I know this may seem weird or strange to ask, but I have no clue how to be a normal 24 year old female. Since I was born, my parents sheltered me and literally couldnt do much. Up until I graduated high school, even though I was in school, I wasnt allowed to hang out with anyone unless it was during school hours. But on a few occasions when they did let me, they had to approve of them before hand. That was awkward lol. I had a 5 pm curfew, and couldnt do anything on weekends unless it involved one or both of my parents. They searched my room just because they didnt want me being myself - they wanted to see if I only bought "parent approved items." They even got my brother into their crazyness by doing it. (now years later he is worse then them). They literally went everywhere - purses, and every inch and dust bunny their was. Basically turned my whole room upside down just to see if I was not buying "parent approved items." Before I knew that, they had this hunch I was wearing jewelry that I wanted and thats when it started. Turned out to be false because they could never find it. Wasnt allowed to date in high school. I had a few people interested in me when I was 17 but they hacked my phone and texted them lies, and then the guy thought I was playing games with them or wasnt really interested in them and wanted to lead them on. They wouldnt believe any parent would even do that to their kid. I wasn't allowed to wear much, so I had to be goth, emo, indie/hipster, and punk combined because that was all I was allowed to buy. Same with music, movies, and interests. I wish I could've wore what everyone else did, and was able to listen to whatever they did, but I couldn't. Wasn't allowed to listen to mainstream music until I was 18. When I got to college at 18, it was worse. From 18 until now at 24, I have always had a 9 pm curfew. One time they came looking for me, and was about to call the cops, because I came home at 9:30 pm instead of 9 pm. Another time a friend (an approved friend I still had from high school) wanted me to go shopping with her on Sunday, so we left mall at 6 pm since it closed then. Then we went out to eat at restaurant and it was packed, and we didn't get seated until 7 pm. Didn't get home until 10 pm. My mom apparently got worried and started texting me where I was because "the mall closed at 6 pm and thought I was not ok since the mall is 15 min from my house and it was 7:30 pm and was not home yet." I could only allowed to have classes from 9:30 am until 3 pm, and 8 am was only if I really had too (like if there was only 1 or 2 sections and all both of those 1 or 2 sections were at 8 am, or if I couldnt get that time up until 3 pm because of other classes then I needed to take 8 am). I wasnt allowed to hang out with people I became friends with - with anything they wanted to do like .......

I am her younger brother and I am 12 and she is 14 and her gang has 5 girls with her. Everyday they tickle me and I hate it. How do I get them to stop?

zit's bad enough they're not gonna be under the same roof with them and you're certainly gonna see them a lot less when they're far way so what's the point of it? If it were me I'd at least be nearby.

This isn't a recent issue, this has been going on for months now and I'm not the problem. I just turned 16 and I get straight As in school but over the weekends my mom will not let me sleep past noon. I usually stay up until about 4am because for the rest of the day I spend time with my family and so I use nighttime as a getaway so I can have five minutes alone for **** sake. I usually just eat, play video games, and practice guitar. It's not like I'm sneaking out and getting arrested in the middle of night. I usually sleep in until about 1:30pm, which isn't even that late! But my mom still screams at me like it's the end of the ******* world!

Hey, so my brother beats me up a lot and I have bruises all over from him. My parents don't do anything because they don't see how bad it can get. Recentlyy, he's been fighting over taking my tv for his xbox even though he already has one because he wants two and its so annoying I always tell him he can't have it but he'll literally beat me up if he doesn't get his own way. He'll pull my hair really hard, he puts pillows over my head and holds it there as hard as he can for like twenty seconds. He doesn't understand that I feel like I can't breathe as it is because I have asthma. I will literally cry all the time about it but my parents baby him because he's the baby of the family. He's fifteen and in high school, I feel like he should be growing out of hitting me but he's not. There's been more times where he beats me up and I literally flinch everytime he walks near me. I lock myself in my room because I can't fully relax when he's around. Sometimes he'll take a lighter and hold it up to my clothes. I pray that I don't go up in flames and other times he'll take his axe spray and spray my room with a lot of it because he knows that I have really bad asthma and allergies and I feel like I'm suffocating. I understand that part of this is normal but I feel like some of it isn't.

