Question: I feel like my life is just being wasted how do I make things better? Posted: 25 Apr 2017 05:11 PM PDT I wake up go to school come home chill and just repeat the next day I just want to be in college already and have a change of scenery I don't know what to do till then I moved away from all my friends last year and don't see them anymore I can't make any new friends because everybody pretty much has their own group I know things will get better but I feel like I'm just wasting my time till I can get out of here |
Question: Is this too petty of a reason to switch roommates? Posted: 25 Apr 2017 04:56 PM PDT My roommate has a lot more money than I do, which is especially frustrating because she doesn't work and I do. Her parents must be pretty rich because they can afford to send bother her and her brother to school at the same time, while also having just bought a big house AND giving them both allowances for food and just general spending money. I don't know how many times I've come back from an exhausting day at work and opened up a pack of ramen just to sit through her telling me all about her day out shopping, buying an expensive dress and eating out with her friends. She spends more in one weekend than I make in a week, and gets upset with me when I constantly have to turn down her invitations to go shopping/out to eat with her because I'm not sure if I can make the months tuition payment just eating canned goods, ramen, and food I swiped from the dining hall. It has gotten increasingly frustrating and I don't know what to do about it, because it's not exactly her fault she has more money than me. Venting at her wouldn't be fair. I'm thinking finding a new roommate next semester might be my best option, but I don't know. I feel like it's a stupid reason to move out, plus I don't want to hurt her feelings. Any advice? If I do end up moving out, how should I explain the reason to her? I'd really like to stay friends, so I don't want to upset her. |
Question: How can I tell my friend to stop joking about killing herself? Posted: 25 Apr 2017 04:20 PM PDT She has minor mental health issues, as she told me. My friend killed himself last year, and it affected me really badly since I'd been trying to stop him (online, since we were in different continents) during school (only to fall asleep by accident and wake up to find out he was dead). This guy was also her friend, but I know she hadn't talked to him for a while, and was inactive in our big group chat, but she seemed really indifferent. She didn't even care. Even now, I refer to him as "my friend" rather than by his name because it's almost like she didn't know him. Anyway, I've also got poor mental health due to ptsd from child abuse, and other common insecurities, but my friend's death really made me dip low and I was constantly suicidal. I've improved massively, but I still have my times. Anyway, my friend knows this. She knows almost everything about this. She told me she felt bad since she's always making "kms" jokes in front of her friend on antidepressants, so I tried to comfort her by saying she could say it around me. That was my mistake. I don't really mind "kms", but she's been going through things with her ex who she still has feelings for. Hormones and stuff happen almost everyday, her ex does something like flirt or hint that she's still into her. Yesterday it happened, and she just kept saying "I'M GOING TO HANG MYSELF". She kept saying it and I was getting REALLY pissed off. She joked about it today, and I'm honestly done. What do I do without sounding… really mean and oversensitive? I feel like a special snowflake being sensitive about my friend's death, especially considering he's hers as well (but I don't know anymore). I told her not to hang herself, and she said she wasn't going to, which honestly pissed me off more. Anyway, I want to say it to her nicely, since she can easily get quite sassy. Thanks in advance. |
Question: Ways to help my best friend love herself? Posted: 25 Apr 2017 04:15 PM PDT I know it's long, but PLEASE READ. Since the fourth grade, I've been absolute best friends with this girl. Let's call her "Jenna". Anyways, Jenna and I really do have this crazy insane perfect best friendship, even though we go to different high schools now. We really are like soul-sisters, or whatever the best friend form of a soul-mate is. We love and need each other. Now that I've properly emphasized how much I care about her, I need help making her care about herself. She's really shy and anti-social, and no matter what I tried she just devotedly believes that she's going to end up single and in a dead-end job for the rest of her life because she thinks she's useless and not pretty. Now, I'm not just saying this as her best friend, she really is a beautiful girl and I've even heard her described as looking exactly like Anne Hathaway but with more curves (curves as in actual curves, because despite what "Jenna" thinks she's really not fat in any form of the word). She admits constantly to being jealous of me because I "get confidence so easily" no matter how many times I try and tell her what insane self consciousness I have on the inside, because she thinks that she's the only one in the world who has a tough time being social or feeling good about herself and doesn't understand that you actually have to give yourself a shot for this kind of thing. She doesn't want to go to college because she doesn't think there will ever be a job she'll be good at or enjoy doing. She hates the fact that she'll always be "nobody" but refuses to try doing something that might set her apart from somebody else. Please, this girl is like my sister from heaven and I love her more than life itself, PLEASE help me figure out how to help her love herself!! |
