mom reminds me that she is paying for college or she says that she is the one who is going to work and paying bills. What should I tell her? Should I just drop the whole thing and let her do whatever? I am not even as excited for graduation as I was before. I am completely confused on what I should do about this situation... |
Question: Is it bad to not do things as a family? Posted: 20 Apr 2017 11:44 AM PDT My family doesn't have a lot of money. My dad is self employed and works all the time and my mum doesn't want to go out to work so is a stay at home housewife. We never do anything as a family and when I went back to school after Easter holidays we went around the classroom sharing with everyone what we did on our half term breaks. I was the only one who said I didn't do anything and just stayed at home each day. All my friends did days out with their parents or went on exciting holidays and they all said (including the teacher) that it's really bad I didn't get to do anything and I should be out socializing. I've always been used to not doing anything with time off so thought this was ok but everyone else seemed to think it's not right. I've never been abroad or gone to clubs etc as they cost money. Is this bad and not healthy? |
Question: My daughter said she's romantically attracted to me. What do I do? Posted: 20 Apr 2017 11:36 AM PDT I told her I need to think about things before giving her a response. This happened a week after the divorce from her mother was finalized. Could she just be confused? She's 17. How should I handle this? I need help as soon as possible. |

Question: Am I able to get my hardship license? Posted: 20 Apr 2017 10:40 AM PDT I'm 15 years old and live in Arkansas. My dad works full time and often more than full time hours. My step mom works part time but often during the times we need her to drive. I have an older sibling who often drives me to school, but he has practice for sports almost every day. He drives me to school most mornings but I either have to walk the 3 miles home or ride the bus. I want to avoid riding the bus because it doesn't get me home in time to watch my siblings. My siblings get home at around 3:30, I get home around 4:15 riding the bus, and my dad usually gets home around 4:15 to 4:20. My step mom works random hours and she's never able to pick us up. I currently have my permit also. We want to avoid my younger siblings staying at home alone. They currently walk home and I would arrive at about the same time if I drove, or I could pick them up from school. Does this meet the requirements for getting a hardship license? And would insurance cost more than when I have a permit? Also, my dad is often on call, so when he gets a call he has to go to work at any time. Many times this happens and my step mom and brother are both at work, so I have no way to get something for dinner and my dad has to leave work to get groceries. So in this situation am I able to get a hardship license to drive to school and back home? |
Question: How do I tell the difference between child abuse and discipline? Posted: 20 Apr 2017 10:38 AM PDT My mother and I don't exactly get along all the time. She's hit me, threatened me, etc. before and I am just curious if this is legal what she does. I'll put in a few situations where she has done those things. - She smacked me twice and spanked me when I didn't give her my phone password - She smacked me for not vacuuming correctly then getting an 'attitude' - She has threatened to hit me for not grabbing the laundry, saying 'i understand' in a disrespectful way, not doing the dishes, having an attitude, etc. - Just yesterday she pushed me against the counter and bent my back against it (which hurt a lot) then pushed me onto the ground, and I hit my head. I have a few bruises from it. Most the things I feel like she has a right, I'm just scared. |
Question: I hate my sister Help? Posted: 20 Apr 2017 10:31 AM PDT Im a 13 year old guy and I really hate my older sister who is 15. Why?? Because shes so lame and awkward. She never does anything that is fun and is doing boring **** all the time. All day she is reading her stupid books, watching anime youtube etc or playing pc games. I wonder how she doesnt go crazy with all that boring things. I cant even talk about funny things or make jokes with her because she doesnt laugh about them while everyone else does. My sister is also soo shy and I hate shy people. At school some of her class mates even asked me why my sister is so quiet or if she talks more at home. So annoying and embarassing. I really wish my sister would be more normal. Help me, what should I do? |