Hi! So I am turning 18 and ever since I was younger I for some reason have wanted to throw myself my 18th bday party. The thing is my parents are old and have zero idea that I party or drink. I am a good kid and am supposed to be since I have stupid older brothers who have caused my parents enough stress. (My brothers by the way won't help me with any of this). I either need to get them out of the house some how or ... I dont even know what else to do. Asking would be a good option and they might even say yes but once they realize that it's an actual party with alc and not just me and my five girl friends being stupid it's basically gauranteed I will have no life ever again. They can't know... I would feel so guilty because like I said I am the good child who does't do any of this. I know pathetic. Please help!

Okay, so before I start to explain to you why she's absolutely insane, let me just say that this has been going on for two years now and I NEED advice! My brother's wife moved in this passed spring and all hell broke loose. We had an unfinished basement because we just didn't have the time to start a huge project like that. My brother's wife kept on telling my brother, that she would not move in until the basement was finished. Which is stupid, saying as the two bedrooms and bathroom down there were finished. My brother started to fight with my parents because he wanted them to pay for everything to finish it. My parents spent $3000 just so that she could move in and she never even said thank you. Thats the only thing my family wanted, a thank you. After living with her for some time we started to notice things. For one thing, she never cooks down there with the food that they bought. My parents don't charge them rent or anything, so they should at least have the common curtesy to buy there own food. But my dad put in a kitchen downstairs for them and she refuses to cook in it. All the appliances and everything are brand new, but she won't use it. Plus, she helped design it. She has a table and a living room downstairs and she won't study at it! She has to sit in our kitchen, blast her music and yell at us every time we turn on the television in our own living room. When she goes down stairs we can hear her on the phone and talking to my brother all about how horrible we are! I just don't know what to do! What did we do wrong?

So I am a 16 year old sophomore, and my entire life I have been doubted by my family. I have never wanted something in my life because every dream or goal I have gets shut down by my parents or other family members. The only two supporters in my family are my grandmother and sister. My mom, dad, aunt, and uncle always doubt everything I do. For example, my goal and dream that I have wanted for years is to go to college and become a general surgeon. I am asked by family member what I would like to do after high school, and I tell them general surgery. My dad says "you're too lazy...there's too much liability why would you want that? you should probably get your grades up." But it sucks because I get A's and B's and have already gotten requests for me to be apart of an advanced youth medical program. My aunt is very nice, but she laughed in my face when I told her I am going to be a surgeon after high school. People can't take me seriously. I have 0 friends in school, nobody wants to talk to me, my family crushes every dream I have, and the only family members that tell me they are proud is my sister and grandmother. I got into a Harvard summer program and my dad laughed at me and said "yeah okay. you're not going away for the summer. you'd never do it" it is getting annoying and I am feeling so worthless and depressed. I try so hard and fail at everything I do. I write an essay, boom I get a 70. I come home and cry every single day because I can't do anything. What can I do? I have never had any real dreams. I have never wanted something without getting laughed at for it. How can I start coping with this sadness, no friends, and family problems?

Hello, I wanted to ask for some advice, OK here it goes I'm homeschooed I've been homeschooed all my life but I just don't know what to do anymore, I've been very secluded my whole life and never really had any friends expect for one who is not anymore, being this way has made me become over time more and more shy and reclusive to the point where I get anxiety even talking to my own family the only people I basically see, my parents also have not done a very good job in educating me as they are suppose to do as homeschooling parents, I can't even do basic math! Like multiplication or division, I hate myself because I feel that I am so behind what other kids my age already know, how am I even to go to college even get a job when I can't talk to people and I'm dumb as a box of rocks! I would like to be a professional artist or filmmaker because it's the only thing I think I'm somewhat good but being a flimmaker involves having to talk to and direct other people which I don't know if I could ever do and that depresses me so much because I would love to write and make independent films. if they anyone could give me some advice it would be very appreciated, Thank you.

