| Question: What does it mean if he is doing this? Posted: 16 May 2018 05:03 PM PDT This guy I know (and have a crush on) has started leaning in closer when he talks to me... Last we were hanging out in a group setting and on two different occasions he came up extra close to me and got closer than usual to talk (he leaned in closer to my face). He's never done this before... and he also proceeded to stand close behind me/to my side for a while. It definitely made me feel like he was singling me out and showing his interest, but I'm conflicted... Because it might be worth noting two other things that I consider mixed signals... 1) When leaving, we usually exchange a "side hug" and I have observed that he leans down when he does this since he is much taller... But 2) He hasn't asked me out yet and never texts to ask how my day was... in fact, he hardly ever texts at all. So, I decided to stop being the one who texts first... I've asked him if he wanted to hang out on a few occasions, but he's always had something else going on. :/ He doesn't strike me as a player because he is a great guy with good morals... he seems 'gunshy' if you know what I mean... it's just that his recent actions are confusing me so much. What could it mean? |

Wan't too long until we exchanged I love yous.. I took a little longer though. We talk for endless hours on the phone. He's jewish and I'm a catholic. Two very different people with very differnt religions that grew up in very different countries. I have very strong feelings for him. He loves to talk about the future, marriage in a few years and a family of our own..stuff like that but besides that we do share alot of common interests... he is the most wonderful human being i have ever met and i am convinced we are soulmates. Opinions? |

Posted: 16 May 2018 04:33 PM PDT so i'm a high school senior and i'll be graduating a few weeks from now. i've liked this guy since sophomore year and it's obvious he's at least shown an interest in me throughout the past 3 years. he used to try to get my attention a lot and he constantly stares at me. we really haven't spoken much but i'd still be willing to get to know him. my school definitely has a bit of a social hierarchy and he's in a friend group most would consider a bit out of my league. since we're heading off to college and i've never really gotten the chance to speak to him, should i make one last effort? i was thinking about going up to him and saying he seems like a chill guy & offering my phone number. either that or i was considering following him on instagram. maybe dming him or something lol. should i just let it go or should i make a move ?? |

Posted: 16 May 2018 04:30 PM PDT We're not kids and we've only been spending time together for three weeks, but we're seeing each other every other day, we're impossibly comfortable with each other, more open with each other than we've been with anyone else. It's been intense and it's obvious this is something significant. This has to be infatuation, it's too early to be love... but when should the 'I love you' come into it, how do you tell when it's love and not infatuation? |
| Question: My girlfriend hates affection? Posted: 16 May 2018 04:26 PM PDT I've been dating my girlfriend for 7 months. We've never had any fights--most issues have been talked out respectfully. The other day, I texted her, "I love you," as I typically do, but she sorta lashed out--"I hate affection, I hate it when you tell me this," and she explained that she didn't tell me to spare my feelings and that the affection I shared made her uncomfortable because of how she was raised. I told her that I never aimed to make her uncomfortable, and that I would stop, and she thanked me for understanding. But the language she used was brutal. I wasn't showing any affection in public or physically, either. The extent of it was saying "I love you" often and sending good morning and good night texts. This is especially upsetting to me, as I have asked her in the past if I was annoying her or being needy by texting these phrases too often, and she said she was unbothered and enjoyed them. She's been kind to me, as usual, but now we don't say "I love you" anymore. And I understand that she doesn't like affection, but it's a necessity for me. I told her all of this yesterday, and that i wished she trusted me enough to tell me sooner, and that I'm, truthfully, now scared to be around her. She responded by saying that we'd talk it out via phone in an hour or so, but she forgot to call. :/ I don't know what to do. I care for her a lot but I feel like she hates me, or has found someone better. And I hate myself for making her uncomfortable. I don't know what to do. Thank you for the input. I'm sorry some of you have had similar experiences. I guess I should add, she's okay with physical affection, supposedly? She's the one who instigates cuddling and hand-holding and stuff. So she's not closed off, she just.. Absolutely Hates it when I say "I love you" and stuff for some reason. Can't make sense of that part. |

We met in college. We are many of the same classes. We both have a lot the same interests, I treat her with the utmost respect. She and I do not see races but what we do see is see is I am a guy and she is a girl who both have a lot in common.. All in all, we both very deeply in love with each other and want to be married after school ( 1 year left )WE are very much in love.I see her as the woman of my dreams and she said I was the man of her dreams.Should we to have to break up because her 4 brothers and 1 sister claim she should never date outside her race.WE been dating almost 2 years |