Question: Why does my friend recommend weird clothing? Posted: 25 Apr 2017 04:14 PM PDT My friend dresses very conservative (and so do I) but when we go shopping, she has bad taste in fashion. For some reason she keeps recommending skimpy clothing to me (example this long dress that looks like a fish net). |

Posted: 25 Apr 2017 04:00 PM PDT Holy **** I have never been so embarrassed. So I was smoking with my friend and his 2 roommates in a dorm room in college bathroom and mind you ive only really smoked twice before this and they are all super experienced and smoke a lot. Well we were doing the water bottle in water method and we used a 2 Liter bottle for our bong. I took two huge hits in one breath and then on the third hit I felt like I was going to puke so I made one of my friends move so I could lay over the toilet. I then laid down and got up 10 minutes later and puked a ton and I am just so embarrassed and I don t know what happened and wow I don t know if I can face them again they are probably just going to laugh at me. |
Question: Do you blame me for this? Posted: 25 Apr 2017 03:43 PM PDT I work at a grocery store that's not super far from where I live. However, I don't shop there. I shop at a different store closer to my home (same company, different location). On days off, I just don't feel like "going to work"". And seeing my co workers and customers. I like to be and feel like a customer myself. What do you think? |

Question: Kinda annoyed with my friend's sister? Posted: 25 Apr 2017 03:20 PM PDT So me and my friend and her older sister went to a dog wash and it was based on time so one dollar equaled one minute and she kept telling me to add money because they needed more time and at the end they were still drying her and she was still really wet so I thought they would need another dollar so I put another one in it of course, btw it was my friends money and she was gonna get paid back by her mom. Anyways, so she casually meantioned after I put it in: "Oh we didn't need that." Not that mean so I thought nothing of it. Then, in the car my friend asked her how much we spent so she was like, "Oh well we spent 9 but we didn't need the extra one so technically 8." In a more annoyed tone. Then, when we got back to my friends house she told her mom, "Yeah it was 8 dollars but (my name) spent an extra one when we didn't need it." And she rolled her eyes. But she did buy a freaking toy there and spent two more when we didn't even need the toy and she never said anything about that when she was complaining to us about me and the extra dollar. Then she was like "Yeah the toy was definitely worth it." Like your dog was soaking wet and I added a dollar and you got her more dry. What's your opinions on this? |
Question: Was this guy mocking me ? Posted: 25 Apr 2017 03:14 PM PDT Okay so I was on a forum and had a photo of myself as my avatar, but I had two heart filters on my eyes, so you couldn't really see all of my face, and I did it for privacy reasons. Anywho, I was playing a game in a thread where you had to say "yes or no" if you would go out on a date with the user above you. So I had joined in because it was early and I wanted to have a bit of fun. I said "yes" to the user above me. The next username simply said "sure, I would *-*". I'm not sure if that was sarcasm or was he mocking me because I had a filter on my face. ? What did *-* mean ? After that he kept quoting me for no reason at all and asking very stupid questions when I had humorous responses, then he followed me into another thread after I left the game and gave me some random positive compliment. |
Question: Can learning disabilities get worse? Posted: 25 Apr 2017 02:54 PM PDT I have a niece who's 22 with autism and learning difficulties in maths and understanding things. She seems to be getting worse though and going backwards, her handwriting and spelling isn't as good as it was and she can't do much for herself sll she wants to do is play like a child. Is this possible? She's only a load of different medication which could counteract could this be the cause? |
Question: My 2 best friends are graduating next year and I'm a freshman...? Posted: 25 Apr 2017 02:19 PM PDT I'm so scared... They don't know how much I care about them and want them to succeed but- at the same time I don't think I can handle them leaving. I feel like they won't care and I will be nothing to them. Someone who never existed. What to do? |
Question: Do I wish my ex best friend a happy birthday? Posted: 25 Apr 2017 01:54 PM PDT My ex best friend got into an argument that caused our friendship to cease. I tried apologizing and resolving it and when I asked if we were still friends she said she didn't feel like we resolved anything. I then asked her if we could try talking it out again and but she ignored my text message and never answered me or tried talking again. Her birthday is coming up in a week and I was wondering if I should just shoot her a text saying "happy birthday" or should I let it go? She's still hanging out with my friends which is why I want to wish her a happy birthday so there's no drama that can get started in the group. What do you suggest? |