He was a family friend. At the time I was 15, he was 32 it carried out until I ended it when I was 23, nobody knew. I'm now 27, recently an old diary was found by a family member who is now threatening to go to the police. I wasn't forced in to anything. I wouldn't like to tell friends about the situation, and I do not know anyone who has any knowledge about things like this. So does anyone on here have any idea if he could get arrested, or even go to prison because of this? I'm also in the UK, not the USA.

I live with parents. My dad seem like he try to avoid me and rarely speak. He talks to my sister and act like he doesn't care about me. He act like he is ashamed of me. I'm not perfect but try and do what i can. The family is broken. I told him i felt he didn't care about me. He has said he would kill me. He doesn't apologize. He does things with my sister and never ask if me. It's not about doing things with him but he never considers me like he is ashamed of me. So my mother watches my 4 year old nephew & for the last few years I've been ignored big time. Every time she calls, she just talks about him for hours & never asks about me. I didn't get anything for Christmas, but she got my nephew a lot of things. I went home for the weekend to spend time with her because the super bowl is important to her & because I won't be home for my birthday. She refused to get me anything for my bday, but bought my nephew $50 worth of cars & was going to buy him a new tv. The whole time I was at home, all she did was talk about him & say how much she loves him & blah blah blah. Everytime I would say anything at all, she would get mad & yell at me for nothing. (I really don't understand why.) I don't want this to seem like I'm jealous, because I'm not. I talked to her about it once, she would tell me that she loves me for a week. He is manipulative and controlling. He tries to control people's lives, since he's a prophet. He brags about how much he spends, wherever he goes, and what he does. He is sensitive to critisidm. He can be angry at times, and funny. But a lot of people don't like to be around him anymore. He has a spiritual daughter, and looks at her butt. He tries to be sly. He gets mad at his neighbors sometimes, one time the neighbor let the dog chase the raccoons my grandfather feeds. And after that he placed his hand towards him and said he reaps what he sow. My grandfather said my neighbor will soon lose his house or his dog will die. He did stuff like this before and it worked. So what's his problem?

I'm sure that she is jealous of my fathers girlfriend. They've been divorced for 9 years. She remarried 4 years ago, and my father has been in a relationship with a girl called Chantal for 3 years. I'm 19, I really try to stay out of my mothers BS, but each time I see her she makes snide remarks, and digs about my father's relationship even now. It's not something where it lasts for about a minute, most of the time she will go on hour rants about it. I've told her that I will stop visiting her if she doesn't quit it, but she keeps on. My father is 46, and his girlfriend 28, so she says a lot about his girlfriends age, calls her a gold digger etc. Despite that she is in a higher paid job than my father, and helps my father a lot with money, and pays the rent on her own(she lives with him). But I can't tell my mum that because they want it kept 'private', she calls her a wh*re, tells me that Chantal hates me, and apparently says things about me behind my back. I don't get completely why she is like this. My father and his girlfriend rarely mention her, if they do it is only nice things. I feel like I'm stuck in the middle somehow. Is it worth just not visiting her over? When I do visit her all I head about it them. Sorry for the long rant.

My older sister tells lies. If we ever hang out with kids they will always end up straying away from me because my sister will hangout with them alone on purpose and say stuff about me. Shes only three years older than I am. I'm 10. It really hurts my feelings. Ok, so yesterday my mum looked at my report card and said that my grades weren't good enough so she wants me to have a tutor. After that i asked her for how long will i have the tutor? to what she replied, until i will be on the same level at my studies as Oxford student. Like what?! firstly I am like 6-7 years younger than students there, secondly, what if i don't want that? how can i convince her that my grades are pretty ok and that i just want to live my life how i want to?

