A few nights ago, we had a pretty bad storm, thunder, lightening, etc. Something weird happened, my 5 year old daughter Julie, got pretty frightened by the storm, but, rather than call for me, she got out of bed & called for my 14 year old daughter Callie instead. More thunder hit & Julie started crying & they hugged it out in the hallway while Callie comforted her & let her sleep in her bed. My wonder is, why was I not called for? Obviously I'm not annoyed or anything, but, why would she run to her sister for the first time?

Question: I was just hanging around with me my mom and my sister and i was being annoying and she slapped my so hard my nose started to bleed?

So my girlfriend still shares a room with her parents, she has her own bed, dresser and shelves and everything. But here's the thing, it's not because there house is too small, it's a three bedroom house and it's only her and her parents. I don't see why she couldn't have her own room, there's nothing in the two other rooms. So is this normal? I can't think of any reason why she should share it.

I'm 13 and I don't know what to do anymore. Please if you're just here to tell me that I am an attention seeking brat, then there's no need, because I already know.. I guess all I really want is advice from people who actually know what I'm going through...So I guess this is the part where I tell you guys what's wrong with my pathetic life. Well I live in a house with my mom, grandma, step dad, uncle, and my younger sister. My step dad and mom are alcoholics. My step dad abuses my mom and grandma. He pushes them and shoves them to the ground. Everyone in my family is constantly fighting. This has been going on since I was 5 and I can't take it. I can't even begin to explain how many times the police have been to our house and yet he still lives here and my mom keeps allowing him back. Now I'm 13 and I feel depressed and I have extreme anxiety. I have trichotillomania (I pull out my eyelashes when I'm anxious). I am also experiencing a lot of confusion with my sexuality. And to deal with it all I self harm.. Not to mention school sucks. Coming from a Korean family my grandma and mom (of all things) are actually really strict about my grades so I get all A's. Although thats really stressful, the main thing I hate about school is that I have no friends. I don't do anything over the weekends. I don't do any sports. I have absolutely no life. I just don't enjoy my life. I have no interest in anything anymore. I know this is a lot so thank you to those of you who read this.

I'm 17 years old & in my 2nd serious relationship. Before everyone jumps to conclusions, i'm not one of those "omg i'm so in love" girls, but I do believe that it's possible important for teenagers to have relationships to learn about themselves. I was out with my friends Saturday night & went to ask my mom if I could spend the night with someone. I said "how much do you love me?" & she replied an hour later saying "I found your Trojans tonight so not much. If i were you I'd get my *** home. & alone". I went home and expected a lot of arguing, but she didn't talk to me. All day yesterday she ignored me, barricaded herself in her room & wouldn't even look in my direction. Today when she left for work, she didn't say a word to me. Normally I'd get a "have a good day, i love you!". I'm really hurt by the way she's acting. it's childish of her to barricade herself in her room and ignore me. I just don't understand the problem if i'm old enough to make the decision for myself, I work 2 jobs so I obviously pay for my own condoms, & im aware of the consequences. she has refused to put me on birth control in the past bc she had a bad experience with it as a teen. I just don't know what to do, im a good student (4.1 gpa), i stay out of trouble, & i'm mature and responsible but she's treating me like i've committed murder. What do I even do? So basically I'm a 19 year old female and my mother and I have never gotten along. I was even put into social care when my teacher found bruises on my body. I recently came out of hospital after a suicide attempt and returned to my biological parents afterwards because my Forster parents were worried I'd commit suicide. And for a few months afterwards I was depressed, not in education had no income. My mom and step dad were extremely unsupportive and made me feel like a loser. They were extremely stingy and wouldn't even give me £5 for travel. So I said fair enough, I SOMEHOW found the courage to get a job and enroll myself into uni. Now that the tables have flipped and income is coming in all of a sudden my mother asks me quite rudely for £100 because she wants to buy herself some new clothes. I tell her no because I'm saving up for a car and to move out. So she calls me a selfish daughter because she gave birth to me and I shouldn't have a problem with paying her. It's not like I've never helped before she asked me for £150 in the past because she got laid off and the money was necessary at the time. But she's making me feel like I owe her my income for no good reason (shopping.. Really?!) which is making me not want to give her a DIME. Am I wrong?