Question: A girl is mean to everyone but me (usually) , what should I do? Posted: 25 Apr 2017 01:42 PM PDT So for example she always has mood swings and it's really really annoying. She told me she is bipolar but I don't think that's an excuse to treat people like trash. She can go from laughing so hard to rolling her eyes at everyone and making snide comments, in a split second. Usually she's not mean to me but There have been times that she's been rude. If she's in one of her moods, occasionally one of her friends will ask her what her problem is and she'll snap at them and say stuff like "you're my problem you pathetic piece of trash" or something else equally as hurtful. But everyone always runs back to her, everyone always wants to be ____ first choice. Which I don't get? Once she was having a really deep conversation with one of our friends when they were at my house and they asked her why she's so mean to everyone. And she started saying how at her old school she was bullied and nobody talked to her and everyonemade fun of her. Ok, I'm sorry, but that's a complete lie. I went to school with her from 1st grade to 5th grade and then she transferred schools and then a year later I transferred to that school. If anything she was the most popular girl there, everyday she was making up rumors and picking at people to the point they would cry. And I'm 6th grade at the new school she got suspended for a month (yes I know it's long but it's true) for bullying a girl. I just don't get it. Her parents think she's a little angle but she's the exact opposite |
Question: Why is my friend suddenly being so horrible? Posted: 25 Apr 2017 01:26 PM PDT So I've been friends with this girl for about a year now. And it had a rocky start. She would team up against me with our friend and make me feel really bad. This year it started out great. We became good friends with two girls I've known since Pre-K and its been awesome. But recently she had started to get very competitive with me. Anything I say she either disagrees or one ups. She is dead set on proving me wrong and won't let it go if I am. She's also started teaming up against me with the other girls. She makes remarks like "oh you don't know her until you do this with her" and making me feel left out. Just the other day we were at dinner and the three of them started to make plans right in front of me to hang out. They knew what they were doing because they kept glancing over and laughing. Then when they did go out, they posted it all over social media. I got to hear all about it the next day. But today the girl started attacking my looks and personality. She told me I walk funny and that i look way younger than I am. When I said that a lot of people say i both look and act way older she said "well they're wrong" and continued to get on me. This is all driving me crazy and hurting my feelings, especially since she is acting as tho she knows people. I've been at this school since Prek and she showed up two years ago. |
Question: Why are people in this world so fake and out for themselves? Posted: 25 Apr 2017 12:47 PM PDT Every do called friend that I once had has back stabbed me in one way or another. One slept with my kids dad, the other accused me of wanting her married lover, another was talking about me behind my back to someone who she didn't know knew me, another planned with her brother to rob my house when i was out of town and my so called best friend who is male stopped talking to me because his wife was caught abusing an elderly patient at her job and i asked him about it. These are people i grew up with all black and i am thinking black people cannot be true friends. I am in my 30's now and im not being racist but this is more than one black person so i think i have a valid point that blacks are dishonest and will never be a true friend to anyone. |

Question: Is it bad to suggest to a friend that they should move to house closer to you? Posted: 25 Apr 2017 12:36 PM PDT Like, imagine one day you and one of your friends are hanging out together. Then you suggest to your friend that they should move closer to your house so you can hang out more often or mentioning something else about them moving closer to you. Keep in mind though this is not a friend thatis moving or selling their house. Is it unnessescary to suggest this to a friend? |
Question: Should I tell my friend s mom that she was raped by her brother? Posted: 25 Apr 2017 12:30 PM PDT My best friend of many years confided in me and told me something she says she d never told anyone else— not even her therapist. Up until the age of 15 (when her brother turned 18), my best friend was raped by her own brother. He d beat her and threaten her when she wouldn t comply and told her not to tell anybody about it. When she told me this, she said that she doesn t hate her brother and doesn t want him or her family to go through any more stress, as they have already dealt with their father s drug addiction. She told me I was the only person she trusted not to get the cops involved. So I feel obligated not to. However, I am moving in three weeks and if I m the only person who is aware of the situation, and as long as my friend and her brother are living in the same state, she is in danger and has nobody to get comfort from. I feel, as a daughter, that my mother would deeply appreciate it if my best friend disclosed this information to her. But I need advice, and I need to know if this truly is the right thing to do. |