I got my own apartment. I pay for it. I buy the food cook the food. Clean do laundry. Take care of my two year old daughter. And I have a dog that hasn't been spayed yet because I haven't had the money. I expect my boyfriend to pay the pet deposit considering I'm his girl and I needsomething he has money for. I dont have the money at this time. Its only 200 for her shots and to get spayed. My boyfriend does not live with me and he REFUSES to stay with me even one night. I make him dinner everynight with food I buy and he only buyd food when I'm out of money. I cook and clean up after him. He won't even take his plate to the sink because "its women's job to clean" I have to get up early get my daughter dressed and sneak my dog down the stairs every morning because I don't have the money to pay her shots and pet deposit. And my bf does. I expect him to clean up his own mess at my apartment. And pay for the pet deposit just because he has it. I pay my own rebt food and whatever I need or my daughter needs. I expect him to help

I am in my 30s and i live 5 minutes away from my family. The problem is - they dont ever want to spend any time with me. They have never visited me once and I live 5 minutes away. Also we go to the same gym but when I ask if they are going - they just say they have the flu or make up an excuse. I was thinking of just canceling it because i am not sure what the issue is. If i do go over there and visit - my father pretends i am not there and my mother seems pretty disinterested. I have never fought with them over anything and I am not sure what their problem is. Should i just give up on them?

I'm 17 and I live with my sister and father. My sister isn't the best person to live with I hate living with her she's not appreciative of nothing she has a child but she makes me take care of him mostly which I'm ok with because she works.but she never thanks me for it then we fight constantly and I smoke she holds it against me I really hate living with her she makes me miserable . Let me get to the point I have older brothers no sisters and I am the youngest brother therefore I am looking 4 younger sister to pass on what I know and help someone in the same boat

Back story... 5 years ago my partner, myself and out son were staying with his parents temporarily while we were in the process of looking for a home. His father unexpectedly passed away and we agreed to stay and take over financial responsibilities for the home to help his mother and teenage sister. The arrangement went well for about a year until his mother met a wonderful man and got remarried. She left, but the sister remained. She was enrolled in a 1 year college course and the agreement was that as soon as she graduated she would either split expenses with us or move out. A few months passed and all of a sudden her boyfriend was living with us. No discussion about it, he was just there and never left. We let it be as we all still assumed she would be leaving after graduation. Never happened. Her and boyfriend got married in a lavish ceremony paid for by his family. Still living in the extra room in our 3 bedroom home. We cannot even have a discussion with them about leaving as even a slight hint to them about cleaning up after themselves turns into weeks worth of fighting, threats and drama involving the whole family. No rent is paid, no chores are done, they have filled their bedroom with all of the expensive crap they buy while claiming poverty. And neither my partner or myself can say a word about it. And to top it all off, our second child is due in 3 months and does not have a room. We have invested too much into the home to leave now. Help! The house is not in our names, but we pay all of the bills for it as well as helping his grandmother who lives next door. She is the deed holder for the home but has made it clear that it will be ours when she passes. She has told the sister that she needs to leave as well but is not willing to take legal action to make it happen.

When I was around 8, my 14ish year old cousin and I were playing hide and seek, my 5 year old sister was seeking, when he and I went to hide, we went up on his loft bed (bunk bed with only top bunk), and he told me to lay on top of him, because it was a fairly narrow bed I didn't think anything of it, but then he started to grind on my rear, I was very uncomfortable. He told me to go under him, and I did, and he kept grinding. I told him that I wanted to leave, but he wouldn't let me, but my sister eventually found us. It felt like forever, when it was (i'm guessing) about 10 minutes. Later that same year, we were helping my grandparents move into a new house, we went looking around their new house and just kind of exploring it and we were in their basement and I was sitting on a recliner and he came up to me and started grinding on my crotch this time. I felt so vulnerable, my sister came down the stairs, saw what was going on and she stopped right in her tracks and just stared at us. I wanted to tell her to get someone, but he said "go upstairs, we'll be up soon" and so she did. I eventually got away from him, and I told my mom both times that it happened. A few years later, my sister told me he did the same thing to he the same day he did it to me the first time, but she hadn't told anyone, so I made her tell our mom. I am now 16, she is 13 and he is 20, because of that, I now suffer from anxiety and depression. We were clothed, but it was still just so traumatic for us.

