Question: My future in-laws want us to go on a trip to Europe a week after our honeymoon. Thoughts? Posted: 21 May 2018 09:19 AM PDT My in-laws asked before, but it was to Aruba. I told my fiance that would basically be like going on our honeymoon with them. So my fiance told them no. Then a couple days ago at dinner they said they are planning a trip to Europe and want us to go with them. It would be a week after my fiance and I go on our honeymoon. They talked about it to my fiance before me and already got him on board. I'm not sure why they are asking again, because I have the same reason. To me it's still like they will be going on a honeymoon with us. Here are my reasons: 1)My fiance and I do not live together and we barely get to see each other, so I'll want to spend time with my new husband getting used to sharing a room together and waking up next to each other. 2) I have never been to Europe before. I want to explore it for the first time with my new husband, not with his family. We actually wanted to go to Europe for our honeymoon but decided not to because of the cost. 3) We just bought a new house & will be moving in right after our wedding. 4) I may get a lot of hate for this but I think it's rude for them to keep asking to get what they want and not respect our initial answer. They like to go on big family vacations yearly and I don't want to go with them. I would go if it was something like a weekend get away or something small. Call me crazy, but I would want to reserve bigger vacations with my husband. If my future husband wants to go with his family I'm fine with that. |