Posted: 25 Apr 2017 12:27 PM PDT So in 5th grade I was considered tall I was 5'5 and I bullied everyone because I was starting in the basketball team. This one guy who was kinda chubby I bullied in and out of school. Well he hit a huge growth spurt, he's 6'5 in 7th grade and a star basketball player now. He continually bullies me, he pushes me into lockers, steals stuff and holds it over my head. He even took my back pack and put it on the rim of the basketball goal. When I had the gym coach get it down he lied and said I did it and his friends backed up his story. He continually makes my life a living hell. He threw away my homework destroyed my backpack. At one point at a party he flirted with my crush when I was trying to flirt with her and then kissed her in front of me and carried her away while they laughed at me. I know I was mean to him but I never thought he could hurt me or my social life this bad. What makes it worse is that he is a teen model for s clothing line and all the girls at my school love him now. He doesn't bully anyone else except me. It turns out he's being mean to me because I also bullied a close female friend of his into anorexia |
Question: A friend is having trouble login into their account. What should they do? Posted: 25 Apr 2017 11:50 AM PDT |
Posted: 25 Apr 2017 10:50 AM PDT I don't care that she's still friends with her; I'm not going to let my problems with my ex bff affect their friendship. Yesterday we made plans to hangout at my house but this morning she texted saying last minute work came up. I knew it sounded off but it can happen so I just brushed it off and said okay. I still have my ex best friend on Snapchat still and I can do this hack where I can view her story but she doesn't know I viewed her story and I saw my ex bff and my friend hanging out together. It's not them hanging out that upsets me, it's that she canceled our plans and lied to me about it. I feel like I can't trust my friend now. I just recently stopped being friends with my best friend(we had an argument) and ever since then my friend her girlfriend have been acting weird towards me but still friendly(I guess?). My friend just seems so shady around me now. They just seem more quiet around me and I just get a weird feeling whenever I'm around them. I just feel so lost and don't know what to do anymore. Should I approach my friend about this or leave it alone? I almost feel like my ex best friend is using her to turn against me. Ever since we stopped being friends, she's been acting like this towards me. We are all 20-21 and I feel that they are too old to be playing these kind of games with me. |
Question: Should I forget her? Posted: 25 Apr 2017 10:45 AM PDT A few years ago I met a girl who became my best friend for 3 and a half years. She cared so much about me, I even helped buy her first car. But at the end of February she thought I lied to her about something, so she came to my house to talk about it. In the end she didn't let me talk and she walked away and said "never talk to me again.". I slightly held her arm trying to explain but that night she messaged me and told me I crossed the the line when I put my hands on her because she was abused in the past. And later she blocked me. I sent her a long cute apology letter with flowers but she went to the police, and the cops asked me to leave her alone or I could get charged. We have not talked since the end of February and I miss her alot. Could she ever come back????? shes a great person but her past gets to her head alot |
Question: My legs are in pain, yet I am not sure if I have been doing these exercises right? Posted: 25 Apr 2017 10:35 AM PDT |
Question: Friends tease me a lot? Posted: 25 Apr 2017 10:17 AM PDT So, I have these friends in math class, and they tease me quite often. I know it's in "good fun" and they don't mean anything by it because I've been bullied and it's nothing like that. Sometimes they tease each other, but I feel like they mainly tease me. For example, today, one of them was like "where do you live?" And I told her where, and they made fun of me about it because it's apparently a "poor" place. And the kids at my school are sort of wealthy because it's an all private school that cost a lot(I'm here on a scholarship). They were like, "Can you take us to one of the parties your city? We'll wear gold chains and teeth and we'll sag our pants..." And things of that nature. And I tried not to get offended and make it into a race thing, but I mean I'm black and they're white, and it just seemed like they were being a bit stereotypical. Not only that, but one girl whispered to the other that I was a "hoodlum in hoodlum city." And when I pretty much told her that wasn't funny, she was all like "Oh, I call everyone a hoodlum. Even I'm a hoodlum," and tried to play it off. Then at the end of class, she asked if she could drive to my house and take me to the store. She said she'd bring thirty dollars to pay for both of us as if I can't afford something to eat or something. It's just stupid things like this that upset to me, and I'm not sure how to get them to understand that their teasing makes me feel like crap. |

