Question: Ex-friend confessed to me? Posted: 21 May 2018 04:39 PM PDT she is another girl and I have no problem with LGBT and I'm pretty sure I am also bi but I like guys more. not only that but we ended our friendship a long time ago. I was checking my messages she is another girl and I have no problem with LGBT and I'm pretty sure I am also bi but I like guys more. not only that but we ended our friendship a long time ago. I was checking my messages and saw during lunch she texted me saying she liked me. now that I think about it we started fighting and she started acting rude to me when I confessed to my crush who is a boy in my grade. of course it also makes me feel uncomfortable looking back because on a school trip we slept in the same room. I know she wouldn't have done anything, but it still bothers me. I don't want to hurt her and I want to help her, but I don't want to go back to being friends with her or date her. I need advice on this please help! P.S her texts were: I'm bisexual, but I find that I'm mainly attracted to girls. I have a crush on you. I'm sorry. I know you probably don't feel the same way about me. I'm sorry that I'm so pathetic and weak. I love you. |

Posted: 21 May 2018 03:11 PM PDT I live in a shared flat in the UK with 3 others. I'm totally fine about my flatmates having guests to stay for a few days or so, but I feel uncomfortable with the guest being in the flat without my flatmate who is hosting them being around, and also with the idea of someone I don't know having a set of keys. I raised this with my flatmate, and he thinks I have no case to be annoyed at this as he has always stayed in shared flats when he has traveled, and been given a set of keys to come and go as he pleases. If the situation was reversed and I was hosting a friend, then I would take time off work to spend with my friend, and I wouldn't feel right about leaving my friend alone in the flat with my other flatmates in case that would make either my flatmates or my friend feel uncomfortable. Am I being unreasonable by thinking that it's wrong for my flatmate to let a guest stay under these conditions? |

Question: Issues with my roommate? Posted: 21 May 2018 02:44 PM PDT my younger cousin moved into our office (i have another roommate) for the summer, she's 19, i'm 21, and she is just so stupid. i've been living away from my parents since i was 16, but she just always acts like she's better than me - smarter, prettier, richer, everything. her mom pays me $300/mo, when my roommate and i pay $900/mo. she doesn't pitch in for food, or help w chores, no job. my roommate and i have two jobs, go to school, & we cook & clean. she just lacks common sense. i came home for break, my sister was here, along w my cousin and roommate, so we were hanging out and talking and cousin goes aren't y'all supposed to go grocery shopping @ 6? i asked her if it was 6 and she said no so i said well there you go. my sister called me rude, but she hasn't had to live with this. today i was cleaning the front rooms for my roommates bday, i just asked her to take the trash out and she said she was having someone over. she couldn't even take out the trash? she never gives us any notice if she's having people over, not even a text - they just show up. we're fine w people coming over but we like to give a small heads up, & if you're going to be out late on the weekdays, just send a quick text. we work, we have classes, internships, we are busy. i was cleaning and i went to move my keys to the tree and she asked if i was going to work. today is my day off. i'm wearing a dress w no accessories, i have wet unbrushed hair, no makeup, and house shoes. obvi i'm not going to work. |

