My best friend is getting married, and I want to buy her this as a bridal shower gift. It's not intended to be the main gift, and will accompany a gift that is more expensive and an additional smaller gift. I would have the item engraved to say "Building Our Life Together". I think that her and her husband will be able to enjoy this as a lighthearted, sweet and symbolic gift, and will be able to use it once they've purchased their new home. My mother disagrees with me, however, and thinks that this is a terrible gift.