I'm only 13. This happened when i was maybe 11-12. I don't remember too much of it. I don't know why. It was my stepfather. He was such a nice guy. Always bought us mcdonald's and what not and my mother is so in love with him. Then one day he came over, my mom wasn't home so he decided to wait. I remember him touching me and him forcing me to touch his penis. thru his pants. It was hard i guess. I didn't say no or tell him to stop. i just sat there. he told me to come sit on his lap and i told him that i was too old for that stuff but he kept insisting. i think i did but i don't remember. i was fighting if i should tell my mom or not and i did . she was crying all night. she confronted him a few days after and i remember him running down the stairs mad at my mom. that night she told me that i must have mistook his actions and that he didn't "mean" it in that way. she told me to not ever tell anyone what had happened and he still comes around, and she acts as if nothing happened. Just a little background, I have been in a relationship with my boyfriend for about 5 months. We are also both 19 (doesn t matter but I thought I d just include that in case you re wondering) People don t believe me when I say this but him and I have never had sex before. We ve done other things but never had sex. The thing that s been bothering me lately is that almost every time I see my family (like aunts and cousins), they say to me "You need to go on birth control asap" or "Please don t get pregnant, you re too young to have a child" I completely agree with them and I am willing to go on birth control as soon as I get health insurance (I moved to a different state several months ago and currently don t have health insurance but I m in the process of getting it) Its just becoming a little too much because they re constantly discussing how I need to avoid getting pregnant. I've been a real jerk to my roommate, I call him string bean, mess with him, steal his food in the fridge and his drinks, but overall I was respectful minus some ball busting. This is going to sound awful but I'm not entirely sure but I think I may be pregnant. It's senior year and I think it happened on prom night which was April 8th but might've happened sometime at like 2am so probably April 9th. Anyways I'm only 18 and I come from a strict Mormon family with Mormon parents. Everything came out. Her husband was mad and my husband doesn't care. They're brothers and we all love together in a house. My cousin has 3 kids and I have one. When the truth came out because my brother in law was paranoid I told everything that I knew and I also told my mother and father in law and I went around to tell the family so they can know what she did. I used to not judge her and be ok with what she was doing because it wasn't me that was going to get in trouble. I kept her secret for months and I used to tell her that if everything would come out not to put me in it for anything or I would get in trouble too. Well she took all the blame and now I got her mom and dad and brothers and sister to be on my side. I don't talk to her anymore and I took her kids away from her. She's dead now because she killed herself over supposedly me and her husband "humiliating her" in front of the entire family. Her kids would call her a ***** also. She was. And she left a stupid letter saying that she was sorry for what she did and to take care of the kids, blah blah. She went and killed herself and now nobody is attending her funeral. Literally. There is no day in my house that will go by without some form of screaming, yelling or bitching, Almost everyday im told about how I can't do anything right, and I never lift a finger in the house. My mom tends to make up little lies about me. We aren't allowed to have any electronics past 8:45, and she's always making up lies saying that i was on my electronics when i wasnt, and that just turns into a screaming fest throughout the entire damn house, We cant talk about anything political whatsoever, or i get cussed out and screamed at about how im just trying to rouse up my mother or hiw im stupid. my mom has basically persuaded my siblings to hate me, and asks myautistic 5y/o brother from time to time "Do you love chloe?" and when he responds with no i hate her or some **** he laughs as if its the most hilarious thing in the world. They used to hit me, I rememeber specifically one time at 5 years old being slapped in the face multiple times and dragged by the hair for not being able to pronounce the word alligator. They stopped the abuse around the time i was in 6th grade and i told my therapist what they were doing to me, and they lied their way out of it and the therapist then decided i was just "seeking attention". i cant type everything shes done but thats just the general topics of it i guess, i just cant stand getting into pointless arguements anymore and im tired of being treated as if im a dog.