Question: I'm watching kids over summer! Ideas? Posted: 21 May 2018 11:37 AM PDT I'll be watching a 6 and 9 year old over starting in a few weeks. I'm working on getting my license but will have to use money from this job to get a car. Because of this, I'm limited to doing things around the house, taking them to the local swimming pool, things like that. What are some ideas that the kids would have fun doing so they aren't completely bored? The parents said if I didn't have a car all is fine, but I feel with my age it's expected. Any ideas are appreciated! Thanks! |
Question: Should I dump my friends? Posted: 21 May 2018 10:52 AM PDT So my two close friends have really disappointed me. They aren't the same people they used to be and it makes me really upset. Both are heavily involved in drinking and drugs and I was in the past but never to a point to where they're at and I'm over that stage in my life. Both care too much about popularity and have thrown me under the bus to get it. The other night they ditched me to go hang out with my guy friends without me even tho it was my idea for all of us to hang. They used me when I was considered "popular" and I'm not as much anymore cause I stopped drinking and doing drugs, and they won't even take pictures with me anymore because of it because I'm considered "not cool". I really want to tell them both to **** off because I know I deserve better, but it just makes me feel sad that I'm leaving a friendship behind even tho it's toxic cause I feel like I've wasted so many precious years and time with them and I just feel dumb now. I don't know how to deal with this or get over it it's really not as easy as it seems to. |
Question: Why do I pretend to have a social life on Snapchat? Posted: 21 May 2018 10:34 AM PDT I have insta and facebook but I dont do it on those apps. I have no life really. 22. No job, left college because i hated it and Zero friends. I only get out the house maybe once a week. Sometimes not even then. I see everyone online doing cool things. I tend to pretend that im out doing things to by taking other peoples posts from insta or something and posting it to SC. I know its sad, but I do it. A part of me wants friends and to have an adventerous life, but another part of me doesnt want to be bothered and is too exhausted to. |
Question: Parting with baby stuff? Posted: 21 May 2018 10:14 AM PDT A friend of mine gave us their baby swing when our youngest was born since they weren't using anymore. It's rather big and bulky and we're not using it anymore ourselves either. Our little one never really took to being in it. I've made arrangements with a friend of ours to pick it up since she knows someone who could use it. They're coming over this afternoon after we get off work, but now my wife wants to cancel. She's a little sad to see it go, but at the same time agrees that we need to get rid of it since we're making space for our daughter to switch rooms (my wife set a deadline of July 4th to have everything done). While we both agree having what we're no longer use/want/need gone before we make the switch will be easier than doing it all at once, my wife is extremely emotional today. I don't know if it's just her hormones, stress (there was a fire at her job, so she had to work on the weekend and is still handling clean up efforts), or exhaustion (mom of 3 and all the kids are sick). Should I reach out to our friend and cancel for today? I'm helping another friend of ours who sold her house try to get the repairs done before she closes (the neighbors reported her to code enforcement for repairs from the hurricane). It was our anniversary yesterday, but we were so busy with the kids and work, we didn't really celebrate. I don't know if I should try to reschedule until next week for things to calm down a bit? |
Question: How can you tell if your friends are fake/toxic? Posted: 21 May 2018 10:09 AM PDT I've had a lot of problems with "friends" this year. One of them has made my life and others lives miserable. All of this has made me lose a lot of trust in people and this person is very manipulative. It was hard to tell how terrible they really were until it happened. |
Question: What are statements that people makes to try to cause a fight? Posted: 21 May 2018 08:39 AM PDT What are the kind of statements people uses to try to start a fight argument etc |
Question: Roommate and her bf sleeping on couch? Posted: 21 May 2018 08:01 AM PDT I live in a large suburban house with 3 other girls. One of our roommates claims she's saving herself for marriage and when her bf stays over (sometimes a week at a time) they sleep on the couch downstairs. My other two roommates tend to tiptoe around in the mornings when they see them there but I've just had enough of it. I don't understand how sharing a couch is supposed to keep you virginal and I kind of don't care. I want to be able to make some breakfast and pack my lunch before I go to work in the mornings and that makes noise. I'm also done dressing for company to go get a drink of water in my own home. If I'm braless and wearing booty shorts, I'm no longer putting a robe on and sweating. My other two roommates think it's rude but I am tired of walking on eggshells for someone that doesn't pay rent here. Does this seem unreasonable? We have been careful not to ask for a portion of utilities or rent because we've heard if you let someone contribute in that way, that they are more difficult to get rid of legally. We're not renewing her lease and don't want them to have any sort of cause to stay after her lease expires. She's just not been a good fit. |

Posted: 21 May 2018 05:25 AM PDT Am I over reacting. I hire sitters for occasional childcare like Sundays when I work once a month. I had just hired a new sitter she was background checked, good references etc. she watched my kids at my place as I prefer that and then the idea is I don't her friends over etc. kids are 8 and almost 10 one with special needs. Kids told me I got back first she walked up to her car and left my kids in the bathroom apartment the car is upstairs not right outside like if it were a house. Then she had her friend come and park by my back patio and then she climbed over the patio and went to his car window and talked forawhile. She did leave patio door open to hear kids but could not see kids. My son took pics but she found out and deleted almost all them. Kids told all this and I have 1 picture as proof. I'm mad at the sitter for not being honest. Am I over reacting to her having her friend outside my patio and also giving her friend my apartment information without my consent. At this point I don't plan on using her again. I also pay a very fair wage for sitters and they should do their job not play around when working in my opinion. |

Question: Question about invite to the party? Posted: 21 May 2018 12:40 AM PDT There's this bar I've been going to for a year and a half. I know all the servers by name. I'm the regular there. There are others, but none who go there as much as me. I do it to get out of the house and to make friends, as I presently don't have many opportunities for socialization. Recently, one of the servers was having a birthday party, and she invited all of the other waitstaff. I didn't get invited. I know I'm still just a customer, but I've become friendly with most of the people who work there. I figure that if I were going to become genuine friends with people there, I probably should've gotten an invite to that party. But I didn't. Should I just take that as a sign that I've gone as far as I can at that bar socially, and just seek other, more constructive social outlets? |

Question: Should I try to find out if kids in my cabin at camp are wearing goodnites diapers? Posted: 20 May 2018 01:44 AM PDT I'm starting sleep away camp and I read that 10 percent of boys my age wet the bed. So statistically that means a few of the boys at my camp will be bedwetters and probably wearing goodnites diapers. I don't wet the bed but I think it would be funny to find out which kids are. Then we could play a prank like pull down pajama pants or something. |