Question: Stepparent problems.? Posted: 20 Apr 2017 09:44 AM PDT It's about my two step boys age 7&8. I've been with their mom for almost 6 years and we also have a son together who will be 4 in may. My two oldest steal things not to mention they have everything that they want. I love both of my step boys with all my heart and consider them as my own. Their biological dad doesn't do anything to discipline them for their actions or even gives them a lecture which makes him the favorable one. Me as a stepparent what can I do besides lecturing them because I've done that in the past and for the most part is affective. But once they are at their dads it's an entirely whole new different story. Their mom as usual always gives and takes them out which I am against and don't think they deserve anything at the moment until they have proven themselves that they deserve to be given another shot. I was raised differently as to which if I would steal I would get spanked or disrespect I would get spanked for that to. So should I just let them be and not lecture them and have their mom do everything when it comes to them? Because honestly my girlfriend gets mad when I lectures them for a pretty long time. I believe that when one steals or assault anyone they deserve to be punished for their actions. But in their mom's case she believes that too but has a hard time sticking to her guns. Out of town weekend plans and up getting canceled due to their problems and their mom makes me feel guilty by canceling our weekend plans due to their problems. |
Question: Someone please offer advice. Controlling mom, what do I do? Posted: 20 Apr 2017 09:42 AM PDT I'm almost 20 years old, and I am an only child. I have already moved out of my mothers house for many many reasons. My mom never let me do anything. She would panick if I went outside to get something from my car, and immediately assume I was meeting someone outside. She would go through my draws, bags, backpacks.. you name it. I couldn't take not having privacy or respect so I moved out when I started college. SO, last night my on and off boyfriend of 4 years and I decided to celebrate his birthday a day earlier. We planned to make a dinner at my apartment. While I'm making dinner my mom calls my boyfriend and asked to speak with me. Immediately she began yelling and cursing that my boyfriend had no right to be at my apartment, and she wanted me to have him leave immediately. she began telling me my boyfriend is not a man because he does not encourage me to listen to my mother, and that he has no balls, or respect for me. I obviously got defensive and immediately started arguing.. before the night ended she called again to make a comment "I hope you have fun, literally". I feel completely stuck, and have no idea how to stop my mother from invading my life, my privacy, and my relationship. Please offer any advice you may have for me. |

Question: Getting over a traumatic house robbery? Posted: 20 Apr 2017 08:34 AM PDT Last few days, my house was burglarized. We called the police and they investigated but there were no fingerprints found and the only evidence the robber left is L-type Hex Key Wheel Nut Wrench Brace Tyre. I am only 15 and this is a traumatizing experience for me, especially when I lost my mobile phone and my mother lost her 20 branded watches as well as 3kg gold bar. I feel empty, especially I am the first person to see the my house's window broken due to these robbers who went in through there. I lost the only watch that my grandfather who passed away gave to me. I really treasure it. And now, I lost my mobile phone, where I have the pictures of me and him. We managed to replace the broken window and now I am worried that the robbers will come back. Now, my parents are running low on money just to install aluminium grilles, but is it worth though honestly? I talked to my bestfriend about this and she said I might have psychological trauma especially whenever I see things mess up. I can't sleep lately because I don't feel safe in my house. Coming back home and looking at the same window always make me cry because I kept on remembering what happened. The police is still investigating, my sister is using Find My iPhone to track my phone down but she still can't find it since my phone is turned off. Please give me some advice and tips to get over this... I am scared especially when I am starting to runaway from home. I am thinking of them coming back because they seem to forgot to take the television and a gold jewelry box. And we did install security cameras, but the camera was broken and smashed by them as well. + I am thinking running away from home because I don't feel safe there and it is depressing to come inside the place where you get the trauma from. |
Question: I can hear my parents at night! ? Posted: 20 Apr 2017 08:32 AM PDT Last night I was walking past my moms room and I heard her lock the door and then the sound of a wrapper. I never imagined my parents having sex in their free time although deep down inside kids know their parents do it. I respect that they love each other and all and I know one day I will be having sex so I don't want to get mad at my parents although it feels easy to. Later I heard the sound of kissing and my mom breathing heavy. How do i tell my mom and/or dad to keep it down without making everything awkward. P.S. I found the condom wrapper in their bathroom trash can this morning. Ewwwww Please help and it would really be appreciated if you guys can give advice and if this has happened to you pleeeassseeee tell me your experience and how you resolved the problem. Thx in advance! :) |