I want to go to Disneyland, but none of my siblings have been there before, so I want to do something special by taking one of my siblings. I would love to take all of them, but I can t afford it. I will eventually take all of them just not at the same time together. This would count as their birthday and Christmas present. Also I m the oldest. I just want to be the most fair and cause the least amount of issues between the siblings. Here they are.... Brother A: (15) he is one of the sweetest kids I know and is very hardworking. Super sensitive and can be pretty shy. He is so passionate about everything he does and has an interest in. He is a straight A student and is taking difficult classes. I would love to congratulate him on his awesome behavior. Sister: (14) me and her have been through a lot together. She s started hanging with the wrong friend group and is susceptible to go down the wrong path. I think going to Disneyland with her could make her realize that she is so loved, worth more and it would be a good time for us to bond as sisters. Brother B: (10) this kid loves California more than any kid out there. I would also like to help him stretch his imagination and focus on being a kid for a little while longer and disneyland is the best place to do that! I want to take them all but can only take one... so sad, but please give me some input.

My dad and I have been through A LOT. When I was around age 15 it was when we got in really bad fights that still taunt me. I'm 19 years old now and through the years it's gotten better, then bad, then good, then worse, good again, and really bad. Same story with my dad and my mom. They've been fighting for years. It's tiring. He is very head strong and stubborn. He's very cold hearted and easily agitated. If I or my mother say something he doesn't like he blows up and goes out with his friends and doesn't come back till tomorrow and when he does come home, he ignores us. For WEEKS. Even MONTHS. We try to make peace and apologize to him but he just acts like we're not here. My mother and I have learned to keep quiet even if we sense something wrong just so he can be happy.. we don't know what to do anymore or how to talk to him because he gets so defensive and blames us for everything wrong in our family. He thinks I hate him but I don't. I love him. I just don't know how to get through to him. Please, if there are any therapists, psychiatrists, or counselors out there please please help us. It will be very appreciated.

I never remember the dream when I wake up, but once I am awake I know I have another brother. I ve confronted my mother several times when I was younger, but she always said it was just a crazy dream. Finally one day she confirmes that I do have another brother, but he was my oldest sisters twin, and was still born. I don t believe her though. Something doesn t feel right about that answer. I ve dug as much as I can and can find my sisters birth records, but not any records of my sister having a twin, still born or not. So the next thing for me to think is that he is my twin. We met through online and we been chatting and video chatting etc for some months. We decided we're going to meet up in the summer but recently she's going through a lot of drama. She lost her job and her mother kicked her out with the kid and she had to go live at a close friends house for the moment. Right now also her kid is sick fever etc and she has no type of money currently coming in. I haven't even kissed this gal yet/better yet had sex with her yet and on top of things that's not my kid but I feel bad. I feel bad her telling me these things knowing I can help but idk........ My granddaughter turned 17 years old in January. The other night, she lied to her father (my son in law) and told him she was spending the night with a friend, but in reality she went to have casual sex with a 20 year old man at his apartment. She was planning on spending the night with the man, but he started doing drugs and my granddaughter got uncomfortable so she called her father at around 3 am and asked him to come pick her up. He did, and he asked her a bunch of questions that she answered honestly. (Who is that man? How well do you know him? Where'd you meet him? Were you safe?) My son in law told me and my husband about the situation the next day, and we freaked out, but he didn't seem mad or even upset. He said things like, "she's 17. 17 is the age of consent here. I don't understand why people make such a big deal out of sex. It's a natural part of life. As long as it's safe and consensual, I'm perfectly fine with it. At least she called me when he started doing drugs." He isn't going to punish his daughter for what she did, and he told us that he can't control who she has sex with. He's usually very strict and overprotective over his daughter, so I can't believe he's being so casual about this situation. I think that what my granddaughter did was very wrong and she deserves to be punished. Who do you agree with: me or my son in law?