Question: Why does this girl kick me in the balls so often ? Does she like me or hate me ? Posted: 25 Apr 2017 09:58 AM PDT She lightly kicks me in the balls and says it was an accident. Even if the kick wasn't strong, it still hurts.(she does that as weak as possible) After that, she hugs me and apologises. I don't do much back since she's hot and seductive( i have crush on her) That happened 3 times this month. She also sits next to me and wraps her legs around my legs.. For no reason. (we are 14yrs old) Why is she doing that ? She sometimes puts her head on my shoulder. |
Posted: 25 Apr 2017 09:44 AM PDT My professor wrote this to me in an email at the end of the semester. I've known him for several years and think of him as my mentor but was particularly touched by this phrase he used - hes very reserved and I never know what he's thinking - what do you think? |

Question: How to deal with an obsessive mother? Posted: 25 Apr 2017 09:07 AM PDT Okay so my mom is really obsessive with people... like it's all in or nothing at all. She thinks she does good but she goes way too far for people and we fight a lot about this because I'd never do that. Like to constantly "help" people pay for a school camp or buy them shorts or whatever. It's also irritating because my mom's so involved with some people like this one ex friend of mine and it sucks 'cause she's always at our house and when I talk to my mom about it she gets offended. My mom takes everything personally. But I feel like I just need a little affection, like real caring, not just my moms constant curiosity about everyone which she can use to go overthink with. I'm just so tired of my mom obsessing about other people because she can't have normal relationships. And I feel bad 'cause maybe I'm an awful person to get mad about it, but maybe it really isn't right. |
Posted: 25 Apr 2017 08:48 AM PDT There is this girl I know who tutors me in college and we always run in to each other and chat and I am so attracted to her in every way. She is the girl for me. But she is engaged to another man. This makes me so sad and angry. How can I get her to be with me instead. I can't stand I'm not with her and I will do anything. She is 31 and I am 25 by the way. I think she might like me to me too since she is rather touchy-feely always patting me on the back or shoulder. I don't talk to many people especially girls and she is the only one that has given me non school related attention (since she actually likes to chat with me)I have to be with her. I wish her fiancé would die. If it wasn't illegal I would kill him |
Question: Make friends online? Posted: 25 Apr 2017 08:43 AM PDT Anyone know a site where I could make some new friends online? I've tried whisper, Grindr (stupid but worth a shot), meetme, even Facebook. Just about everyone in the sites mentioned above wanted sex (Grindr is no surprise though) and I just want someone to play Minecraft with, Warframe on ps4 or just watch shows together or talk on Skype. Nothing romantic or sexual. Also, since I'm somewhat sad and desperate, if anyone wants to message me, my Kik is AruKagamine lol |
Question: Awkward Friend Situation.? Posted: 25 Apr 2017 08:32 AM PDT Recently I kept looking at my friend's phone, subconsciously, and I began to fear after the second glance that he'll think I want to take it or something. I think it was that fear alone that made me glance more than necessary. When I tried not to look strange. I was very embarrassed afterwards, and decided to talk about it with him in a joking manner, "I'm not going to snitch your gadget" - "hope it didn't look like it". I felt I only made things more awkward. Was this a terrible mistake? He's one of my good friends. I felt like it was an intensive thought on my part, like an OCD or something. He gets my humor and randomness |
Question: He likes everything I post on FB but never calls? Posted: 25 Apr 2017 08:24 AM PDT Him and I have been casually seeing each other for about 2 months. I don't understand why he chooses to like everything I post on social media but he never calls or texts me. Why do guys do these things? |
Question: What would you say or do? Posted: 25 Apr 2017 08:23 AM PDT My 2 best friends are always hanging out without me now & we all use to be super close. There's been times where they have invited me out but within the last month I've been stood up by one, or they are always together and never invite me. One even texted in our group chat about getting their nails done together &hanging out then quickly sent an apology text after saying that it was suppose to be a single text, clearly meaning it was just for my other friend & not me- which hurt my feelings. They always post on snapchat when they are together & I haven't hung out with them in almost a month. It got to the point where I was done feeling like a pity invite & a third wheel with them & if they weren't gonna invite or talk to me I wasn't going to care or go out of my way to talk with them. I didn't want to beg to hang out with them, they have my number. This week I got a text from one of them saying how we should get together soon. That same day, that friend put on her snapchat story of her & my other friend hanging out- why i wasnt just invited then to see both of them, i do not know. Now i just got a text from the other friend asking if I want to get dinner this week. I'm not sure what to do because i don't want to hang out & then watch them continuously hang out without saying something to me. I have talked to them about this before in the past. At this point my feelings have been hurt by them that I don't really even want to hang out with them. What would you do or say? |
