Question: Moms would you have done this? Posted: 17 Apr 2017 01:33 PM PDT I just got home from picking up my daughter at school. Since it was warm out and I did not go in anyplace and was only gone for 20 minutes I drove in my bare feet and did not bring my shoes. |
Question: My daughter is so obsessed with success that she won't enjoy life? Posted: 17 Apr 2017 01:09 PM PDT She's the opposite of most children, at least the ones I know. To put it in short, she wants to make the Forbes 100 youngest billionaires. She's very pretty (this isn't just me being her mom, because compared to the general public, she's definitely very pretty and well-dressed) but has never had a boyfriend or even been on a date! She's 21, for God's sake. At her age, I was going to parties, having sex, drinking, and in general having lots of fun. I honestly would choose to go back to then in a heartbeat. Instead, she's wasting it. You have to understand that I'm not saying to stop studying entirely, but she has to have some fun! She's also obsessed with money. When she got er driver's license, we offered to buy her a nice car, because we can afford it , and she definitely earned it. She refused, saying to put it in her college fund. Last summer, we asked her to come on a vacation with us. We expected her to come, and we were very excited, but she refused because of an internship. It infuriates me that she's so obsessed with success ad money that she isn't enjoying life or spending time with us. Did any of you experience this problem, and how did you fix it? |
Posted: 17 Apr 2017 01:02 PM PDT Like seriously. My mom tells me drugs are bad and all the cool kids in my school does them. So should I do them? I don't mean marriage you wanna. That's not a drug. It's a plant right? I mean like coke? My mom says it'll mess you up for life. Can you please help me. |
Question: Is it my responsibility to take care my mother-in law? Posted: 17 Apr 2017 12:57 PM PDT My 80yrs old mother-in-law has 2 children and both are 40s, one is married and have 2 kids, another one is engaged and has 2 step kids. They don't get along well with my mother-in-law for over 20yrs. My husband past away 15rs ago but I kept close relationship with my in-laws all these years. Now they are expecting me to take care their mother. I don't mind to help her out when she needs help but I feel they should be the main care taker and I help them when they need help. They only want to show up in family occasion, thanksgiving, christmas, and birthday, etc. Money is not their issue, just don't want to deal with her. I tried so many times to help them to have better relationship but they blame each other and nothing changed. Now one of the children is moving to out of state and asked me to take care of his mother. She could be a difficult person and lives by herself about a half hour away from me. What should I do? |
Question: Would you be embarrassed if this was your child? Posted: 17 Apr 2017 12:45 PM PDT as a teenage your son was only 5'3. He'd smoke weed, paint on buildings, hit his siblings and would cry at school. At work, he'd jerk off in the bathroom and a few men walked in and they could hear him moaning and sighing. He draws pictures of dead people and self harms. He failed a math quiz and ditched school for 2 days. |
Question: My sister told my family I'm a virgin. Lost sleep over it, what do I deal with this? Posted: 17 Apr 2017 12:33 PM PDT Also they made fun of me for not having a GF and very many friends and having a learning disability because all of my sister's know the second language in my area but not me because they're "special" apparently. |
Posted: 17 Apr 2017 12:33 PM PDT I only see her twice a year (the narcissist sister of my mother's). |
Posted: 17 Apr 2017 12:27 PM PDT My parents died when I was younger, and my uncle, who was named as my guardian, ended up looking after me. He doesn't give a **** about me and just treats me like an inconvenience. Does anybody else experience the same thing? I can't be the only person. |
Question: My little sister doesn t like my dads girlfriend? Posted: 17 Apr 2017 12:26 PM PDT I m 15, my mom passed a few years ago of cancer. My sister is 13. My dad started dating his girlfriend (whom we will call Jane) about 6 months after. My sister ( who we will call Ella) usually gets along with her but when we are alone Ella gets frustrated. She also has problems with getting along with kids at school as well as me and my little brother (8). Ella is making my dad feel horrible and this women is a great lady. I know Jane isn t doing anything behind any of our backs to her because my sister is never with her alone (not intentional my family is just busy driving places constantly lol). Ella is jealous and thinks our dad doesn t want to spend time with her but when he does spends time with Ella, Ella argues with him the whole time. Any mom s or someone out there with suggestions on how to fix this or what me or I can ask my dad to do? |