So for my birthday I am going out to dinner with my family, friends and neighbors and all the family that is flying in I am guessing will be coming, but the problem is that the family I don t like which isn t really even my family, will be coming, and I don t want to be rude and say you can t come but I don t like them and they don t like me so why would I invite people who are rude to me, and I feel like during the dinner someone will say something to congratulate my cousin on the baby and I don t want that to happen because it is a dinner for my birthday not a baby shower dinner. So I don t know what to do. Let me know if you think I should tell everyone who is flying in that they are not invited to my birthday dinner because they didn t even fly in for my birthday they came for the baby shower, even if I love some of the people or if I should just tell the family i don t like they can t come?

I live in NYC and go to Queens college. I don't have a job yet but I'm looking really hard and trying my best. My family's moving away to Michigan, and all my friends and goals and everything in general just lie in this city for me. It means a lot but I have prob around like a spare $1k at most for myself rn. I'm only 18, can I survive here alone? Even if i can, should I?! I like my college and I doubt my gpa will suffice for a good college in Michigan and my financial aid may be cut off, and tuition there is much more. I already don't have many friends as it is, I feel overwhelmingly depressed and I don't want to move with all my heart. What should I do?

My mom is verbaly abusive to us and mostly my dad. She keeps accusing my dad of having an affair even though he spens literally all his time at work and home. He works no over time, takes us everywhere he gose. My mom on the other hand stays home all day, all her kids are grown up and she let's the house become a trash heap. What is she doing all day? I just spent the last hour fleshing out a fake Facebook to use to somehow figure it out but man. I feel like a creep. I just want her to stop yelling at him. Iv tried every other method.

I work at a hotel and didn't realize I brought home a new paint brush on my back pocket. My mom saw it and called my attention by insinuating that I'm a thief and stop taking stuff from the hotel when in reality I just forgot to put it back. She kept going with that over and over... Anyway, I got so pissed and hurt at that moment that got back to her saying when she's going to find a new job and pay off what she owes me which is $600!? By the way, she's already retired. So now i regretted for I told her. Did I screw up or hurt her feelings?

My mom has never been happy with me. I do everything for her. But she's never satisfied. She's smart, so I tried to be smart too. She plays trumpet and piano, so I learned to play and sing too. She reads a lot, so I read her books. She hates house work, so I do it for her. But nothing. Instead, I end up feeling more worthless. Instead, of being confident about my grades, she asks why I made Cs years ago. Instead of loving the music I play and sing, I hate it because she always tells me what's wrong with it. The kid over there missed every note, and I played it perfectly, minus one tone, and suddenly she hates me, but the other kid is awesome. Now I can't even play or sing without stopping before I even start cause I'm so afraid I'll disappoint. I can't enjoy anything. As soon as she messes with anything in my life, her overbearing control causes me to hate it. I can't even be comfortable with my boyfriend, because she constantly warns me it will never last. A little warning is ok, but she puts it to the point I can't even look at him the same. I've tried so hard to make her happy, but she never cares. She won't acknowledge me. I just want her to love me like she loves that phone. I want to be a important as Facebook. It's sad, but I envy that stupid iPhone. I wish I was an iPhone. Then maybe she'd be happy with me, instead of always telling me I'm useless. Please help. I've tried everything, but it doesn't work. I don't know what else to do. What can I do to make her love me?

She constantly yells and makes me feel like I m worthless. Everything I do is wrong and never good enough. Whenever I say sorry she always turns it around so that I m the one whose being passive agressive when thats only the case about 5 percent of the time. I really don t know what to do because talking to her is almost impossible and i don t even want to talk to her anyway because it will end up with me getting agressively yelled at. yeah, I need a little help here