Posted: 25 Apr 2017 08:17 AM PDT I am a middle school teacher. A guy there subs there often. He never speaks to me period. I say good morning he never speaks. I say have a nice day he never speaks. I can be in the teacher lounge/work room alone and he will walk in and not speak to me, then walk out, or if walk in he will walk out without speaking. Sometimes when he is leaving after school, and he has to pass my room by the exit doors, I will be in the hall or coming up the hall and he looks right ahead and won't speak. He does the same thing with the choir teacher, and we both find it odd because he speaks to other there. Does he not like us? |
Question: Awkward Friend Situation.? Posted: 25 Apr 2017 08:03 AM PDT Recently I kept looking at my friend's phone, subconsciously, and I began to fear after the second glance that he'll think I want to take it or something. He's one of my dear best friends. I felt like it was an intrusive thought, like an OCD. |

Question: How long can you hang with teenagers? Posted: 25 Apr 2017 05:50 AM PDT Well this is something i'm thinking about again and again. I will try to make a very long story short without going into so many details. I did go through alot as many children do when they grow up and i devolped a deep depression in 6th grade and it lasted very many years so i did never really have any good teenage memories (with friends). My parents didn't really react to it and today they say they didn't know what was wrong with me. I did actually get antidepressive medication for a while but they didn't give me a chance to talk about what i have gone through and i didn't eat it for long.. Much **** happened after that and i went back into a depression but not as severe but my social skills didn't really work back then. Now, to the question.. I'm 21 years old today and i have both have friends in my own age, much older and some younger friends. I begun at collage much later so many of the friends i know there is a few years younger then me. But how long would you consider it to be OK to hang with teenagers between 13-17 years old? I know some people would just don'tsay don't care about |

Question: Should I tell him myself or wait? Posted: 25 Apr 2017 05:28 AM PDT I'm dating my friends ex and I'm caught up in whether I should tell him about it myself or not tell him at all. I didn't mean for this to happen like this but it just did, I was friends with her before he even met her and she started talking to me more and more and after she broke up with him. During one night we were hanging out "it" just happened and we've been going out for a few weeks now. I really like her and wanted to ask her out before he did but the timing was bad. This friend was my roommate in college and we both know each other's families. He took it REALLY bad when she dumped him, like not get out of bed and miss work bad. At this point none of our mutual friends know anything but that could change soon, so I'm not sure if I should talk to him before that happens. Should I? What should I say? I honestly have no idea how he's going to react. |

He stopped talking to me after that. |

Question: Is this friendship over? Posted: 25 Apr 2017 12:24 AM PDT I've known him for about two years now. He use to date a friend of mine. We got to know each other quite well to the fact that after they broke up, I still kinda consider him one of my best friends. Anyway, I've been thinking a lot lately... I've always bought him a Christmas and birthday present. He's continually told me that he'd do the same but he hasn't. He finally did admit that he forgot about me. The only time we see each other anymore is when he wants me to do him a favor. Which I didn't mind doing at first. Anyway, he gets pissed when I say we're not friends. However, I've brought up the fact that friends call just to say hello and just to check in. Friends get back to you if you tell them that you need to talk to them. Friends know at lest a few things about you. He knows absolutely nothing about me and as mentioned, he ignores me until he needs something. He tells me not to overthink our friendship but something is telling my gut that this friendship is over. Am I just overthinking too much or is this friendship over? |

Question: How do two men become friends? Posted: 24 Apr 2017 11:04 PM PDT For some reason, I'm a guy and can make friends with girls, but with other guys I can't. I'm straight too. It's weird, 'cause most straight guys can't seem to become friends with girls. |