Question: How do I get my Dad interested in having a relationship with me? Posted: 17 Apr 2017 12:10 PM PDT He hates my Mom but that doesn't mean I am bad. I miss out because of whatever he hates my Mom for. As a result I feel like something is wrong with me. |
Question: My cousins wife doesn't seem to openly interact with me? Posted: 17 Apr 2017 12:09 PM PDT I'm 19, and my cousin is likely in his late 20s early 30s, and I feel weird being around his wife. She doesn't seem open to openly interact with me after 3 years knowing her. She gets along well with both my sisters who are around the same age, and shows respect for both my parents. My dad is the second oldest uncle in the family. I have never shown any bad intentions about her, but even a simple greeting handshake, our hands contact one another for one seconds and she let's go, as if I have germs. She smiles which is something, but often shows a weak smile too. I feel weird doing a simple greet. My cousin though, is such a really chill person. I can see he loves and cares a lot for me. We get so happy to se each other. He jokes about me sometimes, but he is cool with everything. His wife seem as if she isnt interested in other men, but she loves his husband dearly. She interact with his brother in-laws, and guys who are nephews of my cousin. She doesn't even care if she greets me if its not obvious. Her parents are one of the sweetest I've met. They are so nice to me and my family. Her older brother and I are good friends, even her younger sister is open with interacting with me. My cousins who have married their wives from other countries are open to interacting, they even make sure they greet me properly. To sum it up, my cousins husband doesn't interact with other guys besides his in-laws and nephews and immediate family. Any thoughts on how to handle this? Or her point? |
Question: My mom wont let me vape with my nicotine free vape pen in her house or car.? Posted: 17 Apr 2017 12:06 PM PDT My mom has always been a control freak. By the way I'm an ADULT and not 18 yrs old but fully an ADULT with one daughter who is 3... She won't let me use my vape pen in her car or house. I have never really gotten along with her and I think the whole thing is really petty and stupid. ALSO in case YOU all were wondering..I GOT A VAPE PEN BECAUSE i over eat when I'm bored because of oral fixation and constantly having to move my hands while watching tv. I thought it would help a lot with over eatting and snacking. Its literally harmless. I could see maybe if it had nicotine , weed or a harmful drug in it why she would try to tell me no but it doesn't . It's literally just vape Juice and she knows that. My mom treats me like a child because she gets satisfaction out of one uping me and im tired of it. I'm not trying to come off bratish.. . I'm a adult not a child and im minding my business not harming anyone. I dont even blow the smoke in her face. AM I OVER REACTING OR CAN YOU ALL SEE WHY I'M FED UP WITH MY FAMILY ?! |

Posted: 17 Apr 2017 11:07 AM PDT I snuck out and told her I was going to my aunts and really went to my dads she hates my dad. She found out because she drove past my dads house and saw my bike there. I rode my bike over as I am only 15 and can't drive. |
Question: Does my daughter have a brother? Posted: 17 Apr 2017 11:04 AM PDT My boyfriend of 4 years has an ex who has a 5 year old son. She was pregnant when they were together so naturally my bf signed birth certificate. Turned out baby boy wasn't his bc she cheated and lied. He's done DNA to prove he's not father and doesn't pay child support after she tried to take him to court for not supporting her and her son. He's also sent her paper work so that she can get her son's last name changed to hers. Baby boy still has my bf's last name. Bf and myself have an 8 month daughter. Since both children have same last name and legally same father Does that mean they're siblings?? Ex is still teaching her son that my bf is his father even though she knows who the biological father really is. What do I tell my daughter? What if we run into them one day and both kids call him dad? Should I let them know each other, or tell my daughter that the boy isn't family? |