Question: My parents let my brother study abroad but they won't let me.Why? Posted: 20 Apr 2017 07:56 AM PDT So am an 18 year old girl and i have an older brother who is currently in univetsity abroad. I will start college and my parents are not willing to send me abroad because apparently there is not enough of money for me. They say that i should complete my first degree in my country itself and then do my last year abroad. Yet, my brother got into one of these big universities (one not too expensive) and during his holidays, he gets to visit other countries. My mother is also planning to send him to America for additional studying.I am jealous of my brother since he gets to enjoy life to its fullest when i can't. How my parents have enough of money to send him abroad and even to America when they said they don't have money to send me? He is also basically inheriting nearly all of what my parents own when i think i get only a small plot of land.He is such a brilliant person and i sholud be happy for him, i am believe me, but i also think that am living in his shadow. I was never able to surpass him and i guess my parents only saw his success and not mine. I feel like i need to get out of this place, to see the world and come back as a new person.I feel like am suffocating here. I really don't know if money is the problem or not because my parents are kind of overprotective. Since am the only kid at home, maybe they may feel like the house will be empty if i leave? I understand this but am not willing to sacrifice 3 years of my short life only for my parents to not feel lonely |
Question: Legal side of death of a parent? Posted: 20 Apr 2017 07:30 AM PDT Hello everyone! I have a question I was trying to find an answer to but couldn't seem to do so. My situation is quite complicated - I recently found out that my father is dying. I've known he had cancer for a few years but his sister called a few days ago and told me that he's probably going to die soon. He and his family (parents, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews) are from the states and they all live there. I was born there but I grew up in Europe and that's where I still live now. I was wondering about what's going to happen when he does pass? If his direct family - me, my sister and our mother (his wife) - live somewhere else and we don't have a relationship with him, we don't want to do anything with him, his will or other belongings. What are the things my mother would be required to do after his death (since me and my sister are underage)? Would we be required to fly to the states to fill out paperwork? |
Question: My brother keeps throwing things away? Posted: 20 Apr 2017 07:00 AM PDT I have a 12 year old brother and if he sees anything that has been in the closet, Trash. Then he says. because you don't use it. Then I say, I've been looking for it. One time he threw a souvenir. away without thinking. Even worse, he threw away my JOURNAL. Question: My sister said she's going to kill me one day...? Posted: 20 Apr 2017 07:00 AM PDT So my sister and I got into a fight and she got in trouble because my dad yelled at her for always fighting back and not listening. She 13 and I'm 15. As she was picking up her stuff she said "You know Emma, I'm really going to kill you one day." And left. What should I do? Is she serious? When she's mad I've seen her write things about killing me before. |

And on top of that when he is home he wants to be held ALL THE TIME and cries for no reason but he doesn't do that at his dads any advice? |
Question: 20 years old with an 8pm curfew? Posted: 20 Apr 2017 06:29 AM PDT Is this weird? I got home at about 8:15 from my boyfriends house and both of my parents freaked out saying I got back way too late so I said next time I'll just stay the night and But my mom said not allowed to stay the night with him. But if I get home late from work they don't care as long as it's before midnight. How can I get them to let me stay out longer. I'm hesitant to complain because I don't want to be kicked out. |
Question: I made my mom cry and idk what to do? Posted: 20 Apr 2017 05:45 AM PDT Long story short, me and my mother have never had a good mother daughter relationship, last night she called me a liar for something that happened, and I told her that maybe if she wasn't on her phone all the time and payed attention to me then she would know what I said. After awhile of fighting, and her taking my phone and laptop away (mind you I'm 16) I asked her why we didn't have a relationship like my friends have with their mothers, being able to talk about themselves and be friends, she accused me of calling her a terrible mother and went away and cried. Am I the wrong one here? idk what to do.. |