Question: My friend is annoying and irritating? Posted: 24 Apr 2017 10:43 PM PDT We ve been friends for a little over a year and now she s irritates me. - she s very negative - she gives up easily when she can t do something "good enough", and throws a tantrum - She s childish, and I m very motherly so it always feels like she relies on me to do things for her. - She lies so much and i hate when people lie about things that they don t need to - Everything with her is "me, me, me, me" or "I want the attention." - she always has to be the best and when she isn t you need to tell her, and it takes so much energy and time. - I got a letter to a university to participate in a program and I told my class and they were all happy for me but she said "Oh. A girl already got that. Look I m happy for you, but why didn t i get one. I should have gotten one." Those were her exact words. She got a letter a few months earlier for a really good program, and I was genuinely happy for her. So why is it when I finally get something good she can t reciprocate? I just don t know if it s me blowing this out of proportion, she has helped me like given me rides to school for a week or two, or a ride home if my parents aren t able too. She made my birthday a big deal and let me borrow a dress and got me stuff that she took from my birthday party the day before(recycled candies). But that was last year and maybe January. Now she annoys me and irritates me, I ve always felt like I did so much for her. and she just mooches off of it. I just need advice :/ |
Question: What does it mean when someone writes to you "thank you for being part of my story"? Posted: 24 Apr 2017 10:36 PM PDT My professor wrote this to me in an email at the end of the semester. I've known him for several years and think of him as my mentor but was particularly touched by this phrase he used - hes very reserved and I never know what he's thinking - what do you think? |
Question: Tired of my stoner friends? Posted: 24 Apr 2017 10:13 PM PDT I live in the dorm at a school near my hometown and usually come to my hometown on the weekends to hang out with my old friends from my high school who now go to a nearby community college. I've been a stoner for about a year, but have recently slowed down on smoking to focus on my studies and get my **** together. Yet my friends still give me **** and tell me I should smoke every day. They aren't understanding at all and it seems as if they think weed is the meaning of life or something like that. I don't honestly get weed anymore. It lost its fun a while ago. I've told my friends on multiple occasions how I feel about it, but they're very persistent. Should I just spend some more time up at college? At this point I don't really care. |
Question: Would it be right to let him now myself? Posted: 24 Apr 2017 10:10 PM PDT I'm dating my friends ex and I'm caught up in whether I should tell him about it myself or not tell him at all. I didn't mean for this to happen like this but it just did, I was friends with her before he even met her and she started talking to me more and more and after she broke up with him. Question: What does this mean? Posted: 24 Apr 2017 10:07 PM PDT So a girl and a guy make plans to hang out and get lunch... This is the second time they are hanging out together alone. The girl offers to pay for the meal since the guy paid the first time, but he firmly denies it and puts his card on the check. The girl keeps insisting, saying things like "I think it should be equal, don't do that.. you paid last time so please let me get it!!" until finally the guy budges and says "ok how about we just split it?" The girl accepts. They split the check. Mind you, they are "friends". They never classified this as a date and they are not in a relationship. The girl is interested in the guy, but the girl has no idea how the guy feels towards her. Does it mean that the guy is not interested since he offered/accepted to split the check? Does it also seem like the girl is not interested since she offered that way and didn't let the guy pick up the tab? |
Question: Is he interested at all? What can I do to possibly fix this? Posted: 24 Apr 2017 10:04 PM PDT A guy I met through family I REALLY like. When we 1st met he asked for my # and texted me to hang out. Its been months since meeting but we've only hung out about 5 times (w/ & w/o family). Granted hes a 1st yr surgery resident so his residency scheduale is terrible Last time we hung out (1 month ago) we were alone @ his apt He kept asking me Qs related to dating. On the topic he mentioned how he's in a "rly hectic time in life & he doesn't want to get serious with anyone until he is closer to being done with school.Insisting he knows he can't commit time so he just wants to enjoy life" Adding,"if I get serious w/ anyone right now it's bcuz I don't see anything serious with them. I don't want to burn down any bridges with a girl that I see potential in by pursuing her now when I'll mess it up." Then he starts showing me pics of random girls n asking 4 my opinion (???) He later asks why I don't go out more too, to actually learn what I want, i said "bcuz I am really picky & I would never date a guy if I didn't see marriage potential in him" He asked me to define "this guy" I am pretty sure I may have scared him away w/ my answer?! I know he's busy @ the hospital all the time but we haven't talked much since. I can't tell if he is interested AT ALL or I'm friendzoned. We go out to dinner & hangout.. I feel flirting & he always asks me so much about my dating life... Mind you, I'm 5 years younger than him(21 vs 26) he always tells me how I'm so young/still a baby |