Question: What do I do when my boyfriend is scatter brained and not really all there ..?!? Posted: 17 Apr 2017 10:11 AM PDT So this has happened before,my boyfriend is a lawyer and works his own law firm. But he would still text me even at work even though he would get distracted or when he didn't have much work. For example, last month he kept on spoiling me and paying attention to me and always talking to me but for the past 4 weeks.. we barely talk and it's like when he texts me he's not even there mentally . He said he is sorry and is just scattered brain rn and has a lot on his plate and that he promises to do better and that he intends too,and that things will lighten up again... and that he will make it up to me....the thing is,we're long distance like 3 hours away but do want to move in together soon so when I don't hear from him It's like I feel disconnected from him and I feel like he's not really all there like vague It's not like he doesn't want to be with me because I gave him many chances to run I've asked him lol. we were broken up from October to January, because he has stress and health problems in his life so in January he was the one who came back to me and wanted me I just feel really unwanted 😕 |

Question: My uncle (who has legal guardianship of me) is refusing to give me my medication? Posted: 17 Apr 2017 08:40 AM PDT He got mad at me over something stupid 5 days ago and I am 5 days late doing my shot...meaning my hormones are going crazy and I have a chemical imbalance in my body...What should I do? BTW I don't want to talk to him right now because the day before yesterday he screamed at me and threatened me in the middle of an easter party in front of everyone. My aunt knows he hasn't given me my medication but hasn't said anything about it... Please don't be rude because people on this website usually are BTW the reason I can't talk to him is because I already had ptsd and screaming shakes me for days |
Question: How can I make an excuse to my mother? Posted: 17 Apr 2017 07:44 AM PDT Hey, I'm in my teens and my Dad is going to buy me a Canon EOS 70D with like, a microphone and lens. The problem is that my mother will question me where my dad got the money from. Me and my Dad cannot think of an excuse to tell my mum how I got the equipment. (my Dad doesn't want my Mum how much money he has, and they're not together) Thanks in advance. |

Question: Would you forgive your mother for giving your child to the child welfare system? Posted: 17 Apr 2017 06:32 AM PDT I was on cocaine 3 years ago, with a man I thought I loved. I was going through rough times so I signed over rights to my mother so I could get back on track. zi tried really hard but drugs can take a hold of you. My mother took care of my daughter for 7 months before she decided to give her away to Child protective services. she said "it was too much of a hassle" shes a healthy 47 yr old psychiatrist with 2 buisnesses. No my daughter was not her responsibility but everyone needs help. Now I can never see her again, she will be 4 this year. I can't forgive her because my mother mentions her I get pissed off. she tells me my daughter will look for me one day, blah blah but how could you do that to your own grand daughter let along child. btw im 3 1/2 years clean and working a full time job with an AA in Communications. With another child who is healthy and happy. Thanks for your responses. |
Question: Should I cut off contact with my mother? Posted: 17 Apr 2017 06:25 AM PDT 3 Year ago when I was very depressed and suicidial after a long divorce and custody battle with my abusive ex husband. I called my mother and told her, I didnt wanna live....her answer was go ahead we'll cremate you without a funeral, btw shes a mental health psychiatrist. over the years she has done down right evil things to me. she calls my ex husband and gossips about me. she goes around telling people i abuse my kids(they dont receive spankings at all) She calls CPS when I dont follow her rules (example" dont put your child on socks with a footed onesie" and i still do) then its neglect. If i havent went shopping for a couple days but the kids have food, shell call and say we have no food. She once said i needed time out so i went out on st patricks day came back before 12 had a couple drinks (im 26) and cps was at my door 3 days later saying im a drunk someone called in on me....mind u i just moved into my new house 4 months ago..out of state!!! that was my first drink in almost a year. I'm a nursing student with straight A's living drug free, new home, great job...but this point in my life im ready to let my mother go. He brings misery to my life. popping up at 3 am to see if anyone is at my house, invading my privacy, trying tot take over my children. gossiping with tmy ex about me. when he kept them for spring break he didnt want to bring them back and i didnt know why until i read all her emails bashing me. i had to invite him to my home to squash it all, help |