Question: Whenever I ask for permission to go out, my mother and I get into a fight. Help? Posted: 20 Apr 2017 03:21 AM PDT So the situation is, I'm not a very outdoorsy person. I get extremely exhausted from school (I am in the IB programme) during the week, and never really have the motivation to go out with friends. I don't like parties, or clubs, etc. I consider myself the least difficult child in the family, being the middle child, I go out of my way to not be a bother to anyone and to stay out of everyone's way. However, there are a few times where I've wanted to go for a movie, or wanted to go over to a friends place to study for my upcoming exams (both of these things mind you, are during the day between 11am and 4pm) - and my mother has thrown a fit. She gets really mad at me, tells me that I'm complicated, that I always want things to go my way, and then says that she doesn't believe that I'm going to study (even when I give her the number of my friends mum so that she can confirm it herself). What do I do? Edit: I am going to university next year, and I will finally get some more freedom. But right now, it feels like she wants to find every reason to fight me. And it sucks. I already have severe GED and the occasional depressive episode, and I feel like the constant yelling and fighting is exhausting and not helping me in any way. |
Posted: 20 Apr 2017 02:56 AM PDT What is your opinion on this? Are you for elder/younger sibling role or an equal relationship. My opinion is: Give the eldest some responsibility and authority (one without the other is wrong). If the elder sibling is irresponsible or abusive, take both. |

Do you agree with them? I see her as my equal, not an authority figure. I have to admit that she is very mature, but it doesn't feel right to be scolded by your sister. |

Question: MY DAD IS A BIG LIAR!!!!? Posted: 19 Apr 2017 07:23 PM PDT My dad always lie and I dont even know If i can trust him anymore. He gets off at work at 5:30 but he gets home at like 7:30 sometimes like 10-12 am. Posted: 19 Apr 2017 06:31 PM PDT The school nurse gave me a paper for my mom to sign and I asked my mom to sign it and she got mad because I asked her when we were watching tv together and she got mad because we had to pause tv. Then she asked to me make a copy and I said I don't know how to do that then she got really pissed of and I started crying and she started fake crying . She said I can't do anything. I keep telling her to blame the stupid nurse and she told me to shut up. Then she didn't spend time with us because she was mad. |