I used to live in Texas where I got pregnant at 16 with my ex-boyfriends child. We were together for 2.5 years when my dad forced me to move to Arizona because he couldn't except the fact he was the father. Our son is now 8 months and my father and aunt have yet to let him in his life. He hates me now because no matter what I do I can't talk my dad and his sister into letting him see the baby. I'm 18 years old about to graduate highschool. I have a solid plan for graduation. Going to get a job in construction while in community college and move out. From there I can transfer to any college in my state. Solid plan. Why can't I smoke pot? My mom went through my room to get my PlayStation and tv to ground me for my report card. I got 2 Es. If I'm going to community college there's no point in trying, my GPA at 2.7 won't change. They don't ask for highschool transcripts. Anyways my mom is very abusive when she's mad. She'll scream and yell to make me cry. She will probably attack me with something. The thing is that her boyfriend smokes pot religiously. They both think it's going unnoticed but I have caught him before. He knows I smoke and I know he does. We all live together too. How can I win this battle? She may try kicking me out or taking all of my stuff away; I'm 18 though so she can't do that.

Was it wrong of me to take all those turds on a shovel and fling the $h!t into her yard? The worst part about it is that when my kids and I were playing in the snow fort, I seen her standing behind my car with this stupid mutt and then she yelled at it saying, "Come on! Let's go." and she turned around and kinda started running......I was like, "Wtf, lady?" One night I was out back smoking and she walks this dog by where we set out garbage cans and she says, "No not there again." This WHOLE time I thought is was the old guy across the way. When I saw it was her, I felt burned. Right or wrong, I helped her son after he almost ripped his arm off in a saw at work. Gave him a blend of castor oil and nerve repair, pain relief essential oils and help him heal double time. Whatever.....I just thought she'd have a bit more respect for my place. I probably shouldn't be like this, but I felt good about shoveling those turds back in her yard, in broad daylight. I'll say something to her next time.

So, my aunt is STINGY!! Her husband makes 8-10,000 dollars a month as a engineer, but she only feeds her kids sparingly. For her 7 yo birthday, she just got hummus, no cake or presents. She feeds her children 7 grapes for breakfast, and she barely buys them new clothes. No TV, no new toys, no electronics. She is stingy with her children. One time my mom asked her children what would they like to eat. They said "rice" (rice is cheap). The children show signs of low self esteem, unhappiness, and aggression. I one time asked them (it was breakfast time), would u like to eat a pear and the oldest one ( 13 yo boy) is like "No thank u, fat ****". Her 7 yo daughter spies at me and is somewhat aggressive. My aunt and uncle fight, because their 5 yo HOMESCHOOLED daughter says ***** ***** ****** *****. Where would she learn the bad word if she doesnt go to public school and doesnt watch TV? HER PARENTS!!

Ok so my ex is mad at me because we were in love and I was living with him and got pregnant had the child who is two now. I left my ex "hubby" not really married about 8 months ago and haven't seen my kid in 4 months due to my part I admit it. I got lost in myself and just wanted to party. He's mad at me won't let me see my kid anymore. I cheated on him. And neglected to see our child but now I want to see my baby I miss him so much my heart aches to hold and kiss him!!.. He won't let me see him. He won't even answer my calls for the past two days now. Last time I talked to him he said I wasn't a fit mother I told him he can't keep me from my son because I'm his mother and he don't have any law baking him up saying I can be around my son and he told me once they see "your track marks all over your arms an you selling yourself to get the drugs you'll never have him again". How is it going to hurt anyone is I see my son at all I just want to see my boy!!! An he threatens me with that! I've been going down a long dark road and he knows that. Can I take him to court?