Question: Help me and my sisters escape my father's years of abuse. Please? Posted: 17 Apr 2017 05:37 AM PDT My life has been a series of suffering and I'm the perfect victim. My "father"- filled my life with nothing but hatred and it is consuming me. It's an ongoing nightmare. I remember what it was like being younger; I'd lay in bed and be afraid to close my eyes. And I always heard his footsteps rushing down the corridor. Every step made me shudder and filled with so much fear. He hit me like I was ... not even there. The pain was unbearable but then I became the perfect victim. I am now, impervious to pain. You're probably wondering why I never reported it. Simply because "child abuse" was natural where I lived and where I came from. I had no rights. The only way out of this is to move to another country. And we (me, my mother and my sisters) have and he occasionally visits. I moved to Sweden about 9 months ago and I'm afraid to report him, because; A- I'm not considered a Swedish citizen yet. B- The immigration papers are in his name. We moved by a business immigration - basically he has a business running with someone (and it has to keep running until we are citizens) and we need him financially or else we'll be sent back. (I'm not a refugee.) If it's in his name, and this immigration gets "revoked" then me, my sisters and my mum will be back to hell. I'm also 18 but I moved back in with my mum to help her with my sister who has autism. What do we do? I want the best possible life for my sister but I don't understand how the law works here. Please help me before I kms. |

Question: My mom won't stop smoking? Posted: 17 Apr 2017 05:21 AM PDT I don't know who to turn to anymore. My mom's been smoking ever since I can remember, I even remember being 8 years old and using my grandmas flip phone to try and get a picture of her smoking to show to my grandmother and grandfather, because they didn't know she smoked. She promised me recently she'd stop, but yesterday in front of guests and me she smoked at least 4 cigarettes, I couldn't take it and started crying and ran to my room. She smokes at least 2 times a day, and even more frequently on weekends. I've cried to her about it, explained to her how much it hurts me, even threatened to hurt myself if she didn't stop, but all she says is that it's her decision and that I have no right to tell her what to do. It's unfair, her decisions have a direct affect on me and our future. Who'll have to pay down the line for cancer treatment? Who'll have to organize her funeral? Who'll have to live without a mother because cigarettes had a priority over anything else? My dad's on her side even though he doesn't like smoking, he just tells me to let her do what she wants. What do I do? I've cried countless times over it, but I guess I'm not worth stopping for. |
Question: My sister wants me to have a baby for her what do I do? Posted: 17 Apr 2017 05:00 AM PDT I'm a twin and my sister has had a hysterectomy due to medical issues. She basically wants to do the whole turkey baster thing we would be using my eggs so if i were to do it i would be giving my own child away her logic is that since we are twins the baby is basically hers. As soon as she asked and explained this in my head i had already said a big fat hell no im sure most people would say the same its a lot to ask of someone how do i let her down easy or is there no way |
Question: Why do bad things keep happening to me? Posted: 17 Apr 2017 04:00 AM PDT Pretty recently bad things keep happening to me. Most of my cats died, my grandma is in the hospital and she could die any second, and other little things keep happening. I keep thinking about it and it makes me annoyed and sad. Why? |
Question: My sister said I ruined her birthday? Posted: 17 Apr 2017 03:35 AM PDT Can someone tell me if they think I did or if she was overreacting? She had her 18th birthday party this weekend and my mum and dad took us out for a very fancy meal. When the waiter took our drinks order I just asked for a orange juice while everyone else ordered something alcoholic. He asked how old I am and when I said 15 he then said as I'm with my parents it's legal to have an alcoholic drink with a meal if I want to. My parents said I could so I ordered the same as my sister. As soon as he went away my sister kicked off saying I have ruined her birthday and that apparently she had spoken to my parents in private a few days before asking could she drink alcohol and me not to?! I only had a few sips and gave her my drink as I didn't really like it. She drank both and continued to sulk the whole time. My dad looked like he wanted to cry and in all the photos he looks upset. Did I really ruin her birthday? I feel she was ruining it for herself. |