Question: Is my family messed up? Posted: 19 Apr 2017 06:16 PM PDT Just today, my younger brother in 5th grade started calling me a pervert and a b itch. He used words like f uck etc. HE SWEARS EVERYDAY AND ALWAYS CALLS ME A B ITCH FOR DOING NOTHING! At first I get pissed off. I tell him to stop and he doesn't. This particular time was at the dinner table where my mom and dad were both present and could hear what was going on. He keeps calling me a b itch and my second reaction is literally just sad. I'm sad he thinks this is ok and I don't want him to think it's ok to treat people like this. So then I start ignoring him and he keeps swearing. I KEPT TELLING MY PARENTS AND THEY DID NOTHING. My brother even kicked me many times and I told them before responding and they did nothing. So there I am sick of him calling us all a b itch and sick of him beating all of us up. So what do I do, I delete a game after threatening to and having my brother swear at me again. A game that he has wasted his life on for three days. ONLY THREE DAYS! Guess what happens next. My dad takes away my phone and reprimands me about how much my brother has put into that game and how much terrible behavior I have. They then listen to him rant about everything they should do to me while he fake cries. "PUNISH HER TAKE AWAY HER PHONE, COMPUTER, AND PUT PARENTAL CONTROLS ON EVERYTHING! SHE'S SUCH A B ITCH THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!" He blames them and they listen. I'm no sure how much longer I can take this... what should I do? They then punished me and took away my phone and are planning on doing more. I'm ok with being punished but I mean for this kind of thing it's ridiculous. Right now my brother is telling my mom to get off the computer and go figure out how to punish me. |
Question: I lost something of my mom's (a ring she had found and did not buy).? Posted: 19 Apr 2017 06:16 PM PDT She asked me if I had it and I lied to her several times saying "I didn't take it". Somehow she got the lie out of me. I told her I put it in my locker at school, but now that I think of it I don't know if it is even there. I have lost it and now I do not know what to do. My mom hits me as a form of discipline, but I don't know how to resolve the situation. Please help! I need big advice |
Question: Help with family issues? Posted: 19 Apr 2017 06:05 PM PDT So, I know that others have it a lot worse than me, but I still want to get this off my chest. Since 5th grade, my dad has forced me to do sports that I do not wish to do. I used to enjoy then, I really did, but now it seems like a chore. He even got me a basketball tutor, and signed me up for a team that I hated. He always tells his friends how "amazing" I am, but when I do not play as well as he wished, he'll yell at me for hours, telling me how I'm a disappointment and an embarrassment. He tells me that I have no drive, that I'm just lazy and useless. Lately it has gotten more to the subject of my weight. He tells me that I am too fat and signed me up for track. When I am not as fast as he wished, he yells at me just as he did with basketball. When I hear him walking down the hall, my body tenses up too. I have straight As, and I was pretty proud of that, but I guess it's not enough? I don't know. He won't let me wear my glasses to school, because they make me look "bad". Lately I have been feeling strange too. I just don't feel like doing anything, and I usually feel very tired or feel like crying. I don't know what's wrong with me? I've been trying to stick to my 400 calorie max diet, but as I'm typing, I'm binging on Ritz crackers and I feel like ****. Earlier today, I tried to make myself throw up too, but that didn't work. I'm planning on doing it again tonight, to get rid of the 2000 calories I'm eating. |
Question: I'm so sick of my family? Posted: 19 Apr 2017 05:51 PM PDT Our family is just so broken. My parents fight all the time, but won't get a divorce. We all know it'd be better in the long run and way easier than this sh*t happening. I have to share a room with my overly nosey sibling and I get no privacy. I can't even talk on the phone without being harassed. my parents don't know how to do anything but yell at me, and it's why i have depression issues. I can't talk to them, trust me, I've tried and all they do is put blame on me and say it's my fault and point out all the things I've ever done wrong. Please help me. I don't want to live anymore. I live in a constant state of anxiety, and I'm so sick of feeling alienated, alone, etc. in life. My sibling acts like another parent, but a sh*tty one at that. I'm always jealous of those siblings who can tell each other everything and help each other and act like best friends. I'm so alone |
Question: I really wanna move out of home but I'm only 16. What should I do? Posted: 19 Apr 2017 05:25 PM PDT Hi everyone, I'm 16 but turning 17 in June and I absolutely can't STAND living at home any longer. I live with my mom, grandma, and older brother whose 26 and doesn't work, drive, or even have an HS diploma. I live in a tiny 2 bedroom apartment and have to share a room with my mom. My grandma sleeps in the livingroom. My brother takes up a room that I can be in but my mom does nothing but enable him by buying him video games and not putting her foot down and telling him to find work. I have a boyfriend who I've been dating for about a year and whenever he and I wanna video call, I gotta do it in the bathroom. We barely get any privacy because they're always knocking on the door like every 10 minutes saying they gotta use the bathroom. My boyfriend is 17 and going to college this fall and when he finishes, I plan on moving in with him as he will be moved out when he's 18. But that's a year from now. I wanna get out of here ASAP. Yes I know I should be happy I have a place to live, I'm very happy that I'm not out on the street. I just want my own privacy and space of my own. I only get alone time on the weekends when my mom goes by her boyfriend. I applied to college as well and I have been looking for jobs but there's no jobs near me yet. Is there anything else I can do? I'm a guy btw so I can't like do babysitting or any female jobs like that. I just want something that will pay enough so I can possibly find a small place. What do you suggest? Thanks for your help!! |
Posted: 19 Apr 2017 05:17 PM PDT So i am 12 and I got into a fight with an eleven year old. He punched me and he only had to have a note sent home, while I had a note sent home and got a paddling infront of the whole class. Also I go to a Quaker private school where we don't use violence so doesn't paddling count as violence? I feel like the teachers dislike because I am "Talkative Rich Kid who doesnt have to work a day in his life" And I do work, I have chores at home when the housekeeper can't make it. |