My family struggles financially. I am 15 and both my parents have pretty average/steady jobs. I have two younger sibilings and all I want to do is travel. I dont care if it is not a big trip or far away, I live in Boston and I would not mind even just going to New Hampshire to ski for a day. I get a little angry with my parents because they both have so much potential. My moms family is VERY wealthy and my mom went to a great college, got a great education, had no student loans and still has a crappy job. I know the economy is bad blah blah but she is not even looking for another job when she hates it and she could do so much better. I really am not trying to sound spoiled or anything but I just want to go on one trip before I go to college in a few years because after that we will all be adults with scheduales struggling to make plans. My father has diabetes and has been diagnosed with the flu. He is really sick and im afraid that he might get in a worse condition. My mom also has the flu, and im scared that she will become very ill and weak. I have always had a fear of my parents dying, and it brings me to tears just thinking about it. I dont deserve great parents like them. I dont know what to do. Im not focused at school because i think about it, and i get scared of what might happen. My mom is tough and i know that she is strong enough, But my father works his *** of 24/7 and he hasnt been in good condition even after the flu. I am 19 years old and I live with my mom nd I feel trapped. Let me start by giving some background my mom has always been "overprotective" when I was a child she would never let me go outside, go over family members homes, she would pick my clothes, choosing my hairstyles, and even doing my homework when she felt like I wasn t doing good enough and it didn t bother me much but as I grew up she never changed I was never allowed to go to school dances/games I could never stay after school or walk to the bus stop I wasn t allowed to go to friends homes or out really anywhere. She would tell me which friends I can t spend time with at school because she didn t like them she didn t let me shave, cut, or dye my hair, and not allowed to get piercings. I was never allowed to ride with friends or anyone that wasn t her (still to this day really). I try to be my own person she makes fun of me of is really mean about my choices. I have been depressed since I was 6 every time I try to get professional help she acts as if there s nothing wrong with me. I started getting really bad panic attacks around 7th grade and some times when I m really depressed/stressed my entire body tenses but whenever I tell my mom she dismisses it. Even though she s like this she actively ignores me most of the time and acts like I m a burden im being forced to go to college get a degree I don t want I feel so trapped and like life is meaningless I don t know what to do or how to cope anymore what should I do?

My family is like Indian and we have tons of boring wedding functions which are really hard to bear. The reason I want to skip a few small functions is that I've got a very good job opportunity and for that I've to take a test which is almost 2 weeks away and I've to prepare well for it but apparently my family doesn't understand its importance. Im going to try to make this quick. When I was 10 or so I lost my home. We moved in with my grandparents. Im 17. All five of us live in a 3 bedroom home. Since the day we lost our house ive hated life. Extremely depressed ever since. Plus living with them is hard. My grandpa doesn't do anything for my grandma who has dementia. She will walk around the house naked trying to kill the magical dragon while he watches tv. Also living in the kind of house never aloud me to have friends over. They were never aloud plus I didn't want them to see this. And only time I was aloud out was for school, rest of the time Im forced to help the both of them. This also means ive never been able to keep a girlfriend, I would never be able to see them, which is hard. Im starting to get to a breaking point. What would you do? And please don't call me a asshole for not caring that they let us live here. I'm grateful that they let us stay.

So my brother who just turned 10 last month is mad about cars. When I came into his room today, he was on my mom's phone (he doesn't have his own phone). As soon as I entered the room he quickly closed what he was looking at on the phone before I could see. I inquired of what he was doing on the phone and he just said that he was looking at pics of ford Mustang. Later I checked the history and found that he had indeed searched for Ford Mustang and had stumbled across a pic of a half naked girl posing against the car. I think that kinda triggered him as the rest of the search history was full of bikini clad women posing against automobiles. It's his first time he has come across something like this on the Internet. Please, what should I do? Should I tell my parents or should I explain him no to do it? I don't want him looking at obscne stuff on the Internet. I'm only 14.

I'm a 13 year old girl. The other day I was playing a game on my dad's phone. A message from my mom came up. She's a professor at a university and was coming back from a research trip she was on. I thought the message would be something like 'pick me up at 'x' time, but it was 'we haven't made love in so long! When I get back I want to get naked with you and have your tongue between my legs :P' That made me feel really uncomfortable. If I ever said anything like that my mom would flip and tell me to have cleaner language/keep my mind out of the gutter.It also just makes me kind of sick to think of my parents that way.
