Just got out of a 4 year relationship and she walked out on me. very depressed but realize she was immature irresponsible and much younger than me and did not have the maturity ti handle when things got rough. But I do want to have a few years of fun before kids and marriage. I live in an area where its all small towns. Its very hard to meet people. And people aren't exactly friendly here anyway. So its hard to meet good people. Most of this area consists of old people or people younger than me, how am I supposed to find someone like who Im looking for? My mom was diagnosed with bile duct cancer with less than 6 months to live, right after I accepted a new job with a 30% pay increase. I am a single mom and live in a different state than my mom. Its a 10 hour drive. I am going to try and see her as much as I can, but If i start this new job, I am unable to go there as much as I would like. What do i do??? Should I take it? Me and my boyfriend are both 19, and we've been together for 4 years. He's such a good guy and easy to be around, I love him, and I love the way he treats me. I'm a hispanic woman and I'm going to be married to a white man. I'm seriously considering whether or not I should change my last name. (my last name=Martinez. His last name=Stark). Obviously the decision is ultimately up to me regardless of anyone's opinion on here, but I'm very torn between keeping my last name vs changing it and I thought I may as well hear opinions from other people about the subject. Maybe it'll help me decide. On the "change my last name" side there are a few other factors. I really like the idea of our family all sharing a last name and don't like the idea of some of us having different last names. I know it's just symbolic, but I think it does show some form of family unity. Another reason is my father was fairly abusive to me when I was growing up. There's a part of me that would much rather have the family name of a man who loves me with all his heart and treats me with respect instead of my abusive father's. On the keeping my last name side I feel like my last name is in many ways apart of my identity as a hispanic woman. I feel like my hispanic heritage is an important part of who I am as a person and my last name reflects that. If my husband was hispanic I know I would take his last name, but he is not. Should I keep my last name or not? Explain why. To clarify, I said hispanic because I thin k it encompasses both a racial and ethnic background. Issue with my coworker. I quit my job because I started to like her. Started to make me a bit obsessed. I wanted to back off. Also many other reasons. Like too far away and school. Told this to her. She keeps me in the system anyway. I get called into work once in a while. Even though I don't want to. Knew my feelings would get the best of me. Tried to be her friend anyway.