Posted: 17 Apr 2017 03:03 AM PDT yesterday i had an argument with my sister because i was going to start eating early but she asked "why are you eating early" when we had guests over and i replied that i am hungry. there were no chairs so i was gonna pull one over so i was next to my mom and she put the water jug there and stood there talking to the other people eating. then i said whatever and told her i ll eat on the side of the kitchen near the stove standing (cause i was so hungry) and then when someone realized i was standing she offered to sit but then i was bombarded with people asking me why i m not sitting in the first place so i blamed her and then she started crying upstairs. everyone made me apologize because we celebrated her birthday that day and it s her 21st birthday. (i m 15) |
Question: My mom found my weed (i m 15)? Posted: 17 Apr 2017 02:36 AM PDT so I m 15 years old and my mom found my weed, i had it in my bag with an apple and a lighter. i had tried it for the first time with my boyfriend bc i wanted to try it and i just wanted to experience something different for once. i m always in my house either doing homework or going thru facebook. i have fairly good grades also so i thought trying weed would be a cool experience well the thing is my mom found it and texted me saying she found it so i told her everything, i didn t lie. but she cussed me out and told me i was going to end up like my uncle who is a drug addict. i told her i only tried it once and i told her all the pros and cons of weed. but she doesn t care. In my mind i honestly only wanted to try weed once just for the experience and so i can say that i ve smoked weed before and all that. the last thing i wanted was to hurt my mom. i don t know what to do anymore and i m scared to go home. i honestly don t care about the weed i haven t smoked in in a month and it was just that one time i smoked it but she doesn t understand that. i don t know what to do, she told me she lost all her trust in me. what can i do to make things better? i hate being a bad daughter. please help me. |
Posted: 17 Apr 2017 12:21 AM PDT My 23 year old sister and her 25 year old boyfriend and their newborn baby moved in with me and my mom and my older brother. We have a 3 bedroom house. Me and my mom and brother each have our own room while my sister and her baby and boyfriend have the basement and Upstairs living room. My brother goes inbetween my moms and dads houses and sleeps at both. We've lived in our house for 12 years. Because my brother goes back and fourth my sister and her boyfriend are pressuring him into giving away his dog and letting them have his bedroom so they'll have more space. Neither my sister or hey boyfriend have jobs they use my moms money for everything while she works 16 hours a day. Now they're trying to get my mom to quit her job so she can help them take care of their baby. My sister hates me and has gone as far as to choke me while she was pregnant so I couldn't hit her back. My brother is the only person who likes me and if he leaves and gives them his room I'll be by myself. I just don't think it's fair that they're guilting him into leaving by saying "your nephew needs a room". My brother is a really nice guy and I'm pretty sure he'll say yes even though he told me he doesn't want to. I don't think my sister or her boyfriend are planning on eve leaving. They even talked about putting all of our healthy pets down to die so their baby won't have to be around animals. I know this is long but this whole situation has me so mad. What can I do? |
Posted: 17 Apr 2017 12:19 AM PDT My father died and left the apartment and the holiday house wiith animals to me and my sister. My brother in law is lazy and does not earn anything. I work for average salary and payed for 20 years my father's bills on two places because he did not had enough money after the retirement. The bills that I payed are worth half of my sisters share of the apartment because she never ever showed up to help my father. But, I am willing not to ask for that except now I can't continue paying and finance my sister and her lazy husband. I told my sister that the farm animals need to be taken care of, they need to be fed, at least the ones that he wanted us to keep and that we should make the fence at least. My sister said that she has no money, I told her ok then what do you suggest to do, on which she told me no I have no money and if you take care of things than I will have nothing of the heritage. I thought to myself that I can't handle everything and continue to finance my sister and brother in law if she is so in denial and not wanting to involve what should I do? BTW even when we asked for my brother in law to make the fence because that's what he does he said that it's too hard work, he does not have the material... When I said ok I will provide material he than again said that he can't make the fence alone etc.. What to do? Should I split everything in half immediately and cut the cord? |
